Absolutely delicious vegan food! I’m vegetarian but the seitan wrap was so tasty that proves vegan food can be just as delicious. Young servers were single handedly making the drinks and serving not only smoothly but with a smile. Would go back for the food AND service.

A very nice place with a 100% vegetarian menu, as the name suggests. All dishes are almost the same price, which is reasonable. Salads, wraps, and burgers are all healthy options. A fairly extensive drinks menu is also available—both hot and cold. Very nice decor and very friendly staff.

I visited De Herbivoor on Wednesday May 21st together with my sister and we both decided to visit De Herbivoor again on our next visit to Groningen. Keep up the good work Herbivoor.

Nice place with nice young service. The food was tasty, but the presentation on a shelf is awkward as you cannot put dressing on the lettuce because it runs off the shelf. A sign as old cultural heritage will certainly provide a solution.

What a fantastic restaurant. I ate the tastiest seitan ever there. Extremely tasty and extremely tasty. I can't make it this good myself and I haven't had it served this good anywhere else. Fantastic! You would become a vegan out of fear 😉. I am not a vegan or vegetarian myself, but I know one thing for sure. My next lunch in Groningen will definitely be vegan again. For the meals served here, I happily omit all animal proteins. When I walked to the kitchen to compliment the chef, we started talking and... I just received some tips and advice to take my seitan to the next level. If you want to know what the secret of this seitan is..... then join us and have a chat with the chef. She will tell you with (justified) pride and pleasure. And while you're there, send them my regards.

The soup platter with bread, dip and vegetables was a real treat! It is also very comfortable, the service is very friendly and it is child-friendly (children's chair and changing table).

On a beautifully sunny day the parasol could not be folded, the Cappuccino was not tasty and a small cookie was also missing. The place is lovely around lunchtime. Update: Following the owner's inappropriate response, I have adjusted my review from 3 to 1 star.

We loved our dinner at De Herbivoor so much that we went back for lunch the next day. It is the best vegan restaurant ever! The food was beautifully presented and it just got better from there. Everything we ordered was delicious and so satisfying. We especially appreciated the friendly and personable hospitality. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a satisfying yet healthy meal in a friendly environment.

Cozy place with a nice appearance. Unfortunately, the burger I had was less my thing. This was a bit dry and grainy and not really very special anyway. I also think it's a shame that there aren't some smaller lunch dishes on the menu.

The food was beautifully prepared and tasted very tasty. One star deducted because one of the wraps or the filling unfortunately tasted a bit flat and boring. The price was a bit high for that. But we would still come back because the other dishes were really tasty! We were in the restaurant with two small children and everyone was super child-friendly!

Small is beautiful! Lunch at the Herbivore is always delicious: fresh, fresh and rich. Everything is vegetarian, some things are vegan. Even if that doesn't bother you, the food is highly recommended. And the service is also cheerful and friendly. Top spot! EDIT: all food is vegan! And (still) delicious!

Nice place to sit, you can sit in the sun all afternoon! The salads were super tasty and beautifully presented. Burger and falafel both tasty. You can taste that it is fresh. It's on the pricey side (€16.75) I think... it's vegan and organic, so if that's what you're willing to do, definitely go for it! It is also filling. Service very friendly and the interior is also nice. Recommended!

Super good vegan restaurant across the main station. Impeccable service! I had the herbivore burger: no saturated fats or greasy patties here but a elicious, nutritious dish made of fresh ingredients.

A real treat for vegans and everyone who loves fresh, aromatic cuisine! The vegan restaurant impresses with its minimalist style, extremely courteous personal service and the use of fresh products. We enjoyed a falafel wrap and a burger, both of which were not only extremely tasty but also artfully arranged. Reservations are advisable, especially on weekends, as otherwise there may be waiting times. We are already looking forward to our next visit to Groningen and will definitely stop by again.

Chose to eat here because of the funny name and appearance. Light, plant-rich space with attention to details. At our request we could eat quickly. The recommended Stroganoff with parsnip puree was delicious and was accompanied by a beautifully colored salad with many ingredients, a feast for the eyes and the tongue.

Dear workers of the Herbivore. Unfortunately, we could not agree with the positive reviews. The food was, as my dining companion mentioned, mediocre. It was cold in the restaurant. And unfortunately you were not able to make good coffee. The cake was a bit dry...shame.

De soep van de dag was tomaten groente soep. Van te voren gevraagd of het pittig was en het antwoord was nee. Maar de soep bleek verschrikkelijk pittig te zijn. De bediening bood wel wat water aan om de soep te verdunnen. De koffie en de chocolade melk waren niet lekker. De sfeer was leuk, met allemaal plantje en leuke boeken. Maar het was niet fantastisch ofzo... De zitplekken waren niet heel fijn. Ik zal deze plek niet aanraden, maar ik wil wel de bediening bedanken voor de aandacht en goede zorg!

Super lekker eten! Wij zijn hier dit weekend gaan ontbijten + volgende dag besteld via thuisbezorgd. Oh en 2 taartjes meegenomen. Allemaal echt top! Vers, gezond en erg lekker. Ook grote porties wat fijn is als je met een grote eter bent. Ook zijn de mensen die er werken erg vriendelijk. Must visit in Groningen.

Lovely food slightly under seasoned

Wauw voor het eerst hier gegeten, wat heerlijk en super leuke en vriendelijke bediening.

Wat een toffe plek! Heerlijke, unieke en bijzondere gerechten. De bediening is relaxed en komt graag een praatje maken. Ik heb gesmuld en kom zeker terug mocht ik weer in Groningen zijn 🥰

Het biedt ruime keuze aan heerlijke lunches. Het is druk, maar mt een lachend gezicht wordt er lekker geserveerd. Voor een snelle lunch in de stad is het aan de duurder kant.

De herbivoor heeft een compact lunch menu met 3x3 opties. Wij bestelden in mei 2023 beiden de spelt wrap met seitan (zie foto). We wisten niet goed wat we moesten verwachten en waren blij verrast, zowel qua looks als inhoud. Goed gevulde 'pannenkoek' met heel veel smaak door de verschillende ingrediënten, een aanrader! Na afloop zeiden we beiden dat dit voor herhaling vatbaar is. Het is aan de prijzige kant maar je bent na deze lunch zeker verzadigd.

One of the best cuisines we have ever tried. The food is amazing. Especially the bread. Buns, tortillas - I have eaten bread in 20 countries around the world and I have never eaten bread like this. It is INCREDIBLE. Otherwise, everything is as it should be: the drinks are delicious, the seitan is juicy, the portions are huge. The only negative for me: the waiters sometimes come up to you and ask if everything is all right while you are eating. I do not really like this approach because I am a closed person. But that's me.

In our weekend visit to Groningen we tried the herbivoor as it is right in the centre and had plenty of space while many other cafes were very full. Wooden interior, no special design, but friendly and welcoming. The menu changes and van be found on the chalkboard. Their food and drinks are organic and vegan. I had the grilled vegetables with tahin sauce. Good choice. All very fresh and more than sufficient. My partner had the wrap, which was quite big and full of vegetables. Served with a salad. Beers are all Gulpener, which is a right choice. Price on the higher end, but logical for such a good full plates.

Had the fried aubergine, absolutely delicious and very filling. Great range of veg in the salad with it. Lots of gluten free options as well as vegan too. They have menus in English and Dutch. Will definitely come back next time I'm in town.

I ordered an iced coffee, and it was definitely one of the best I've ever had. The ambiance of the place was amazing, and the staff was fantastic too! I really wished I had the opportunity to try one of their dishes as well. I highly recommend it.

I m not into vegan at all. I think it is vastly overrated. However, we ended up here craving a tea or coffee. We decided on an orange/ginger tea. Our waiter inquired how we liked this tea. We weren't overly enthusiastic because it was a rather bitter drink. We suggested putting in an extra slice of orange to make the tea more refreshing. Our waiter promptly brought out slices of orange ( unasked for), and indeed, it spiced up the tea!! Cheers all around!
