MAHALO in Oud-West

A truly enjoyable breakfast outdoors, in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The menu offers a wide and interesting selection of vegan dishes. I tried the oat pancakes with fruit, which were delicious and beautifully presented, and the original and tasty vegan avocado toast, unlike any other. A great experience, recommended for both vegans and those who simply want a healthy and flavorful breakfast.

The new menu has really good (and fun) smoothies. And finally, an easy gluten-free lunch!

Drinks and food are very bland, despite the nice location and service

Sat once for a golden milk and once for a smoothie bowl. Both very tasty and the menu invites you to try more; all tasty things. Both times I had to order again - the first times the order was not processed. When ordering the smoothie bowl, the smoothie on the menu was pointed out by staff, when paying a different (more expensive) price was used. When asking and indicating that it would be nice to be clear about that, there was hardly any and uninterested response. Cutlery is in containers on the table outside, not pleasant (unhygienic). Otherwise a nice and beautiful place with a view of the Noorderplantsoen.

My favourite spot in the city! Delicious food, all vegan, with great presentation, yet still good portions and fair prices. The service is very friendly, often see the same faces. Love that they offer picnic baskets to enjoy in the park.

After three months in come to this place yesterday was my first bad experience. The food was not good. Moreover, I feel that the portion in the plates was reduced.

This was our third time going because we like it, however we waited 40 minutes and there were no one else there except us, the taste of the food was not what it always was and the kimchi was too fermented. It was disappointing since we recommended the place and we were with other people, the reduction in the dish was blatant, unfortunately I don't think we'll return here. Obviously I won't recommend it again.

Worst service i have ever seen. I sat there for 30 mins and no one cared to take a order.

Verrassend leuke tent aan het noorderplantsoen in Groningen. Intieme sfeer waarbij je buiten op het terras kan zitten. Vlotte bediening! En... voor een diehard carnivoor was de wrap kebab echt verrassend lekker. Espresso was uitmuntend.

Very cozy place! You can sit both outside and inside. Is one of my favorite places in Groningen. The pastries are also delicious!

El café era muy bueno pero el servicio muy lento. Solo quería un café para llevar pero tuve que esperar bastante tiempo de pie. El personal me hizo sentir un poco incómodo.

Nova - the waitress - saved the day! she was lovely and friendly but the others not so friendly! Service was extremely slow! it was a sunday morning but 3 tables had a reserve sign on it, madness! they turned people away!! Location is amazing! But after this experience i will not visit again! Food was average!

I was always quite a fan of Mahalo and enjoyed going there, but things seem to have changed in recent months. While I was satisfied before, a few things are now not going well. To start with (something that was already happening before), I don't think the cutlery in jars on the tables is very fresh. Everyone takes out the cutlery themselves, but that also means that everyone has their hands on those forks and spoons - not nice when people have a cold or have just wiped their nose. Waiting for your order also takes longer than before. Twice I have experienced that people who came after me received their food earlier. That feels a bit sloppy and you get the feeling that there is less attention for the customer. Then something about the dishes: on two other occasions my Dahl soup was served differently without consultation, with sweetened soy yogurt in it. One time it was a mistake, the other time it was because the unsweetened one had run out. A little explanation about this would be nice. The idea behind Mahalo remains fun, but unfortunately the experience has diminished. Hopefully more attention will be paid to service and hygiene, because I previously thought it was a really nice place to eat.

The place is not worth the price and hype. Me and my friend waited for more than 40 minutes to get our food which was basically two toast with avocado. It’s just something you can make it home in five minutes and it’ll probably taste better. The surrounding is cute though if the weather is nice, you can just sit outside and chill.

We had an excellent experience at Mahalo. The service was outstanding, and the vegan, gluten-free food was delicious. Every dish was flavorful and fresh, making it easy to enjoy a meal that caters to various dietary preferences. We'll definitely be returning!

Had lunch at Mahalo with a friend. The terrace was completely full and we noticed that. Even though the staff worked very hard, it took a very long time before we were helped and received our orders. We ordered the Golden milk, the smoothie bowl and the pancakes. The Golden milk was a bit too overpowering for me, but the smoothie bowl and pancakes were delicious.

Wow! The food here is delicious, but also so so beautiful! The smoothie bowl had so much fruit on it and is probably one of the best I’ve had. The worker there was so sweet and helpful. And the view towards the park just adds a cherry on top. The price was also nice for so much food. I absolutely loved it!

Super friendly people, nice atmosphere and most of the food is just great, and all plant based: amazing! Time spent at Mahalo is time well spent!

Pure and honest food. My favorite in particular is the hot banana bread with black coffee. They would only have to replace the seats. (Or maybe it's intentional so people don't linger too long😊)

Man, I had such high expectations of this cafe and have wanted to go here for ages... However, I didn't like the cake at all... it was probably lying around for a while and my matcha latte wasn't tasty at all either. Well, at least the service was good and the waitress seemed really nice. And you can also sit here and watch the hustle and bustle around the park.

Had a cappuccino here, it was very tasty. Friendly staff. The only (positive) disadvantage: it runs so well and is so popular that you have to be lucky to have a free chair/table.

Delicious food here. For the lunch trio it is a good choice. Delicious salad on the side. The soup lacks some flavor and iced coffee could be colder. Furthermore, highly recommended.

I’d consider this place a gem of Groningen. It overlooks the park and has healthy-sounding options (many veg and vegan!). Their drinks’ portions are very good, though Latte was on the lighter side of taste and I won’t recommend the Dirty Chai. Lavender Cake was good too (it’s a dense cake with a bit of very-sweet white frosting and a few lavender buds sprinkled on the top). Amazing place to sit & read, chat with friends or simply enjoy the beautiful sceneries of the park. They have seating both indoors (upstairs) and outdoors.

Carrot cake was very tasty, nice and moist. In my opinion, the chai latte had almost only cinnamon in it, too much cinnamon, otherwise I hardly tasted the other spices. Cute thing, but strange to go to the top floor through the kitchen.

This is always the right place for a tea/coffee with something tasty. In the summer, relax on the terrace or go into the park with a picnic basket (available from Mahalo, including a blanket). I'm a big fan of the high tea, you get so much delicious food and drinks (not just tea) for a great price. A doggy bag is never a problem and that's nice, because even as a big eater I can't eat it all.

The coffee and the food looks nice, but are a more or less flavourless. I have been there three times so far and every time there was a slip up with our order. For example we got a Latte Macchiato instead of a Espresso Macchiato. Or the other time the Chai Latte was super thin and after enquiry for a new one the powder was empty - so it was probably done with the last few crumbs (At least we did not had to pay for this one). The location is nice, so it is sad that I got disappointed :(

Helaas een teleurstelling. De taart is erg droog, de koffie was koud, en er is erg weinig keuze voor lunch. Ook was het toilet enorm vies en moet je door de (vieze) keuken om naar boven te kunnen.

Mein Lieblingscafé. Tolle Kaffee und Teespezialitäten, leckerer Kuchen und Cookies. Ich liebe die Frühstück Bowls❤️

De voedzame veganistische linzensoep is naar mijn mening een omweg waard. Goed en afgewogen gekruid en daarom hoog op smaak. Op zien Grunnegs zegd: t kon minder!

Vriendelijke bediening; er was geen plekje meer vrij op het terras dus we gingen binnen zitten. Toen er een plekje vrij was op het terras, werden we hier door de bediening op geattendeerd. Het eten, drinken en de hygiëne vielen wel enorm tegen. De avocado toast smaakte nergens naar (en er zat verse koriander 🧼 op, dit was niet aangegeven op de menukaart…) De ijsthee was waterig en nog warm aan de onderkant van het glas. Oja, de metalen rietjes en glazen waren erg plakkerig en op het rietje leken nog restjes sinaasappelpulp (?) te zitten. Ik kom hier niet nog een keer.

The service was kind and friendly! The food looked amazing and tasted great, only the fruit was not really ripe. The coffee is good, but the oat milk used is not barista friendly so the drink becomes a bit watery and the foam vanishes quickly.

Verschillende gerechten besteld. Soep en wraps. Soep was vrij dik maar erg lekker, de toppings waren een hele goede toevoeging. De wraps waren lekker gevuld maar de vulling was warm maar de wrap zelf niet. Dat was jammer. Zitplekken zijn niet erg confortabel en tafels hebben hun beste tijd gehad. Maar personeel is aardig en buiten in het zonnetje hebben we genoten van onze lunch.

Fantastisch plekje op het terras met zicht op het plantsoen. De cappuccino met havermelk is fantastisch. Ik kom hier voor terug. De carrotcake is hier ook erg lekker.

Such a wonderful idea! You can order a picnic basket with delicious beverages and food and enjoy the day on the park nearby. The price was really great and the kimchi toast, wrap and smoothies were delicious! Not included but totally a must are the cakes and peanut butter cookies. Totally gone come back when we visit Groningen again!

Klein en daardoor rumoerig. De gerechten zijn ok, maar erg klein. Voor de tafels moet je eerst door de keuken heen lopen.

Best oat milk coffee In Groningen ☕️ Can’t say the say about one with coconut milk. Tasty cookies. Friendly staff. Can recommend for great coffee to go. And they have a paper lids for cups. Plus one star for it.

Vriendelijk personeel, lekkere pannenkoeken en smoothie bowls (ik had Minty Berry). Wil zeker terug komen om andere dingen op hun menu te proberen.

Nice vegan food. Good atmosfere.

Mahalo is veganistisch en alles maken ze zelf hun producten zijn biologisch en plantaardig. Buiten is het prima toeven. Boven zijn er ook zitplaatsen, maar vind ik minder prettig. Als je boven wilt zitten ga je door de keuken en dan een stijle trap op. Het is weer eens wat anders en best een belevenis 😄. Maar de ruimte wordt kleiner als er meer mensen zijn en ik ben claustrofobisch 😳. De eigenaresse (althans dat denk ik) spreekt Engels en is klantvriendelijk en goedlachs. Petje af hoe ze het allemaal voor elkaar krijgt. Ze leek in haar uppie te zijn en vloog de trap op en af en met de bestelling was het niet te merken dat ze het druk had inclusief kort praatje. Love it. De chocoladetaart was hemels en de volgende keer wil ik de linzensoep proberen. Het uitzicht over het Noorderplantsoen is ook super. Ik ga zeker een keer terug komen bijv combineren met een fijne wandeling door het Noorderplantsoen

Probeer de lavendelcake, die is echt heel lekker! Personeel is erg behulpzaam en vriendelijk. Boven kan je leuk zitten en bij mooi weer ook op het terras.

Eten was zeer beneden de maat na 3 kwartier wachten. Dit eetcafé is kwalitatief geen enkele aanprijzing voor vegan food/drinks en de keuze op de menukaart was zeer gering. Absoluut geen aanrader!

Lo he encontré de casualidad paseando por el parque y me llamó mucho la atención la decoración de la terraza. Todos los productos de la carta frescos y naturales, pedí un zumo natural y una tostada de aguacate, estaba muy bien hecha, y de postre un carrot cake junto a un té matcha, buenisimoooo también! Estuve leyendo y escribiendo en la terraza súper a gusto, grata sorpresa de sitio! Se puede pagar con tarjeta 😊

Ik kom hier regelmatig en het is een super fijn plekje Je proeft dat het eten met zorg en liefde is bereid ,alles is vegan en volgens mij ook biologisch, Het is elke keer weer een verrassing wat voor taart er is en die zijn ook altijd prachtig en heerlijk. We zien vaak verschillende gezichten in de bediening maar ze zijn altijd vriendelijk

In verband met corona een take away high tea. 7 soorten thee, smoothies, smoothy bowl, cup cakes en ga maar door! Zeer smaakvol en vegan!
