A truly surprising location. Lots to do, and the food and drinks are great!

Self-service, but a chat with the nice young employees falls under service. Water for the dog was brought neatly. The food was not tested, due to limited offer, maybe next time. Nice interior, industrial, but still warm because of the lowered ceiling. Nice combination with sand terrace outside and cool music, invites you to go for a beer. Nice that the vintage hall is attached to it. In short: cool place on the canal.

Lovely venue and area! Sat at the terras for a burger and drinks. Reasonable prices, good portions and lovely terras. Recommended as better than Oosterhout city centre.

Very nice and cozy sitting! There is a QR code on the table + menu and the staff didn't really pay attention to us, which didn't feel very personal. Furthermore, a nice atmosphere and excellent food!

Nice place for a quick bite or drink. Can also organize a party. Extensive beer range and you can tap it yourself. If you want, you can also play pétanque. The downside is the distance to the city, which is a nice walk.

Care is neat. It is nicely set up. Friendly staff. The prices are on the high side. 2 x soft drinks and 6 bitterballen approx. 13 euros

Apparently an old factory where tables and chairs used to be made has been converted into a nice, cozy and attractive place to have a drink and eat. Nice music in the background and a large cupboard full of games that you can use. You can also use a table tennis table and a dart board there free of charge. Another nice thing, you get your drink yourself from different devices. Delicious coffee and tea come from a good machine, soft drinks come in cans from a refrigerator and you can tap the beer and wine yourself. All self-service. This saves staff and costs for drinks.

Went there late afternoon on Sunday with 2 families. Live music, nice atmosphere. Plenty to do for the kids (4 to 12 years). Prices are excellent, partly because you order via QR and pick up drinks and food yourself. Tasty food, enough for children to order. We will definitely come back!

Had a great time with a High beer. Our host Jeroen managed to take this high beer to an extra level by providing extra information about the beers. The dishes with the beers were a perfect combination.

Nice new "free" concept, grab your own food and drinks, the table will be cleared for you. Nicely decorated and nice hostess. I think it would be great fun for groups. Nice relaxed atmosphere, music, you can grab a board game from the games cabinet. Or even play jeu des boules. Food was very tasty

Had a wonderful evening with the grill menu. We really liked that everything was so "free". Getting your own drinks, children playing games. Couple of friends are playing darts. It felt very accessible. The food was really tasty. The host was very enthusiastic and had a smooth chat! Definitely a place to come back.

Hi, I was there for an office meeting and this is a really nice and quiet place near to the canal. We had a 7-8 hour event and it started in afternoon and lasted till somewhere around 11. At the entry you will find coffee vending machine inside a vintage Volkswagen van and just opposite to it you will have a place to get beer and wines. .there is a special place for kids to play and there are different activities room also. In the dinner we were served with 4 course and the dishes served were really nice in taste and the service was equally good. .

Had a great party at the Houthallen. Great choice of drinks, a very pleasant atmosphere, cozy and creative. Lots to do for kids. Nice and warm inside, which you might not expect at such a large location. Highly recommended!! Thank you team Houthallen for the good care!

Cozy, hip, self-service catering establishment that Oosterhout actually missed a bit. Perfect for having a drink and a small bite to eat. It's a real shame that it is closed during the week (Mon-Thurs), because the Houthallen in combination with the available workspaces of the Cultuurmakerij (in the back) would be a Valhalla for flex workers. I would be there several times a week!

Found it a bit disappointing. I am familiar with the Houtse Meer, which I really like. Same owner thought, so this must be a lot of fun. Unfortunately, you have to get your own beer from a vending machine and order snacks online. When ordering online you have to leave all your details, which I don't like. In addition, there are staff there, but you cannot order from them. Shame. It also looks nice to sit inside and outside.

"High Beer" was awesome. 5 great beers and 5 lovely dishes. A nice selection of beers too so both casuals and experts can enjoy!

Not a place you end up by chance. In that respect it is not in an attractive location. They did manage to make something attractive out of it. It looks very nice inside. Compliments. You can also sit outside. There are plenty of games for entertainment. Limited choice of beers on tap, but still plenty in the machine. Unfortunately, one was out of order. The concept of ordering and picking up yourself and tapping your own drinks or drawing them from a vending machine, personally appeals less to me.

Nice to do once. Don't like the environment. What a pity that there were cigarette butts in the sand. The table near the lounge sofa is too high and small. Especially if you are sitting with a number of people. The young lady at the counter is very friendly and so is the young man who came to pick up glasses and containers. Drinks are not expensive, but some dishes on the menu are.

Nice location for a drink on a beautiful summer day. It is self-service in terms of drinks, you can order snacks with a QR code at the table you are sitting at. Children can also play here on the landscaped "beach". There are toys available and you can also borrow games

A super fun idea for reusing a fantastic and iconic location. The staff members are friendly and helpful. The concept of (partly) self-service during COVID-19 is a great solution for contactless trading. However, when it comes to the food, something else comes first than the food, dear Oosterhouter, namely the price of the food as opposed to the quantity. At the cinemas they charge even more reasonable prices for such scantily dressed nachos, for example. No, either lower your price by at least a third of what you are currently asking or deliver value for your money. Room for improvement for the owner/entrepreneur

This holiday week I went there for drinks twice. We immediately ate something: Vikings bread cheese and a luxurious portion of Twister fries. Ice cream or coffee complete the experience. Nice place both inside and outside!

A nice hall with a surprising beer selection. The furnishings are very basic, but comfortable. There are nice paintings on the toilet. You can also have a nice barbecue there!
