On my birthday, six of us were warmly welcomed by the lovely hostess. We were given a great spot, first outside and later inside. We were pleasantly surprised by the delicious appetizers, main courses, and desserts. The chef even came out to explain the service while serving. It was all very friendly and personal. The restaurant was otherwise quiet, and we don't know why. This place deserves more guests. Highly recommended!

The food was delicious, the owners are incredibly friendly, highly recommended! Two small tips: - Lights, lanterns, candles, and other mood lighting would make the terrace much more inviting and inviting. The black parasols don't match the cozy atmosphere inside. We ate here a year ago. So it's time for a renewed acquaintance. The food is still very tasty. Well seasoned and not too big portions. Tasty soft wines from Macedonia. Atmosphere great with soft background music. And the service, by the 2 owners, is top. They are 2 very nice people. We will definitely come back.

Delicious food here! I was here a while ago when it was still called Smikkelen en Smullen. I liked it so much that I wanted to go here again. Now as the Kitchen of Damascus. We ordered a rice table and it had many tasty options. We also received extra bread for dipping when it was gone. The desserts were also tasty. Recommended!

A friendly couple who run a Syrian restaurant on the Heuvel in Oosterhout. The store has a nice open layout, lots of color and it looks and feels cozy. The stove burns well and the additional windows do their job to keep it comfortable. Despite my reservation, it didn't seem busy at first, but that quickly changed. We chose the tasting to get acquainted with Syrian cuisine. A turntable with various products was presented with a clear explanation. The food was delicate, tasty, mildly spiced but certainly not much. We chose baklava for dessert and I chose the semolina cake. Definitely tasty, but also limited. An Arabic coffee, which was served very weak. This couple is proud of their country and stands for its dishes, served with passion. 5 stars for their enthusiasm, but I would do something with the senior portions if the larger audience also wants to come.

I had dinner here with my girlfriend on Monday and it was really good. We chose the luxurious rice table with many Syrian dishes. Everything we had had a lot of flavor. Service was super friendly and the chef came to tell us what was on the table. All this with a lot of passion. Definitely recommended if you want to eat something different.

We recently visited Kitchen of Damascus and had a wonderful dining experience. As a starter we enjoyed a combination of baba ganoush, jalenge and hummus – all creamy and perfectly balanced in flavours. The main course was the Syrian Mixed Platter Deluxe, with tender chicken, tasty kebab, rice, salad and various deliciously prepared vegetables. What we really appreciated was that none of the dishes were too spicy, which allowed the natural flavors to shine through. To finish, we enjoyed a selection of Syrian desserts, including baklava, which were the perfect sweet end to the meal. We combined everything with a Rosé from North Macedonia. The service was exceptional. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and one of the highlights was the gentleman in traditional Syrian clothing who introduced the dishes with such passion. This really gave the evening a special touch. In short, a nice dining experience for anyone who wants to try something different that is not immediately obvious.

The cook enthusiastically came to tell us what he had prepared for us, but the chef's secret? He says.secret herbs. To finish the baklava with Syrian tea..... Delicious food here. Despite the fact that the name suggests otherwise, the restaurant has Syrian cuisine. The dishes are delicately seasoned with "secret ingredients" according to the chef who explains the dishes at the table. The hostess speaks Dutch and is very nice. The presentation of the dishes is very tasty. Definitely a place to go again.

Delicious food! The food is prepared with care (and secret spices 😉), authentic flavors, delicious! The atmosphere is very hospitable and warm, as if you were being welcomed into the owners' home. At the table, the owner explains exactly what everything is with your dishes, you feel the passion for their own food culture, which further benefits the entire taste experience! It wasn't very busy, which is surprising because this restaurant really deserves a visit. We will definitely come back for another taste sensation!

The food is great! The hostess and cook were incredibly friendly and hospitable. I personally ordered the tasting, which also includes beef with secret herbs. This was truly one of the tastiest things I have eaten in a long time. We will be back very soon, with others who we also want to let taste and experience it. I had eaten Syrian food in other Dutch cities before, but never as delicious as here, in Oosterhout. Highlights of Syrian cuisine, delicious and refined in taste, and prepared with great care. Deep respect for the owners who built this, impressive to see the photo of their beautiful house in Damascus with the special colors that now appear in the interior of the restaurant. As soon as we get near Oosterhout, we will come back.

We had a delicious rice table here. A good diversity of dishes, all very well prepared and wonderfully seasoned. In particular the fragrant rice with 7 herbs, the delicious homemade houmous, the stuffed vegetables and vine leaves and, not to forget, the homemade sweet treats, such as the baklava with Syrian whipped cream and the semolina cake. The service is very friendly and the owner/chef couple feeds us with their whole soul and bliss. You can taste that passion. The prices are also very reasonable. We definitely recommend this restaurant and would love to come back again.
