Nice shop with super friendly service.

Even shortly before closing time, all the employees were still very friendly and had a good sense of humor. The "Lemon Meringe" sundae was delicious and looked very appealing. The Americano (an Illy Crema) was also very tasty, and even the three scoops of ice cream we chose ourselves, served in a cup, were decorated with wafers and mint. We haven't often experienced that.

If you're vacationing in Domburg, a visit to De IJsvogel is a must. The service is incredibly friendly and the ice cream is absolutely delicious. Definitely try the cone with chocolate sauce and sprinkles :). It's a bit pricey: one scoop of ice cream costs €2.50, and a cone with chocolate and sprinkles is an extra €0.50. Nevertheless, it's well worth a visit.

Yesterday I received very friendly service when I came to get an ice cream with the children. The gentleman indicated that the children could take their time choosing their flavor. Very sweet, because choosing quickly seems desirable to me ☺️. In the end, there was no need to hesitate about which one to choose. They were all a solid ten! What delicious ice cream! You can imagine we didn't take a photo. We were completely absorbed by the delicious flavors, and it was gone in no time. See you soon!

Very tasty, the Bananarama is worth it, but the whipped cream a bit less so for the waffles considering the price difference. It was very cozy and delicious.

Truly delicious ice cream. I cycled all the way from the campsite 6km away with a cooler bag, especially so I could enjoy your ice cream again tonight after dinner. The tastiest yoghurt amarena cherry! Wonderfully full of big chunks of cherry. Pure enjoyment!

An incredibly nice place to sit. Our 3-year-old daughter needed to go to the toilet, even though we hadn't ordered yet. We were allowed to go straight to the toilet; we were directed to the changing area in the disabled toilet. After that, we had something to drink and eat. Highly recommended!!

An ice cream is always nice in this weather! My mother and I both chose the pistachio flavor. We do have to say, though, that the pistachio flavor could still be refined!

A real surprise after a tiring day at the beach. This place consistently delivers. The waffle batter is simply delicious and not too sweet. The lemon merengue is a feast for the eyes. The Hollands Glorie with the soaked raisins was also a hit. Keep it up! Two years later: The quality is still excellent. Friendly service. The strawberry yogurt was super delicious 😋

Thank you so much for the best ice cream in the world! The ice cream is made with love. You can taste the quality ingredients. It might be a little pricey, but it's definitely worth it. (The scoop is quite generous, too.) The service is very friendly. I'll definitely be back.

The absolute best ice cream I've ever had

Espresso 8.5/10. Taste was fine. Served in a pre-warmed cup with a water glass – just as it should be. Ice cream 10/10, authentic, fresh, not too sweet. Prices are on the higher side but absolutely justified given the location and quality.

The ice cream is amazing! I had vanilla and tiramisu, and it was delicious right to the end! (I usually have enough after one scoop)

The ice cream was good, but unfortunately the service was very unfriendly. We briefly sat down at some empty tables on the terrace after ordering our take-away ice cream in cups, but were then asked to leave, even though both the terrace and the indoor area were almost empty. This was especially disappointing as we were there with our two small children. The staff showed very little understanding or customer friendliness. Overall, not a pleasant experience.

The ice cream is really very good, but far too expensive. The Mocha Momentje (2 scoops, whipped cream, a little sauce) cost €8.50, and the Unicorn Sundae cost €6.50 for ONE (!) scoop of ice cream. Completely overpriced.

Until last year, you could get very tasty waffles and ice cream here. However, my last visit was a bitter disappointment. The waffle was dry and burnt in places, the vanilla ice cream was rather average, and the poffertjes were unfortunately very meager.

We can only speak to our experience with celiac disease... and it was truly fantastic. They provided individually wrapped gluten-free ice cream cones (which also tasted great) and even cleaned the ice cream scoop and used fresh ice cream from the back. Without even asking. On the contrary, they asked about other food intolerances. And the ice cream tasted amazing, too.

It's wonderful to relax on the terrace. Tea/coffee, Irish coffee, and delicious ice cream. We love coming to Domburg, and it tastes delicious. Also important, the friendly service is definitely a plus.

Bad experience, expensive scoop of ice cream, melted before we could find a place to eat it. We were chased off the patio in a very unpleasant manner. I read the notice on the display case and thought this was for inside. There was no sign outside saying you couldn't just eat your ice cream. We won't be back!!

We had a lovely weekend in Domburg. We had three wonderful breakfasts here. Perfectly prepared and very tasty. The service was friendly and welcoming. We even welcomed our dog. Besides breakfast, they also serve delicious sandwiches and a wide selection of ice cream.

Based on the many positive reviews, we visited Ijsvogel. We were a bit disappointed. The ice cream was okay, the atmosphere rather ordinary. In any case, nothing worth driving a long way for. The service was friendly, and the prices were fair for Domburg, which doesn't necessarily mean the quality is in line with what you get. All in all, OK, but not a wow experience.

Very good ice cream and they even have vegan cones and many sorbets including chocolate sorbet! <3 I recommend it.

Ice cream sundaes are tasty, but very unfriendly to children... The lady thought we were gone while I was washing my hands, I hear her say to her colleague: the next time they want to sit here we will say that we have no room... we were gone in half an hour and just left a tip, quickly earned, you would think. We won't be coming back here again, so madam is in the mood.

Delicious breakfast! Very friendly, neat employees! An accidentally knocked over glass was immediately cleaned up without any effort. We had a breakfast board for 2 people. It was well stocked with many different and tasty things!

The best ice cream in the Netherlands! Not cheap, but very worth it.

Het is eigenlijk een ijs- koffie restaurant maar wij kwamen er voor het ontbijt. Wij hebben hier 2 dagen prima ontbeten. Het was echt heerlijk en smakelijk en tevens een heel vriendelijke bediening! Jammer dat er zo weinig reviews van dit leuke restaurant zijn. Ik kan niets anders dan dit restaurant met 5 sterren beoordelen!

Gut und teuer. Service lässig, Cappuccino, Kakao und Kuchen sehr lecker. Eis schmeckt auch im Winter. Toiletten nicht zeitgemäß.

The ambience is still very nice. Unfortunately a disappointment with the “teabox”. The price has increased (which I think is ok if the performance remains the same). Unfortunately the scones shrank to a third, so it doesn't help that they came three instead of two. Unfortunately only cream instead of clotted cream. It's a shame, it used to be excellent 🤷‍♀️

This could have been a nice photo of 2 cups of delicious coffee. We have been coming for years to enjoy a cup of coffee and something tasty at De Ijsvogel during our holidays in Domburg. Today we wanted to do that too and after dinner we rushed to the kingfisher because they are closing at 6:00 PM, we arrived just after 5:30 PM and wanted to order coffee but were turned away, “because we are closing” was the errand. I am very disappointed in your service (we would have finished those 2 cups of coffee well before closing time)

The mocha ice cream is delicious. Intense coffee flavor. Too bad there is only 1 sofa on the terrace that is usually occupied. Would like some more chairs so you can enjoy your ice cream.

Ice cream too expensive 1 small scoop of ice cream in a cone for 2.50 euros is really too expensive. Moreover, we were asked to leave the terrace because it was not the intention to eat ice cream there. There was no indication anywhere that this was not allowed. Too bad because we would have also wanted to have a cup of coffee, but then the fun is over.

I really don't understand what people are complaining about in the reviews. I live at the end of the street and this is our regular address for ice cream. Staff is super nice, the ice cream flavors are diverse and handmade, the price is fair for the current economy. 10/10 ♥️

Very regular Eis Creme you know from your supermarket for very exclusive prices. For 2,5€small and app 8€ or so for extra big scoop (which is kind of ridiculous) you would expect something special but it is not. It is not bad, it is just regular, normal, eatable. Price- quality is not justifiable. Long lines does not mean good food, it means busy city, since long lines were everywhere

Just relaxing 😎 ☀️sitting on the terrace was not an option.😢 We took a seat on the terrace to have a drink and order an ice cream. The children were looking in the display case to see what kind of ice cream they had🍨🍦 and the employees were helpful👌🏻. The lady on the terrace indicated that she would come to take our drink order ☕️ once we had ordered the ice cream and the employee at the display case indicated that she would put it on our table's bill. Then the owner came and said that was not the intention (It is not a snack bar here.) The tone and atmosphere were immediately set. 👎🏻 No, I didn't see the note on the display case!!
