Highly recommended. The portions are generously sized and beautifully presented. You'll definitely leave satisfied. The service is also incredibly friendly!

It's very cozy here too. The service was nice and friendly. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. Everything was great. We had an omelet and a Strammer Max (open-faced sandwich with ham and egg). Both were excellent. Still open in December.

It's actually very quiet at the moment. Many shops are closed, hardly any visitors.

We had a very pleasant evening with good food and attentive service... Next time we visit Zoutelande, a visit to "de babbel" is on our to-do list.

We sat on the terrace in the sunshine and enjoyed mussels. They were delicious. We hadn't booked, but luckily there was a table for two available. It was a bit cramped, but manageable.

A very spacious restaurant with a large terrace. Very friendly service. We opted for a starter to share (which was no problem at all): scampi in spicy sauce. For the main course, we had a generous portion of delicious mussels (for two people) with fries and two sauces. For dessert, I had strawberry trifle and my partner had dame blanche. Everything was deliciously prepared, and the service was pleasant and efficient.

The food was delicious. The atmosphere is difficult to judge due to the coastal marathon. We couldn't hear each other over the loudspeaker, but the restaurant couldn't do anything about that.

Great restaurant, very good, fast, and friendly service in a pleasant atmosphere. We had a quick bite to eat and were very satisfied. Even small meals here will satisfy even the smallest of meals. The kitchen is very flexible and can accommodate food intolerances. Very good value for money. We'll be in Zeeland for a while and will definitely be back.

We were here on Boxing Day for the Christmas menu. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff incredibly friendly. It's super cozy, and we'd love to come back.

We wanted to drink a cold beer after a long bike ride, but unfortunately it didn't work out. The draft beer was nothing... no carbonation, no foam, the thumb to the Eichsteich was missing, the taste was strange as if it was the leftover from the tap from the day before... What a pity

We had a really nice meal tonight, we had mussels and my wife had a fish dish, the service was smooth and friendly.

It was so lovely sitting on the terrace on a balmy summer evening...afterwards we ate inside, the sharing platter was delicious...wine and beer for the four of us. Mussels, delicious schnitzel, a nice, large, and good piece of meat...nice, cozy, knowledgeable, and friendly staff...luckily, there was enough time between courses...which was super nice in our case. We always enjoy our time at De Babbel restaurant in Zoutelande. The food is delicious, and so are the drinks. The staff is friendly and helpful. Whenever we're in Walcheren, we always go there.

The food was very mediocre. I had focaccia with mortadella and burrata. The mortadella tasted like sandwich meat, and the burrata was hard and dried out. Far from the fresh, creamy burrata it should be. The focaccia was also very dry, not crispy or warm. If you've been to Italy, you know what this is supposed to taste like. A huge missed opportunity. The ladies at the table were very friendly, albeit young, but professional.

Yes...there are better places...and the prices are especially shocking.

I had read the reviews so I thought I'd come here and have a nice meal. At first it was nice and cozy. She came quickly to take our order, fine, drinks came and right after the starter, after the starter it all went wrong, then we had to wait a long time for the main course. After waiting 50 minutes the same girl came by. I politely asked when the food was coming. She mumbled and just walked away. I gradually got angry, people in front and behind us came to sit and order and got their food quickly, and after 1.5 hours we did too. The staff started against me, until I said I'll write something about it, then sorry here, apologies there. I said just be honest, mistakes can happen but fix it and don't walk away.

We were there with our dog and two small children, and it was fantastic. Both the food and the service were excellent. Friendly and always with a smile. We'd go back anytime and it was a great way to end our vacation. 🙏

A warm welcome and a lovely setting. We had a delicious, large sole, really large and well-cooked. Highly recommended.

We came here especially because we'd read that they had gluten-free poffertjes. Yes, they were available. No, they weren't fresh. My portion was cold to lukewarm, and very few were truly hot. Therefore, I can't recommend them for their taste—a shame!

We only had one coffee and one hot chocolate there. The coffee was good, but unfortunately, the hot chocolate was made with water and therefore not very good. The waitress brought and picked up the drinks without a tablet, which we personally found very unhygienic, as the drinks were touched on the top edge.

We spent a week in Zoutelande at the end of June. We had dinner here twice with six people and visited the terrace a few times. The staff was fantastic, friendly and attentive, and attentive to their guests. The food was the best we had in Zoutelande. Whether it was fish, meat, or vegetarian, everything was delicious. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it.

A good restaurant for breakfast, offering a variety of dishes, from fried eggs with bacon and cheese on bread to yogurt with fruit, muesli, and croissants. However, the overall price can be the same as other breakfast buffets. The yogurt with fruit and muesli was delicious 😋, as were the croissants. Deliciously crispy and freshly baked. I highly recommend the breakfast. You can sit comfortably in the shade or sun on the large terrace. Parking is available in a paid parking lot a little further away.

Nice menu with delicious dishes.

During our short vacation, we ate at De Babbel twice in the evening. It's a lovely restaurant with outdoor seating. We found a table even without a reservation. The service was excellent. There were no long waits, and they kept checking in to see if everything was okay and if we wanted something to drink, which was always the norm. We had schnitzel one day and fish (plaice) the next; both times the food was delicious and plentiful. The prices are actually reasonable for a tourist destination. We can definitely recommend this café.

Had coffee there, you get your coffee in a porcelain cup and a thin biscuit in a stainless steel cup with sugar and milk. €6.40 for coffee and a cappuccino.

I have to say that the squid rings were very tasty but I didn't like the salad because of the sauce on it. I mentioned this but nothing was done about it! They were also on their phone a lot and we had to wait almost half an hour after our starter, which is a shame. Had breakfast here, food was good but cappuccino from machine tasteless watery, a disgrace to serve that to customers and dare to charge 3.50 for it! Water has more taste. Walk around the corner to Brood en Brunch 't Hof where they make real cappuccino!

Easily accessible on foot. Parking is available in the immediate vicinity due to the shopping street, but not directly in front of the store.

Recently visited with the wife. We had something to eat and drink, the Pepsi cola was quite expensive. When I tasted it I immediately sent it back there was no fizz in it apparently it is Pepsi from the machine, a composition of syrup and sparkling water, a refectory cola. This for the price of 3.7€ if I remember correctly I find this not done, I just had a sparkling water.

4 Euro entry fee to take friends to the airport...I find that absolutely outrageous, a rip-off.

Busy in the center of the village.

After watching a ring tilting match, we had a delicious lunch: the croquettes and the Classic lunch.. spelt bread with fried egg, croquette 😋 and smoked salmon, richly topped 👍🏼! And a Gentse Strop with it! In short, fantastic!

Pleasantly busy with nice weather, it's a pleasant place to sit.

Pssst, don't tell anyone, the cheesecake is absolutely amazing, but, shhh. 😉

We enjoyed a delicious lunch platter, with many different dishes. No standard dishes, but really special, and of very high quality, really super good. recommended!

If I pay €25 for a regular-sized schnitzel with fries, fried mushrooms, and a small portion of green salad with a drizzle of dressing, I expect the meat to be cooked to perfection. And the restaurant wasn't even full. So, not excessive demand, but rather a lack of enthusiasm? I'm willing to pay the price, but the value for money has to be right.

We had coffee, tea and apple pie... deliciously homemade

Unfortunately, the renovations are a total disappointment. The delicious pizzas are no longer available. There's no counter for ordering directly; instead, there are electronic terminals that are incredibly slow and swallow a lot of the order, so the ordering process takes forever. Additional requests are no longer possible. Unfortunately, something has been "broken XXL rationalization" here. Truly sad!

Unappetizing greasy hamburger but good service

We had fish and chips, which was delicious and a large portion. Right at the entrance to the pedestrian zone, so it was busy.

De Babbel.... when we arrive in Zoutelande our first step is to De Babbel for a nice coffee and in the evening we end there with a nice dinner👍. At the moment there are new people in the service... they are young which is great but they are also a bit pushy i.e. we were not even sitting down in the evening or they already asked what we wanted to drink and eat... after 5 minutes it was asked again... you are allowed to look at the menu before you decide and order? Actually they alternated with 3 people to come and ask each time... do you need anything else??? All in all we are satisfied and once the holiday period is underway they will no longer have time to go to the same table 6 times😉!

Delicious ice cream, but not cheap

Nice tent, food was fine. The soft drinks are a big area for improvement. We ordered Coke Zero and got a glass of dead syringe junk without ice for around €4. So if you eat here, take Cassis or something and you will get a bottle. There was also one employee who was clearly not in a good mood, but the blonde girl made up for it, she was neat.

Good music, very friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Service is quick and attentive. Toilets are very clean. Dogs welcome.

We just drank something on the terrace and didn't eat anything. So I can't rate the quality of the food. Unfortunately, both cocktails (1x with alcohol, 1x virgin) didn't impress us in terms of taste, which is why the high price of €23 hurt a bit. After all, the terrace is very suitable for people watching

I was there for breakfast and decided on the "tight Max". There was salad on the plate as a side dish. I really enjoyed the food, and the salad in particular was really tasty (which is often left on other people's plates as part of the meal, but unfortunately it just tastes like a necessary evil - not here at De Babbel!). Given the quantity, the breakfast was not only delicious, but it also filled me up. The cheerful service was attentive without being intrusive and very friendly. In terms of price, for a tourist and holiday resort it is in the usual range for a breakfast of around €4-18 (without a drink).

After a long walk, I felt like having coffee and a toasted sandwich. When I ordered, it turned out to be 5 to 12. Well, toasted sandwiches are considered lunch, and that is only possible from 12 o'clock. (So we only had coffee, because we didn't feel like having a croissant with ham and cheese. That was considered breakfast). There was one other table, so it's not like the chef was very busy. (It was April 1st, yes, but there was no smile. No tip either). Next time somewhere else, but you understand ;-).

The Ribeye was delicious. Service could be a bit better. Taking away your empty can too quickly.

Look beyond the appearance of the outside. We were pleasantly surprised. Delicious food. Pleasant service.
