De pub in Wijk 06 Ypestein

I was there on December 4th, but I was so disappointed. High tea wasn't like it used to be. You got very little, there was no smoothie, and the mini cakes weren't either. You had two round ones, a muffin that was dry, a cottage cheese roll, a bit of whipped cream, a chocolate brownie, and a bowl of blueberries and two raspberries, that was it. The teapot was empty after fifteen minutes, and you had to ask for it yourself. They were more interested in eating their croquettes than giving customers the good service we're used to! Normally, there was that nice, sweet, friendly hostess, but I heard she's gone too. What a terrible business it's become. I said I'll never come here again, such a shame. The reservation was also strange, hmmm, strange, and now suddenly closed, well...

Monique and Nico, and Marja and all the other staff, of course, thank you for the years of fun and delicious food. Sadly, all good things must come to an end, but enjoy the free time you've been given twice over. It will never be as wonderful as it was on the square...

It's a truly delicious and well-run restaurant, with just one chef and one lady running everything. The service is excellent, and it's also nice that it's quiet. The food is fantastic, truly plentiful, and perfect for an Indian diner. Highly recommended!

I drove all the way from Krommenie specifically to this place for the ice cream. I checked the opening hours before leaving. 9:00 PM. Great. I arrived at 8:00 PM. I wanted coffee, because if you advertise coffee and ice cream, and the ice cream is so good, I can assume the coffee is good too. The machine had just been cleaned, so there was no coffee in it. And I find that odd. Ten minutes before closing? Fine. I get that. Cleaning everything an hour before closing? I find that odd and unfriendly. And then three teenagers come up with excuses that that's how it works in the hospitality industry, and that some inn down the road still serves coffee. I guess the message didn't get through. I'm here for your coffee. "Usually no one comes in the last hour," was the answer. Then a group of six comes in, and after that two more couples. A lame excuse, from an unfriendly employee. What a disappointment. After my ice cream, I left a crowded restaurant without saying a word, and the staff stared at me as if I was the rude one. The bottom line is, if I'm in the area, it's fine, but I'm not going to make the detour again. Google said it was "busier than usual." I'd made coffee for my customer, then back to cleaning. Imagine having to wait an extra 5 minutes.

We had a pleasant and delicious meal.
