I chose De Resident in the food hall because I simply love a good steak. Of course, I was a little skeptical whether the food would live up to the visual appeal, especially since it's a kind of "street food," but I wasn't disappointed! The steak fries were incredibly delicious, the meat was absolutely not dry—medium-rare, tender, and with an outstanding flavor. Top-notch!

A well-organized and well-maintained environment. Everything feels clear and organized, which contributes to a stable atmosphere. Additionally, the food was surprisingly good. The chicken burger, hamburger, and ribs were well prepared and flavorful. Simply solid, without being complicated. The staff comes across as professional and engaged without being intrusive. This creates a pleasant balance in the interaction.

The place is located inside a food court area right on the beach, which gives it a really nice and relaxed vibe. There are plenty of options to choose from around, and a central bar in the middle that ties everything together. I chose this spot specifically for the steak and fries, and it did not disappoint. The beef was cooked perfectly—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The fries were crunchy and well-seasoned, and the sauce was excellent, complementing everything really well. Overall, a great choice if you’re in the area and looking for a satisfying meal.

This is a good option in the Foodhallen. We had the chicken burger, which was okay, the hamburger, which was nice, and the ribs, which were below average. The fries were nice and crispy, I liked them. Prices are reasonable. Recommended.

We were here a year ago and came back again this holiday to order steak fries again. HEAVENLY. Super tender meat, perfectly seasoned, and served with a delicious truffle sauce.

The food hall itself is an ideal spot for a snack or a main course, and its variety is sure to please. "De Resident" seems to want to prove its worth as the longest-serving "food hall" (since 1977), as word of mouth speaks for its high quality standards. Well, yes... I can definitely confirm it. I opted for the steak fries with extra truffle mayo. The fries themselves were beautifully fried "al dente," crispy, and made no mistake in terms of flavor. Prepared just right: crispy and without unnecessary traces of frying oil, plus well-seasoned. The meat was absolutely delicious. The quality of the Angus beef can be tasted in every bite. The meat was cooked almost perfectly to rare. Slightly pink/rare in the center and seared on the outside. Simply a delight. The truffle mayo is intense in flavor, but not so overpowering that you can't enjoy the rest of the dish. It's a perfect topping. Conclusion: A simple dish that has most likely been refined over decades of experience. Therefore, I think it's justified that the stand (the restaurant) displays its founding year, 1977, directly beneath the logo.

Little meat is filled with fries and that for that price. Staff is very rude and coarse especially those with blond dyed hair.

Had a bizarre experience today with the resident. While ordering my food on the screen, I saw to my surprise that the boy with the failed blond hair was in his nose and was peaking something. Then he went back to grabbing the food with the same hand as if nothing had happened. After seeing this, I just walked on and ordered at gyros express since the hygiene is in order there.

Always have the steak fries and it is definitely recommended. But this time I had the garlic cheese steak sandwich. It was delicious. The steak is always very tender and juicy, the fries are nice and crispy and there is always a nice truffle sauce. Also always friendly staff.

Just had a steak sandwich on brioche bread with tarragon sauce. I don't know if I can say that, but it's so tasty. Foodhallen is not cheap, but if you get one here for 16 euros you will have a front row seat for next to nothing.

During a tour through the Foodhall Scheveningen, we noticed De Resident. We saw the beautifully presented dishes ready to be served and it immediately caught our attention. What a top service! While we were hesitating between chicken and meat, the friendly Moroccan young man came to our rescue. He recommended the meat and let us taste a deliciously tender piece - we were immediately sold. But the chicken also looked irresistible, so we decided to have both: Chicken Things and Steak Fries. And wow… what a taste! As if that wasn't enough, we also received cheesy garlic bread on the house as a surprise. A small gesture, but it made the experience extra special. The slogan on the signs, “One of those things worth trying”, is more than justified. In short: delicious food, great service and an employee who really has a passion for his work. We will definitely come back!!
