Good cafe for a short break, shame about the price of the soup 6.95 euros, but I guess that's what they have to do on days like these.

I ate here with two friends. We started with two Affligems and one Sauvignon Blanc. One beer went flat immediately, and the house wine had no aftertaste. I had three shrimp croquettes with bread. The others had fried mushrooms. These were okay. The main course, with fried mussels with too much onion and bell pepper, was more of an appetizer. The spare ribs and the satay pork tenderloin were more like main courses. The fries came separately for one person, and the other two had to share them!?!? A very small container of mayonnaise had to be shared between the three of us. There was also one small container of raw vegetables for the three of us. This was actually a single portion. If you then pay €105 with two average desserts and one coffee, it's not worth it.

We made a reservation at the restaurant to celebrate our birthdays, and it was absolutely AMAZING! So wonderful, so professional, so thoughtful about everything. Highly recommended. We had an unforgettable afternoon/evening. The staff were so sweet, and everything went fantastically. Everyone had a truly wonderful evening. The food was perfect. Everything was perfect. We come here regularly for drinks and dinner. Always delicious, and the service is friendly. Lovely terrace.

Lovely little restaurant/cafe. Great atmosphere and excellent food. The mayo ball is excellent, but the cordon bleu is "the best." When it's busy outside on the terrace, the service is a bit slow, but the wait for the food is more than worth it.

I've been driving past it for 40 years, and I finally had lunch here. Pleasantly surprised! I think I'll have dinner there soon.

During my stay at nature camping site Ruigenhoek I had a delicious meal here: break bread with spreads and a chicken satay. And because it was the last evening of my tour of North Holland, a syrup waffle ice cream for dessert.

The cycling 3-day Flower Bulb routes started here. 3 days of 40 km plotted via junctions. 3 days of wind from the North but dry. So a cup of tea before the start.

After not being able to stop at the snack car for a number of years (thanks to the municipality of Noordwijk and mispermits), I decided to sit at Ruigenhoek. Nice terrace for when the sun shines. Finally ate a decent chicken satay again with 3 sticks of satay. (As it should be) Informal atmosphere, normal, not that overly unnecessary fancy stuff. Nice service.

The sommelier was excellent! I believe his name was Niels. The knowledge to sell a smooth wine made our experience 5 stars. See you soon!

Delicious meal with friends. No expectations because I thought it was a somewhat dated restaurant, but everything was different. Friendly and good service, excellent food, nice informal atmosphere, reasonable prices and just a nice living room restaurant around the corner from Hillegom. We'll be back.

This is a good address, highly recommended. Reasonably priced, staff that is knowledgeable and friendly. Nice terrace in the sun. In short, highly recommended for a drink and a meal, good quality/price ratio. Good meatball!

My brother turned 50 and we were then able to rent a part of the Ruigenhoek. We were allowed to hang up some small decorations ourselves, that was no problem. The service was really great!!! We had forgotten to bring the candles for the cake and asked the staff if they could arrange something... and yes, fireworks, everything was turned on for a long time to come on the radio, absolutely great!! Very friendly service and quick actions. We also stayed for dinner with 30 people and it all happened in quick succession. We really had a great party!! Will definitely come back again!!

Super good dining experience. Fantastic service. It is a cafe, so there are also guests who just come to have a drink at the bar. Very cozy but a bit busy.

A really lovely restaurant spot near the flower fields. Parking is plenty just on the side of the roads. Food is very delicious and the portions are plentiful. Service is pretty good for Dutch standards but can be a little slow if you come during the buzzing hours of lunch/dinners. However, if you are here in the bulb region you need to slow down, grab a drink and order some nice food to just enjoy the easy going vibe of Dutch lifestyle.

Delicious vegetarian food. They can also take allergies into account. We were there on Easter Monday.

Great place for lunch, dinner or a drink. For example, after a visit to the Keukenhof. Parking in front of the door and located next to the N206 from Haarlem to Leiden.

Excellent dining experience after long cycling day, they have variety of dishes. The terrace is lovely and staff are helpful, the also accommodate pets which is important. Food quality is excellent, restaurant is clean. The only negative comment I have is that the prices were higher than the menu, still it is not expensive compared to other restaurants in The Netherlands

Every year we visit the bulb fields and have lunch at De Ruigenhoek. Cozy atmosphere, not as hyped up as you see nowadays. Very friendly service and wide choice on the menu. The steak was very tasty, the gravy topped it off. My partner's schnitzel also looked delicious. The prices are fair. Next year again.

It smells bad inside, the table was broken, pieces were missing from both plates. The service is good-willed but very young and inexperienced. Although it really wasn't busy, we had to wait a long time for the sandwich.

Urige Dorfgaststätte mit schmackhafter niederländischer Küche. Preiswerte Gerichte mit sehr ordentlicher Qualität, z.B. Burger Menü mit Fritten und Salat und Burger mit selbst gemachtem Hackfleisch-Klops und knusprigem Brötchen 15,50 €. Originelle leckere kleine Desserts, ebenfalls günstig. Verkehrsgünstig gelegen in der Nähe der Amsterdamer Wasserspeicher-Dünen.

Prima “gewoon” restaurant. Je krijgt waar voor je geld. Netjes aan de prijs. Kinderstoel er bij, gewone stoel erbij is geen probleem. Lekker biertje en een prima wijntje. 👍

Heel erg lekker gegeten, een super goede biefstuk, medium rare. Lekkere salade, ruim majo bij de patat en gebakken aardappeltjes. We hebben afgelopen zaterdag onze 45 jarige huwelijksfeest bij de Ruigenhoek gevierd. Op advies van Mart en Niels hadden we een Walking dinner. Het was perfect geregeld, heerlijke hapjes, drankjes, iedereen genoot van het eten, de gezelligheid, de drankjes. De bediening, de kwaliteit van het eten, de gastvrijheid, de vriendelijkheid etc alles was van topkwaliteit. Echt een aanrader voor iedereen die wat te vieren heeft.

Goed gegeten en gezellige avond gehad. Wij komen hier al jaren en het is hier altijd voortreffelijk. Vooral de persoonlijke aandacht bij de bediening

Leuke plek, ruimtelijke terras en gezellig binnen als buiten. Vriendelijk personeel en eten goed en niet duur, vergeet niet tafel te reserveren. En zit jij in de vakantiepark schuin tegenover is de afstand te overbruggen, 800 m 😁

Great place for a relaxed meal - friendly staff and really wonderful food - would recommend both the meat and veggie burgers - and chips !! If you are in the area do pop in for a drink or food - and watch the cyclists go by
