I ordered eel in green sauce, which was absolutely terrible. The quality of the fish wasn't great, but the taste was absolutely awful. I left the entire plate, mentioned it, and nothing was done about it. The atmosphere was also nonexistent, but the service was friendly, that's the only thing. Overpriced, no atmosphere, and the food was terrible.

This is a very down-to-earth fish restaurant. Not much frills, just enjoy the food and relax. Recommended.

After booking online through their website, we received a very unfriendly welcome, and the owner claimed we hadn't made a reservation. It seemed like too much trouble to give us a table when the restaurant was completely empty. It's a shame, because this doesn't give a hospitable impression, and we felt anything but welcome. The interior is outdated, tables weren't cleared promptly, and drinks weren't offered spontaneously even though our glasses were empty. The food was okay, but not what I expected from an "authentic" restaurant that's "been around for 80 years" in this village, serving delicious fish. A noisy regular was sitting at the bar, which made the atmosphere less pleasant. All in all, not a pleasant experience and not recommended.

We've come from Belgium a few times because we love the mussels here and the terrace is pleasantly cozy. Yesterday, the four of us went for dinner again, and the food was excellent. I find what I've read about the service in some reviews rather harsh. The staff are young, that's true, but they really go the extra mile, are pleasant to talk to, and friendly. A wonderful experience!

Excellent restaurant with delicious, authentic dishes. The service isn't particularly experienced, but it is very friendly and helpful. If you love parrots, you'll be amazed. Large cages where you can admire them in pairs.

In the summer, it's lovely to sit outside on the terrace, and this is a very good value for money. The wine comes from a barrel, poured into an unlabeled bottle, but it's definitely more than drinkable. We had the seafood platter, which was generous, with delicious mussels, oysters au gratin, cockles, half lobster, and crab claws. One generous portion, perhaps not as refined as in top seafood restaurants, but we certainly enjoyed it.

On the menu you had a wide choice. The dishes were big enough. At the Mussels Jumbo I had a few crackers. We had to wait quite a long time for our food. The owner is not exactly friendly.

This place is really old-fashioned. Owner does not make contact, the girls in the service create the atmosphere but are very inexperienced. Mussels were tasty, house wine in bottle without label that is brought open to the table is not Dutch. Anyway, nice food, will not come back.

Vreselijk! We gingen hier binnen omdat er in de andere zaken geen plaats meer was. De mosselen waren overkookt en veel te duur.

Pas très bien accueilli. Pas servi correctement. Appelle de la serveuse ne répond pas . Demande du pain à 4 reprise en ayant au comptoirs fin du repas toujours pas de pains…on nous a apporté les plats sans couverts , nous avons du attendre encore 5 minutes . Op donderdag 3 april. hier terecht gekomen omdat wij bij een ander voor gesloten deur stonden ondanks een reservering De schelde is een beetje gedateerd, we werden vriendelijk ontvangen. We bestelde een tomatensoep en uiensoep mijn uiensoep was goed gevuld er was geroosterd brood met uien kaas en ham. Daarna steak met pepersaus met friet en aardappel schijfjes en salade. Alles werd optijd geserveerd De schelde heeft onze teleurstelling van de vorige zaak ruimschoots goedgemaakt

The food is really good. We took menu 2 as a main course and baked oysters as a starter. The lobster was so delicious and tender. Simply a good end to our vacation. Highly recommended if you want to go out for a good meal.

Hun website is misleidend, goedkoop aangegeven maar terplaatse gekomen was alles super duur. Ook de gerechten die aangegeven zijn kloppen niet. Heel misleidend. De lokatie was ongezellig, niet voorbereid om eters te ontvangen. Een refter is nog gezelliger dan deze lokatie De wijn ,, chardonay.kwamin een fles zonder etiket op!.. Ocharme het dienstertje ze heeft dit al maanden moeten horen. Verschillende klanten gingen gewoon buiten. Schandalig

A weekend away in Goes and I started craving lobster. Just googled: found this restaurant. More than worth the drive from Goes to Yerseke. Authentic restaurant: the locals eat there too. The atmosphere is intimate and pleasantly village-like. I like. Two ladies serving were super sweet and helpful. We chose the Fruits de Mer dish, with lobster, crab, mussels, prawns, grilled oysters and periwinkles. What a party! All equally delicious. The mussels and prawns deserve an extra star.

Food was more than 2 years ago, but was so good that I can't resist writing a review tz. I'll send everyone there. Simple and tasty. Friendly service, grilled oysters are top notch.

I won't eat here again in my life! Mussels were okay, the steak was cut incorrectly, which of course a chef cannot do anything about, it was also overcooked, and the chef could do something about that. The pan of butter was thrown over the steak, causing the plate to be full of grease and so was the salad, which was an unnecessary luxury in addition to the excess dressing. Staff is very incompetent, did not understand my Dutch speaking company and all hygiene rules were ignored! The restaurant shouted thunder in Polish, which is not really tactical, but very stupid! The remains of the cleared tables were distributed among staff and regular pub tigers. And to top it all off, we got an ice cream that could have passed for children's ice cream, but after complaining we were still allowed to pay €9.50.

Ate with 4 adults and 2 children, price/quality and ambiance was a bit disappointing. Mussels and cod were tasty, but pricey. The pork tenderloin (which was served too dry and without sauce) and the snitzel (which was only served after the rest had almost finished eating, tasted dry and came with mushrooms while it was clearly stated without) were disappointing. We won't be going back here again.

Ik kwam hier aan op OLV-Hemelvaart. Omdat alles van de luxerestaurants vol zat hier maar een tafeltje genomen, dat was geen probleem. De mosselen besteld met frietjes. Eerlijk is eerlijk, dit waren de beste en meest verse mosselen die ik ooit gegeten heb. Voor mensen die een restaurant-ervaring willen echter deze boodschap. Dit heeft meer weg van een café waar eten geserveerd wordt. De bediening is haastig en paniekerig en sommige diensters lopen er bezweet en slordig bij. Vriendelijk zijn ze wel. Als je bereid bent dit erbij te nemen, eet je hier heel lekkere mosselen ...niks op aan te merken. Ik heb er al slechter gegeten, maar niet hier. Ik kom zeker nog eens terug.

That was nothing! The turbot was totally soft! Totally strange for a baked fish. The second fish also tasted better, but looked anything but salmon! The Schnitzel was also rather average.🤷‍♂️ Ribs were ok! We don't have to go there anymore.

For us it was not nice to be there. Service terrible and unfriendly, food not nice for that much money. Rather unpleasant attitude owner they lost there ability to threat you as a quest and make you feel good and give you a nice evening.

Without a reservation and with two four-legged friends in the company, it is sometimes difficult to be admitted to a restaurant. At restaurant De Schelde, despite the fact that it was fully reserved, it was immediately possible to sit at a table. The attentive staff immediately provided a warm welcome. Our four-legged friends immediately received a fresh bowl of water and were able to lie down next to the table. The food was excellently prepared and all dishes ordered tasted excellent. An authentic restaurant and brown café that evokes the nostalgia of yesteryear.

Als je onbeschoft behandeld wil worden en slecht eten wil voor veel geld dan is de Schelde een goede keuze .. wij hebben nog nooit zoiets meegemaakt..

Food was a canteen standard. Otherwise service, ambience, facilities ok.

It is pleasant to spend time in the café. Nice for a quick bite. Our mussels had some sand, unfortunately. Service was good.

Ontvangst door de dienster was heel vriendelijk. Eten was warm en heel lekker. Zowel de kreeft, de mosselen als de sliptong Minpuntje was dat er een man bediende die er heel slordig bijliep, dit in groot contrast met de diensters. Ook aandacht voor de website a.u.b.; de prijzen kloppen niet.

Restaurant in Yerseke aan de dijk. Eten toast met paling was zeker lekker, alleen veel te duur. 3 kleine toastjes met net in totaal een halve paling en dat voor €14 en voor een handje vol garnalen €15. Zijn jullie gek geworden, jullie zijn geen Michelin ster. Nee dit nooit weer. Ik weet wel na de menukaart te hebben gezien, om daar niet te gaan eten, maar de prijs is hier helemaal zoek!!!!!

A good place for a pit stop if you have an e-bike, I counted 16 charging points in the seating area to the rear. And they are happy for you to use them for free (I expect the actual cost in electricity for them is only a couple of cents).

Pickled vegetables (so 1970s) make your entire plate sour. As many fries for 4 people as the chip shop around the corner for 1 person. 'Boss' is a gruff man. Food is not worth a detour and certainly not for the price

On Sunday I visited this restaurant for the first time. My partner and parents-in-law had already told me about this restaurant several times. They have been coming here for years. Long story short… I have never seen or experienced such disrespectful service. I left after 10 minutes, disappointed because we didn't want to stay here a minute longer (after paying a bill of almost 150 euros). - the customer's wishes are not taken into account (placing a table outside was too much effort for us, but not for other customers) - the terrace is full of bird cages but if you look at the birds or get too close to their cage, the manager will give you the full charge - surly and unfriendly service This is the first review I'm writing in my life because I was so upset. The rule “customer is king” clearly does not apply here. Too bad, but they won't see us here again.

Bediening niet erg spraakzaam ook geen vraag of je nog wat wilde drinken terwijl de glazen leeg waren als je wat wil verdienen

Tijdens bezoek Yerseke. Voor ons Vlamingen het dorp van de geliefde mosselen een gezellig restaurant Eten en bediening waren prima.

Lekker, genieten en een prachtig weertje onze dag kan niet meer stuk.

Bestaat al heel lang is bekend voor zijn mosselen sliptong en er komen heel veel Vlaming vooral van Antwerpen parkeren kan aan de achterzijde van de zaak.

Lekkere mosselen gegeten. Portie was voldoende. Helaas komen ze niet langs om de overvolle pot lege schelpen op te halen of om frietjes bij te bestellen.

Voor het eerst geweest. Eten was goed, garnalenkroketjes en gebakkenpaling, Bediening was vriendelijk en snel. Ambiance beetje gedateerd

Chagarijnige bediening, te weinig menukaarten die ook nog eens niet kloppen, lang wachten op het eten en gort droge slibtong. Dus geen goede ervaring, maar de mosselen waren wel top!

Hier kan men heel lekker eten voor prijzen van voor de corona......

Lekkere mosselen , goed gekruid en heerlijke frietjes. Vriendelijke bediening.

Leuke volkse charme, maar daar moet je natuurlijk van houden. Bediening lijkt stug maar is zeer vriendelijk. Portie kibbeling gegeten van het kindermenu maar helaas was dit van magere kwaliteit. Niet wat je verwacht van een vissersplaats als Yserke. Dit laat natuurlijk te rade hoe de èchte visgerechten zullen zijn.

De 'plat fruit de mer' was fantastisch, een echte aanrader.

De mosselen waren lekker en werden met drie sausjes geserveerd. De frietjes waren knapperig gebakken en alles was echt ruim voldoende. De bediening was wat stug en de sfeer/Ambiente wat oudbakken en mist flair. De bediening spreekt geen/zeer beperkt Nederlands.

Zeer leuk en gezellig, en ondanks dat er geen vegetarisch eten op het menu stond hebben ze kost wat moeite bespaart om mij een mooi bord voor te schotelen, heel lekkere vegi schnitzel gegeten en de vis was ook top en lekker vond mijn gezelschap. We komen zeker nog eens terug

Mosselen waren super. De sfeer van deze zaak is super. Beetje "bruin restaurant ipv café maar gezellig.

Sehr nette Bedienung. Frischer Fisch und super Fritten. Austern und Hummer sehr gut. Fischplatte mit 4 Sorten muss man gegessen haben.

In Yerseke zijn vier restaurants waar je 's avonds nog wat kan eten. Zonder review te lezen voor deze krieg gekozen. Wie de review zou nu wellicht denken: weer een slecht verhaal. Maar nee. Het waren echt heerlijke mosselen. Misschien niet de jumbo's van de kaart, maar ze waren echt heel erg lekker. Verder een relatief eenvoudig, niet fancy restaurant waar ook de ouderen uit de buurt gezellig een drankje drinken aan de bar. Het jongetje dat ons bediende kan misschien nog wat leren maar och. Nee: fijne kroeg!

Het eten was heerlijk! Vooral de mosselen. De lekkerste mosselen die we dit jaar aten! De bediening is prima! Niks bijzonder, gewoon goed. Geen onnodige etiketten, gewoon service. In de zaak zaten wel enkele dronken cafégasten waardoor de sfeer af en toe wat grillig was. Maar dat is een moment opname. Zeker een aanrader!
