I had a roasted chicken sandwich yesterday and it was terrible! It was bone dry!!! Two small slices of pickled cucumber and that was it, and you pay €4.80 for it!!! Ridiculously expensive for such a bad sandwich! Never again! 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽

Wonderful place for lunch or takeout. I ate there with a colleague for lunch. There's a wide selection of Surinamese-Chinese dishes. Prices are reasonable, but the portions are very generous. Friendly staff who also explain the dishes. After ordering, the food is served quickly. The interior is modern and clean. There's a single table outside where you can also sit and watch the people passing by on Theresiastraat.

I ordered the Gon bao beef and got a plate of cucumber with two pieces of meat in it. I paid €18.50 for it. Disgraceful.

Outrageously expensive! Poorly filled, tasteless sandwiches. A disgrace to Surinamese cuisine! Always busy during lunch breaks with employees of local companies and ministries who are clearly unfamiliar with authentic Surinamese cuisine. In any other neighborhood, this place would undoubtedly have gone bankrupt long ago.

Ordered dinner here for the first time. Normally I only order a sandwich, which is fine. I asked the employee for a dish with chicken and cashew. It wasn't there. She did have a chicken dish for €18 and could add cashew nuts for €3.5. I ordered this and a meal with beef and brown beans. The chicken with added cashew consisted of 80% vegetables and sauce. A few small pieces of chicken in it. The chicken that was in it was tough and not tender. The dish with beef in brown beans consisted of pork and indeed brown beans. There was nothing else in it. Then about the amount of meat itself. If I was able to get 10 pieces of meat out of a container, that's a lot. And how ridiculous that you have to pay €18 for this too. After this I ordered 2 more portions of chicken satay. This should contain 8 sticks. Of course I'm not going to check them in the shop itself. In the end there were only 7 sticks of satay in it. I don't often write a review but for a total of €56 I can order a complete rice table with free kroepoek etc. at the local Chinese. This is a real shame. I will definitely not come back here.

We were always regular and satisfied customers, but this time it was unfortunately very disappointing. We picked up food, but the quality was disappointing: bland to even tasteless and clearly of lower quality than when you eat in the restaurant. Out of genuine concern we called to share this, we thought there might be a new chef or that something had gone wrong. Unfortunately, the response was immediately defensive, without any understanding or apologies. Customer friendliness, especially towards regular customers, does not seem to be a priority (anymore) here. We are very disappointed in both the quality and the way this was handled. We really expected more.

Over the past 2 years, since I started freelancing in The Hague, I have been visiting the Surinese as a matter of course. The food is superb. The owner is a great guy! I would advise that he expand to several places in the Netherlands, but preferably also towards Belgium in the future. Because there are no Surinamese restaurants there.

Portion is too small for about 18 euros, they only fill half the amount. If you order Sechuan pig, you will get sieuw in a sauce.

Nooit, nooit meer naar deze afzetters. Gisteren twee grote sauto soep gehaald om mee te nemen naar huis voor 19,50 euro de twee. Wat kreeg ik; Een half bekertje soep, een klein bakje rijst, een klein zakje met rotzooi. Geen kip…..niets er in…. Vandaag teruggegaan om het beloofde vlees te halen. Antwoord van een onvriendelijke mijnheer….dit is het en zo blijft het, en val mij niet lastig en ga volgende keer naar een ander restaurant. Nogmaals, het zijn grote afzetters met een ook nog grote mond! Advies van deze man opvolgen…..kom daar niet!afzetters

Wat een afzetterij! Tjauw min kip besteld en zat meer bami in dan kip. Er zaten welgeteld 4 kleine stukjes kip in en dat voor €16. Wel een hele dure bami. Jammer dit!

Last night Ordered 2x “Javanese nasi with roasted chicken” The roasted chicken was crispy. Nasi had no taste or seasoning at all. Waste of money. Not worth 14 euros per portion. Staff is friendly service is good.

Really bad service and food is sometimes tasty but very often tasteless. Those Surinamese people are not really friendly either. People give wrong orders and don't solve anything. I'm a real Surinamese so I know what taste is. Too bad it has become a revenue model. No real Surinamese food anymore Chinese.

I come here every week, both for myself and for my colleagues. Really the best sandwiches in The Hague and the people are also super nice.

Only for people who like this type of cuisine. The portions are big, it's hard to eat the whole thing. Affordable price.

Good food. Friendly service. Just a shame you can't get a small bowl of vegetables. Should be a large container right away. And with the saoto soup I prefer to have the ingredients separately. Well, I didn't ask that either.

I think they have deteriorated significantly in customer service. The food is still great, but they are no longer as customer friendly as they used to be. And if you ask for some extra chicken for a fee, they are also very stingy. Very unfortunate because I have been coming here for years, but that won't happen that often anymore.

Last night I enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Surinamese restaurant in The Hague. The food was truly delicious! I tasted the authentic flavors of Suriname in every dish that came to the table. From the tender chicken dishes to the spicy roti, everything was perfectly prepared and tasted excellent. The atmosphere in the restaurant was also fantastic. The warm and welcoming ambiance immediately made me feel like I was at home. The friendly service made us feel very welcome and was always ready to help with advice about the dishes. My group and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. It was a pleasant evening in which we not only had a delicious meal, but also made beautiful memories. I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a culinary experience with a touch of Surinamese hospitality.

Had a short stay at the restaurant, which is something I recommend. It is mostly for a take away business, however it is possible to have a meal quietly in a clean place. The price for the food is between 13,5 and 17 euros, being the average 15 euros. The quality is quite good for the price & the quantity as well.

Lekkere broodjes, sambal die ze erbij doen is niet erg pittig maar verder wel prima. Goede prijs, ongeveer €4,50 per broodje en ze zijn in ongeveer 10 min klaar als het druk is. Sfeer is niet bijzonder, maar alles is wel goed schoon en er zijn genoeg plekken om lekker te zitten. Aanrader voor in ieder geval de broodjes

Heerlijk eten!!! Op enkele smaken na bijna elk broodje geproefd; buitengewoon heerlijk. Altijd lange rijen tijdens de lunchpauzes, maar je bent snel aan de beurt. Personeel is vriendelijk en de zaak is schoon. Mij zien jullie snel weer ;)

Mooie schonen zaak maar de roti zit geen smaak aan geen zuur erbij en geen sambal . Wat wel hoort om smaak te krijgen

Hier heb ik meerdere keren eten gehaald. Lekker, warm, snel geholpen, goede service.

Ik heb van de menukaart verschillende gerechten welke vers gemaakt wordt elke keer weer een genot.

Ik bestelde een vegetarische bami met groente ze kwamen met een bord dat gevuld was met ik schat dan 95 % bami en de enige groente die ik tegenkwam bestond uit paksoi. Zeer teleurstellend!

De vegan gerechten die ik heb geprobeerd waren erg lekker. De porties zijn goed en het eten is smaakvol. Mocht je van pittig eten houden, probeer dan de gele chilipepers.. De mensen zijn vriendelijk en de sfeer is erg relaxt. Het zag ernaar uit dat er veel locals naartoe komen voor een makkelijk en gezonde maaltijd. Ik gok dat wij ook bij die groep gaan horen!

Great food and great value! Love this family-run establishment serving take-out and dine-in. Tried several of the vegetarian buns and they were delicious.

Don't be fooled by the plain decor. The food here is from China, Surinam, and India, and is very good. Especially the roast meat. And of the meats, especially the duck. Oh that duck! Other things are good too. Have eaten here many times and never had a bad meal.

It is a quick lunch option, prices are not amazing but there are a lot of options and it is quite fast. Portions are small and you can expect sometimes a crowd loud place. At the end doable.

Goede en vriendelijke bediening, uitstekende en heerlijke Surinaamse broodjes en gerechten. Kom er wekelijks met de lunch.

Als de broodjes wat groter (echte Surinaamse puntjes) waren en de hoeveelheid ook wat meer was, prijzen lager (normaal) waren, de inhoud meer smaak had, zou ik vaker komen. Ik koop elders grotere broodjes met meer inhoud, beter lekkere smaak en lagere normale prijzen.

Ik word altijd goed geholpen. Snel en heerlijk eten als ik niet kan koken.

Zeker een aanrader!! De mevrouw achter de balie was erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. We hebben hier vandaag afgehaald en het eten was heerlijk. Ze hebben een uitgebreid menu en het eten was goed op smaak en erg vers.

Erg lekker geluncht met een collega. Betaalbaar en goed. Vriendelijke service.

Meer dan de helft van de bestelling zat er niet bij. Broodjes zijn zeker niet bijzonder. Kom hier niet nog eens terug.

Na het krijgen van een onsmakelijke uitziende broodje ben ik naar een mannelijke persoon lid geweest om te vragen of dit is hoe zij een broodje kerrie ie serveren. Meneer reageert gelijk aanvallend en komt onbeleefd, ongepast en ONBESCHOFT over. Weigert daarna enige oplossing tot dat er mensen bij gehaald moeten worden. SLA DEZE TENT OVER als je van jezelf houd! ONSMAKELIJK EN ONVRIENDELIJK

De Javaanse bami met garnalen was erg prijzig voor het bord bami zonder enige groenten en 6 garnalen. Daarnaast vrij flets van smaak. Ook de baka bana was summier. Niets in vergelijking met de baka bana uit Suriname. Helaas.
