Midnight Roti Shop Ypenburg in Wijk 42 Ypenburg

I'm a regular customer at Midnight Roti Shop Ypenburg, but unfortunately, the quality seems to be declining lately. Last time, the Saoto soup tasted strange, as if it were spoiled. The whole bag smelled bad. No apology, but I did get a refund. Today I had to wait over two hours for my order again. It seems they're currently taking too many orders. The roti itself is fine, but next time I'll probably have to order around 4 PM so it hopefully arrives before 7 PM. And no more tip.

Man couldn't say hello then you hear the microwave doing its work and of course a stomach ache!

After an hour, I received my food, and it was cold. The meat in the Saoto soup tasted broken, and the egg tasted sour. The rice was slimy. I had to throw it away. A waste of money. Last time I ordered from here, the food wasn't restaurant-worthy.

My daughter ordered Soato soup and a sandwich that was supposed to arrive at 12 noon, but it only arrived at 2:45 pm, half of it was forgotten, but as compensation she received a bag of banana chips, which were not good. Soato soup, they didn't even bother to pull the chicken apart, they just put in chunks of chicken fillet, the chef needs to go back to cooking class.

Normally i go to the location at Escamplaan, where i buy for years. When i was a little girl i went there with my parents. This was my first time at this location, cause its closer to my hometown. It took about 25 minutes before we received our food. And the rice for my saoto was little. But that was ok. Normally i get some hot sauce for in my saoto soup. I did not get it. The roti that my kids ordered was good. They liked the food. But the next time they want to go to the location at Escamplaan..

I ordered chicken roti yesterday. It arrived with raw meat. I now have food poisoning.

Finally delivered after 2 hours. I had to call first to see where it was. Apparently, it wasn't being repaired until then. It arrived lukewarm, too.

What a delicious roti! Nicely spicy meat, a delicious dish, and plenty of beans and potatoes. We live quite remote, and that turned out to be harder to find than anticipated. The Roti shop handled this well, and the delivery driver was just as friendly!

I've been ordering roti from Midnight Escamplaan for as long as I can remember. Since we now live in Rijswijk, I ordered from Ypenburg for the first time. The roti tasted good, so my daughter and I ate it, but now we're both seriously ill. We spent half the night leaning over the toilet and can't even go outside. I have a fever, and therefore food poisoning—that's how severe it is. I hadn't read the reviews; I should have done that before ordering. I'm so sick from it that I don't know if I'll ever dare eat roti again. How is this possible? I really wonder what a shopper can do to make someone so sick from roti. My husband ate the noodles and is also quite ill, but not as severely as my daughter and I, who ate the roti. So it's not a coincidence anymore; the whole family is paralyzed. One daughter ate something completely different and wasn't affected, so it's clear.

Ordered again today, forgot the roti plate again, and got the wrong container of chicken fillet, too bad, called but due to lack of delivery people he could not say when I would receive it, he would do his best, delivered 45 minutes later. Quality below par, have been a regular customer for years but I think I will look for someone else. It has happened a few times in a row now, very unfortunate.

Just got some rolls and also a filled bara. Bara very bland no garlic taste. Chicken curry way too salty especially for a person with high blood pressure. It is also not indicated that the cod is spicy. When packing I looked rolls were put in the bag crooked and uneven. Short ride home and some rolls had meat spilling out. Rolls were also not neatly topped. Bara had 3 measly cucumbers in it. And I paid 32.50 for this. First and last time.

I always take the Roti Kerrie Kipfilet and I personally think it’s one of the best Roti’s in The Hague. On Wednesday they offer the 2nd rottie with 50% off which is great too

Got some nice sandwiches here. Well filled too. Just basic Surinamese food.

Unfortunately, everything was too spicy for us. I found a few fish bones, a bit of a shame. Low-quality bread, not luxury bread. For that price, I find everything very meager and quickly prepared. I am used to better Surinamese food. It is a real shame that for people who are not used to spicy food, I would stay away from here. Everything is really too spicy for us. Not worth repeating.

Roti crap…suits them better, no taste, no service and not worth repeating……waited 2.5 hours for tasteless and cold food!

Waited 1.5 hours for our food, called and were told yes you just have to wait, the food was cold and really dirty 🤢 the roti roll was very dry, the bones of the fish fell out, the chicken was not completely cooked, never spent 40 euros again but certainly not worth it!!

Food seems to have been reheated twice before. Food is dry, noodles too greasy and they still manage not to heat it up properly.

We just ordered 2 filled baras and 1 telo. The baras are really a few days old and certainly not fresh. Bara completely fell apart. Telo also not fresh. The only good thing is that they deliver from Ypenburg to Zoetermeer and that the dawet is tasty. A waste of the €40 we spent for this!!

Placed an order. It was delivered an hour and a half later. The food was cold, no taste and a lot of oil in the chicken. Bah! Will never place an order here again. The food went straight into the trash!!

We got chicken curry sandwiches with our 2 young children, after which we had severe diarrhea/stomach pain all evening/days. I don't recommend getting food here anymore, there seems to be something wrong in the kitchen!

Paid for 2 x an extra egg, but it was not included. Green beans (this was really not garter) was almost raw and stone cold. Cassava cod was not crispy.

There is always sauto on the menu here, but it is always sold out. Disappointing. The food is also fine. There are a lot of young people hanging around in the restaurant or they are employees but they are not working seriously.

Ordered 2 roti and dawet, could pay full price. First of all, you don't separate the dawet drinks from the roti? As a result, we had lukewarm dawet and the roti was stone cold. Good sandwiches, tasty food and good service!

Ordered late yesterday evening, order was a little later than planned, we were called promptly and received our food quickly. Food is really delicious and FRESH!!

First time we tasted Surinamese cuisine and we loved it! It was delicious, the waiters and cooks were very friendly

Ordered food, 4 sandwiches, 1 bara filled with shrimp, thought the bars were really bad, soggy, tough, sparingly filled, plain chicken sandwiches, bakjeljauw very tasty and cheeseband shrimp also mediocre, little taste. The food was also not really warm anymore and I thought the sandwiches were more like Dutch dots than real Surinamese sandwiches!! Too bad, a lot can be improved!!

Update: Contacted Midnight Roti. Was offered a Roti Chicken. Nicely resolved. Thank you. Advertising in front of the door with 2nd roti half price. If you are going to order, the promotion does not apply because it is too busy for takeaway, which is quite unusual. And that despite it being quiet in the shop. In retrospect, you think, this is simply deception and fraud. Curious about a response or compensation.

We were here for the first time and wanted to eat something on the spot. The service was very grumpy, noodles were very greasy, chicken was dry, rolls came with sambal, not requested at all. Will never come here again.

Today On 15-11-2024 we ate another delicious Roti dish of chicken fillet and it was again very tasty and at the right temperature and delivered on time by a nice man. This was our 80th Roti dish in a row. Next week our 16th savings card will be full again.

Unfortunately suffered from food poisoning after ordering a sandwich shrimp in the evening.

Our favorite place was closed so we tried a new place, that was a mistake. Food arrived after 1.45 hours after ordering. Lukewarm. Dry chicken and watery sauce. Luckily we had a discount code, but we will never order here again, because every euro was too much.

The food was very tasty, the staff friendly and the place looked neat and clean. Why 1 star? Because there is something very wrong with the containers!! The masala bites out the packaging. Only when I had finished eating did I notice that the material had melted into my food. It didn't taste any less, but this is simply not safe.

Tried to order for the umpteenth time. Ordered early on Thursday for the 3rd time and still received nothing after 1 hour and 45 minutes. Not even a special order but just 2x roti. Made several attempts to call. Unfortunately no response. It's really sad! More than 2 hours still nothing! Top case, highly recommended.

My goodness my husband called that it is taking a long time now instead of 50 minutes we are now waiting 1 hour and 40 minutes and still nothing to eat. They may have few staff, but please call and it will take much longer. So don't order from them again.

Food is mediocre. Service was bad, had to wait a very long time. People who ordered after us were helped earlier. We had to ask a few times if we would still get our food, had to wait again. So I will NEVER come back here again!

Ordered food at 7:00 PM and arrived almost 2 hours later. Order was cold, incomplete and also wrong. Contacted the business and said and went to pick up the order myself. Arrived home and order is wrong AGAIN. This is the 2nd time this has happened. NEVER order again.

Both service and food have deteriorated significantly. I have personally encountered egg shells in my food. Didn't get a drink and waited more than 2 hours consecutively. Ridiculously bad!

I ordered here for the first time, food was tasty and hot! I enjoyed the food. I also thought it was a large portion for myself, but I couldn't stop eating it. And the chicken was tender so it just melted off the bone. Definitely order again

Friendly welcome, large portions, delicious food. Especially the home-made sambal! We didn't arrive until 9:45 p.m., even though they close at 10 p.m., but we didn't feel like we had to eat in a hurry at all. Super Friendly. The place could just be a bit more atmospheric.
