We had a delicious meal, but what struck us most was the staff hovering behind the buffet while many tables were covered in dirty dishes from guests who had already left. They also made no effort to clear and clean those tables. There's a clear lack of direction from management and/or self-awareness from the staff. It certainly doesn't make a good impression.

The food is truly awful. I ordered two pancakes that were incredibly tough, as if they'd been made two weeks ago. It's clear the pancakes aren't freshly made, but simply reheated, and especially for this price, that's unacceptable. I find it bizarre that they're charging so much for such poor food. Blijdorp should really try harder to offer good food, because ultimately, they benefit from it themselves. It's unbelievable that anyone has given this a good rating. I don't think these people have any taste buds.

This place has gotten so bad! Reheated pancakes for €8.80 each, a container of half-fried fries for €5.00… What terrible quality! You can no longer contact the staff because you have to order your food and drinks through an app. What a waste! I won't be returning to this restaurant anytime soon!

Restaurant in the zoo, Well-filled portions.

This was a huge disappointment today. Only 75% occupied, but we had to wait a long time for our order. There was no cleaning, and the order was brought, but we had to ask them to take the dishes from the previous guests. The cake wasn't/didn't seem fresh.

We came for lunch here, and they just closed. Highly not recommended if you visit the park

If you only buy fries at this place: the red and white paper on the container transfers to the fries. Your fries will turn a bit orange due to the grease and the paper... the staff indicated that this isn't harmful, however... Perhaps if you hear more people complaining about this (because for some strange reason they don't want paper ink/whatever grease on their fries), it's time to serve the fries on a plate or bowl. The food was average. Judging by the reviews, the food is mostly poor to average. Too bad.

Plenty of seating space, both inside and outside. Ordering is done online via a qr code, which is practical, you don't have to wait for a waiter and you have enough time to choose a meal. The taste of the food is better than expected, considering that it is a restaurant within the zoo. Kapsalon is delicious and fresh, the Surinamese curry chicken is fine, while the Karpa chicken is so-so.

Lovely terrace. Convenient to be able to order online. Watch out for the cheeky birds; you'll easily lose a few things on your plate. Reasonable prices.

Worthless, only PIN payment is possible. A bad situation that needs to be resolved ASAP. Cash is a legitimate payment method.

Things aren't going well with the food service staff here. There's a terrace, but you're absolutely not allowed to sit there, even if the sun is shining. Children aren't allowed to leave the table to walk around; they're approached by staff to sit down. Never experienced anything like this in the food service industry, ever heard of hospitality? The zoo itself is great, and so are the shop staff. I wouldn't sit here to eat or drink. Walk a bit further to the poffertjes (small pancakes), where you can sit outside.

The food is excellent, but pricey for the quality. Hopefully, a large portion of the profits goes to animal welfare, although you do get apple pie without whipped cream. The staff is a bit impersonal; they just do their job, but without a smile or interaction. Ordering by phone is a bit awkward, but it works. There were still a few people eating at our table when a staff member came by with a bowl full of dirty dishes. He slammed it down on the table to take some of ours away. It wasn't as fresh as others were eating.

The Rotterdam old cheese sandwich was rather mediocre. They clearly didn't use the oldest old cheese, so the flavor wasn't all that impressive. The mustard dressing tasted not of mustard at all, but of cream cheese. And there was way too much lettuce on it. The bread itself was good, though. The black coffee was also fine, but that's not a problem.

We wanted to eat vegan, which is not possible. Almost all dishes contain dairy. Even in a salad with vegan chicken balls they add some dairy, why? I understand that vegans are not your main target group. But can't you offer more than fries or simple soup in your largest restaurant in the park? Unfortunately, the vegetarian selection there had also deteriorated. The menu also does not clearly indicate what is vegetarian or vegan. That is why we asked the staff what was vegan/could be made vegan. Making it vegan was not possible. This staff member also knew nothing about the selection in the other catering establishments in the park. We went to look somewhere else ourselves (Gate of Asia). It turned out that this was closed (earlier). It would have been nice if the staff had told us this when we asked about the other locations. We ended up at the Lepelaar for lunch. Regret! Much smaller selection, and certainly not vegan. It is a great pity that the terrace hall is lacking. Because in itself we think it is a nice restaurant with good dishes. But as a vegan, things are made very difficult for you.

Do not order food in this restaurant!! This was the single worst restaurant experience I have had in 4 years of living in Rotterdam… chicken burger tastes and looks like a cheap veggie burger and the patty of the hamburger has the same texture and flavor as a piece of a Amazon cardboard box. I don’t even know why restaurants like this still exist… if I would work here I would get depressed within hours

Rly disappointing food. I wasn’t expecting much as this place is located in the zoo but the food is not even a fair 5/10, I’ll give it a 1. Fries are alright (this is the least they could do). But the fried chicken burger tastes even worse than the vegan chicken burger you could buy from albertheijn. If you could, go to McDonalds before coming to the zoo because the food options here are absolutely awful.

Great food but really absurdly long waiting time.

Placing an order in a restaurant is done by scanning a QR code, which I think is a big plus. The prices are optimal and the food is very tasty. Very nice service. Waiting time for 3 dishes is approximately 5 minutes.

Nice terrace with a very tasty goat cheese salad.

Order via a QR code on the table and pay immediately. Carpaccio sandwich €13.50 and brie sandwich 'with pepper' €9.50. Well... Zoo prices, huh? Three slices of brie on two slices of bread is a bit sad, just like the pepper topping. We had a bite to eat here on a bizarrely quiet day during the summer holidays (rain etc), so service was fast. Little contact with staff.

Food itself is just good. The staff who deliver it are also friendly. But you have to order your food via an app. You won't have a smartphone. Also quite expensive and not much choice. Brown bread, great!

I think the food here is the tastiest in the entire zoo, but the appetizers are really too pricey for what you get. You're better off having a hamburger with fries. If it were my place I would put a portion of Rotterdam bitterballen on the menu. I would also leave it open longer, if you want to eat you have to come here before 3:00 PM. That's still a shame.

Despite the crowds on May 25, we received our order, two hamburgers, three pancakes and 5 drinks within fifteen minutes. We, our daughter, son-in-law and two grandsons aged 3 and 1. Excellent quality food, everything very tasty and good. We don't understand the negative reactions. It was fine for us. Of course it was noisy with all the families with small children. But that's just the way it is. We were satisfied.

Waiting 45 minutes for a burnt pancake. Our hungry children do NOT recommend this place ;-)

You can hardly go wrong with pancakes and fries. It's just a shame that the toilets smell so bad. They look fairly clean, but they always stink even when you walk by alone.

Although the service is very friendly and ordering by QR code is very easy, I think this restaurant is continuing to deteriorate. There is surprisingly little choice if you want to eat vegetarian and also somewhat healthy. In the end it was a soggy, unappetizing vegetarian filet americain sandwich. Too bad.

For a zoo restaurant, this is very impressive. Fast delivery and good food. Pricing is also very acceptable.

Boerenappeltaart is lekkerder als deze niet ijskoud (nog niet niet bevroren) geserveerd wordt.

Prima eten voor schappelijke prijs. Bestellen gaat via QR code en komt snel. Koffie lekker heet en zalige appeltaart. Perfect en heel netjes voor horeca in een toeristische attractie.

Tja, het eten was niet echt om over naar huis te schrijven. De pannekoek was klein en droog. De patat met vegan topping met pindasaus, de topping was goed De voor de 4e keer gebakken patat was niet weg te krijgen. Jammer hoor, voor dat geld had ik toch wat meer verwacht.

Wel leuke tent maar patatje was klef helaas kan je alleen online bestellen.

Jammer dat er een deel afgezet was in het restaurant. Ik snap de beredenering hierachter (minder poetswerk) maar daardoor zit het heel erg hutjemutje. Bestellen en betalen via de site was prettig, maar de bediening was wel erg traag… duurde erg lang voor 3 drankjes en daarna ook voor 3 gerechten, na 3 kwartier gekregen we pas ons eten. Terwijl anderen wie na ons binnen kwamen en dus na ons besteld hadden, eerder hun eten kregen. Terwijl zij hetzelfde besteld hadden als wij. Daarbij waren de hamburgers droog en niet rijkelijk belegd. De patat was wel erg lekker en ook lekker vers. Ik sla dit restaurant de volgende keer over.

Beetje druk, ondanks dat toch een deel van het eetgedeelte afgesloten. Bestellen per qr en betalen is handig. Eten goed van smaak.

Over het aangeboden eten en drinken valt misschien niets te klagen , maar voor de rest vind ik het als oud horecamedewerker een verschrikking. Ik krijg hier nu niet echt een warm gevoel van. Alles digitaal, geen menukaart op tafel en niet iemand die je bestelling even gastvrij komt opnemen. Al het persoonlijke en andere manieren van betalen worden ontmoedigd. Mijn ouders die in de tachtig zijn komen er om die reden niet meer. Allemaal te ingewikkeld. De mensen die er rondlopen zijn beslist vriendelijk, maar snappen het vak niet. Ik voel er gewoon geen gastvrijheid.

Heerlijk genoten van een lunch op het terras. Alles gaat hier digitaal, zowel bestellen als afrekenen. Kan me voorstellen dat sommige mensen dat minder prettig vinden. Misschien zelfs moeilijk. We kozen voor flat bread kip kerry. Echt heel erg lekker. Niet zoveel. Koffie was ook erg smakelijk.

Das essen war eine sehr positive überraschung, das ambiente ist auch sehr schön am see. Das bestellen über die website ist nur leider eine katastrophe und erfordert eine hohe frusttolleranz

Gezellig tentje met heerlijk eten! Zeker een aanrader voor tijdens je bezoek aan de dierentuin!

Je kunt hier prima eten. Het bestelsysteem is ook goed: scan een QR code of ga naar een link, geef je tafelnummer op en plaats je bestelling. Gelijk afrekenen. Dan wordt daarna alles gebracht.

Heel lekker gegeten voor redelijke prijzen. Verrassend aanbod van vegetarische gerechten. We smulden van het Indonesische patatje met vegastoofvlees en de couscoussalade met kaasnuggets. Ook de drankjes waren niet buitensporig duur. De Terraszaal is opnieuw ingericht met mooi meubilair, dat een sfeervolle uitstraling geeft. Het vriendelijke personeel en de snelle bediening maakten ons etentje af.

Nejlepší je způsob objednávání jídla od stolu, obsluha funguje skvěle. Jídlo spíše průměrné s výjimkou kuřecího burgeru. Ten opravdu nebyl dobrý. Jinak hranolky chutné a masová koule také. Káva na závěr překvapivě dobrá

Als je koffie met een taartje besteld krijg je eerst je koffie en het taartje gaat oo de stapel vanbestelling voor eten. Nadat alle andere klanten die voor ons waren hun pannenkoeken e.d. hadden kwamen onze taartjes. Die alleen uit een gebaksdoos moesten worden gepakt...bij navraag werd er wel excuses aangeboden maar geen bakje koffie meer. Volgende keer dus alleen drinken bestellen want de taartjes zijn best prijzig ook!

We hebben hier smaakvol geluncht, het was wel erg druk maar niet hinderlijk. Probleem werd wel het bestellen via QR code op het moment dat ING storing bleek te hebben, waardoor geen idealbetaling kon. Maar hier kon de terraszaal dus niks aan doen

Met kinderen en kleinkinderen heerlijk gegeten. Prachtige locatie. Snelle bediening. Een aanrader!

Het was erg druk. Het eten is erg duur en niet echt lekker. Kinderen vonden het wel erg leuk.
