The sea bass was barely seasoned, and that for €24. It's absolutely crazy that they charge €6 for a bottle of Fanta, which is the same price as beer.

Went in yesterday with two people. Friendly welcome and free seating. About five or six men were serving. But after looking at someone a few times, there was no response. For the second time, a woman brought something to a table further away. I figured she'd come. But no, we weren't noticed. The men at the bar weren't interested either. Finally, we asked if we could order something. Two Weiss beers, please. They didn't have any. Uh-huh. After insisting, she went to look at the menu. But no, they didn't have any. White beer, though... Two large ones, please. They didn't have any. I went to ask them. Okay, we can fill large glasses... Please. Two. Delicious beers. Please pay. 19.80 for two large beers. Okay. Price is secondary, but in combination with the rest, I think they still need to improve a bit. Regards, Ronald

The food is okay but nothing special. The atmosphere is very nice, both inside and outside. But the service is not good, just plain bad. We enter a restaurant with two children where two tables are occupied. No one speaks to us; we have to ask ourselves if we can eat. The waitress doesn't know, and there are three colleagues and one behind the bar who are doing nothing and "don't know either." Finally, the waitress walks around the empty tables and concludes that it's not possible. Everything is apparently reserved, even though it's just before 6 p.m. and the signs on the tables show times of 7:45 p.m. This place doesn't get it and clearly doesn't want to make any money.

It's a beautiful, atmospheric, and child-friendly restaurant. Since it opened, we've been there about six times, including once for dinner. For drinks, I find the appetizer menu a bit limited. The dinner selection is fine, and the quality is good too, but certainly not exceptional. At least, based on that one experience. The biggest drawback is the service. It feels like they're consistently understaffed, and there's room for improvement in terms of friendliness. A concrete example: today we sat at a table for two hours. Only when we were seated were we asked what we wanted to drink; after that, we weren't asked again if we wanted anything else to drink or eat. In the end, we had to ask for it ourselves. We only had two drinks each in two hours; that seems like lost revenue to me. Perhaps we were unlucky each time, as other reviews are more positive in that regard, but this is our experience.

Unfortunately...Wednesday afternoon...back to closed doors. After the above review, I visited again. This time in the evening. There's a good atmosphere, quite a few people, and a nice decor. Friendly service.

We had a delicious meal at De Valk Brewery and Gastropup. It's a nice spot with a view of the brewing kettles. It can get quite noisy when it's busy, though. The service was excellent, friendly, and attentive. The food was delicious and well-seasoned, nothing to complain about. Unfortunately, De Valk brewery beer wasn't available yet. But there were some nice beers on the beer menu.

We had a delicious meal, and we sat together at a cozy, long table with stools, which was very pleasant. A wide selection of dishes was always fun to see what others had ordered and how they tasted. A pleasant industrial atmosphere, as the brewery wasn't open yet.

We went to the Pannenfabriek for the first time. We ate at Brouwerij and Gastropub de Valk. The atmosphere was great on the last warm summer evening. The service was very attentive; the staff were young, but they learn by doing. The food was delicious; we had the crab cakes and chicken pops as appetizers with tasty sauces. The pasta Alfredo with rump steak was delicious, as was the small rump steak with fries. The short rib was a generous portion. It's a shame their own specialty beers weren't available yet. We'll have to go back. The interior also deserves a mention!

I ate here with friends last Wednesday. The menu offers a nice variety of unusual dishes, and the desserts are excellent! Good prices! Lots of drinks and juices. Beautiful restaurant, easily accessible for guests with disabilities (plenty of space between tables, making it easy to hear each other). Young staff, some inexperienced, but very helpful. All in all, a very good experience, with a cozy, relaxed atmosphere...highly recommended and a welcome addition to Echt!

A lovely, spacious restaurant with friendly staff. The food was excellent, and they had some tasty beers on the menu. The restrooms were also fantastic! For me, there's one small drawback: they allow dogs inside. People with allergies won't be happy about that, and it's not exactly hygienic. But that doesn't detract from the fact that it's a lovely restaurant.

I unexpectedly stumbled upon Brasserie de Valk on the recommendation of friends. They have an extensive menu with something for everyone. The food is delicious and the service is great. Definitely recommended if you're in the area!

Friendly service. I ordered backeljou with fries, which the waitress described as "a glorified kibbeling." Lots of batter and very little fish, and the fries were far too salty. And dessert, lava cake, because the baked Alaska was out of stock, and that at noon. This was the first time, and it will also be the last.

The food was okay, nothing special. We felt it didn't match the (chic and well-maintained) atmosphere that the restaurant exudes. We had to wait quite a while for our food. We didn't get any bread or anything like that beforehand. Perhaps we should have asked specifically? The portions were really too small. The fries with the food were too ordinary. Serve proper potatoes or real fresh fries instead. There wasn't enough meat despite choosing the largest possible option (200g). No vegetables with the meat, just a small bowl of salad, which was tasty, though. The children's portions were also a bit too small. One of the children's pasta Alfredo was so creamy that it was more sauce than pasta. The dessert menu was limited. Therefore, we didn't order dessert. The interior is a mix of industrial and modern. Tables and chairs are quite close together along the walls. However, there's (too) much (open) space in the middle. This results in a lot of "running" and climbing space for young children. It detracted somewhat from the atmosphere. We have children ourselves, you know. But if we choose to have screaming and running around, we'll (consciously) eat somewhere else. We didn't expect that here. The service was a plus. The potential is there. But all in all, there's still plenty of room for improvement.

On July 10th, we went here on the advice of friends. We decided to have a drink first. It was midday and there was plenty of room on the terrace. The tables hadn't been wiped, but I thought they would be wiped when my order was taken. They hadn't. When my order was brought, I asked for one. Again, no one came back to wipe the table. I went inside and asked if someone could come with a cloth, so this is the second time. There were four young staff members present. And again, no one came. Because of the wasps, we decided to drink our soft drinks inside. What a beautiful place inside! I hope they can improve the staffing.

Restaurant with fine tastes, what more could you ask for. Top. I had a very good burger, excellent value for money. I will definitely come back when I have the chance.

Great experience! I tried this place out with my 2 year old daughter and husband. As an American I was curious about some of the American food on the menu :) And.....I have to admit that it's better than mine (especially the Lousiana cole slaw)! Plus points are the area for kids to play with a mini kitchen and toys. The only thing is that the tables around the play area are high, which means that the high chairs are way too low for the table. So my daughter just had to sit on one of the chairs with us. We will be back!

We enjoyed a delicious lunch yesterday. I highly recommend stopping by this uniquely cozy gastropub.

The dishes were of good quality and the portions were adequate. The dessert was also delicious. The menu wasn't overly extensive, but it offered a variety of choices, ensuring there was something suitable for most guests. The allergen information could perhaps be improved, but this didn't affect the rating. The venue was spacious, and the tables were positioned to create a pleasant sense of space. The restaurant had a neat and tidy appearance. The restrooms were also clean and well-maintained.

The space is beautiful. Both the warm platter starter and the short rib were far too salty. Limited wine and beer selection. The red wine was too warm. The staff was young and inexperienced, though well-intentioned. We had hoped for better, but it was disappointing.

Visited the place on Sunday. It's a great addition to Echt, especially the interior design. Unfortunately, the staff was poorly organized. After 30 minutes inside, we still couldn't get any attention from the staff. There was no structure, and no distribution of tables. It's a real shame. We just walked out. And it wasn't even that busy.

Yesterday we sat down on the terrace during lunch. They took into account the pram we had with us, very nice. We got our first drinks quickly and the food went smoothly and was delicious - we were well advised in choices. There was a cozy, relaxed atmosphere and the staff was very friendly. We will definitely come back :)

A refined culinary experience My friend and I both opted for the burger, and it was truly a taste sensation. The meat was exceptionally juicy and full of flavour, perfectly cooked to the core. The brioche was light and toasted golden brown, with a subtle crispy edge that contrasted beautifully with the creamy textures underneath. The balance of flavours was perfect – every topping carefully chosen, every sauce a complement rather than a distraction. It all felt thoughtful, artisanal and lovingly prepared. A simple classic transformed into something memorable. We also found the staff to be very friendly and quick. Especially the barman with the curls and huge muscles😏We are impressed and will definitely be back.

Delicious food, good price-quality ratio and atmospheric location.

I had the short ribs. The meat was well prepared and nice and tender, so in that respect it was fine. Only I found the taste a bit flat. I expected a bit more spice or smokiness, especially with a dish that revolves around low & slow barbecue. The fries were fine, just as you would expect them. The purple coleslaw was simple and fresh, but also nothing special. That actually also applied to the barbecue sauce that came with it. Everything was right, but it didn't really stand out anywhere. With a price of around 35 euros I still thought it was on the expensive side. Maybe I'm a bit critical when it comes to barbecue, but for that amount you expect a bit more character or finish. The rest of the table was satisfied by the way. They had various other dishes that looked good and were also better priced. In short: certainly not a bad meal, but for this price I expected more.

Visited last Sunday during opening weekend. It was busy, but we were helped quickly. We had the flat Iron steak with pepper sauce and the beef burger. Both very tasty! Nice ambiance, beautifully decorated shop. You will see us here again.

This afternoon we took a seat at the gastro/pub of Van der Valk in Echt around 16:50. A beautiful place, that's for sure. We knew that the table was reserved from 18:00, but we only wanted to have one drink - more than enough time before the people from the reservation would arrive, we thought. Unfortunately, this turned out not to be possible. The young waitress indicated that even for a short drink no exception could be made, not even after consultation with her manager. We were not offered another table. We felt compelled to leave. Too bad, because this felt like a missed opportunity. Especially in the catering industry, it's all about hospitality and flexibility - a quick drink before a reservation starts would have been easy and would have given us a positive feeling. Afterwards we went to Ayenda, where we were outside at 17:40 - as planned. (a nice drink and a delicious tasting platter). I hope that this business in Echt will continue to exist for a long time, because it is a beautiful business - but there is certainly still room for growth in terms of commercial thinking and customer friendliness.
