Not a place to eat at Saturday lunchtime. I don't know the restaurant. We also went there on a Saturday afternoon in April 2025 and had the same comments: Grumpy staff, unfriendly. The fries were not good, very greasy and not cooked properly. The fish was fine. Maybe it's because of the crowds, but it was the same as in April. No reason for us to try it again.

Our favorite in Yerseke for years

One thing we found very disappointing was that online reservations stated that if you want to eat seafood, arrival between 5 and 5:30 PM is mandatory. So, we booked for 5:15 PM because we wanted to eat seafood. No other notifications were given, but the menu (which isn't on the website) states that you must order a seafood dish at least two days in advance. We found this very unfortunate; it should be clearly stated at the top.

Price-performance cannot be topped

The mussels and oysters were perfect – truly top quality. Unfortunately, the fries were disappointing: they seemed to have been fried a bit too quickly and therefore weren't cooked properly. The sauces served with the mussels also had a distinctly sweet flavor. As a Belgian, I might be a bit spoiled in that regard, but I found the sauces far too sweet, which detracted from the overall experience.

Beautiful location, lovely restaurant, spacious, bright, and with a stunning view. Delicious food, lots of choices, and a great selection of fish dishes. Excellent service, pleasant atmosphere. In short: a solid 10.

Ate mussels here yesterday. They were incredibly delicious. I really enjoyed the plain mussels without the sauce.

We waited too long for our food. We didn't even get two portions of fries and salad, even though we were two people. But the fish (fried sole) and vegetables were delicious, delicious, delicious.

Delicious food, reservations were necessary

As already evident from the review, the food, for example, kibbelings with fries and mayo, was great. The service was good, but not great (food had to be picked up and dishes, etc., returned by the customer, though only in the fast-food outdoor area!). The ambiance outside was rather plain! Old tables, not all of which were clean, and old chairs. No umbrellas or any decorations!! Conclusion: I would still go there again because the price-performance ratio is just right!!

Unfortunately this time not so good. Very dry crab and the fried eel sent back because it really wasn't tasty. The restaurant agreed and took it off the bill which is very nice. I've eaten here before and it was always good then.

What should have been good unfortunately turned out to be the opposite... We ordered kibbeling with fries here, but unfortunately the kibbeling was very greasy and the fries too. Very unfortunate. The service also seemed more interested in having loud conversations with colleagues about vacation. So certainly not interested in work. When a staff member wants to pass my friend to get to something, she says "I have to pass by" instead of asking nicely. I explain that he cannot understand her and that I will translate it for him, to which this lady gives a very unfriendly response that she does not care whether or not he can speak Dutch. You do not have to go here for the food and hospitality.

The food was old & familiar delicious :) Unfortunately this time we sat longer than 3 hours for a 3 course meal. There were only 3 people serving and that is far too few, when the place is full, on a Friday.

All stars! So completely top! Beautiful and very tasty mussels, with salad and enough tasty fried fries and very sweet, attentive service! We will definitely come back!

Very tasty natural mussels eaten for 24.5 Euro (1.25 kilo). Friendly (fast) service. Free parking in front of the door. Interior somewhat dated but ok.

Reservations are recommended. The fish is excellent. It's a mix of chip shop, restaurant, and takeaway. Opening hours are inaccurate online.

Delicious food with a beautiful view over the Oosterschelde.

On the terrace of the snack corner you can always enjoy kibbeling and a drink. Sometimes very busy during dinner time. In the restaurant the service varies quite a bit. Some things are very tasty but most things are quite ordinary, not particularly tasty but just good food. Extensive drinks menu and something for everyone. If you come for kibbeling (possibly with fries), I recommend eating it outside. Considerable price difference for a table inside the restaurant with the same kibbeling and a bit of green. And you can also order all drinks from the restaurant menu to drink on the terrace.

Had a lovely dinner. Used the location to start with oysters and shrimp croquette. The soles were super tasty. The view over the Oosterschelde is great. The only downside is that it can be very busy. You don't immediately relax, but the food is more than excellent!

We rented 4 e-shoppers at this location. Enjoyed it very much and drove a nice route. Until upon return the lady from the sea food shop was very unfriendly and not customer-friendly when she received the keys and helmets. She was not pleased that they handled this instead of the lady behind the rental desk. They snapped at us and other customers.

Hi, my wife and I treated ourselves to some Kippling this evening. The service was friendly and spoke English. The atmosphere is pleasant with a lovely view of the water. We ordered two Kipplings (one medium and one large) for €25. What annoyed me a bit was that the only difference between the medium and large was the portion of fries, NOT the Kippling portion. Taste-wise, it wasn't a standout for me, but it wasn't bad either.

Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. It seemed like the girl didn't feel like serving us and was more busy talking to her colleagues. We got the feeling that we were a nuisance. Because of this, I would unfortunately not recommend this restaurant. A boy brought our desserts and he was very hospitable and friendly. This restaurant is in a beautiful location and the restaurant itself is nicely decorated. The food was fine but unfortunately nothing special. We found it quite greasy.

The fish here is really fresh and very tasty. We had salted herring, kibbeling with fries and fried lekkerbek This tastes really fantastic even the fries taste like fries and not like fries with fish flavor. We will definitely come back here, even if it is a 150km drive for a fish Thanks to the employees of De Viskeete for the good service.

Had a staff outing here tonight. Friendly people for sure. The location is beautiful. We had a nice and nice corner with a beautiful view. Unfortunately the food was disappointing. I just hung over the toilet with a bad stomach ache and threw up. Unfortunately. I really liked the shrimp cocktail and a nice amount too! I had ordered steak with my colleague and it seemed like the steak was fried in the same place where maybe the fish is fried? Our steak had what seemed to be a fishy taste. We had asked for medium and it was well done. We asked for a pepper cream sauce with it and in our lives we had never eaten such a spicy pepper cream sauce, even the friendly waiter admitted that after he had tasted it on our advice that he found it really intense and that they had probably gone overboard with the pepper. It burned in my mouth and on my lips for a long time and unfortunately it also dominated the taste of the steak so that I could no longer enjoy it. We asked for a new sauce and we got it and afterwards the sauce was watery and tasteless, it seemed like it had been diluted with water. Afterwards we ate the steak with the mayonnaise that was put with the fries. The fries were very tasty by the way! There was a salad with it and it was dry, unfortunately there was no dressing on it. Couldn't eat it. Not everything that was negative but for me this was unfortunately not something I would repeat. What I also found a pity was that the waitresses only seemed to be able to speak English. For the rest, the waiter was really very customer-friendly and helpful. We also asked for a glass of milk to wash away the burning sensation in our mouths after the pepper cream sauce, we got it and it helped. Luckily we didn't have to pay for the milk 🙂.

Very tasty, don't be fooled by the first impression! Super friendly staff! Be sure to try the kibbeling and the young herring!

Busy place with sea food mostly, self service, normal prices

Just good fresh fish products such as oysters, clams, mussels and many more types of fresh fish. Recommended for a snack if you are in the area.

Otherwise you just go twice a week. A visit planned to Yerseke, Piet van Oost was my favorite place to visit. It exuded a bit more authenticity than the other restaurants around the corner. Upon entering there is the "living" fish counter which is already very interesting. The food is fantastic. Crab legs, three pans of mussels, two portions of kibbeling and two steaks with mushroom sauce. So much? Yes, because we came there twice that week and we will 100% come back again. The food is good, the staff works incredibly hard, the view is great and parking is free.

The mussels bought at the fish store were tiny and yet they were advertised as Jumbo!

An underrated place in my opinion. Many tourists choose establishments on the main street. It's hidden around the corner, but has the best view of the bay, a good menu and more affordable prices. Oysters are great! We took both classic and baked ones. Burger with seafood, boiled mussels. Everything is delicious. Good presentation. I recommend

Delicious food in a nice, Zeeland atmosphere. Right on the harbour, with a beautiful view, very fresh dishes. Kibbeling, mussels and steak, all very tasty. The fries were also delicious. Tables, toilets, floors were very clean, staff friendly. We will definitely come back here during our holidays!

A wonderful place for a fish snack

The three of us ordered plain mussels with salad and fries. Firstly, we only got 2 salads with the explanation that there are always only 2 salads for three people. In retrospect, it wasn't that bad because the lettuce was wilted and the egg tasted like soap. Many empty shells (no, not even at the bottom of the pot) and also many that could not yet be opened. In the future, it would be better to choose another restaurant, unfortunately.

This is the region where the Léon de Bruxelles company buys its mussels... Parks are located in the immediate vicinity of the restaurant. The food is good, the waitress is not pleasant. A little surprised by the final score: more than 80 to 2.

Excellent fish restaurant and shop. Had a delicious lunch and brought fish soup home. This was also very tasty and well filled.

Very nice location for a quick portion of kibbeling or extensive food. Friendly staff who listen to the customer's wishes. A beautiful location with good views and a proud past. Wonderful to see this family business immortalized on the walls of the restaurant. Recommended!

The food was quite good, but it was a pity that the shrimp sauce with the sole fillet tasted very much like shrimp soup.

Very nice location. Super tasty shrimp croquettes and very nice service. It was a full bus that had just started eating, so it was packed and we sat at the counter. We will definitely come back at a quieter time 😁👍

Impressed by the speed of serving, the quality of the products and the preparation. We ate very tasty lobster, beautiful meaty creuses and the mussels were of sublime quality. Friendly service. Nice view of the harbour.
