Good fish restaurant, always busy

Local fish shop with a nice, large selection, but unfortunately a terrible experience due to the slow service. It was all so unclear how things worked. Waited a long time, phew, and that girl just wouldn't understand us… Anyway, 130 euros later and we have fish now!

The reservation and confirmation went smoothly, we met up with family members right on time, and our dog was allowed to stay quietly under the table. The food was excellent; we didn't keep track of the bill for four people, which was between €130 and €140. The only problem was finding a parking space at lunchtime.

We started with the prawn trio because six months ago it was so incredibly delicious; we licked our plates clean back then, it was that good. But this time, there was a thick, old gravy from something poured over it that wasn't appetizing. It wasn't tasty and didn't go with it. It was a disappointment because we had enjoyed them so much earlier. Then, for the main course, we ordered a medium steak with mushrooms and peppercorn sauce. We received a soup bowl of peppercorn sauce, and we had to go look for the mushrooms. And the steak was well-done instead of medium. When I mentioned this, they did react kindly, and I received a new steak and a drink on the house.

Located right on the harbor. Not the most modern restaurant, but very busy! The food tasted good, but we didn't get what we ordered! We ordered a crab roll, but we got something similar to a bitterballen, only with crab instead of minced meat. ☹️

Last Wednesday, two of us had dinner at the Viskeete in Yerseke. The quality and service were top-notch. We recommend the Viskeete in Yerseke to everyone; it is even very easy to reach and accessible for wheelchair users. Anya Werdler

Disappointing. Large pot of mussels for 2 people. Never seen anything like it: 100 percent loss of flavor compared to 2 separate smaller pots with lids, from which a delicious aroma normally emanates. No steaming pot with delicious smells—no taste of the white mussels (were they even included??). Good quality mussels, but substandard preparation.

Good food in a relaxed atmosphere

Well, what can we say about it. The food was pretty okay, the lady who served us was quite attentive, but the others just plunked things down on the table. The sauces with the lobster turned out to be cocktail sauce and a huge mountain of mayonnaise in battered jars. Shabby, noisy, mediocre, but regular prices for an ordinary restaurant. Not our kind of place.

10 out of 10. The oysters are the absolute highlight here, at €2.74 a piece it’s honestly very reasonable for that kind of quality. We also had the cod and the flatfish, both really delicious, even if the fries were a bit cold. Amazing view of the pier too, you can see everything. ​Book in advance if you want to sit inside. Outside is fast food service with a different menu, but the food there is still delicious. ​Definitely worth the drive out or a stop if you’re nearby. Really, really recommended.

We were seated quickly thanks to the reservation. The starters, consisting of 6 oysters and 3 prawns, tasted fine. The main courses, on the other hand, were less impressive. The 3 sole fillets were dry, and the seafood trio was also very dry and tasteless. It seemed as if these dishes had been kept warm longer after preparation. A real shame.

We went out for dinner for the first time. We were stressed about what to order. The food was delicious. We had a bottle of wine; normally, it would be opened and a small amount poured. Unfortunately, this was not the case. A pity, but not a disaster. After our main course, we were asked if we wanted anything for dessert. And at this point, I asked for the menu. Unfortunately, after trying to get through for half an hour, we just asked for the bill. That did come immediately. It wasn't busy anymore, so that wasn't the reason. Small points to note. But otherwise, we had a delicious meal.

A chip shop where you can also buy fresh fish. The chips are delicious, but I prefer to buy everything else elsewhere.

The fried mussels were delicious and we had a great spot by the window overlooking the old harbor.

We had an excellent meal in a fantastic atmosphere. There is a wide choice of food and drink and what we tasted was absolutely delicious.

The waitresses are friendly and very helpful. The kibbeling was really tasty, and you can even try the oysters. The location is beautifully situated with a great view.

We have eaten here quite often; the food is always tasty and plentiful for a reasonable price! The service is usually okay too, but today we were served by a young man who, in our opinion, didn't seem very enthusiastic; he had an uninterested/unmannered attitude. The three ladies who also served today were all friendly and polite. We'll try again next time.

I did mention that one person needs to follow a Keto diet, but nothing was asked or said about whether or not that was possible. Otherwise, excellent.

A lovely fish restaurant right on the harbor. The food was excellent, and the service was incredibly friendly and attentive. We had a wonderful evening there and highly recommend it. A quick note: We made a reservation online, but unfortunately, it wasn't recorded. Luckily, we still managed to get a table. Therefore, we recommend calling ahead to be on the safe side and reserve a table. All in all, a fantastic experience – we'll definitely be back!

The food was delicious as usual. The waitresses could use some extra tips, especially when serving drinks; currently, they are placed on the corner table and walked away without saying a word. It is more polite to distribute/pour these individually. Otherwise, great! Definitely worth taking into account!

After walking for a few hours, we arrived here late in the afternoon for a bite to eat and a drink. Unfortunately, the only thing available on the premises was battered fish and chips. It was literally just a bite; very small portions (more chips than fish). The service was very unfriendly. The location is nice, though.

What a flop!!! There were four of us, and we ordered a gratinated oyster for three and a raw oyster for the fourth. The three gratinated oysters were on one small plate, and we had to eat them on our napkins; I have never experienced that in a restaurant before. After that, we had to wait 45 minutes for the mussels. I have never eaten such bad mussels in my life. Way too mushy, they looked like they had been sitting in brine. Normally you get a small salad bowl per person; well, we got one of those mini bowls for four people, and when we mentioned this, they acted snarky because otherwise too much would have to be thrown away. For every polite remark we made, we received a sharp response from the waitress. Never again to this substandard restaurant with its steep prices.

Wow, you stand in line for 20 minutes and then: no mussels, no oysters, and no herring. If we had known that, we wouldn't have sat down here😡

I am sitting at a small table with a beautiful view of the ponds, the small harbor, and the sea in the distance. The restaurant is packed, and the vast majority of the guests are eating mussels and oysters. I order 10 oysters, a fish soup, and a glass of wine. The disappointment starts immediately with the oysters. They are not chilled at all; in fact, they are lukewarm. And that is a real no-go for oysters. A properly chilled oyster comes into its own so much better; this way, they lose a large part of their flavor and freshness. Then there is the fish soup. I am almost at a loss for superlatives here, but unfortunately not in a positive sense. I am served just over half a cup containing an unappetizing, thickened red mush. Not a single piece of fish to be found, not even a tiny piece that might have been mixed in. There is absolutely no sign of a distinct fish flavor. The whole thing reminded me more of thickened dishwater than fish soup. To be honest, it almost made me gag. To go with it, I was served a very weak and cheap-tasting wine, which I eventually decided to leave untouched. Moreover, the fish soup left me with unpleasant burping for hours. In short: the location and the view are beautiful, but what ended up on my plate and in my glass was a huge disappointment. I would definitely not recommend it.

The food was nothing special, just fried food... But the fact that the oysters weren't fresh was beyond bad. Then it turned out they were the last ones available; there weren't any other sizes left, and this was at an oyster bed! The service was abysmal!

Had delicious mussels in beer. We come here at least once a year to eat mussels. Wide selection of both meat and fish, and a special menu every month for a reasonable price. We will definitely come back here again.

It doesn't take much to influence our opinion. The service was absolutely terrible! Unpleasant and completely unprofessional, so we paid for our drinks and went to eat elsewhere.

Eaten there several times, always fresh and good! Huge selection, friendly and fast service. During busy periods, extra checks and cleaning of the toilets are necessary.

The meals were well-prepared. Due to the busyness, the welcome and service are less personal and sometimes a bit rude.

Eel in green sauce was thin and hard, did not come off the bone, and the sauce was watery. The sea bass was fried until hard, but had a reasonable flavor. The wait staff said they would pass this on to the kitchen, but there was no response. We had raw oysters beforehand, which were delicious.

Highly recommended, the only downside: we ate the set menu, but the time between the starter, main course, and dessert was too short. It needs to move quickly. So, preferably a bit more time between courses to fully enjoy the food. Otherwise, nothing but praise.

By the water, the tastiest gratinated mussels ever and at an affordable price; for the best shellfish and fish, you have to go to the Viskêête, highly recommended.

The lobsters are kept in an incredibly small tank with their claws tied! Heartbreaking to see, I would not recommend this stinking place.

We ate kibbeling here that was incredibly salty... unfortunately, the person who served us clearly wasn't in the mood. For us, once was enough.

Delicious mussels, only the fries were a bit too hard for our liking (but that is different for everyone, of course), clean and cozy restaurant and otherwise a beautiful view of the marina.

The service was friendly. I had a starter of 3 prawns that were very lukewarm and undercooked. After that, we had sea bass fillet; it was cooked for far too long, so it was very dry and in some places even difficult to cut. The fries were also fried much too hard and inedible. All in all, a very disappointing experience. We will not be eating there again.

When I was a child I used to eat fish, mussels and oysters.
