Very tasty mussels, big kettle (1 kg) and big oysters, delicious.

We unexpectedly ended up here this afternoon. There was some hesitation about whether there would be a table available, but we were allowed to stay if we agreed to a corner sofa. We didn't regret that decision. We first tasted several oysters and concluded they were all delicious, and then enjoyed a portion of mussels. Everything was delicious, and the service was excellent. We declined dessert because it got too hot in the blazing sun. A fantastic experience that we'll definitely be repeating.

We happened to pass by here during our bike ride and were pleasantly surprised. We ate delicious mussels on a lovely terrace! With a nice glass of rosé. A real treat!

We kwamen hier aan mer de fiets. Gelukkig waren we vroeg want restaurant Pekaar valt zeer in de smaak! Heel leuk terras op het water, met overkapping die open en toe kan. We bestelden klassiek gekookte mosselen want helaas ben ik allergisch geworden aan oesters 😏. Deze waren zó lekker klaargemaakt met witte wijn. Echt overheerlijk. Lekker wijntje erbij… life is great!!

Een bezoek aan Oesterproeverij Pekaar is een absolute aanrader voor iedere liefhebber van oesters, schaal- en schelpdieren, of gewoon een unieke culinaire ervaring. Gelegen aan de oesterputten met een klein maar super leuk terras. De oesters zijn kraakvers met een unieke presentatie met verschillende smaken! Daarnaast nog genoeg mogelijkheden tot andere heerlijke gerechten als je geen liefhebber bent van oesters. De medewerkers zijn super vriendelijk en enthousiast. Ze vertellen met plezier over het verschil tussen de soorten en hoe je ze het beste kunt eten. De combinatie van de ontspannen sfeer, het uitzicht over de oesterputten en de verfijnde smaken maakt het een beleving die je niet snel vergeet.

Heerlijke oesters op. Het pannetje mosselen smaakte goed en waren van goede kwaliteit. De vissoep was wel oké, geen echte topper.

Of course, it's a fantastic place to enjoy everything from the sea. Situated on top of the oyster ponds. We had a delicious meal, everything from the cocktail to the bill was handled with care and attention to detail. Super attentive service. We'll definitely be back.

A real insider tip for oyster lovers! 🦪🍷 We happened upon this by chance – and what a stroke of luck! Super fresh oysters, opened right there, accompanied by a glass of really good white wine. Everything perfectly matched. The atmosphere is relaxed, the staff friendly, and best of all: We didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes! If you're in the area, be sure to stop by! Perfect for a little indulgence in between meals. I would come back anytime – highly recommended! 🌊✨

Dit restaurant serveert geen al te beste mosselen, ze waren klein en smaakloos. Sommige waren niet open te krijgen, andere waren volledig stuk. Vraag je de vissoep dan is daar niet één garnaaltje in terug te vinden. Als we dit meldden aan de ober was hij stomverbaasd. Hij vroeg langs zijn neus weg of er wel vis in de soep zat! wat een onbeleefde opmerking was dit. Toen stapte hij naar het ander personeel en met een eyeroll had hij het er met hen over. De kaart werd er bij gehaald. Ja, idd. Er stond dat er garnaaltjes bij de vissoep hoorden. Hij presenteerde ons een ‘koffie van het huis’ wat wij beleefd afsloegen. We betaalden correct, uiteraard geen tip. En kregen niet eens nog een goeiedag als we de zaak verlieten. We waren er beiden niet goed van. Niet van het eten noch de bediening. Als het lekker is zeggen wij dit altijd. Als het niet ok is mag dat toch ook gezegd worden , toch. Nee, daar gaan wij nooit meer heen.

This is the best place to go if you want to eat oysters with different toppings. We are fans of the wasabi, raspberry and pornstar martini oysters! The Zeeland wine from Kleine Schorre goes perfectly with it! The service is friendly and attentive and the place is great. We are so fans that we went two days in a row!

Top food, top service and top atmosphere.

Wij hebben hier de oesterproeverij gedaan van 10 verschillende oesters. De oesters waren origineel en creatief, denk aan een oester Martini Pornstar of oester Gin Tonic. Lekker glaasjes Chablis erbij en super vriendelijk personeel. Wij komen hier zeker nog een keer terug om nog eens te genieten van deze heerlijke mooie tent op prima locatie.

My first time, the service is very good, however we ordered a dish with shrimp, lobster, caramel... for two people, but I felt super frustrated with the amount of ground meat

Made a reservation for 2:15 PM but the table wasn't ready yet. The lounge sofa was already occupied so we had to wait on the gangway. Oysters were delicious. Then lobster for € 100 per person. I think they forgot the order because after more than half an hour to 45 minutes we asked if it was on its way. Then it took another 10 minutes or so. Then the experience is a bit gone. The lobster is served with 8 dollops of mayonnaise and other sauce. But the platter is on the small side, so the lobster and therefore your hands are covered in greasy mayonnaise and sauce. Tip: ask for the mayonnaise to be served separately. For that money (> € 350 final receipt) I didn't think the price-quality ratio was ok.

The oysters were of good quality. Lots of variety, service was good too. I thought the atmosphere was a bit less, based on the staff walking around. Came across as very disinterested and felt like you were being watched from the outside. Ate the food and left immediately, it didn't feel inviting to have a drink and stay seated.

Very special and very tasty oysters, highly recommended to eat them there. The service was good, but the atmosphere was not something I liked. Staff seem very disinterested and it feels like they want to make you look outside. Even on this afternoon where it wasn't particularly busy. Partly because of this, I stuck to the, again very tasty oysters and did not eat anything else.

Oysters and fish soup very tasty. Only the shrimp croquettes were a disappointment. Nicely crispy and delicious ragout taste, but there are no shrimps in it! We spoke to the waitress about it and she simply confirmed that there is only occasional shrimp in it “because they are made by hand”. Well tired….!?

Wat een geweldige ervaring! De oesters waren kraakvers, prachtig gepresenteerd en werkelijk overheerlijk. Je merkt aan alles dat hier passie voor kwaliteit en smaak centraal staat. Het personeel was vriendelijk, behulpzaam en gaf goed advies over bijpassende wijnen. De sfeer in de tent is ongedwongen maar stijlvol, met een mooi uitzicht op zee. Absolute aanrader voor iedereen die houdt van pure smaken en een goed glas erbij. Wij komen zeker terug!

Vandaag hier wezen eten voor de eerste keer. De oester zijn super vers en worden mooi gepresenteerd. De gin-tonic oester was echt geweldig en wij hadden er gelijk een paar bij besteld. Als hoofdgerecht hebben we allebei de Oosterscheldekreeft besteld en dat was in één woord “geweldig”! Verser dan dit kon eigenlijk niet en de kreeft werd mooi gepresenteerd op het bord. Het was echt het geld waard. De bediening was super vriendelijk, waardoor we ons hier helemaal thuis voelden. Al met al was het een geslaagde middag en we komen binnenkort zeker weer terug..!

We thought it was a very nice experience, the oysters were delicious, also not very expensive to buy in the shop for home. I found the lobster soup a bit too spicy but my husband loved it. Nice hostess when you are waiting for a place.

Wij zijn met een heel gezeldschap geweest. We hebben allemaal genoten van het eten. De sfeer zat er goed in en hebben een reuze middag gehad. Eten was lekker, de cocktails prima en het personeel heeft het plaatje compleet gemaakt met hun vriendelijkheid en enthousiasme. Zeker een aanrader en voor herhaling vatbaar.

Bij een bezoek in deze zaak krijg je meteen de warmste, mooiste, vriendelijkste ontvangst / bediening met de beste producten en nevenproducten van de gehele Oestercultuur, Pekaar is 1 van de allereersten, meest ervarende. Dat maakt het de Rolls Royce van de Havendijk! Wij komen al jaren en hopen dat zij nog jaren doorgaan. Congrats Pekaar team!

The food totally overpriced - the oysters without any toppings were good but the toppings, no matter how creative and tasty on their own they were, made the oyster taste completely disappear. We felt like sourcing oysters at a fishmonger and shucking them at home for a fraction of price would be an equivalent if not better experience. The toilets are outside and dirty, and, to our greatest surprise, had malfunctioning sink without water. Not being able to wash hands (was the kitchen stuff washing hands and appliances throughout the day?) was very worrisome. Poor hygiene and raw seafood is a clear recipe for a disaster...

1. Food - we tried lobster soup and set of 10 different oysters with some culinary twists. I wouldn’t recommend to try the set of 10 different flavors as out of these 10 the regular ones were the tastiest. In other ones where they add things like passion fruit, pure ice with gin and tonic, etc you cannot even taste the oyster and because of that the price of around 4 EUR per piece becomes too much. 2. Service and facilities - not the best. The waitress spilled oysters/sea water on our backpack and didn’t say a word. To reach the toilets you need to go out in the cold and you need to go through the tiniest kitchen where people are working. The view is nice though.

Deze middag naar Yerseke getogen om lekker oesters te eten. Bij Pekaar snappen ze hoe het werkt, lekker relaxed diverse smaken en variaties mogen proeven hoe oesters klaargemaakt kunnen worden. Daarnaast sashimi en kreeftensoep geproefd welke van zeer goede kwaliteit was. Goede buzz, het was lekker druk en uitstekend personeel die ons etentje Kompier maakten. Ben je een liefhebber van oesters dan is dit de place to be!

Heel gezellig met vriendinnen geluncht, genoten van de ruime keuze uit speciale oesters met daarbij een cava. Daarna heerlijk gegeten van de lekkere lunch gerechten. Het mooie uitzicht en hele fijne bediening maakte de middag compleet!

The food was very delicious, with a vew to the oyster culture pools - I had mussels and potato croquettes, from the pregnant Menu, my kid had a ham and cheese grilled sandwich and my hubby, oysters and wine. We shared the dessert of lemon- the tart was warm nicely contrasting with the ball of lemon ice cream. Everything was very tasty. The staff was lovely and brought coloring books and pencils to the kid. There is a baby changer in the toilet. The only problem is accessibility through stairs and location of the toilet. The toilet is outside, downstairs, passing through the kitchen, so you have to go in the rain or cold if you need to use it. The sink was out of service, so hand washing was done back inside. To get to it you pass under the food exhaustion from the kitchen and get a bit smoked with frying scents. Other than that it was great!

Very tasty meal! Very friendly service. We first took 6 oysters and liked them so much that we adjusted 4. Another shrimp tempura to share and then 2 pots of mussels. They really were the tastiest mussels I have eaten this year. We chose 2 more pralines with coffee. We will definitely come back!

Very pleasant surprise! I went to this one by chance, walking along the seafront I entered attracted by the particular menu and the terrace overlooking the pools. Excellent food and very friendly staff. I highly recommend doing an oyster tasting, especially the gin and pornstar martini. Highly recommended

Leuke locatie met uitzicht op de oesterputten. We hadden gelukkig gereserveerd, anders hadden we bot gevangen. Gastvrije ontvangst, aardig, vriendelijk personeel. We kozen de proeverij van 10 verschillende oesters, dat was overheerlijk en zeer verrassend. Na de eerste ronde nog een aantal oesters genomen die bij ons favoriet waren. Het 2e gerecht waren garnalenkroketjes en gegratineerde mosselen. Het was lekker maar voor mij persoonlijk was het brood aan de dikke kant en de mosselen waren iets te ver gegratineerd (kaas was wat te hard geworden). Om het toilet te vinden was een beetje een uitdaging. De keuken is klein en we vonden het een prestatie dat uit zo'n kleine ruimte zulke lekkere gerechten kwamen.

Tasty dishes: oysters and mussels. Friendly service. Surprised by the price of the basket of bread that accompanies the mussels. Too bad there is no 1/2 bottle of wine. Be careful, you have to go down a flight of stairs to get there. Parking is very complicated because the one next to it is full given the number of restaurants.

Kregen toch een tafel hoewel we niet gereserveerd hadden, werd er een plaatsje gemaakt. Daarna genoten van heerlijke oesters, wijn en nog wat andere gerechten. Ook nog wat van die prachtige oesters mee naar huis.. Een levendige sfeer en zeer vriendelijke mensen midden tussen de oesters, wat wil je nog meer.

01062024: drove to the Pekaar in Yerseke for an oyster lunch. We received a friendly welcome and made a choice from the extensive menu. The fish soup tasted great and was well filled. Afterwards we ate 10 different oysters with various toppings. All very tasty and definitely worth traveling to Yerseke.

Ate a pan of mussels, beautiful fresh mussels, perfectly cooked, could have used a little more bouquet and pepper in my opinion, and thought there was a lot of cooking liquid in the pan. Service very smooth and friendly. Enjoyed.
