So we get kicked out because we are Belgian. And because we didn't bring women inside... But it says they are LGBTQ+ friendly. What if I'm attracted to men and wanted to go inside with a man? Hopefully, these 2 men get fired ASAP. By these 2 men, I mean the man with the quiff and the man who is stocky and shakes quite a bit.

The waitress Eveliina was really fun and spontaneous! Amazing. Highly recommended.

The vegetarian chrung burger tastes very bland. Very little flavor and sauce. A shame. The rest was fine.

One of the best place to go in Eindhoven

A downright shameful experience. On Saturday afternoon, we came here with a group to eat and drink, spending over €700. Later that same day, we returned and were kicked out in a particularly arrogant and disrespectful manner. The explanation we were given was that there had supposedly been problems with Belgian customers the day before. Yet, as Belgians, we were apparently tarred with the same brush without any reason. A customer who spends hundreds of euros earlier in the day and is treated a few hours later as if he is unwelcome says a lot about the way this establishment treats people. This is no way to treat customers. No apologies, no understanding, just a particularly unfriendly and humiliating approach. A business can be ever so beautiful, but without respect for customers, there is little left. For us, this was the first and immediately the last time. Absolutely not recommended.

A great nightlife venue in Eindhoven where you can have a fun evening/night out. And that's despite the fact that I'm not exactly young anymore and find myself surrounded by young people when I am there. There is definitely a sense of inclusivity. Nice space, with a DJ playing all the time. The service is often substandard. Train your staff well. The toilets get very dirty. Station an employee there to keep them fresh and tidy. Opportunities for the owner. In my opinion, this is truly one of the better nightlife venues in Eindhoven, and with a little extra attention, you can make it even more fun and interesting.

We have been coming here for years for a fun night out. Last night, around 11:30, was no exception. We were asked for ID, which is fine of course. But the reason given was "to see where you live," which was rather odd. Apparently, Eindhoven as a place of residence was acceptable. The bouncer was not open to discussing this either and was quite curt and irritated because we asked about it. Inside, the atmosphere wasn't great. It was very busy at the bar, and it soon became clear why. We spent about half an hour trying to order 3 beers. The bar staff were busy with all sorts of things, but not with serving the guests. There was also a lot of incompetent staff who couldn't even find glasses and kept walking back and forth talking to each other. Many taps were empty. If you mentioned it, you were snapped at. The staff was very unfriendly and certainly not service-oriented. We have never had this problem before. Because of this, we decided to leave the place this time and go look for entertainment elsewhere. A real shame.

We just sat on the terrace and both ordered lunch. One dish arrived and the other didn't! So, all in all, one person didn't eat.

I had a wonderful experience at De Vooruitgang in Eindhoven. The service is excellent: fast, friendly, and with a smile. The staff is friendly and creates a cozy, relaxed atmosphere. You immediately feel welcome. It's a great place to eat or have a drink in the center of Eindhoven. Definitely recommended; we'd love to come back! Maud and Aimée And greetings to Jur.

I have been to here once with my friends wearing a black shirt and I was let in, the ambiance was cool (the music was repetitive but still nice-ish). A year after i go with my friend, shes wearing a strapless top and im wearing the same black shirt but a sleeveless version, but this time the security responds to me in a very rude way that me a “guy” is not allowed to enter because of my sleeveless shirt (fyi not a tank top and is still covering my shoulders). I ask him: “so my female friend and the rest of the girls inside wearing a strapless “revealing top” can enter but because im a “guy” i cant?” And he answers saying: “im talking to you not them, move along”. I understand some places like to create a specific vibe in their space but we are in 2026, you guys are still being sexist with clothes?

This place wont let my guy friend wearing a sleeveless t-shirt inside at night but well a bunch of girls wearing tank and strapless tops in…? Very sexists place and repetitive music

We ordered the Steak Argentina twice; upon serving, the steak was practically cold! And very salty. When a friendly young man asked about this, we pointed it out, to which he replied that he would report it to the chef. However, nothing was done about it; very poor!

Victoria did an excellent job making sure we had a cold drink while my colleague and I enjoyed time socializing on the patio. Great service. We will definitely come back.

I felt it was a bit of a step backward today, because we were given a drinks menu to order from, but the drinks didn't match. The lemonade didn't have mint or lime. When we inquired, we were told that it was out of stock. I wasn't satisfied with that, so then someone else came to tell us that they had a different, and therefore new, menu?? I would have given a discount as a host, but suddenly there was mint after all. Otherwise, the atmosphere was great, but our appetite was gone, so we went to Zoet en Zout and spent almost 200 euros on food there.

Up until a few years ago, I used to visit De Vooruitgang regularly for years – for lunch, sitting on the terrace, dining, dancing, and often on New Year's Eve – and it was always the best pub on the market. And with the tastiest food. Today I was back for the first time in about 7 years (because I no longer live in Eindhoven) and what a huge disappointment. A very bizarre waiter who kept throwing his arms wide and acting like some kind of actor or clown. He kept leaning over the table and looking us very closely when he wanted to ask something. He kept coming to the table and kept trying to strike up a conversation with us and trying to say funny things. Very inappropriate and strange. We ordered a Club Salmon and the quality was very poor. Old, dry, and cold toasted bread, cucumber that was wilted and had clearly been out of the fridge for a long time. The salmon itself was okay, but I think the whole sandwich had been prepared long in advance and was absolutely not fresh. I also spoke to other guests who all found it strange as well and even complained about Club Zalm. Next time to De Wildeman next door. It was interesting that every seat at every other cafe was full except at De Vooruitgang. Such a shame for what used to be a fantastic cafe.

Nice little restaurant on the busy Market Square in Eindhoven. The teriyaki chicken sandwich is tasty. The service is quick (even though it was really freezing hot......) and the beers were nice and cold.

The food is really good. We had the sticky chicken and a focaccia as starters. This was a good start; for the main course, we had the chicken burger and Korean BBQ pork. It was really good, the staff was super friendly, and everything was very fast.

Very disappointing, an average young man with blond hair, does not pay attention to the guests, does not ask if everything is to our liking, is loud-mouthed to guests and is irritated at the table, this is not how it should be.

Been to a lot of Einhoven a lot and enjoyed all places, except here. TERRIBLE SERVICE so we left. Queen was much better. They walked past us many times. I even went to grab my own menus and the male waiter moved out my way to let me! And then walked past me and helped people who arrived well after me. I noticed others experiencing the same and overheard their frustrations. Their seating areas were almost less clean than others on that block.

Thomas and Kane are very friendly employees. They take good care of the customers, and if something isn't possible, they immediately look for a solution for you.

Here you get a specialty beer in a made-up 0.2cl glass for 6.50!! A Triple Karmeliet in such a glass is an absolute travesty and a rip-off. My remark was met with a shrug….

The food was delicious and the service is top-notch.

Today we made a reservation at De Vooruitgang, specifically asking if we could sit on the terrace. After making the reservation, we only received a confirmation, so you assume that this is possible. If that wasn't the case, they could have at least called. Upon arrival, it turned out the terrace was completely full and nothing had been arranged. An employee tried to help politely, but eventually sent us to the manager. The manager was downright rude, unprofessional, and giggly. His response was literally: “You can sit inside or stand in line until a table becomes available; that table will be all yours.” Extra disappointing, because I have been here often and previous experiences were actually good. This time it felt completely unwelcoming and not taken seriously at all. In the end, we left and went to sit somewhere else. After this experience, unfortunately, I will not be returning here.

Definitely worth seeing on the inside. Nice for a quick bite to eat, and our waiter had certainly reaped the benefits of hospitality school, with the necessary professionalism and friendliness. Nice how it transforms into a very pleasant dance venue in the evening. Best of both worlds.

First and foremost, a cozy and beautifully decorated place. A nice mix of hip and ‘classy’. We went for dinner here on Monday via Social Deal. The deal (2 courses) was very well presented and delicious. The service was friendly and arrived at the right moment every time. We didn't have to wait long, but certainly didn't feel rushed either. We definitely enjoyed it!

If you have plenty of time and aren't thirsty or hungry, this is the perfect little eatery. Waiting forty-five minutes and still no drinks…

Everything was perfect - had a business lunch and everyone was happy. Friendly service, tasty meals, we didn’t wait for long. I don’t understand the negative comments here on google, I have nothing to complain and definitely will book the table again.

The service left much to be desired and the food was inedible. The wrong food arrived 3 times, and when the food finally did arrive, they had forgotten my dish and there was a hair in my daughter's food!!! When paying, I asked if a discount was possible due to the long wait and hygiene issues, but the waiter said that we had received my daughter's dish again anyway, without the hair....what terrible service, unprofessional and unfriendly....will not be coming here again.

A very nice place; when you enter, you can feast your eyes for a moment, there is so much to see! It is nicely decorated. We took a seat on the side, the staff are all friendly and I had the lunch special. The soup was tasty, the croquette was tasty, and the poached egg was also tasty, the shrimp were also tasty. We were both satisfied with our food 👍 and will definitely return 👌

Although I normally have understanding for house rules and policies, I still want to express my disappointment regarding my experience on King's Day. I was refused permission to use the toilet despite being in possession of a valid international toilet pass. You did not even check the pass (even though it contains a photo and explanation in 3 languages). I understand that there are situations where access is restricted, but a toilet pass is specifically intended for people who are granted quick access for medical reasons. This toilet pass is issued by a medical team and is personalized. This creates stressful and uncomfortable situations. I hope that more attention will be paid to this in the future. Hopefully, this review will be useful. In other hospitality establishments, this was not a problem, and they were familiar with this toilet pass.

Every time I go, I'm met with disrespect. They only allow single woman inside. I arrive at the door with my boyfriend, and this is the response I get from the security guard: they'll let me in because I'm a woman, but they won't let my boyfriend in. Imagine, if I went with my husband, they'd let me in, but they wouldn't let him in. I've never seen such nonsense in my life. Moreover, even though I spoke with the manager, no solution has been found yet. I consider this to be low-quality and rude behavior.

The food was tasty, and good ingredients are used. The limoncello spritz was especially delicious! The outdoor terrace was cozy with a good atmosphere.

I came to your place for lunch today. I had ordered a crispy chicken sandwich on white bread. The waitress brought our lunch and placed a plate with brown bread down. She then took the plate away and came back without saying anything with a plate of white bread. Very strange. Subsequently, the chicken was cold and undercooked. The chicken was slippery and jelly-like. I indicated that I felt the chicken was not cooked through; the waiter replied "that's supposed to be" without looking at the chicken and walked away. I feel like I was not taken seriously and I find this very rude. Not even an apology. When the plates were being cleared, I indicated again that I didn't like the chicken and that it was still raw. The waiter replied "yes" and walked away. I find this truly awful. I work in the hospitality industry myself and I really do know what a cooked piece of chicken looks like. Once again, very unfriendly staff. That same evening I suffered a lot from severe stomach pain and nausea. I will never come back here again.

We had lunch at your place today. My girlfriend ordered a crispy chicken sandwich. The chicken was made of jelly and was undercooked at all. We pointed this out and they said ‘that’s how it’s supposed to be’ in a condescending tone; we felt like we weren’t being taken seriously. After we had paid and pointed out once again that this really couldn’t be right—not so much for ourselves, but for future customers—the waiter just kept saying yes, and we didn’t even hear an apology. We walked out after this, and our pleasant shopping day was completely ruined by this. We will never be coming back here!

Super service! After lunch with two colleagues, I needed to make a few urgent calls on my laptop and went upstairs on the recommendation of the staff – it wasn't actually open, but Jur made it very comfortable (a drink and coffee during the calls). Nice, artisanal, friendly service and super customer-focused – thanks again, Jur.

Good and sufficient food. Poor service. Failed several times. It took 6 minutes to get your food on the table, but no cutlery. The table was very wobbly and broken. This came very late, and I forgot to enter it into the system after inquiring.

We unexpectedly ended up at Vooruitgang with a social deal. We were surprised by the delicious food at a great price. And the service, especially Thomas, was friendly and humorous, so we had a wonderful evening with women on this International Women's Day.

High cocktails are not recommended. Upon arrival, they weren't aware of our reservation, even though it had been confirmed twice. The table wasn't set and was sticky. The waiter's first reaction was: "They'll be happy with that at the bar." No plates were provided. We ate off napkins. Then, they didn't cater for one vegetarian, even though this was indicated twice, and we even had to pay extra for it. The food was cold because we had to wait for our cocktails. When we paid, we were asked: "Can you afford that?" All in all, a real shame.

Great place for lunch. Extensive menu with dishes that are prepared in a slightly different way. Also, a nice atmosphere and friendly service. There's just one major downer: don't go to the restroom. It smells really unpleasant in there! Unheard of for such a nice restaurant. It's been like this for a few months now. Such a shame!

Bad experience last Monday. There was no beer on tap, which was already disappointing. Furthermore, we received the bill around 9:30 PM, even though the restaurant is open until 11:00 PM and we were still comfortably seated. Then the door was opened, making it cold and making us feel like we had to leave. Meanwhile, the kitchen staff was sitting outside on the patio drinking pints. The restrooms were also filthy and smelled strongly of urine. This didn't make us feel at all hospitable; we felt more chased away than welcomed.

The welcome could be a bit warmer ('no reservation, what are you doing here' experience), but once inside, all lights are green.

A bar made me pay €10 to use the restroom during carnival without consulting me. A bit of a waste of money.

We visited this place for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. There were two waiters actively serving guests and managing tables. Finding a table was relatively easy. We ordered very simple drinks: a black coffee and a cola zero. After about 10 minutes, a waiter came back and asked again what we wanted to drink. We replied (with a smile) that we had already ordered, but repeated the order anyway. Shortly after, another waiter took our lunch order: a chicken club sandwich and Eggs Benedict. The food arrived after about 15 minutes, which was good — it was warm and tasted great. However, our drinks were still not served. We asked the waiter if there was any update from the bar, and he said they were very busy. The drinks finally arrived when we were almost finished with our lunch. To make things more confusing, the waiter initially brought us two glasses of wine, which we did not order. The couple sitting next to us confirmed those drinks were actually theirs. From their conversation, it also seemed they were not satisfied with the timing of their drinks. Overall, the food quality was good, but the service — especially drink handling and communication — was disorganised.

Cold coffee (thankfully, we got a new one) and a filthy floor. It used to be much better. Fix it, and you can shine again!

Friendly staff and very tasty food

We were allowed to sit upstairs but were quickly ushered away from our table because "this area is closed." There was no sign of this, and all the candles were lit. We were given a table that was practically a step away from our neighbors. Hanging light bulbs were (deliberately) switching on and off, and red spotlights were shining on our table. This makes the food look absolutely awful. A wobbly table and a shouting waitress who came to ask if it was good when our plates had been in front of us for just a second completed this overstimulating experience.
