From the first bite, it felt like autumn itself had arrived at the table. The game buffet was an explosion of deep, full flavors, tender meat, rich sauces, and herbs that struck just the right chord. A true sensation for the palate. Kudos to the chef. The space exuded warmth and coziness: soft lighting, a crisp atmosphere, and a welcome that felt like joining good friends. Everything fell into place here: taste, atmosphere, and service (extremely friendly 🌟 Very pleasant live music. An evening that will stay with you, and definitely worth repeating.💫

We accidentally discovered that a game week was being held this week and that there was still room for Friday evening. We received a warm welcome from the host and enjoyed a delicious game menu. Beautiful combinations, incredibly tender meat, and super friendly service. It was nice that the chef himself served the dishes at the table. All in all, a wonderful evening!

Had a party in a very atmospheric venue. The restaurant was meticulously designed and decorated. Excellent buffet, fast and friendly staff.

What a disappointment... Upon arriving with our racing bikes, we wanted to have lunch here, but to keep them visible, we hadn't put them in the bike rack. There was some criticism, and they were allowed to stay there as a very special exception. After all, we neatly placed them in the rack and sat on the veranda, partly because a couple was already there. When I told them we were in the front row, I was told to sit on the side. When I asked why, the answer was curt: "We weren't being served in the front row." Strange, because the couple had cutlery ready for lunch, and they were just as surprised as we were. After sitting briefly, we left, and to our surprise, there were bikes in the first place we chose for our bikes that were apparently allowed. I've been coming to Vroolijke Frans since I was a child (I played football as a kid at Oeken and attended many a party). I enjoyed being back, but that was the last time. I've never in my life (now 66 years old) been treated so rudely by a staff member. What a shame...

We had a wonderful lunch here. Friendly and efficient service. The mustard soup is particularly good! One piece of advice: a smoke-free patio would be very welcome. The smell of smoke spoils the taste of good food. Otherwise: we thoroughly enjoyed it! If you're looking for a cozy and delicious meal, this is the place to be!

We were (almost the only ones) inside with my 94-year-old father-in-law, and the music was blaring. We could barely hold a conversation. The service was all very young, friendly staff, but they forgot a lot of things. The food was good, but I found the dessert price-quality ratio inadequate.

Very special!!!😍 Due to severe overstimulation due to brain damage, I have not been able to eat out for almost 10 years. When people next to me talk and others on the other side, plus sounds of spoons, cutlery, chairs moving, clinking etc. I hear everything mixed up and just as loud. And now dad turned 85 in May. And so I can't eat out with the whole bunch. And we still wanted to. Long live De Vrolijke Frans in Brummen! Plenty of space around it and dads and I were allowed to sit on our own terrace, away from the rest. And my furniture was adjusted because of the many allergies! I had a DELICIOUS meal!!! Chapeau! Finally again! How special! Thanks De Vrolijke Frans for the service! Worth repeating!

It was a fantastic party with Madness. The atmosphere was incredibly good. The only negative point is the price of a glass of wine compared to the content of the glass. Never received so little wine for such a high price. This really doesn't make sense anymore

Review of De Vrolijke Frans – Brummen De Vrolijke Frans is a cozy location to eat, both inside and outside on the terrace. The food is excellent and offered for a reasonable price. The service is friendly and creates a relaxed atmosphere. Definitely a nice place to stop by for a snack and a drink!

From the first contact to the big day itself, everything was perfectly arranged down to the last detail and a lot of thought was put into making the wedding completely according to your wishes. The warm atmosphere and the hospitable team have ensured that we and especially our guests felt very welcome. The food (completely vegan!) was delicious and beautifully presented. The atmosphere of the location, both inside and outside, was also exactly what we were looking for for our Peaky Blinders & Bohemian theme. The service was very friendly and professional, and we really felt in good hands. In short: We couldn't have asked for a better place to spend our special day. It was a fairytale come true! We look back on our wedding day with great pleasure and can recommend De Vroolijke Frans to anyone who is looking for a top location for a wedding or other special moment. Thank you very much for everything!

What a nice place. It seems like it's in the middle of nowhere, but that's not so bad. With perhaps the most distinctive menu in the area, a chef who can cook and the fact that they also know what is and is not possible for people with celiac disease (gluten intolerance), this restaurant is definitely worth a visit if you are on holiday in the area.

Cozy place for a cup of tea during a walk. The staff is very friendly and helpful even though it was quite busy. One more tip: cut the ginger into much thinner slices for the ginger tea. Then you need half the ginger (cheaper for the cafe) and it is also ready faster. Now I had to wait 10 minutes and it was still not really strong, even though it had a generous amount of ginger in it. Nevertheless, I would like to come back someday.

What a nice cheerful Frans. Nice lunch and coffee. Friendly staff. I also think the outdoor event would be fun. Worth coming back in the spring or summer when the weather is better. The area is also great for a walk, which we did before visiting 'Frans'.

Hare pepper without hare. After a good Mustard Soup I thought I would get a tasty stuffed Hare Pepper like I haven't eaten for a long time. Unfortunately I only found 1 piece of hare in the predominant sauce and dish of €27. After asking if it tasted good and my answer that the hare had flown by, I was offered to get a portion of sauce with hare. Because I was already full, I declined this offer. Too bad they didn't offer a free coffee or something afterwards. And today we ate again where the Mustard Soup, Mushrooms, Flite Mignon and the Haddock were excellent. Pascal has kept his word. And the two young ladies in the service deserve a 10. How neat, professional, smooth and polite👌. Until next time.

Along the way we came across a sign for the Vrolijke Frans. The name was right so signs followed. Until a T junction where there was no sign anymore. We turned right and ended up in a very rural area. Didn't see any more plates, then dropped out and went to eat in Brummen

Unexpectedly in the area and decided to have lunch at De Vroolijke Frans. That turned out to be a good plan! Friendly welcome and the lunch order arrived quickly on the table. A few times someone came to ask if everything tasted good and was sufficient. In short, a place to remember! Parking “in front of the door”. Clean toilets.

In the little French. No sugar and spoon with tea. No cookie or chocolate. No decaf. Very bad acoustics.

We had a delicious meal here last Saturday. We started with a salmon tartare and mustard soup. As main courses we chose the chicken skewer and the rib roast. We ended the dinner with a shared tiramisu. The staff was very friendly and we had a nice chat with them. The food was of good quality, and the terrace outside offers a nice place to sit. The rib roast is highly recommended! A delicious piece of meat that was very well prepared. We will definitely come back here again.

We had heard very good things about it, but unfortunately for my aunt and daughter today was a big disappointment. They cycled to Brummen this morning and had a great time playing in the sandbox. When my aunt asked inside if a sandwich could be ready at 12:15 (they open for lunch at 12:00) so that they could get home on time, the host said: "We open at 12:00, but have a few groups and I don't know if that will work." Although it is a beautiful place to stop, play and enjoy, the hospitality here is hard to find. Reason for all of us not to go here anymore. Shame.

What a nice place! Good food, attentive service and a spacious terrace with plenty of space for children to play. Plus there was live music tonight. We enjoyed it and will come back when we are in the area.

I celebrated my birthday here in Kleine Frans, it was great. The two girls serving were great, nothing was too much for them. It was the evening of the Netherlands against Turkey, so you installed a projector and a large screen so that we could see the match. The fact that Holland won was the icing on the cake, because everyone was happy. Thanks again for the nice evening. TOP.

You really have to go here. After a beautiful bike ride it is a great place to have lunch. The terrace is very nice! There is plenty of opportunity for the children to play. On the lunch menu you will find regional dishes such as bread made with country ham, cheese or brie. We chose the cheese and ham. Delicious! The young, enthusiastic service is great! Service oriented and friendly. De Vroolijke Frans is located near Brummen junction 42 for cyclists. There is also a Kleine Frans on site for weddings and parties. We enjoyed it and stayed until it started raining...

Good service and delicious wines. The house wine (white) from France is excellent. Quiet but cozy atmosphere and long opening hours. Parking in front of the door is also nice and there is a disabled parking space.
