De Witte Zwaan in Nieuwmarkt/Lastage

Small place serving typical Dutch cuisine, found thanks to good reviews. They don't have a printed menu, but the waitress explained everything to us. Delicious traditional Dutch cuisine! The pâtés are out of this world! I recommend both the meat and fish ones. The chicken was also delicious. Fast service. Prices are average for Amsterdam.

We had a company outing here. The whole team and their partners cooked and ate under excellent supervision. Everything tasted delicious. This was also thanks to a fantastic team of colleagues who easily included their partners in the group, allowing them to simply be themselves and participate. The dishes were also very manageable and still flavorful.

We came for a team event, and my colleagues and I cooked delicious tapas together, then ate what we'd cooked. It was a fantastic event. The ingredients were fresh and high-quality, and the chefs were very attentive and kind.

We ordered beef tartar with raw egg yolk and local brewed beer. They were all fresh and awesome in such a Brilliant sunny day. Service is moderate which staff didn’t give us much attention so it took a little while till we caught them.

The star is because this place is not a restaurant, or at least it is no longer one, they should change the name of restaurant

We had a party and were allowed to cook ourselves. Under the supervision of chefs. Who were not always friendly. It is a pity that the drinks (and especially soft drinks) were very poorly arranged. Food was very tasty, logical: home-prepared :)

I grew up in the city center of Amsterdam, and tonight one of my friends invited me to have dinner at this restaurant. Had an amazing night, a variety of amazing Amsterdam brewed beverage’s, and traditional dutch food presented in a fancy yet casual way: a great representation of the dutch culture. Moreover, their ‘bitterballen’(a typical dutch snack) is not overpriced, a rarity for a high end restaurant in the Netherlands! Highly Recommend it if you want to combine a lovely diner night out, with a true Dutch experience!

It was really nice, from the beginning we had a good welcoming, the service really gentle and well the food amazing. If you want to have a Dutch experience this is the place. Recomiendo este restaurante si quieres tener un experiencia agradable con tu persona favorita.

Very very tasty, cozy in side, unique atmosphere, friendly staff and good service. Definitely will come back my next visit to Amsterdam.

This is probably the best restaurant I have ever eaten at. The food was out of this world! We had two different dishes and both was amazing, same with the dessert. The different tastes mixed well, it was a great experience. This restaurant should have a michelin star.

4.5 stars if I could. Friendly service, albeit a little "unhurried". We had the 4 course tasting menu, which was very good indeed, except that a few of the reductions were rather too sweet for my taste. A limited selection of wines by the glass, but all were good.

I dined there last night and loved it. I ordered the catch of the day and the organic Grenache wine, and everything was simple and delicious. The manager was very attentive and pleasant. The decor is unassuming and cozy. I will definitely go back.

Wonderful little Restaurant in the heart of Old Amsterdam. If you are looking for a cosy, welcoming and warm atmosphere, you are perfectly right at The De Witte Zwaan. The Food is at its best. Simple and delicious. I had a Catch of the day and the Cook understood his craft very well. The atmosphere nourishes a private setting, where you can have great talks with a close friend. The service is, open, competent and heartwarmingly human. Especially to be served by Roos (pronounced like the flower Rose), was such a delightful and refreshing encounter. One can drop any socially conditioned behavior and be him or her self, because you are met with direkt human-nes. So in the end you are not only nourished by the delicious food, but also by pleasant shared moments. Thank you for that nice evening.

Superb service and food in a very pleasant atmosphere

Prettig en erg gastvrij restaurant. We werden erg goed geholpen, het was persoonlijk en de bediening was vlot. De kaart is niet heel uitgebreid, wat ze de mogelijkheid biedt om met verse producten erg lekkere gerechten op tafel te zetten, die ook mooi geserveerd worden. Het was een fijne manier om weer met de Hollandse keuken in aanraking te komen.

Smaller restaurant in the city centre, known for its modern dutch cuisine. We had a friendly and professional service serving us the four course surprise menu. What we had was very delicious regional food and a variety of local beers. I'd definitely go there again or recommend this for having a great evening.

While walking towards the square in the city center, we stumbled upon this place and it was such a gem! We’ve been traveling for weeks, from Israel, to France, Belgium, and finally arriving Amsterdam, so we’ve had a lot of food already, but this was by far our favorite. Very cute little spot, quaint, extremely friendly server, and amazing food! We were happy with every dish we got. Highly, highly recommend. If I visit Amsterdam again, I will 100% come back.

Fast läuft man daran vorbei, einfach ("reduziert") eingerichtet, aber die hervorragende Küche und die sehr freundliche Bedienung machen dies Skandal wett . EMPFEHLUNG !

Recommended by our Airbnb host and we absolutely loved it. Tasty! We tried it on the day we arrived and will be going back again tonight. Every thing is perfect, our number 1 fav dish is the one in the picture, looks simple but full of surprises. Hidden gem!
