My all-time favorite Thai in Rotterdam! They serve authentic, real Thai dishes here. You can taste that they cook with passion and use fresh ingredients. The owner and staff are super friendly, making you feel welcome immediately. 10/10, highly recommended!

I have been to Thailand several times, and Deli Bird perfectly captures the authentic flavors. The food tastes and feels like I am truly back in Thailand for a moment. A great experience every time. The food is delicious, the portions are generous, and the atmosphere is always cozy. The Pad Kra Pao and the Pad Thai are my favorites. The service is always friendly and welcoming. When the weather is nice, it is also lovely to sit on the terrace at Deliplein. As far as I'm concerned, it is highly recommended if you want to eat really good Thai food in Rotterdam.

I went for dinner here with friends last weekend and we were super happy with our choice. As soon as you enter, you immediately feel the warm, authentic Thai atmosphere. The service was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the pad thai, green curry, and mango sticky rice. Everything was super fresh, well-seasoned, and perfectly balanced between sweet, salty, and spicy. You can really taste that it was made with love. In short, highly recommended for anyone who loves real Thai food in a cozy setting. Despite the extreme heat, the service remained friendly, fast, and incredibly hard-working. I have a lot of respect for their dedication and hospitality. They did everything they could to help everyone well. Compliments to the entire team! I will definitely be back!

Bad. Food of mediocre quality, and what you get for it is simply too expensive. One main course smelled like wet dog; I really expect something different at a Thai restaurant. The service is chaotic. One person already had their main course while another had to wait another 20 minutes.

Go here if you want to try seriously flavorful, delicious Thai food in the Netherlands. The cocktails and the signature Thai drinks are also a treat - my favorites are the “Thaijito” and the pineapple smoothie. The servers are lovely and despite the restaurant being busy due to its popularity, there is never a long wait for the food. Kudos to the chefs and the whole team!

The food was OK, we really enjoyed, but we ask for tap water, and they bring us 2 small glasses of tap water that we didn't know we had to pay €4 for both, I've been working in restaurants and charge for tap water is something really low

I have been visiting Deli Bird for years and have always enjoyed my meals there. That is precisely why I find it all the more disappointing to have to write this review. Last Saturday, while eating the fish cakes, I literally got a metal screw of about 1.5 centimeters in my mouth. I dread to think what the consequences could have been if I had swallowed it. As far as I am concerned, this goes much further than a hair in the food or a dish prepared incorrectly; this is a potentially dangerous situation. When I reported this to the wait staff, the screw was taken to the kitchen. I immediately indicated that I was extremely shocked by this and was curious how the restaurant would resolve the matter. After some time, new fish cakes were simply brought to the table. Although that was meant kindly, I honestly felt it was disproportionate to the severity of what had happened. Later, I indicated that I did not consider a portion of replacement fish cakes an appropriate solution for a situation involving a metal screw in my food. The wait staff indicated that they would discuss this internally and get back to me. However, that feedback did not come until we wanted to pay the bill. Then we were told that it had been decided internally “not to do anything about this,” since we had already received free fish cakes. When we indicated that we did not consider this an appropriate resolution, we were literally told that we simply shouldn't have eaten the new fish cakes if we had expected more compensation. In other words: the responsibility was placed on us instead of on the restaurant that had served a screw in the food. I found it even more remarkable that, according to the staff, the manager or owner was not present and had not been consulted about this either. There were no phone calls, no consultations, and there seemed to be no urgency whatsoever to take a potentially serious food safety incident seriously. Ultimately, we paid the full bill and left because we had a performance to attend. However, what stuck with me the most is not even the screw itself, but the way we were treated afterwards. No apologies from management, no appropriate solution, no sense of responsibility whatsoever, and even an attempt to shift the blame to the guest. I find it incredibly sad to have to write this, precisely because I enjoyed coming here for years. But after this experience and the way this situation was handled, I will not be returning here. A screw in your food can be a mistake. How you subsequently treat your guests is a choice.

The food is really delicious. Customer service could really be better in general. One lady was downright rude. A shame. I don't think we will ever go again, unless for takeout or a quick bite.

The food is good. Lots of choice, including vegetarian options. Service is fast. Prices are a bit higher compared to other Thai restaurants, though. The noise level is high, which is difficult if you want to have a conversation yourself.

Fine food, authentic Thai. However, we asked for an extra half bowl of rice (it was a bit too little); without asking, a (over)full bowl arrived (half of which went back) and €2.50 was added to the bill for it. Scandalous!!! Authentic Dutch??

Having just returned from our holiday in Thailand and wanting to hold onto that holiday feeling a little longer, we met up with our friends at this Thai restaurant, Deli Bird Thai Kitchen, on Deliplein in Rotterdam. We made a reservation in advance.

It's okay for Rotterdam. In Germany youl would expect the prices to be maybe half of what we paid, for what we got.

We had a delicious meal at Deli Bird. Around the corner from Feniks. The only downside was that it took a very long time for the food to arrive; there was "something in the kitchen." This happened even though others did get theirs and were already home. Just say you forgot and apologize.

I ordered yesterday 2 pad thai for take away. On the second bite I realised that there was something hard in the food, which turned out to be a staple (nietje). I went straight to spit out the food and then I saw that there were more staples (nietjes) in the noodles. In totaal there were more than 10 nietjes in my dish which is not only unacceptable but also very dangerous if these are swallowed. I went back to the restaurant where i got my money back. Nevertheless, this should not have happened.

A great takeaway restaurant in Rotterdam, right next to the Fenix ​​Food Factory. Delicious Thai food at good prices. A wide selection of dishes. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and can assist with menu choices. English is also available if Dutch isn't spoken.

Great food!!!! Are you open on Christmas?

Last week, I went out for dinner with a friend at Deli Bird after first visiting Museum Fenix. We walked past it and felt like sitting down quietly together for a bit, so we spontaneously decided to go inside. It was quite busy, but fortunately, the staff managed to free up a table for us where we could stay for an hour and a half—exactly enough time for an appetizer and a main course. The food was truly delicious, with rich, pure flavors and clearly a lot of attention paid to the preparation. The quality was excellent. If I were to mention one thing, it would be that the presentation could be a bit more refined; that would complete the whole experience. The atmosphere is lively and warm, although the noise is quite loud and you sit close together. Because of this, it is less suitable for a quiet or intimate conversation, but perfect for a cozy evening with good food and a relaxed atmosphere. The staff was friendly and attentive, which made the experience complete. As far as I am concerned, Deli Bird is definitely highly recommended for anyone who loves good and flavorful food in a lively environment. One tip, though: making a reservation is recommended, because it is busy, and rightly so.

It was the first time I was eating Thai food and I liked it.

Food delicious, but not really a cozy location

Pad Thai tasted straight like fish sauce and was totally wet. Served a wrong dish and then when asked about it the staff became extremely rude and didn’t want to do anything about it. I dont recommend this place tbh, + the price was also a surprise, 6,50 for a Chang, for 2 people a total of 60 euros for a terrible service and bad food 😬

6.50 for a Chang beer and 21.50 for a green curry. How are things?

Food took 1 hour to arrive after ordering. It arrived incomplete and we had to remind twice the waiters about it. And you know, it can happen with a restaurant 3/4 full, but then the rice we received was cold (which matched perfectly with our curry that had already become cold, see photo below). Extra bad points for the very dry extra portion of rice.

I think this is a fa-mo-r-y place! The food is truly outstanding, it feels like I'm in the middle of Thailand. The Phad Thai, in particular, is the standout. Unfortunately, the Pad Thai was very sticky with far too much sauce. When I asked, they mixed the tamarind with tomato. Not what I'm used to from a good street food experience in Thailand itself. Or most Thai restaurants. I really didn't like it. They were happy to prepare something else for me, but I still had to pay for it. Disappointing considering you're paying €20 for something that wasn't good. A shame. And when I paid, I pointed this out again, saying they could easily satisfy a customer by offering a different dish. I was laughed at for that. It ruined your evening.

van tevoren gereserveerd voor de zekerheid, had drie sate stokjes met drie garnalen per stokje besteld met een portie Pandang rijst en een kokos ijsje als toetje, de drie stokjes met dus negen middelgrote garnalen was zeer smaakvol, gelukkig want de Pandang rijst met wat witte kool was wit en bleef wit, smakeloos dus, jammer, bij elke hap rijst dus een garnaal heeft de maaltijd gered, maar het ijsje op het einde van het feestje maakte ook veel goed, wat een lekker ijs hebben ze daar zeg, heerlijk, ik zou dus de hele maaltijd met een gemiddeld willen beoordelen. het kostte me dan 15 euro maar dat was het eigenlijk wel waard hoor.

I eat here very often, both dine-in and takeaway. Time for a review. ;-) The food is delicious, just like in Thailand, sometimes even better! I have no complaints, except that the prices have gone up a bit recently, which I can understand in these times.

Authentic Thai cuisine, and quite spicy dishes are also available. However, they are very cautious with the fish sauce; perhaps that is because most customers don't like it that much. There are quite a few tables inside. When the weather is nice, you can also sit outside on a square under tall trees, which is very pleasant.

Leider enttäuschend: Service ist nicht organisiert und sucht die Tische. Uns wurde das falsche Essen serviert, anstatt zu reagieren wurde erst diskutiert und nach 20 MInuten das richtige Essen serviert, während mein Essen in der Zwischenzeit kalt wurde. Der Kellner hat dann das falsch servierte Essen mit einem Lächeln nicht mit auf die Rechnung gesetzt - keine Entschuldigung oder dergleichen. Mein Hauptgang Plah Sam Rod war ungenießbar - das Essen schwamm in Öl! Wir waren enttäuscht. Kann ich nicht empfehlen!

Amazing authentic thai food. All tasted really authentic. We had Thai fried rice, Pad thai, fish fried cookies, red curry, sticky rice with mango.

The decor is basic, the staff not very friendly or welcoming, but man, the food is truly insanely delicious. That makes up for everything. Authentic Thai flavors—you don't find them very often. I also like the idea: it's all about the food; everything else is secondary.

Best Thai food outside of Bangkok

We didn't have a very positive experience. We waited for over an hour and a half for our meals, and when they arrived, they were at best okay. We expected more given the price of the dishes.

The kitchen is incapable of serving a simple curry in 1.5 hours. I cannot judge the quality because I had to leave without food. The staff strings you along. Really not okay.

We were a group of 8 people. We ordered Pad Thai, and it was very good, people really liked it. The amount of food was nice. The problem was that we had to wait around an hour and a half to get our food. Also, the food arrived little by little with big waiting periods in between. They are clearly under staffed and could use some training. I ordered a coconut juice that I didn't really like because it was very very sweet. Nothing wrong about it, just keep in mind that before you order.

I've been coming here for years and I've never been disappointed. I really enjoy the food & the service is always good. I especially love the mango sticky rice! The outdoor seating also makes it a very nice place to have a meal during the summertime. Deli bird is not fancy, but the prices are still quite high. It is also often very busy, it is recommended to call ahead to make a reservation.

Great Thai restaurant in former chinatown. It can be busy so reservation is recommended. Their Tom Kha soup is rich an spicey. I tried their phad bai krapau which wasn't really spicey altough the symbols on the menu suggest otherwise. I wonder if there is some relation to Thai Bird on Zeedijk Amsterdam. They were at least equally good.

Really delicious plates for me and my colleagues while visiting Rotterdam and the service was excellent. My dish, green curry, had an ideal amount of heat to it and the portion was generous. Would seek this place out on my return to the city.

The red curry is nowhere as tasty as here. The papaya salad is delicious: quite spicy but great in combination with the sticky rice.

As if you are in Thailand again. Real Thai women in the kitchen and that is reflected in the food. Good curries and other typical Thai dishes, I really enjoyed the pad Thai here 🤩. Tip: make a reservation because it is always busy, they also have a take away restaurant next door.

We just went to our favorite Thai restaurant in Katendrecht and were surprised to see that the prices have increased significantly, by 3 euros per dish. We also have a small child who usually doesn't finish his dish completely, and we asked for a small plastic container to take it home with. But another surprise: they charged us 1 euro extra for that. In addition, we drank tap water, for which they also charged us another euro per person. Quite a shame that they took this approach, because now returning customers might think twice.

Due to a visit to the Walhalla theater, I made a reservation well in advance for last Saturday. When we arrived at Deli Bird, the place was PACKED, and not a single free table. We suggested we go for a drink with the neighbor and Welmoed would come and get us when our table became available. Only 15 minutes (and 1 drink) later Welmoed came to pick us up personally and offered us a drink from the company for our patience and cooperation. Then we could order and we had a really DELICIOUS meal at this fantastic Thai! We will come back again soon. RECOMMENDED.

Delicious! Our favourite Thai place in Rotterdam. The atmosphere might throw some people off. It’s not inviting to sit long and eat from fancy plates. But the food is so good! The moment you take a bite of their delicious meals, the atmosphere does not matter anymore.

RUDE. Never experienced such lousy service! They apparently don't know the word customer service. Placed an order for collection via Thuisbezorgd and what do I get? A closed door! I called both phone numbers listed—three times!—and no answer. Today I get an employee on the phone who casually claims that I was not at the right counter, but at the restaurant. Absolutely not clearly marked anywhere! Google only leads you to the restaurant and there was not a single note to indicate that there was a separate counter. And still no response when I called on the spot. Now I try to discuss a simple solution like a voucher (I don't even want my money back) and they refuse to take any responsibility or accommodate. This is truly OUTRAGEOUS!

Top food. Very good selection on the menu. We had something from the wok and curry. Very good. Service also very friendly. Ambiance is more like a snack bar, unfortunately with a lot of plastic dishes.

Ondanks dat wij telefonisch gereserveerd hadden voor 18.45 uur werd er bij aankomst gezegd dat we om 19.15 uur klaar moesten zijn! We stonden wel in het reserveringsboek en na een discussie mochten we plaats nemen in de wachtruimte naast de ingang. Direct naast de ingang waren nog 2 tafels vrij. Wij mochten daar niet zitten aangezien wij met z'n tweeën waren en dit voor 4 personen bedoeld was zoals ons verteld werd. Tot onze grote verbazing werden deze tafels na 1 a 2 minuten toegewezen aan jawel....2 personen die niet gereserveerd hadden! Wij komen al jaren tot volle tevredenheid bij DeliBird en zijn deze behandeling niet gewend! De curry Pha Naeng nemen wij daar regelmatig (1 pepertje). Deze was deze keer echt extreem scherp en is normaal gesproken echt heerlijk. Toen er gevraagd werd of het gesmaakt had, en mijn zus zei dat het zo erg scherp was, ze waarschijnlijk uitgeschoten waren met de pepers, werd er niet eens geluisterd en ook niet gereageerd! Een ongeïnteresseerde dame, die we daar voorheen trouwens nooit gezien hebben. Het eten is er normaal gesproken echt top. Als er nog een volgende keer komt, dan maar afhalen.... Helaas.
