Very unhygienic. It seems to me that if you work in the hospitality industry, hygiene is super important. With them, it was nowhere to be found. This time I even saw it! No gloves. At least wash your hands before you touch someone else's sandwich. That wasn't the case either. No, I saw a lady take a piece of ham, put pickles in it, roll it up, and put it straight into her mouth. After that, she didn't wash her hands! YUCK!! Super gross. How can you work for people like that? Absolutely no shame! Never again for me here. The atmosphere is super unwelcoming, but that isn't very important to me. I find hygiene very important when it comes to food!

Nice place to grab a bite to eat and/or drink

We were here on Tuesday, August 25th, but had a very bad experience. We had to wait a very long time for our food and drinks. There was a woman at the sandwich counter who was shouting at her staff and just being rude, while the two ladies on the floor were very busy with the guests. Incidentally, these two ladies were very customer-friendly, and one of them even came to apologize for the wait. Otherwise, it is not recommended to go there. The bread was very hard and burnt, even though you pay top price.

Our go-to place when visiting the Zuidplein shopping center. Everything there is delicious and the staff is very friendly and hospitable.

Very quiet on Friday evening, but the service was polite and friendly, and the food was good.

We walked in and were told they were about to close. It was 1:30. They were supposed to close at 2:30... no staff. I ordered a toasted sandwich. I got a small bread roll with some ham and cheese, and that was it! Home looks cozier. I didn't feel at ease there. I was there a while ago too, and it was pleasantly busy then, and the food was really great.

To start with, we walked in and you could already tell that the atmosphere was very sparse. We ordered a smoothie and a tuna sandwich. The smoothie apparently came from a bottle from Albert Heijn and was poured into another smaller bottle, for which you then pay €5.75, and the sandwich was very hard. Normally the price of the sandwich is €6.50, and now she paid €10 for a slice of cheese, some lettuce, and a cucumber. I thought it was quite a shame.

I have eaten here several times with friends and the food was always fine. Unfortunately, today was different. My roll was rock hard; it literally hurt my teeth and I couldn't eat it. When I asked if it could be put on a different roll, they made a fuss about it. Eventually, I was told that this was the “softest bread” they had, even though I have eaten the same roll here many times without this problem. I ended up taking only two bites and still had to pay the full amount. 20.- in total for something I didn't eat!! When I politely mentioned this at the cashier, they argued with me instead of looking for a solution. No apologies, no understanding, and not a single form of customer friendliness. Very disappointing. I will not be coming back here.

Unfortunately, a very disappointing experience. Upon entering, it took about 10 minutes before anyone even noticed us, while there were several employees present who were mostly on their phones. When an employee finally appeared, they said with a laugh that they “just came back from a break.” What struck us most was the way the staff spoke to each other. We literally heard the remark: “Clean up your damn mess.” When we looked up at that, they said: “Yes, we are from Rotterdam.” That came across as very unprofessional to us and did not create a pleasant atmosphere. Additionally, our order went wrong: I had ordered a sandwich without ham, but received one with ham instead. For a bill of about €40, you expect better service, more attention to the order, and a more professional atmosphere. Unfortunately, we will not be returning here.

I ordered lunch here for an event 4 days in a row. The food was ready every day at the time of pickup. The staff served me quickly and the food was also very tasty. Definitely recommended!

Baguette 9 euros, filling almost invisible!! If you charge a bit more for a sandwich, put plenty of filling on it. It used to be different in the past.

We both had onion soup (which was clearly from a packet, salty, very thick and stringy due to the grated cheese); the taste itself was okay. The carpaccio sandwich, however, was very tasty. The service was very good, super friendly and fast.

Went for lunch here again yesterday with a friend. It was super tasty again and always fresh. And very friendly staff. Would definitely go back again.

Waited more than 45 minutes for a carpaccio sandwich; it was highly recommended, said the waitress. Meh, certainly not special for 14.50. They couldn't serve suzhaf with the coffee, though I saw later that other customers could. This was a one-time thing, but neveroooooooo again.

What a wonderful place! The pastries are fresh and made with care, and the cappuccino was absolutely perfect – creamy and just the right temperature. What makes it truly special for me is the warm atmosphere and the incredibly friendly staff. You immediately feel welcome here, which is something you don't find everywhere these days. A truly unique place where quality and coziness come together. I'll definitely be back! ☕🥪

Allergens clearly aren't listed, and a simple question about whether a product contains lactose is met with the response: "I'm really not going to check all that, it's too much work." During coffee, an elderly woman behind the counter wipes down the counter with a dishcloth, then, without washing her hands, transfers the apple pie slices to another plate with her bare hands and covers them with plastic wrap. There are simple ways to make your business look better.

We went here before going to the Toppers Christmas concert. We had delicious sandwiches, and the staff was friendly. Eight of us sat comfortably in a quieter corner. The sandwiches and salads were well-stocked.

Formerly DeliFrance, why change the name? 🤔 The girl who served us was friendly and did her best. A lady who I think had been working there for a long time took a piece of bread from the shelf and dipped it into a salad under the counter and put it in her mouth, which I saw her do a few times, which was a bit strange.

Been there before, five stars. On all counts. This time it was mediocre. The service was, above all, not very fast. We ordered drinks and had one food preference. Two of the three drinks arrived. Apparently, there was a problem with the tap. It was mentioned. In the meantime, there was absolutely no cheating. The first course was served. No mention of the drink yet. But they did take care of the other courses. I mentioned that if that drink doesn't work out, I'll get something else. Eventually, the other courses were served. (They were fine.) Then, when the food was almost finished, the message came that that one drink wasn't going to work out. So I ordered something else, and it was delivered quickly. Unfortunately, we were apparently at the end of the service. The staff was busy closing up. There was a lot of sighing, groaning, complaining, yapping, and moaning. As mentioned, our previous experience was much better, but unfortunately not this time. The food was good, but the rest, unfortunately, wasn't. Therefore, the review has been updated.

I ordered a chicken fillet sandwich, and for €8.25 you expect something decent. Instead, I received a plain baguette with cold slices of chicken fillet from the supermarket, without butter, sauce, lettuce, tomato, or anything that makes the sandwich even remotely interesting. It was as if someone simply opened a packet of chicken fillet and put it on the bread. On top of that, I had to wait 20 minutes for this result. For this price and wait time, it is really severely disappointing. Not recommended.

I ordered sandwiches with my children. The children received their drinks. Then, my drink was supposed to arrive with my breakfast. I received someone else's breakfast/order first. After sending it back, it turned out our order hadn't been made yet. In the end, we received everything. I still had to ask for my drink, and I didn't get the milk I'd ordered with my breakfast. They wanted to refill the coffee that came with it. I eventually gave up to avoid asking again. It happens, of course, but a lot went wrong at that point. The food was good, and the staff was very friendly.

Busy, basic sandwiches, toilets busy and not fresh

Poor service. Super slow to take orders even though the place was half empty.

This seems like a nice place, but unfortunately, it turned out to be lacking in a positive atmosphere. The waitress seemed disinterested and apparently couldn't hear or understand us well. She also didn't know if they had gluten-free rolls. We'd already asked a slightly older woman at the counter, who kindly confirmed it. We ordered drinks, a regular club sandwich, and one on a gluten-free roll. I wish I'd ordered a gluten-free roll too🫣. That one looked even better, and it was indeed a roll. The regular one consisted of 1.5 pita breads😱, see photos. Fried chicken breast...don't think so. Cold chicken breast with a topping🤔. Nice and warm fried bacon...don't think so. Cold curly bacon, two pieces, that tasted like...nothing, really😝. No cucumber, no egg... Drama. And all that for "only" €1. 12.95 per pita sandwich, uhh?! When we went to pay, another lady didn't even look at us😱. Luckily, the only friendly lady came and let us pay. That's the only reason to give this place 2 stars for service. What a disservice.

Went here for lunch yesterday, but that was the first and last time. Half a baguette with chicken fillet for €13 is already on the expensive side, but then also a hair in the food? 🤢 No thanks! I gave the lady a sign and she stayed behind the counter, I thought do I have to shout through the store that there is a hair in the food.. no way. I don't think so.. ok then she came to collect the plate — great. But then a young girl appeared with an attitude that makes you lose your appetite. Her message? "We can't take it off the bill, but you do get a drink." Excuse me?! So my daughter-in-law drinks a drink for €13? Are they really 100% there? When I indicated that I didn't agree with that, the girl turned around and just walked away in the middle of the conversation — piqued, arrogant, as if we were the difficult customers. 🤯 They eventually took the dish off the bill, because no: I'm not going to pay for something I literally don't dare sink my teeth into thanks to their poor hygiene. An apology wasn't really in it, let alone service with a smile. Tip to the business: teach your staff to take complaints seriously instead of snarling away. Because this was truly outrageous.

Today we went there for lunch with friends, everything has become very expensive for less, tuna salad sandwich €8.75, plus egg it is €1.25 extra, so €10 for a tuna salad sandwich with egg!!!?? then it turns out there is a hair in the food, and then they expect us to pay for the food that had a hair in it. Well, it can't get any crazier. I refused that and they didn't like that, but we didn't pay for that sandwich. Their preference was you have to pay for it but you do get a free drink, well I couldn't believe my ears. Bad service. The ones who give good service there are that light brown woman and that Dutch woman. For me, this is also the last time I go there.

We have been coming here for so long and it is still a regular stop when we are at Zuidplein. Good food, nice service.

Not really special, it took 2 drinks before we had our sandwich. So a very long wait. Sandwiches were fine but not really special.

Everything comes from the microwave chicken fillet completely dry with a very small amount of dried out satay sauce!! Tomato soup from the freezer and completely cold You paid a lot and it was just TRASH!!!

It was the first and last time we ate here!!! We ordered 1 cappuccino, 1 mint tea, 1 ham/cheese sandwich and a gluten-free cheese sandwich. We had to pay more than 25 euros! For gluten free sandwich 7 euros for the cheese 1 slice and 3 euros for the sandwich!!! This was not reported in advance that the room costs 10 euros! I asked if the bill was correct, the lady from the store told me yes, it is correct, so I said 7 euros for 1 slice of cheese and three euros for that simple sandwich?? Yes, she said, prices are skyrocketing, we can't do anything about that, I don't understand why customers spend that money anymore? I then said that you can tell us in advance that that sandwich alone is so expensive instead of the 7 euros that you simply have to pay for the sandwich on the menu! Coffee per cup over 4 euros!! What bad service! Once but never again!!!

Today at 12:00 noon we had a delicious meal with a friend of mine. Greeted kindly upon entry. Once at the table, I was quickly helped by a very sweet Surinamese lady. Very polite. The young man and lady in red, on the sandwiches, also make all those sandwiches at a fast pace. They are very pleasant with a light-hearted joke here and there. Enjoyment in the work is visible. We had a really perfect carpaccio sandwich and a fillet of truffle. A lot of! But well filled. Really the best coffee in Zuidplein. We will definitely come back again.

Lovely spot and delicious sandwiches and salads. Coffee is great. I often also take ginger tea. Delicious freshly made with a slice of orange. The service is very good. Friendly and attentive. Great atmosphere.

Kind employees, but a but pricey and using the wc as a non-customer is 1 euro.

Today I ate a complete lunch twice for 12.50 We had half a pot of onion soup which was warm but not hot. A tiny bowl of egg salad and a piece of pistolet or baguette. We are both in our eighties with not that big of an appetite. We thought it was poor. We did receive a 10% discount when we communicated this at checkout. We are used to better things at other Deli Cafés. We walked further onto Zuidplein. And we had a croquette sandwich at La Boca.

My lunch was more an open sandwich but was well presented and tasted nice and fresh.

Compared to a few months ago much better, only advice: make sure the tables are clean for the next guest. Very important.

If you are willing to pay €6 for a glass of juice that comes out of a bottle that's bought at AH for €3. Then you might like this place. The food was decent just a bit overpriced

Just had a delicious brunch with my sister and aunt, everything was delivered quickly and tasted really delicious. Cappuccino and fresh orange juice are also highly recommended!

Sandwiches too expensive and deadly simple for the amount. Ask for Coke Zero, get Pepsi Max, had reported this, the taste of Pepsi is not for everyone. Received the drink in a warm glass, I think it just came out of the dishwasher Staff more concerned with each other than with customers. And they screamed all over the place because they were having fun. Nice brochure of frozen cappuccino, after ordering, once delivered it was a standard glass with a simple but tasty ice coffee, but nothing like the picture.

A young lady with red hair, with a ponytail, barely scolds the staff next to customers. Makes fun of colleagues and the ladies don't dare to do anything, madam. I think it's terrible.

Came here to eat for the second time today. Also the second time that the woman with red hair who works here is once again extremely ugly to her colleagues. Customers can literally enjoy the shouting and swearing. Even when it was indicated that the food was not that tasty, nothing was said or done. All that came out was an “oh”. In short... terrible tent!

Ging lunchen met vriendin . Wij eten en drinken besteld . Ik zie dat de mevr de broodjes maakt met blote handen en tussen door de kassa doet en tot overmaat van ramp haar vinger aflikt . En niet 1x maar 3 x . Broodjes afbesteld . Meisjes in bediening waren vriendelijk .

Even lekker gelunched, helaas waren ze de saus op het broodje vergeten maar dit werd gelukkig snel opgelost. Vriendelijke bediening!

Wat een vriendelijk personeel hebben ze hier zeg. Ik heb er daarnaast heerlijk gegeten en een lekker bakkie pleur gedronken. Het broodje Carpaccio is een echte aanrader. Je ziet niet vaak dat er pesto op zit maar dit pakt erg goed uit!

Niet echt hygiënisch bezig. Met een vaatdoekje alles afdoen en daarna gelijk broodjes klaarmaken😱. Zonder de handen te wassen. Dit geldt ook bij het afrekenen geld aanpakken en weer door met broodjes maken.

Tosti was maar een klein baguette voor 6 ,50 plat gedrukt broodje met plakje kaas&ham waar je erna nog steeds het gevoel hebt dat je niks hebt gegeten. Te duur voor wat je krijgt.. koffie is wel lekker. Maar voor eten komen we hier niet terug.

Vandaag gegeten bij DELI-Café Zuidplein. Ik werd vriendelijk gegroet en er kwam al snel iemand bij mij aan tafel. Meisje vertelde wel dat ze nieuw was, dus alles nog even moest zoeken. Heerlijk broodje carpaccio besteld. Ik heb ongeveer 5/6 minuten zitten wachten. Prima te doen. Broodje was heerlijk! Eenmaal bij de kassa afgerekend en is er mij een fijne dag gewenst. Voor mij een prima ervaring. Overal is personeel te kort en hier is dat wel te merken. Nieuw personeel moet gewoon even inkomen, maar ze worden goed behandeld bij de al ervaren medewerkers.

Super lief en goed geholpen. Vriendelijk personeel en het eten was heerlijk. Snelle bediening!

Iedere keer als ik op Zuidplein kom ga ik daar zeker 2 à 3x iets eten of drinken. Top service en kwaliteit! En de mensen zijn er allemaal heel erg vriendelijk. Een echte aanrader!
