We had a delicious meal on our wedding day and they even took our daughter's preferences into account.

We ended up here by chance with nine friends. The service was very friendly and good. The food arrived fairly quickly, but not too quickly, allowing us to chat. The food was good, but a bit too fancy for our standards. I had the spareribs, which were delicious. There weren't enough vegetables for me. Then I had the dame blanche, which was also delicious.

This evening, our family of four (two children aged 5 and 2) dined at Den Hespel. What a wonderful experience! The service and atmosphere were excellent and welcoming; it was quiet and comfortable, with a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant is tastefully decorated with an eye for detail, and the service was impeccable. And I haven't even mentioned the food yet, which was truly excellent! For the kids, we had one frikandel (Dutch sausage) and one chicken nuggets. These were beautifully presented, with a salad and applesauce for a small price. We had the mixed grill with a sauce. The meat was delicious and freshly prepared, and it was topped off with several small side dishes. Truly delicious! The sauce was also fresh and flavorful. We enjoyed every bite, as well as the delicious red wine. Thank you for a wonderful evening; if we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely be back!

Our visit was on a weekday afternoon. The terrace was pleasant, overlooking a fairly nearby main road. But it wasn't distracting; it was a relaxed atmosphere. The service was very friendly, the beer was inexpensive, and our snack was very good.

We spontaneously visited on a Monday evening. After a quick consultation with the chef, we were able to seat four people outside. Despite the language barrier, the service was very friendly and attentive. The food was great for everyone and truly delicious. It was a great value for money.

We went here for lunch with two people. When ordering, I clearly indicated my allergy to nuts and pine nuts. When my food arrived, it was covered in pine nuts. I returned the dish and again explained that I couldn't have pine nuts. I also asked to please remake the dish, not just remove the pine nuts because of the traces. I waited a while, and my husband had already finished his meal, when my food arrived again. And again, there were pine nuts. I returned it again. When I received my food for the third time, there were apparently no pine nuts. By then, I was almost afraid to eat. And rightly so, because I found pine nuts in my food again. It's a good thing I was so careful; this could have ended very badly for me. My husband's food was good and tasty, so no complaints there. However, this isn't the place for people with allergies. One mistake is fine, but three is crazy.

Super tasty spare ribs + the burger; the meat melts like butter off the bone, and the delicious burgers are melt-in-the-mouth. Great place with great food and very friendly and hard-working staff.

Had a great meal in this atmospheric restaurant. The meat of the hamburger was really tender and tasty and the rest of the hamburger was also delicious. The dessert was also tasty, but was also very beautifully and tastefully presented. Service very friendly. Definitely everything to your liking! Recommended!

We had ordered lunch for lunch (around 1330, so not even early). 1 x tuna melt and 1 x tosti / small tomato soup. After 45 minutes the lunch arrived, which we thought was quite a long wait, especially considering the simple preparation of our dishes. Quality was very mediocre: bread baked hard, topping minimal. Too bad, because the evening dinners are perfectly arranged here.

Great place, had a total of 6 drinks, only 2 drinks were included in the bill, we indicated that we had consumed 2 more Hertogjan Weizener and 2 Ammaretto. Total €30.80. In our opinion the total was €26.20 unfortunately they did not agree, so you see, if you are honest, you are still punished for your honesty!! This was a terrace with a bitter aftertaste.... Enjoyed high tea, savory part was tasty but not special: egg salad sandwich, smoked salmon sandwich, piece of quiche...not really special. Sweet part came straight from the supermarket, luxury cookies...nothing more. Very friendly and attentive service, but high tea not recommended.

Delicious lunch. Friendly service. You can partly compose the 12 o'clock yourself. Nice idea. And especially delicious because you just choose what you like best. Ongeveer anderhalve week geleden ben ik met familie bij Den Hespel geweest. De volgende dag kreeg de halve groep plotseling een heftige voedselvergiftiging. Een 90-plusser verloor kort het bewustzijn en werd op de keukenvloer weer wakker. Ambulancepersoneel, dat voor een ander familielid werd gebeld, gaf aan dat het overduidelijk om voedselvergiftiging ging. Het enige moment dat wij als familie samen waren en hebben gegeten, was tijdens die twee uur bij Den Hespel. Toch weigert het restaurant alle verantwoordelijkheid en schuift de schuld af op een virus, ondanks de mening van experts die dit tegenspreken. Ik schrik van dit totale gebrek aan verantwoordelijkheidsgevoel. Waanzinnig.

Nadat we 2 dagen na onze high tea hier te hebben genuttigd de eigenaar op de hoogte brachten van het feit dat alle 4 mensen van ons gezelschap na het eten van carpaccio getroffen waren door een heftige voedselvergiftiging , werd deze melding binnen een half uurtje beantwoord en weggewimpeld met het antwoord dat er een griepepidemie heerst en dat het niet om voedselvergiftiging kan gaan. Zonder ons verder naar details te hebben gevraagd. Ook werd er niet aangegeven dat een en ander intern onderzocht zou gaan worden. Zeer vreemde en ondoordachte reactie van de eigenaar Bas. Hierdoor voelen we ons niet serieus genomen en is er geen enkele blijk van verantwoordelijkheid richting klanten . Na reeds meerdere malen hier te zijn geweest, zien ze ons nu nooit meer terug ...bah

If you have to wait longer than cycling, that quickly puts a dampener on you, so we will look further. Very sad if it's so disappointing.

Went out for dinner with 4 people, my wife, the neighbors and I. Food was tasty, could have been a little more. It was a summer day, while we were eating we happened to be sitting in a cool place with a lot of wind, which was a shame. Although it affected the atmosphere somewhat, we had a good time together. The staff did their best. I thought the price was a bit on the high side. I will definitely come back, but for a drink after a walk in the woods, located just across the busy road.

Als trouwe klant zijn we vandaag 26 Maart zeer teleurgesteld in de Hespel waar we altijd zo graag heen gingen. Ontvangen door een chagrijnige serveerster die steeds niet te bekennen was. Als we wat wilden bij bestellen. Wij bestelden een kaas ,worst plank waarvan de jonge kaas dik onder de schimmel zat. Na onze reclame werd de jonge kaas vervangen door oude kaas we hadden nu i.p.v. jonge ,komijnen en oude kaas nu alleen komijn en oudekaas. Bij het afrekenen vielen de snoepjes op de vloer maar kregen ze toch zo weer aangeboden. Bij het afscheid geen groet want ze was weer verdwenen. Helaas geen aanrader meer!!!

De plaats van het restaurant bied zeer veel potentie. Helaas maken ze dat niet waar. Na een flinke wandeling kun je beter naar het gemoedelijke Jacobushoeve gaan. De bediening is niet perse onaardig maar vriendelijkheid is ver te zoeken. Wat ze serveren is pretentieus maar maakt het niet waar. De ambiance is al met al wat karig. Karig is het sleutelwoord.
