We had a delicious meal; there was nothing wrong with it. Closing time is 10:00 PM, but at 9:00 PM we were the last ones still there and got the feeling we were being ushered out. That was a bit of a letdown.

This establishment is situated on the edge of the forest. With a lovely terrace and a cozy interior, it is a great place to spend time. In the past (a long, long time ago 😉), there used to be a playground next door. The food is good, the price is slightly higher than average but still reasonable. The food is also really delicious. It is a nice concept at lunch where you can combine dishes. And the service is very friendly.

We come here quite regularly, but today we enjoyed a Mother's Day Brunch with the whole family. Upon arrival, we were offered a glass of cava, followed by a delicious asparagus soup, and finally, we were served a large platter with many types of sandwiches. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Drinks were brought quickly. There is always a wonderful atmosphere at Den Hespel. It is also nice that our sweet little dogs are always welcome. There was also someone in our party who is disabled and uses a wheelchair. This was not a problem at all either.

We had a delicious Mother's Day lunch at Den Hespel. The asparagus soup was especially delicious. It's nice that everything is already arranged and that you are fully taken care of.

What a fantastic asparagus theme evening. First, we visited an asparagus field and received an explanation about the cultivation. Afterwards, we enjoyed a delicious meal of various asparagus dishes in the restaurant. Compliments to the chef and the staff; it was absolutely top-notch.

We hadn't eaten at Den Hespel for a while, but today three of us went to enjoy the 7-course asparagus menu, including a look at Farmer Peeters' asparagus fields. A complete evening out. On the recommendation of someone in the Facebook group "walking with your dog," I walked in the off-leash area and then had lunch here. There are bowls of water for your dog, and it was lovely on the terrace in the spring sunshine. The sandwiches were tasty with a crispy crust. The salmon, beetroot hummus, tomato soup, deviled eggs, cheesecake, and apple pie were all to my liking.

We ended up here by chance with nine friends. The service was very friendly and good. The food arrived fairly quickly, but not too quickly, allowing us to chat. This evening, our family of four (two children aged 5 and 2) dined at Den Hespel. What a wonderful experience! The service and atmosphere were excellent and welcoming; it was quiet and comfortable, with a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant is tastefully decorated with an eye for detail, and the service was impeccable. And I haven't even mentioned the food yet, which was truly excellent! For the kids, we had one frikandel (Dutch sausage) and one chicken nuggets. These were beautifully presented, with a salad and applesauce for a small price. We had the mixed grill with a sauce. The meat was delicious and freshly prepared, and it was topped off with several small side dishes. Truly delicious! The sauce was also fresh and flavorful. We enjoyed every bite, as well as the delicious red wine. Thank you for a wonderful evening; if we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely be back!

We spontaneously visited on a Monday evening. After a quick consultation with the chef, we were able to seat four people outside. Despite the language barrier, the service was very friendly and attentive. The food was great for everyone and truly delicious. It was a great value for money.

Super tasty spare ribs + the burger; the meat melts like butter off the bone, and the delicious burgers are melt-in-the-mouth. Great place with great food and very friendly and hard-working staff.

We went here for lunch with two people. When ordering, I clearly indicated my allergy to nuts and pine nuts. When my food arrived, it was covered in pine nuts. I returned the dish and again explained that I couldn't have pine nuts. I also asked to please remake the dish, not just remove the pine nuts because of the traces. I waited a while, and my husband had already finished his meal, when my food arrived again. And again, there were pine nuts. I returned it again. When I received my food for the third time, there were apparently no pine nuts. By then, I was almost afraid to eat. And rightly so, because I found pine nuts in my food again. It's a good thing I was so careful; this could have ended very badly for me. My husband's food was good and tasty, so no complaints there. However, this isn't the place for people with allergies. One mistake is fine, but three is crazy.

Had a great meal in this atmospheric restaurant. The meat of the hamburger was really tender and tasty and the rest of the hamburger was also delicious. The dessert was also tasty, but was also very beautifully and tastefully presented. Service very friendly. Definitely everything to your liking! Recommended!

We had ordered lunch for lunch (around 1330, so not even early). 1 x tuna melt and 1 x tosti / small tomato soup. After 45 minutes the lunch arrived, which we thought was quite a long wait, especially considering the simple preparation of our dishes. Quality was very mediocre: bread baked hard, topping minimal. Too bad, because the evening dinners are perfectly arranged here.

Great place, had a total of 6 drinks, only 2 drinks were included in the bill, we indicated that we had consumed 2 more Hertogjan Weizener and 2 Ammaretto. Total €30.80. In our opinion the total was €26.20 unfortunately they did not agree, so you see, if you are honest, you are still punished for your honesty!! This was a terrace with a bitter aftertaste.... Enjoyed high tea, savory part was tasty but not special: egg salad sandwich, smoked salmon sandwich, piece of quiche...not really special. Sweet part came straight from the supermarket, luxury cookies...nothing more. Very friendly and attentive service, but high tea not recommended.

Delicious lunch. Friendly service. You can partly compose the 12 o'clock yourself. Nice idea. And especially delicious because you just choose what you like best. And that corn bread is also so tasty. And not unimportant (I think)... Coca-Cola nice and cold. In a glass bottle. And with a glass with ice cubes. Completely fine. Recommended.

One of the female employees with a Citroen (C3 older model) could use a refresher driving exam, driving unnecessarily on the left, overtaking on an expulsion plane to still push through, then I'll leave Dr for it and not even a thank you, immediately put on the gas and leave, she thought.

We enjoyed the terrace on a beautiful day. Pleasant staff. We had a mocktail; gin & tonic. That was not recommended. It doesn't taste like gin or tonic. To ranja. They unfortunately used pink gin. The bitterballen were okay.

Ongeveer anderhalve week geleden ben ik met familie bij Den Hespel geweest. De volgende dag kreeg de halve groep plotseling een heftige voedselvergiftiging. Een 90-plusser verloor kort het bewustzijn en werd op de keukenvloer weer wakker. Ambulancepersoneel, dat voor een ander familielid werd gebeld, gaf aan dat het overduidelijk om voedselvergiftiging ging. Het enige moment dat wij als familie samen waren en hebben gegeten, was tijdens die twee uur bij Den Hespel. Toch weigert het restaurant alle verantwoordelijkheid en schuift de schuld af op een virus, ondanks de mening van experts die dit tegenspreken. Ik schrik van dit totale gebrek aan verantwoordelijkheidsgevoel. Waanzinnig.

Nadat we 2 dagen na onze high tea hier te hebben genuttigd de eigenaar op de hoogte brachten van het feit dat alle 4 mensen van ons gezelschap na het eten van carpaccio getroffen waren door een heftige voedselvergiftiging , werd deze melding binnen een half uurtje beantwoord en weggewimpeld met het antwoord dat er een griepepidemie heerst en dat het niet om voedselvergiftiging kan gaan. Zonder ons verder naar details te hebben gevraagd. Ook werd er niet aangegeven dat een en ander intern onderzocht zou gaan worden. Zeer vreemde en ondoordachte reactie van de eigenaar Bas. Hierdoor voelen we ons niet serieus genomen en is er geen enkele blijk van verantwoordelijkheid richting klanten . Na reeds meerdere malen hier te zijn geweest, zien ze ons nu nooit meer terug ...bah

We used the restaurant for a meeting, the personel was very friendly and very attent for serving and asking if you needed something. The parking was free and there were plenty of spaces, the interior and exterior of the restaurant was very clean and appealing.
