Had delicious gyozas and dumplings!

The food was nothing special. I wouldn’t say it was bad, but i was expecting some great flavor. It just wasn’t there.

The fried dumplings were delicious. However, we waited a long time (about 30 minutes) and it wasn't that busy.

Overpriced and rather mediocre food.

Absolutely terrible ripped soup dumplings. 1/3 were ripped.. that’s €4 down the drain at €2 a dumpling…

I’m pretty new to dumplings, only had a few orders in the past. The presentation was good on the mixed platter for two. Price is really fare and the food was delicious. The guy behind the counter was helpful and courteous. Enjoyed a cold N.A. Beer from the bar right across the way.

Ordering experience is quite bad! The website is buggy, being only option to place an order (which doesn’t seem the smartest thing to do). Payments fail and yet it says that the order has been placed. A few cards errored without any details. The worst ordering experience I had ever.

Awful dumplings. Quite a long wait time. Do not go there.

Dumplings are just frozen and steamed - not handmade or anything special. As such, overpriced for frozen dumplings. Taste was fine but you can just make this at home.

The Foodhallen is a great place to eat and drink, pretty and the atmosphere is great. Maybe that justifies the high prices but the quality of the food should be better. Nothing exceptional for dumplings...

The Food was okay, we ordered steamy and fried Siu Mai. I can’t recommend the fried ones… the steamy ones were good

Again, we’ve had food from various outlets here at Food Hallen and these were the BEST PORK DUMPLINGS AND DUCK GYOZA we have ever had! Literal bliss!!

Food was mediocre at best but the service is arrogant and rude. I stood at the counter waiting for anyone to take my order but I get ignored for no reason while it wasn't busy at all. To the point that i thought about walking away. When I order I asked for take away. The girl gave me a very foul look as if I asked something ridiculous and communicated to me about the buzzer as if i was a small annoying child. On top of that I had to wait 25 min for 6 dumplings.... when you're at the hallen it's better to go order someplace else.

Ordered chicken, tasted like pork. Then you wonder if it's all still good... a bubbling stomach just after eating 1 piece. I wouldn't recommend it… The price €8.75 for 4 pieces is also quite expensive.

Ordered the Shanghai Dumplings. Also seconding that there are no flavors of the bok choy or ginger due to it sounding like it's ground up. Very mediocre.

Such a weird experience. Ordered the chicken gyoza & custard baos. Food was average. The cashier however was super rude because I asked to have my order switched to take-away. His facial reaction to my simple request was like I asked something audacious. So when I called him out on it, he said he was upset because “now they had to throw away the small paper plate”. Okay, I should have asked for takeaway up front, but I can’t remember the last time a business was so openly rude. He then continued to mock the situation saying that “the customer is king”. I feel sorry for his co-workers who seem nice and have to work with someone this embarrassing.

Very average dumplings for a high price. You can get much better elsewhere for a fair price

Disappointing Expensive for steamed defrosted sum

Tasty but I ordered steamed dumplings with pork and bok choy. There wasn’t any bok choy inside. I asked and was told it was ground up I the meat. Ummm... doubtful. No green at all and the consistency was all meat. Disappointed.

Very slow. Peking duck and siomai taste great.

We got the dim sum plate for 2. Nice variety - and cooked fresh to order. The bao seems like there is too much bread and not enoighr filling. The rest of the dim sum were tasty.

The shu mai was very good. I also was very surprised by the texture of the scallion pancakes. The chili and sweetness drizzle on top was very delicious. The least impressive thing sadly was the pork bun, but it's ok. I enjoyed the food overall!

Unfortunately, the dim sum was overpriced and not particularly good. The staff was unfriendly and had no interest in good service.

The price may seem expensive, but the dish is worth it in my opinion. The choice of toppings is varied 👍

Wonderful location— Dim Sum Thing is only one great restaurant in a hall of many others. My boyfriend and I enjoyed the platter for two, but we do wish it came with a little bit more: it ended up being about 6 different pieces each. Price seemed fair enough, although they had increased significantly compared to past pictures of the menu that we looked at.

The worst dumpling i’ve ever eaten. Obviously i couldn’t finish - this is going to the trash, sadly!

If you are looking for high quality Asian food I do not recommend. Dry and over cooked.

The food is very tasty and you feel it's made with quality ingredients. The waiting time is usually less than 10 minutes which is good too. However it is a bit pricey and the bill can increase pretty quickly

This place is selling frozen food. Had the dry dumplings and dry peking duck today. Really disappointing :(

We ordered gyoza and dumplings, but we didn't find them particularly tasty. The gyoza left a strange aftertaste. After we ate the two things, our stomachs didn't feel particularly well. For 6 pieces each the price is pretty outrageous. I've definitely eaten better ones.

Got the shrimp steamed dumplings and they had a horrible fishy taste and smell. When I told the person there about this, he gave us so much unexpected attitude and was extremely hostile. I guess he knows they taste horrible

Its a Dim Sum Ting 👌🏾 Located at @foodhallen Straight off the bat, customer service was dope. Check my @amsterdam highlight for videos. So, what to eat, hmm... It all just looked so delicious! So clearly this needed planning with my wife. We got a dim sum platter for 2, a mixture of steamed, fried and gyozas including dessert. Dim Sum Thing📍Amsterdam Food rating: 4.5 Service: 5 Venue: Food court, plenty of seats available Recommend: Dim Sum Platter Avg price for two: €17 Overall: 4.6 out of 5⭐️ Halal: No Other: There are veg/ seafood options What we ordered: •Steamed Ha Kau filled with shrimp, bamboo, oh man, these were sick lol, softness with good texture and very well seasoned! Veggie dumplings had great flavour too! So far out of the platter, steamed was our favourite. •Fried Shrimp Won Ton dumplings, crispy, light and great for dipping! Loved it! Curry triangle pastries, with soft vegetables in spices, why wouldn’t you like this?! Sui kau dumplings filled with shrimp and bamboo, damn bruh lol delicious! •Gyozas Were yummy - shrimp, veg and chinese mushrooms, the pastry was nice and flakey with good flavour. •Dessert A piece of heave, sweet sesame balls made from rice flour dough and filled with red bean paste. Only ordered the steamed Har gow. Skin is too thick and the ratio of skin to prawns is too high. Similar to frozen har gow Maybe deep dried is better since the skin is thick.

Chicken dim sum is great, gyoza and Bund are good too. Bun a little better last time, but that shouldn't spoil the taste experience. Recommended in the Hallen

Greatest man as real estate manager and owner tyytt is the one that has been the best for the past decade or more but I don’t know

The restaurant is located in the Foodhallen in Amsterdam. It is a nice atmosphere with a wide choice of various dishes. Highly recommended for Dim Sum lovers. It was quite busy and we had to wait a while for our order. It tasted delicious!

This place! The food is truly World class: Sesame balls lightly fried and piping hot (almost never to be as fresh); bbq buns with soft slightly bursting and delicious meat; Shanghai dumplings that are small with the juice not pooled but within the tender center; Peking duck/cukes/Hoisin drizzles and thin rice pancakes! Do Not miss this unobtrusive place in the Foodhallen. So sad cannot take back to the US. Friendly and helpful staff with some panache and artistry in the product! Truly Wonderful. (From a Chinese American perspective). Scallion pancakes are thin and drizzled with Hoisin: Wow…. Go….!

I would highly recommend the sweet sesame dumplings.

Snelle bediening, goede kwaliteit eten. Heb vooral genoten van de bbq chicken buns. Ideaal voor snelle bite en daarna naar de filmhallen!

I went there on a rainy day and the atmosphere was very cozy. First thing I noticed was the dim sum stand and I ordered the duck gyozas which were delicious!

Got my order wrong and when I went to enquire about it was promptly told I was wrong in a very condescending way. I told the gentleman at the till I know what I ordered and I know what words came out of my mouth. His colleagues were much nicer so I felt sorry for them that he has let them down with his rudeness and service. I’m of Cantonese heritage and have eaten dim sum all over the world. This is average at best.

Wir hatten den Platter für 2 und es war alles sehr lecker um frisch. Mein Favorit waren die Gyoca. Ich bin oft in Asien unterwegs und die hier können locker mithalten.

One of the most disappointing things I’ve eaten in a while. Thought the menu looked good, prices were expensive but that’s what you get for a trendy food market. Had to wait 20 minutes for 4 dumplings & 4 gyozas so I was expecting good things and really wanted to enjoy my food. It was just really poor, prawns were very ‘fishy’ and overcooked. Dumplings were okay but just not very good, what I would expect frozen from the supermarket. For €20 I was expecting much better things. I looked at the reviews after and seems I wasn’t the only one! Wouldn’t recommend.

Graving the food options in the Foodhallen, we enjoyed dim sum here on consecutive evenings, sampling several of the menu options including shrimp shumai, potstickers, pork buns and the vegetarian option. The three of us, including the picky vegetarian in our group, were all satisfied and would look forward to returning again.

I read the reviews on Trip Advisor about this place and was not disappointed. GREAT Dim Sum. I would highly recommend it. So many choices of other foods as well. The service was friendly and very quick.

Samen met mijn vriendin lekker gegeten bij Dim Sum Thing in de Foodhallen Amsterdam. Genoten van de locatie en het heerlijke eten. Doordat de Foodhallen binnen erg knus was aangekleed konden we een gezellig plekje opzoeken. De service van het personeel was goed en we konden zien en proeven dat ons eten met veel zorg en liefde was gemaakt.

Lekkere dumplings vooral de happy hakau, shanghai dumplings! De Lotus Flowerbomb is mijn favoriet. Ik ben zelf niet vegetarisch maar de vega opties zijn ook lekker.

Wij hadden de dim sum platter voor twee personen en een portie sweet sesame balls. Het was vers en erg lekker, smaakvol en divers. Het was wel een beetje aan de drukke kant waardoor zitten niet erg gemakkelijk is, maar dat hoort er een beetje bij

After I read the reviews for Foodhallen, I thought there would be more vegan options. Regardless, I was relieved to see that Dim Sum Thing had a veggie option. I asked if the dumplings were vegan, and after some asking around, they said yes, so I ordered the steamed veggie dumplings with soy sauce on the side. The outside of the dumplings was as soft as a cloud. On the inside, they had great textures. The flavor was okay. I thought the price was a bit high for 4 dumplings. If I were in the area, I might give them another try. Also, I found the name and decor to be cute and clever.
