One Dim Sum in Vondelbuurt

The food was excellent. Delicious dim sum, pancakes, and Singapore noodles. Even though we had so much to choose from, we still ate everything because it was so delicious. Very friendly staff. Good explanations and service. Very nice people. In short, definitely worth 5 stars.

We went here on September 27th. We didn't have a reservation, but we arrived early enough before it was due to arrive and were still able to get a table. The dim sum was truly amazing!!! The dim sum was just a bit larger than what I'm used to from the supermarket.

Very good dim sum. The highlight was the har gao which is my test for a dim sum restaurant. Shrimp pieces were large so that the filling retains the texture of shrimp. I don’t trust restaurants that use finely minced filling that suggest scraps have been used. The chicken siu mai was good too. Not rubbery and overcooked as siu mai sometimes can be. Stuffed aubergine was deep fried rather than the pan fried cantonese version I am used to. I am always happy to see dim wrapped in tofu skins on a menu, as these are unusual. However the steamed parcels with carrot, chicken and shitake were disappointingly bland. I am more accustomed to the fried tofu skins rolls. I was sorry to see too late that my favourite xiao long bao (broth filled Shanghai dumplings) were offered. They were hidden in the steamed bun section instead of the steamed dumpling section of the menu. Atmosphere is modern and airy. On a Friday at lunchtime most of the clientele were Asian ladies who lunch. There was light jazz playing, accompanied by the sound of giggling, well dressed ladies.

We had delicious dim sum here. A friendly young man served us and explained the concept. You can order small or large portions. Everything is fresh and of excellent quality. I'd love to come back.

Friendly staff, the food was served fresh and quickly. However be mindful it’s a restaurant with an open kitchen, so your clothes/ hair might end up smelling like food after dining.

The place to go in Amsterdam for dimsum. If you like to combine it with other types of Chinese this may not be the best, but for dimsum there are many great options. Service is kind and quick. Not too fancy, but nice atmosphere.

We had delicious dim sum. The soup dumplings, coconut dumplings, Singapore radish cake, and needle rice sticks. Delicious! Also incredibly hospitable 😇

Very good, and everything is perfectly prepared. The fried crab balls are divine; even someone who doesn't like fish loves them. There's an incredible variety of dumplings and small dishes. Some of them took some getting used to for us ;), but they're still well prepared and delicious. You have to try it; highly recommended.

I love the dim sum here and go there often. The lotus leaf wrapped rice dumplings, shumai and cheese balls are also delicious!

It's a small restaurant with first rate service. The portions are very generous and the dim sum freshly prepared and delicious. We (all 3 of us) had a wonderful, surprisingly filling lunch! Highly recommended!

Food was disappointing. Not sure why I thought the dim-sum/dumplings would be fresh but they weren’t. Probably just bulk bought frozen and heated. Service was okay - nothing wrong - forgot an order but nothing poor. Atmosphere was okay.

We often go to eat dim sum in Amsterdam and today we tried One Dim Sum. We are enthusiastic! The dim sums we ordered were all very tasty. Only the fried squid could have had a little less salt and a little more flavor. The staff is very friendly, you really feel welcome. The restaurant is neat and clean. We will definitely come back here.

Service was great, food was definitely frozen and heated up. Got a stomach ache after. Not the waiters fault or anything, but you could tell that the food was all store bought and just heated. Tasted the same as when I buy cheap frozen food at a grocery store and heat it in a microwave. It was not necessarily bad, but if I am paying this much at a restaurant I would like the food to be fresh, otherwise I can make it myself.

I didn’t pay too much attention to the atmosphere but it was nice and clean. I went with my sister and mom. Food was wonderful. Everything was hot and tasty. We had 8 different dishes. The custard bun was excellent.

We ate well. Out of hours, around 3 pm, but attentive service and food made with passion. Enough range of dim sum, but also other meal vouchers. A welcoming place where I would gladly return.

We found this true Cantonese dim sum restaurant during our Christmas visit to Amsterdam. The space was not big,,,,However, the Food was really really good. Service and location were both good, too. (It's near the museum area.)

As a Cantonese, this is definitely the best Cantonese morning tea I have ever had in Europe! What you can eat is fresh and handmade, don't eat those frozen products anymore. This is truly the best surprise for me a few days before the new year!

Authentic Cantonese cuisine restaurant, with high quality ingredients. You order by filling out a sheet that is provided at the table, indicating the desired dishes. I highly recommend the dumplings, generously filled, and the meat bao, truly delicious

The food is all handmade at home, and it is still a very special experience for Taiwanese people who often eat Hong Kong snacks. It is a taste that can be eaten often. Personally, I highly recommend the carrot cake and rice rolls. The powder paste is delicious and a rare taste!

It was my first time here and I was very surprised by the quality of the food the taste of the food and the way it’s being served and prepared. Basically, you choose from small to big dishes and you can estimate the portions yourself. What really requires appreciation is the authentic taste of every dish something that is really rare to find so highly recommend visiting and trying soups! 😜

Average quality way overpriced for what you get, the pork fried dumplings didn’t taste like pork tasted like stuffed with bread.

Located on Overtoom, this restaurant provides a quiet, pleasant atmosphere. Though the space is small, I recommend making a reservation. The food is both delicious and reasonably priced, and the staff is warm and efficient, particularly quick in clearing dishes. I’ve had lunch here twice, and the food was so amazing, I couldn’t even pause to take pictures!

Very good food, the outer skin of the shrimp dumpling was a little too thick for taste, but the fried items were 10/10. Recommend the fried eggplant and turnip cake.

The enviroment is clearly a non traditional chinese restaurant. I assume they just took the old place and just polish it. They could easily fit more tables in but did not to create a more relax and more upper class environment. I will recommend to book a table as it is not a big restaurant. They serve all day dim sum dishes but still have some limited selection on a more full size dishes. Staff is very friendly not your chinese restaurant (if you come or not I do not mind). The prices are very fair especially in this area, the quality is also there but it is slightly adjust to the prices in size of the portion and the ingredients but still above average. I will say if they blow up to a more traditional sized with a more extent menu it will really help to attract chinese audience. Quality of the tea is not that great below average. Overall not sure for a basic meal (not too full) I needed like 5 dim sum dishes that is around 30 euro. I will recommend western people to try this place out to have a base knowlege of the quality in chinese dim sum cuisine. 4/10 Good: service, prices, environment Do better: size of menu, ingredients

This family run dim sum specialist should be considered a hidden gem. Tucked away just a few hundred meters from the hustle and bustle of Leidseplein and PC hooft straat. Amsterdam has a lot of great Chinese restaurants. With dimsum there are some really good big players around. But this small nice family run dim specialist ranks right up there. Unlike the other restaurants they serve mainly dim sum and hardly serve any main courses. So don’t expect roast duck or cha sieuw dishes. As far as I know they only have noodles/kue tiau or vegetables as main dish. All other are dim sum. Recently we noticed that they had further upgraded their game. Adding a menu filled with pictures. So now even newbies knows what they are ordering even if they have only know what it looks like and never know the actually names. Their menu is very extensive and has all the dim sum favorites.My favorite dishes here are the cheaugfan,rice rolls. These are very soft without losing its structure or becoming lumpy. Just the way I like them. Also their rettich cake is really good. Especially in XO sauce or Singaporean style. Other dim sum staples are very good too. Does not disappoint. Just use your eyes to choose your dish. Make sure t]when you order to mix between fried, baked and steamed dim sum. It’s not perfect though. Because they unfortunately don’t serve a self brewed Chinese ice tea. But even in a hot day…a pot of hot jasmine tea is a perfect accompaniment for a dim sum lunch. But the best part is actually its price. By far the most affordable dim sum place in Amsterdam. Dim sum in amsterdam is really expensive. 40/50€ per person is the norm in the big restaurants. But here it’s still around 30/35€. This place seems to be always available for walk in. While most big sum places in amsterdam are always full and need to make reservations especially during lunch hours. So that’s why I consider this affordable family run dim sum specialist a hidden gem. Still to be safe in future…call to reserve your seats.

Food is very very good and very authentic, can tell as a Hong Konger. Chef is from Hong Kong too. Many restaurant closed around 830pm and we are lucky their kitchen open till 9pm, saved our night. If visit Amsterdam again, will definitely come to have dim sum!

There are many dim sum choices, the food is of high quality and the service attitude is good. My favorite is the Mala Cake, which is neither greasy nor oily, and the Carrot Cake, which has a strong carrot flavor. Good food.

This place is AMAZING. I don't much care for Amsterdam, but I would hop on a train for two hours just to eat here again. The food was so delicious, I ordered a lot cause I was really hungry in the afternoon (hadn't had any food since I woke up), and the waitress asked if I was sure about it cause it was a lot, which felt like an indirect compliment lol, but I went with it anyway and I managed to finish everything. They also give you a whole pot of Jasmine tea, which tasted great and I managed to drink in its entirety, to stay hydrated. I had a nice view of the outside, my table was cosy, and, again, that FOOD. Get the small portion of rice, the bao and the plain buns (they give you condensed milk :) ). Everything is delicious, but I think about those specifically at least once a week!

Lovely dim sum place! I went by myself and had a cosy seat near the bar. A condensed menu they got for dim sum, you could find most of the popular dim sum tho. Average Ams price most of the dishes are ~ 7 euros. Some of the dim sum are really delicious and since I’m a Chinese so you can take my word. The restaurant is not very big so I think it’d be better to book in advanced. Located in a more residential area so more local vibes here which I like a lot. Will come back.

Without doubt the very best dim sum restaurant in Amsterdam. I've travelled all the way from Rotterdam to prove it and it's worth the trip! All items are freshly made using the best and freshest ingredients. The restaurant is small and reservation is highly recommended. Oh, another star for the friendliest service. I'll be back!!
