Ugh, I totally regret going to that restaurant on New Year's Eve. They treated me like I was some freeloading relative or something. Anyway, we got there, and they had this weird system no one explained, but whatever, we figured it out. We asked for forks.... I mean, who doesn't love a good fork? but they never came. The waiters would stop at the table right before ours and completely ignore us, never asking if we needed anything or if everything was alright. Nothing. We asked for water, and that never showed up either. Finally, when I asked for the bill, the amazing waiter actually rolled his eyes at me before coming over. I asked him if the food was free because of how we were treated. I told him how I felt, and he didn't even bother to fake an apology or anything. I've never felt so uncomfortable in a restaurant. I just wanted to leave. The food was good, but you can't enjoy it when you feel so unwelcome. I noticed all evening that other customers were treated so nicely, but not us. Is race the problem here?

Organized Chinese food restaurant

Great Dim Sum restaurant! We came at about 7pm without a reservation, and the restaurant helped us make a reservation at 8pm. Full Moon Garden is big, and the atmosphere is bustling and nice. The waiters are extremely friendly, and we had a great time talking to them. They can speak Cantonese and Mandarin too. The food is served in an extremely large portion, which is value for money. Tastes great.

Discrimination! Despite being a Chinese restaurant with Asian staff, the attitude towards Chinese and foreigners is completely different. I wonder what the cultural background is of the male waiter who can't speak Mandarin or Cantonese. I hope your restaurant can effectively improve its service.

The food was delicious as usual and the service was amazing as usual as well. We came all the way from Utrecht to Amsterdam by train just for the delicious dim sum. They have the best dim sum in the Netherlands. And the waiter and waitress were very friendly and helpful.

We are a long time customer. We refer this place to many friends. We also ordered deliveries. But yesterday we walked in, a Dutch speaking Chinese young lady has looked dow on us like we didn't desrve to walk in. She didn't offer table, with a furious and discriminating tone that we are causing her trouble. I didn't know there's such horrible way of saying 'sorry we fully booked'. This place needs a therapist and proper education.

Had been to full moon garden a lot of time in the last five years, and I see the whole process the food quality drops. The Asian waitress inside is the rudest people and most racist one that you can experience with. We walked in yesterday and refused to be sit while there are several empty tables. It is Saturday night, you want reservation, I understand. You are not the only place is crowed we but you are the worst. The waitress started to shout at us in Chinese!! And she asked me to check her booking system. Then, she spoke to another manager like woman, in Dutch, and ask her to handle us in Chinese again, seems that we don’t deserve communicating with them. It is unbelievable. The so-called your guest with a reservation is not even showing up. And the second woman asks if I was asking her to call them and ask them not to come. Full of crap. Treat other people with more respect please. Maybe you feel yourself so witty, so integrated into this new country already, what you are doing basically shows a very negative but a true example why this society don’t treat you back with respect and you ended in a 3 tier restaurant. Funny enough. Never come here again.

Does being alone mean you're not a customer? They said they wanted to dine in, but even though there were seats available, they wouldn't give them one, while a foreigner next to them could sit there and enjoy his meal. Do they discriminate against their own people when they're abroad? The takeout pork porridge was so small, it was worlds apart from the dine-in version.

When they ask me for any drink. I tell him cold water. They charge me 6 euro for 0.7 L. Expensive. For tea. I ask for pu er. They give me jasmine. I think for 1person is 3.6. Just ask him give me 1 more cup. They charge me 3.6x 2 =7.2. For water and tea over 12 euro. Very ridiculous. I wish them refund some money for me Very sad.

We visit Full Moon Garden often. Our favourite place in Amsterdam for Dim sum. Philip (Cheng) always makes my wife and I feel very welcome and even remembers our specific orders! This is my favorite Cantonese restaurant in Amsterdam but the service is soooo poor. They must know they treat Asian people differently and still do it on purpose. It’s a shame.

I’ve been a very loyal customer of Full Moon for weeks, frequently ordering their (very pricey) Matcha Bubble Tea through Thuisbezorgd. Despite my loyalty, they consistently send drinks that are only about 70% full (yet I pay full price?). I’ve requested refunds multiple times, but kept giving them another chance. Today was the final straw. Before my order even arrived, I called the restaurant to kindly ask if they could please fill my Bubble Tea to the top, since every previous order was disappointing. They assured me it would be done. Yet when the drink arrived, it was once again noticeably underfilled. When I called back, hoping for a simple solution, the staff member on the phone was extremely rude and dismissive. Instead of listening, he spoke to me with hostility, insisted the drink had been filled to the top, and practically accused me of lying, even after I said I had photos proving otherwise. He made zero effort to resolve the issue, didn’t ask for the photos, and treated me as though I was some kind of nuisance, even though this was the first time I ever called them directly. His attitude was extremely unprofessional, disrespectful, and genuinely shocking. As a paying customer - one who has supported them repeatedly - I was appalled by how little they cared about making things right. After this experience, I will never order from them again. No customer should be spoken to in that tone or treated with such indifference. Full Moon needs to understand that this kind of service is unacceptable, and furthermore needs to reassess the quality of staff they choose to employ.

Walked by this place for years so thought to finally try it. First, price to value is poor. You're paying double, yet it is the same quality and portion size as Albina. Second, ordered two main dishes both served cold. FAIL! There's no excuse for this. Spent €100 for one person and the lesson learned is to never eat here again. Avoid like the plague.

I fully subscribed to the comments above. We were mislead by a translation error in the menu and ordered the dish we didn’t want. We explained the issue to a server, he had zero patience to understand the issue and blame us for the mistake. We therefore talked to the manager, he was kind enough to take back the dish. However, when we were ready to pay at the counter, that server just inserted the amount with that retuned dish. We tried to explain to him, he first said that amount included a replacement plate which there were no replacement at all. He then said again JUST PAY YOUR MISTAKE. That wasn’t our out mistake so we have to ask the manager to intervene again. In the end we paid the correct amount without that plate, but that was a very unpleasant dining experience.

A delicious and cozy little restaurant in the center of Amsterdam (it's a bit hidden because it's upstairs). The staff is all super friendly. If you make a reservation, make sure you get a window seat so you can look down on the shopping streets while you eat. Legend 1) Terrible! I don't recommend it, I'll never come back! 2) Too bad, below my expectations, I won't be back. 3) Okay, nothing wrong with it, but nothing special, nice for a one-time visit. 4) Excellent, worth coming back. 5) Excellent! Restaurant with authentic Cantonese dim sum and other dishes. I always come here when friends visit Amsterdam.

The menu had a translation problem for 湿炒鸭肉河粉(Wet-style duck Ho Fun), resulting in us receiving a dish we didn't expect. • The Owner/Boss was very kind and handled the situation professionally, allowing us to return the dish. • However, another staff member was incredibly rude and insisted that we should pay for the 'mistake,' claiming it was ours despite the obvious menu translation confusion. He was disrespectful, unwilling to acknowledge the issue, and continued his rude remarks even as we were paying. The lack of empathy and the unprofessional behavior of this staff member means we will not be visiting this establishment again. A key part of service is putting yourself in the guest's shoes, it is okay he didn’t read Chinese but he never tried to understand why this happened, so this staff member failed completely. Btw we suggest the restaurant to change the menu for future issues.

We were laughed at when we asked for still water/a carafe because apparently they don't sell "tap water," but the bottle they brought us looked exactly like it. We asked the waiter for advice on what to order, he sighed and didn't know what to say. In the end, we left without ordering anything except a bottle of water for… 6 EUROS. What a shame, it looked good!

Terrible experience. Foreign matter was found in the food, which is absolutely intolerable! The manager explained to me that it was left over from the kitchen using steel wool to clean. But I think the quality of the food itself should be paid attention to, and it's not enough to just tell us the reason. Secondly, the service staff were very unprofessional. While serving water, they spilled two large cups of water on us and our bags (fortunately it wasn't hot water).

WE GAVE UP ON EATING, PAID, AND LEFT!! Terrible, the wait time was ridiculous. It took 30 minutes just for the appetizers and then they simply forgot about us. They delivered the rice after 45 minutes and it got cold because the food wasn't arriving; one dish only arrived when we got up from the table!!! It's not worth returning to this place! It's agonizing because they avoid eye contact. While we were paying the bill, they simply said (sorry, I was busy). When we arrived at 7:10 PM, there were only 3 tables left. We sat down around 6:15/8 PM. At 5:15 PM we received the fried rice. Ridiculous how they couldn't bring the food in an acceptable time, but they came in 2 minutes with the card machine when they saw us get up!! Terrible!!!

The food is delicious, the service is good, but the service rarely smiles and is often stressed. I'm a frequent visitor to this restaurant. It's a shame the service is like this. It's a tourist street, maybe they don't really welcome regular customers here, or what?

As soon as we arrived, we were greeted very rudely by the staff. The food was plentiful and okay. However, i ordered a glass of pepsi which was the smallest little splash and it costed €4! definitely been ripped off!! In addition we ordered a glass of tap water and on the bill it was €6, which we thought was ridiculous. It was definitely pricey but the food was okay for the asian diner.

I am sure there are people that really enjoy the food here, but none of what we ordered was good, sadly. The dumplings with chicken seemed off, the soup was not great and even a simple dish as egg fried rice with chicken was below par. We did not finish any of it despite being hungry.

This is a restaurant we have been ordering food from for years, but their operations obviously took a downward spiral, which is a shame. This time we met a friend there who was visiting NL for a conference, it was our 2nd visit with him and he was really looking forward to it due to a good experience the previous time. We ordered his favourite, kung pao chicken, which came saturated in some type of tongue burning chemical - like a really strong lemon concentrate (but no chilli pepper) to the point that it felt unsafe to eat (we all sampled it). We didn't wanna spoil the evening for our friend so we just immediately ordered other mains and asked these to be packed to go, in reality we threw them out as soon as we left the restaurant. The other mains and appetizers,, desert was ok so we managed to have a decent meal. As of kung pao chicken, the cook obviously made some type of a blunder but decided to serve it instead of throwing it away, they are probably pressured not to waste anything. A lot of other signs of cut costing - the truffle dumpling had virtually no truffle on it, but some other, ordinary shaved brown mushroom, our soft drinks were repeatedly served directly in a glass and no bottles were presented (they probably use 2l plastic bottles to save costs), they forgot part of our desert and we had to follow up, the sink in the toilet was clogged and dirty and the water was shut off for hand washing. We think the staff understood very well what was going on but pretended not to and we didn't insist as we wanted to focus on the short time we had with our friend. We obviously won't be coming back, with friends nor ordering food for ourselves, the experience felt subpar, cost cutting, and down right unsafe at moments. Hopefully they get their operations back in order eventually but we want be the ones experimenting again.

We were a party of four with a last minute walk in and we were graciously accepted. The service was spectacular, and our waiters were professional while bringing humor to the environment. We tried a spread of dim sum; the shumai and the beef chow mein were hits.

Rice rolls were thin but soy sauce can be improved to make it properly fitting. Egg tarts lacked filling. Corn soup was good.

The food portions are generous and very tasty. The ambiance is pleasant, and the staff are attentive and friendly. My personal favorites are the beef stir-fry with mushrooms, the hor fun (especially with a bit of chili—delicious!), the mango bingsu, and the taro bubble tea.

Had dinner here after a flight on our first night. The server of our dishes made the night. Kim? Im not sure how his name is spelt, was a awesome. Real fun and the food was great. The turnip cake almost melts in your mouth. Would return to try the other dishes!

Very authentic Cantonese cuisine with generous portions and fair pricing.

The food was delicious. The service was surprisingly good and efficient even though we walked in at 9:45pm when they close at 10:30pm. We ordered sui mai, soup dumplings, ham soi gok, tripe, garlic gai lan and stir fried turnip cakes in xo sauce. The dim sum was comparable to Vancouver, Calgary and San Francisco Chinatowns.

We've been coming to Full Moon Garden in Amsterdam for years, and it's always a treat. My partner and I have eaten there quite a few times now, and the food is always excellent. The flavors are fresh, perfectly balanced, and you can just tell they really put a lot of love into their cooking. What makes it all the more special is the service. It's not only friendly but also very personal. They remember you, stop by for a chat, and immediately make you feel welcome. It feels a bit like you're dining with friends, but friends who are excellent cooks. In short: Full Moon Garden is a firm favorite in Amsterdam for us. If you're looking for delicious food and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, this is highly recommended.

This was a pleasant surprise!!! A friend was in town and was told that this place is amzaing. And they were not wrong!!!! The location scared me because how closet it is to a bunch of tourist traps 😅. But the inside is beautiful and the food and service were fantastic!!!

The Yangzhou fried rice was too hard to eat, the steamed spareribs were tasteless and full of fat, the xiaolongbao had thick and hard skin and no soup inside. I had eaten it in The Hague before and it was quite delicious, but I was really disappointed.

We went here today for my dad's birthday, and as always, it was a wonderful experience! We often come to this restaurant because of the high quality of the food—and this time it was excellent again. What made it extra special: during a brief chat, we mentioned that it was my dad's birthday, and not long after, a beautiful crème brûlée with ice cream and fireworks arrived at our table! They even sang for him, and he received a gift from the restaurant. Such a sweet and thoughtful gesture made our day complete. You feel truly welcome here. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates good food and hospitality!

This Dim Sum place has everything thats whats most original in a Cantonese cuisine! Its located near Leidseplein and its open till late! Very delicious taste and textures and definitely dont forget to order the egg tarts because those are really divine! You have to be quick they are a hot selling item there!

Best service I've ever had! I've been coming here for years and it's always fun. The food is fantastic, and the soup balls are highly recommended! And the homemade iced tea is delicious. Top-notch restaurant.

Delicious food! Everything was deliciously authentic and not too salty or anything. They also have delicious refreshing cocktails. The staff was very friendly; came by more often to ask if everything was to our liking and if we wanted more drinks, but it didn't feel pushy. The food also arrived quickly which was nice!

Went to this restaurant twice during our visit to Amsterdam. It is a nice Cantonese restaurant on the second floor. They offer a large selection of different meat and vegetarian dishes. We sampled chicken, duck, beef, lamb, tofu and a few vegetarian dishes. All came in very generous portion. Service was good with attentive waiters/waitresses. Spacious seatings with good ambiance. Would recommend if you are looking for Chinese cuisine.

Went for dinner and didn't get far past the door. The lady down smoking near the entrance said that dim sum was finished and that they close at 11pm so not to come in - it was 10.05pm

I found this place by chance as you wouldn’t stumble upon it. The service was nice and the staff were very attentive to us. The restaurant is nicely decelerated and has a good bathroom. I had the dim sum lunch special which had the dim sum platter, fried rice, and a drink. It was €16,50 which was a great price. All the food was very tasty. I absolutely reckoned coming here.
