Authentic Cantonese cuisine in Amsterdam! The food is prepared super fast and tastes great!

Been here a few times now (at the restaurant, so not for take out or ordering in) and I very much like it. Staff's always busy, but at the same time fast, friendly and helpful. Besides their meat and seafood options, there's plenty of great and tasty food for vegans (or vegetarians) to choose from too. Dietary preferences and allergy information are clearly marked on the menu. So pretty ideal when you're with a mixed group of people. For me it's my favourite go-to before going to a gig at Melkweg or Paradiso.

Food was really good, only the prices were on the higher side. They have the best service of all restaurants! Will come back for sure

There is a male colleague named Philliph who limps a bit and wears glasses, but he is very fast and always very customer-friendly. He gave us good advice and sang a nice birthday song for us. We appreciate it very much; we had a delicious meal and enjoyed ourselves immensely... definitely worth repeating and that man really deserves a raise!!!! Even during his break, he cleared the table for us.

Was told many times Cantonese food is good in the Netherlands, today's visit to this Full Moon Garden confirms it. Comparable to Hong Kong but still lags behind Sydney and Vancouver. Nonetheless, amongst the best in Europe.

Absolutely fantastic! The whole experience was incredible! The dim sum mix was great, the wonton soup revived my soul, and the seitan with broccoli was to die for. We left in a food coma. A must go place if you like good food and great ambience! We'll must definitely visit again!

During lunch, we enjoyed delicious dim sum at Full Moon Garden. The xiaolongbao were juicy and full of flavor, the chicken siu mai perfectly steamed, and the cheung fan wonderfully tender. The crispy beef noodles were also excellently prepared, with tender beef and a delicious bite. SUPER friendly service, neat ambiance, and authentic Cantonese dishes. Absolutely recommended for lovers of dim sum and Cantonese cuisine!

We had a superbe lunch with Chinese tea, as customary refered to as ‘Yum cha’ literal meaning ‘drinking tea’ accompanied bij tidbits called ‘dim sum’ or dots on your soul! That delicious. As in ancient times when travelers stop by at roadside inns. We also savoured traditional roast Peking duck with mini pancakes.

Had a delicious meal. The service is fast and the staff is very friendly. The prices are reasonable for today's standards. Big plus: you can simply pay with American Express (Amex) here! I pop in here often for their delicious Sui Kau soup, oysters, and chicken legs. Do keep in mind, however, that parking is difficult and climbing the stairs is quite a workout beforehand.

The service is very good but there are some employees who are rude and always grumble in their language and I understand what they say, but it is balanced with other employees who are very friendly, full of smiles and ready to help. All the food is delicious. I am a regular there and I always recommend this restaurant to my friends.

When it is busy, the food is of low quality, which I am not used to from this location. You are better off coming on a quiet day; then the food is great!

Its located near Leidseplein and its open till late! Very delicious taste and textures and definitely dont forget to order the egg tarts because those are really divine! Truly abnormally antisocial staff. An employee threw a stick at my girlfriend's head in a fit of rage. NOT normal! Another employee was standing next to the man and couldn't say anything or help. The spring rolls were tasty though.

What an amazing experience at Fullmoon Restaurant! I am truly impressed by the food. The crispy belly was bursting with flavor – perfectly seasoned and deliciously crunchy. The braised lamb stew was something I had never tasted before, but the flavor will definitely stay with me for a long time. And then the white chicken legs… honestly, I didn't expect them to be *that* tasty, especially in combination with the sauce. A real surprise favorite! Additionally, the staff is super friendly and incredibly hospitable, which makes the whole experience even better. I can't wait for the next “full moon” already ☺️

When we asked if we had ordered enough (we were two people) we didn't get a proper answer - only that we could order more later. But it was clear that it was way too much. The portions were bigger than you thought, which isn't necessarily bad, but it didn't taste great either - dry meat and it tasted like it had just been heated up. Not a great experience. It ended up being very expensive

If you are looking for an authentic and high-end Dim Sum experience in Amsterdam, Full Moon Garden is the absolute place to be. I am giving it a full 5-star rating across the board because they simply nailed every aspect of the meal. ​The food was spectacular; the dumplings were delicate, flavorful, and served piping hot. You can taste the authenticity in every bite. The service was impeccable—the staff was incredibly well-coordinated and attentive, ensuring our table was always taken care of. To top it off, the atmosphere is elegant and vibrant, providing the perfect backdrop for a great feast with friends or family. It is easily one of the best spots in the city for Chinese cuisine. A must-visit!

Been coming here for a long time. Today, despite having a reservation we were asked to sit by the banging door and was not accommodated to change our spot. People coming way after us without reservation were seated to much nicer places. The lady on the counter treated us as if we are tourists. We are not, we are locals and used to be lover of your food. It is not an acceptable behavior to the tourists let alone to the locals. Will never visit again.

I would give more than 5 stars if I could. The moment I entered and heard Cantonese, I knew it's gonna be a legit dim sum place. The food truly touched my heart.

Great food! We sat in the small dining room near the kitchen; the staff didn't come by very often to take orders. There was some soft Chinese music in the restaurant, but it wasn't there most of the time. The lack of music was a shame.

I have been coming to Full Moon Garden for years. The team is incredibly thoughtful and attentive. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food and a truly personal touch.

I have only ever ordered takeaway from here. Once a few years ago and then today. The food is very expensive and not tasty at all. I ordered the salt and pepper prawns and what turned up was mush and bland (this was around 30-35 euros) and then then mixed meat was (ribs and duck), bland and greasy. Everything was just greasy and bland and mushy. Total waste of money!

My family and I went into the restaurant for dinner, and one of the waitresses looked at us from behind, very angry and irritated, and asked what we wanted with a frown face, clearly said I'd never want to eat there because of the terrible service. I asked if she had a table for three, and she replied very rudely that she didn't. So I would never recommend this place; that's no way to treat customers.

We ordered a three-piece roast meat platter, but the char siu was entirely made of fat and inedible. When we complained to the staff, he just replied, "Not every pig is the same," and brushed us off. I suggest everyone ask the staff how fatty the pork is before ordering char siu. 😅

Over rated. I expected more. There seems to be not enough filling in a lot of the dumplings. They use small prawns instead of big nice ones or put one instead of two or three. Nice service nice tea but if you’re used to authentic dim sum it won’t meet ur expectations

We live near Leidseplein, and how wonderful is it that, more or less hidden above the restaurant with the golden arches and some kind of vape/rubber duck stand, you have such a fantastic Chinese restaurant? The staff is quick and greets you in a way you don't often experience as a local. In short, you immediately feel at home and welcome. The enormous menu is overwhelming for me, but luckily I'm always with someone who spontaneously starts checking off orders for the whole table. As long as the Peking duck and the soft-shell crap are on it, I'm fine with anything. The dim sum are, of course, freshly made, and you can taste it. It's all very tasty and fresh. Everything comes very quickly and is served convincingly by a chef/waiter with a strong North American accent. The other guests are mostly other locals and Asian foodies. In short: delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere! See you soon!

Full Moon is consistently my preferred dim sum establishment in Amsterdam, where I invariably receive exceptional service. The hospitality extended by Meghan and the team has been outstanding. I have frequented the restaurant up to three times a week to savor my preferred dishes. Full Moon remains my top choice. I extend my gratitude to everyone for making each visit a special experience.

WE GAVE UP ON EATING, PAID, AND LEFT!! Terrible, the wait time was ridiculous. It took 30 minutes just for the appetizers and then they simply forgot about us. They delivered the rice after 45 minutes and it got cold because the food wasn't arriving; one dish only arrived when we got up from the table!!! It's not worth returning to this place! It's agonizing because they avoid eye contact. While we were paying the bill, they simply said (sorry, I was busy). When we arrived at 7:10 PM, there were only 3 tables left. We sat down around 6:15/8 PM. At 7:15 PM we received the fried rice. Ridiculous how they couldn't bring the food in an acceptable time, but they came in 2 minutes with the card machine when they saw us get up!! Terrible!!!

Oh how I missed Asia. This place brought me right back. All staff are very friendly and know exactly what they are doing. We ordered a bunch of food to share and it was honestly blissful. The duck was so soft and juicy, yum! My absolute favourite dessert a salted egg custard bun was on the menu and it did not miss! It was DELICIOUS! Love also that it is up the stairs and kind of hidden away, truly a gem!

Ugh, I totally regret going to that restaurant on New Year's Eve. They treated me like I was some freeloading relative or something. Anyway, we got there, and they had this weird system no one explained, but whatever, we figured it out. We asked for forks.... I mean, who doesn't love a good fork? but they never came. The waiters would stop at the table right before ours and completely ignore us, never asking if we needed anything or if everything was alright. Nothing. We asked for water, and that never showed up either. Finally, when I asked for the bill, the amazing waiter actually rolled his eyes at me before coming over. I asked him if the food was free because of how we were treated. I told him how I felt, and he didn't even bother to fake an apology or anything. I've never felt so uncomfortable in a restaurant. I just wanted to leave. The food was good, but you can't enjoy it when you feel so unwelcome. I noticed all evening that other customers were treated so nicely, but not us. Is race the problem here?

Organized Chinese food restaurant

Great Dim Sum restaurant! We came at about 7pm without a reservation, and the restaurant helped us make a reservation at 8pm. Full Moon Garden is big, and the atmosphere is bustling and nice. The waiters are extremely friendly, and we had a great time talking to them. They can speak Cantonese and Mandarin too. The food is served in an extremely large portion, which is value for money. Tastes great.

Discrimination! Despite being a Chinese restaurant with Asian staff, the attitude towards Chinese and foreigners is completely different. I wonder what the cultural background is of the male waiter who can't speak Mandarin or Cantonese. I hope your restaurant can effectively improve its service.

The food was delicious as usual and the service was amazing as usual as well. We came all the way from Utrecht to Amsterdam by train just for the delicious dim sum. They have the best dim sum in the Netherlands. And the waiter and waitress were very friendly and helpful.

Had been to full moon garden a lot of time in the last five years, and I see the whole process the food quality drops. The Asian waitress inside is the rudest people and most racist one that you can experience with. We walked in yesterday and refused to be sit while there are several empty tables. It is Saturday night, you want reservation, I understand. You are not the only place is crowed we but you are the worst. The waitress started to shout at us in Chinese!! And she asked me to check her booking system. Then, she spoke to another manager like woman, in Dutch, and ask her to handle us in Chinese again, seems that we don’t deserve communicating with them. It is unbelievable. The so-called your guest with a reservation is not even showing up. And the second woman asks if I was asking her to call them and ask them not to come. Full of crap. Treat other people with more respect please. Maybe you feel yourself so witty, so integrated into this new country already, what you are doing basically shows a very negative but a true example why this society don’t treat you back with respect and you ended in a 3 tier restaurant. Funny enough. Never come here again.
