Diwali Palace Amersfoort , Nepalese & Indian Restaurant in Wijk 03 Soesterkwartier

Try the butter chicken, delicious!!

Delicious food and nice people, I will definitely come here more often, highly recommended.

A fine dining really meant to be cherished The best impression catering all around customers You will satisfied in all aspects of dining3

Lovely restaurant, chose the Nepalese menu, Thali, all small dishes, choice of mild or spicier as desired, highly recommended, very friendly service. Excellent red and white house wine. We will be back!!

We had a super delicious meal! This was our first visit to this restaurant, and they still had a spot available at the last minute, which was nice. The restaurant was nice and full, and the delivery and takeaway options were busy too. That is always a good sign. We will definitely be back!

Last night we went again to our favorite Indian Restaurant in Amersfoort. Authentic Indian taste in all the food items that we ordered with the correct level of spices as requested. Service is quick and friendly too. Would definitely recommend and return again soon.

We had a really delicious meal. They can make spicy food really spicy, while still keeping it tasty.

Good food, I will definitely come back.

We have ordered a few times already and it was just like old times. Good quality! We always order here. Actually always good. Except on Christmas Day. My son insisted on eating Indian food. This time the noodles weren't tasty. Dry chicken. Better luck next time.

Today we ordered some Indian as this is a tradition for my husband’s birthday but we really didn’t expect this level of quality. The food didn’t taste as good, the rice was just a big blob with no taste, the garlic naan was extremely thick and with 5 sprinkles of garlic on too. I haven’t tried samosas yet but something is telling me they wouldn’t be good either. My question is: why would you want to cook this low quality food? That is your restaurant, you want people to come back and order again, right? Unfortunately we had an utterly spoiled dinner.

I've been coming here for years, but I've actually never written a review. So here it is 😊. What a fantastic restaurant this is! By far the best and most authentic Indian in Amersfoort and far beyond. The food has never disappointed me. So delicious! Whether dining in or with delivery. Super friendly people too. Highly recommended. 😋

Delicious food both in the restaurant and via home delivery. It is delivered reasonably on time, sometimes a little late but not extremely so. The food is nice and hot and very tasty, especially when compared to the competitors. We only order Indian food here now. I don't find the restaurant particularly atmospheric. The location isn't very convenient for parking either. But because the food is good, it is worth the effort to go. Great wine too.

Fantastic! It's like visiting family.

The food was really good, fast service and attentive staff. Located conveniently just outside the train station. I will come back. :)

Always very tasty food for a good price. Regular customer!

Friendly staff, perfect location by the station.

I always get takeout. So I won't venture to judge the atmosphere. Food and service: absolutely good.

Lovely, cozy family restaurant with a fine selection of authentic dishes. Definitely go for the momos with spicy chutney. They taste exactly the same as in Nepal. Extremely friendly service too. Top-notch

Simply superb ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ After a disappointing experience the previous evening at Rozey, Diwali Palace absolutely delighted us! Our menu was vegan, and every dish was incredibly delicious and fantastically seasoned. My Nepalese main course with tofu was a particular highlight. The service was also incredibly friendly and welcoming. A definite recommendation for anyone who prefers good vegan and vegetarian food.

Don't call this chicken soup as Soup. This is liquid form of butter chicken curry. Worst soup I had ever.

Delicious Indian food: tandoori and curries. Most curries are available with chicken, lamb, beef, or as a vegetarian option. There is also a wide selection of vegetarian dishes. Friendly service, dishes served relatively quickly. (Handy if you have a train to catch). Reasonable prices

We had a delicious meal here. Friendly service and good advice on what combinations are. We will definitely be back.

We stayed in Amersfoort and went here for dinner on our last day! The starter and main course were excellent! The service was very friendly and attentive! A beautiful, cozy restaurant with white tablecloths and napkins, and close to Amersfoort train station! In short, highly recommended!!

“Excellent food, friendly staff, and great service. Highly recommend this restaurant!”

I ordered food here tonight and it was delicious! It also arrived well-packaged and completely warm. The portion was just so big that I could easily eat from it for 2 days (but I'm not complaining about that haha).

The food was okay but disappointing for the price. On top of that, they were an hour late with the delivery! I wouldn't order from them a second time.

Food was delicious and very friendly service I love diwali palace. Sooooo goooooooood and authentic flavors

Service and ambience was great but the food was not the best.

Delicious food and very friendly and welcoming service. Will definitely go back If I'm in the area again. Highly recommend!

We ordered take away, the chowmien was tasteless, biryani had broccoli in it and momos were ok.

Good restaurant with delicious food and friendly service with good advice.

Given the good reviews, I ordered from Diwali with high expectations. I have to be honest: it was a huge disappointment. Everything that was supposed to be crispy just really wasn't, and the chicken from the mint chicken tikka was tough. You can even get crispy papadum in the supermarket, so I really don't understand it. What a shame!

The food was delicious! I haven't eaten Indian food very often. But here in Amersfoort, it is definitely highly recommended! Definitely go for the tandoori and butter chicken mix.

First time we ordered take away- the food was great 👍 Second time- we dined in, and ordered different dishes- and it was just amazing 👌 and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Definitely will be back next time 💚

Very authentic Indian food and close to Central Station. The mixed starter was very nice with different spices and seasoning. The chicken Madras I ordered, with garlic cheese naan was also delicious, I just wished I'd gone full in on the heat level. My friends also enjoyed their choices. The only reason im not giving a 5 is because the service was quite slow, despite it not being very busy. Small point and still definitely worth the 4/5. Will be coming again in the future.

Very very very delicious food , so amazing experience , service also very nice friendly people , family restaurant I am so happy with all , I will visit again and again ,

Always delicious food and it's great that they even deliver to Hoevelaken. I order from them several times a year and am always satisfied.

The restaurant's location is convenient, close to the station. From the outside, it doesn't look very inviting, but inside it is cozy and tastefully decorated. You are warmly welcomed and served in a friendly manner. There is a wide selection on the menu. We chose a vegetarian 3-course menu. The food was truly delicious!

Very friendly service; I even got herbs to take home when we were discussing a particular drink. The atmosphere is warm and the food is delicious and authentic Nepalese. Highly recommended!!

Had a delicious meal at Diwali Palace Nepalese & Indian. Friendly staff, not too loud in the restaurant, plenty of seating. Simply top-notch 👍

The online delivery time was supposed to be 40 minutes, but it took 1 hour and 45 minutes. In the meantime, I called the restaurant and got a screaming person on the phone. The food was mediocre: overly sweet sauce with the butter chicken and tough momos. Very disappointing.

Ordered dishes online yesterday. Seasoned well and more than enough. Unfortunately, I ordered a medium (in terms of spiciness) paneer karahi which was extremely spicy for my taste, so spicy that I couldn't eat it. I called and a new, mild version of the dish was delivered very quickly. It was delicious. What top-notch service! Thank you.

Amazing food! Nice ambiance. We had a peaceful family dinner.

We've been waiting for an order for 2 hours and still nothing.

Today I ordered Lamb biryani and Rasmalai ,the lamb biryani was absolutely outstanding. The rice was perfectly cooked—light, fluffy, and beautifully layered with aromatic spices. Each bite carried the warmth of saffron, cardamom, and slow-cooked masala without being overpowering. The lamb itself was incredibly tender, falling apart effortlessly and infused with deep, rich flavor. It tasted like it had been slow-cooked with patience and care, making it both comforting and indulgent. To finish, the rasmalai was pure bliss. Soft, spongy cheese dumplings soaked in chilled, creamy milk syrup—lightly sweet and delicately flavored with cardamom. It was refreshing after the bold spices of the biryani and struck the perfect balance of sweetness without feeling heavy. Truly lekker and satisfying.

The phone call beforehand should have been enough, when the manager (?) was quite ridiculous and extremely unfriendly about gluten-free food and that they don't use gluten on cutting boards at all, meaning they really do almost everything gluten-free. Despite this, I still joined a dinner party. And the disappointment just continued. The papadum was supposedly gluten-free, because the deep fryer was supposedly gluten-free. I had a few small bites, and then it turned out that the deep fryer "is sometimes used for gluten, but the oil is gluten-free." In other words: not gluten-free after all. Mind you: I repeatedly and explicitly asked for this, and then it was all gluten-free. After that, they were nonchalantly (and mockingly) addressed to the rest of the group about gluten-free food and that XYZ was gluten-free, and that "Duh, the cutting board is gluten-free, because what are we doing with gluten on that?" Butter chicken was supposedly gluten-free. I ate some of that, but the taste wasn't good. In my opinion, it was too sweet. Actually, I started having gluten-related complaints quite soon after the papadum. I would definitely not recommend this if you have allergies. Their menu does state that they take allergens very seriously and do everything they can to address them, but their lackadaisical attitude and ignorance clearly suggest otherwise.

Very hospitable and delicious food. There were four of us and we had the Nepalese menu and Biryani dishes. It was delicious and plentiful. We will definitely be back.

Delicious food. Very friendly and helpful staff. Definitely worth a visit again.

An amazing place for people who love nice food with dine in experience. Tried the biryani, butterfly prawns and vegetarian momos. Super love the food and experience. The staff is polite. Highly recommended.

I thought, "I don't feel like cooking, let's go to Diwali Palace." And I wasn't disappointed. I had a delicious garlic chicken tikka tandoori. We also ordered garlic naan and were given papadum with various dips on the house as an appetizer. Even on a snowy Monday evening, there were several diners inside. And besides a napkin, there's also a damp cloth at your place setting. Very handy after dinner. The lady who served us was very nice. Oh yeah, they deliver too. In short, highly recommended!

Delicious food and a very good restaurant. We always order to eat at home. Everything is neatly packaged, and the quality is always consistent: top-notch! Authentic and full of flavor. Ideal if you're vegetarian.

Ordered and paid for food, forgot something, and they refuse to bring it or give money back

We had a delicious Nepalese meal. The service was quick and friendly. We had a separate room for our dog, which we really appreciated. We ordered a thali with a delicious soup starter and three main courses. Both the vegetarian and chicken thali were delicious. However, we missed something sweet to finish the dishes. Any suggestions?

Update. Ordered again from Diwali Palace Amersfoort. This time tikka masala and butter chicken. Chicken was tender. There wasn't much difference between the sauces; one was a bit sweeter than the other. I've had better ones where the sauce was actually made with nuts. I chose a delivery time and it was delivered right on time (even a few minutes early). I'll never give them free rein again, because then it will be really late. If you order through their website, you get a 10% discount. The naan was fine, but the naan with lamb was a bit dark, and the lamb was almost impossible to find. The food was okay. The advantage is that you can choose the spiciness yourself; mild is really not spicy at all, ideal for children or the elderly. I wouldn't order the mixed tandoori Annapurna. ====== Delivery took 95 minutes. The Annapurna mixed tandoori is not at all like the photo or description and is actually 95% chicken. (Grilled lamb chops = 1 chop, seekh kebab = 1, lamb tikka = not present, chicken = 5 pieces), papadum in 1000 pieces, naan burnt, Food itself ok, but just disappointing what you get and how long it takes and does not match the description or photo at all.

Food is fantastic, service as well. Location, just behind trainstation, with limited parking, is not so good. But who cares, focus on food and company and you're good.

Always delicious food and a warm welcome. We've been coming back for years, even though we no longer live in Amersfoort. My in-laws are Hindustani, and they rave about the food here.

The food is good, but I've had to wait far too long several times when picking up or having it delivered. They promise a specific time, and then it suddenly takes an hour longer :(

The guy on bar didn’t allow me to go to the toilet, this is just not normal

I thought this was one of the best Indian restaurants I've been to in a long time. Not necessarily for the atmosphere (which is okay), but the food itself was truly fantastic. And I've eaten Indian food many times, so it was truly excellent.

The food was delicious. The service was excellent. They even gave us a little something extra because we were there for a special occasion.

Delicious food and super friendly staff.

We had a surprisingly delicious meal at a great price. The friendly staff brought our food out on time. Because we were going to a movie later that evening, they were very accommodating. The portions were generous, the food was hot, and very tasty. We'd love to come back.

I placed a small takeaway order on the train. I hopped out of the station and picked up the food. It was incredibly delicious, enjoying the piano playing of an anonymous pianist. A train later, I was back on the road feeling wonderful. I'm very pleased with the taste, portion size, and speed of your service. If it had taken longer, that would have been fine, but this was a wonderful experience. I'll eat here more often when I'm in Amersfoort by train. What a wonderful discovery.

Really great Indian food. I had a chicken starter from the tandoori grill or oven, which is very delicious and a butter chicken. That’s exactly what I expected butter chicken to be. Quick service, which is very much appreciated as a solo guest.

We ate at this restaurant yesterday with a group. We were more than satisfied with the delicious food and the friendly service. Highly recommended, and definitely not expensive.

The food was delicious. Excellent tandoori dishes. At other restaurants, the meat is sometimes too dry, but not here! Perfectly cooked yet juicy. Both the chicken and the lamb. It's a shame we live too far away otherwise we'd come back at least once or twice a month. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

What a fantastic experience!! The service was incredibly friendly. The food was served quickly and was delicious. Highly recommended!

The restaurant was filled with smoke. The staff paid no attention. When we inquired, it turned out the kitchen extractor fan was faulty. We left with respiratory problems and stinging eyes without waiting for dinner.

A restaurant prepared to serve you a delicious meal with a welcome smile. Their purpose is to comfort you with tasty food while you enjoy the time with friends or family.

Yesterday evening I was here with my father, wife and our three sons. We had a fantastic experience. The food was amazing and the staff were very attentive. We highly recommend this place !

The veg. samosa and momo's are very good. Had a mango lassi that was yummy 😋.

The best Indian food you can get within a 100km radius around Amersfoort… The food is fresh, tasty, consistent, and the service always very friendly! Try their mango lassi, it is soooo good!

As I said in to the waiter and owner, best currydish I’ve had in years! A perfect balance between creamy and spicy. Full of flavours. I had the chicken palak/saag and can really recommend it. The peshwari naan was also brilliant. I got my food literally 7 minutes after I arrived at the restaurant. Will definitely recommend this restaurant for everyone that wants a proper curry in Amersfoort. If I ever visit this city again a revisit to this restaurant will be my first priority!! Thank you so much!

If you want authentic Indian food, this is not the place. If you like Dutch curry, that's fine. I ordered a vindaloo, do you know what 'aloo' is? Well, it's potato and my so called vindaloo didn't even have any potato in it. I suggest you change the name to chicken curry and not vindaloo, because you are false advertising. I have also never heard of anyone ordering a hot curry with extra heat and complaining that it was too hot. It also tasted the same as I make at home with the pataks bottle curry paste. The cheese nan bread had little to no cheese.

We waited exactly 2 hours for our food. The waiter kept stalling us by saying, “It’ll be ready in 10 minutes.” After we asked for the manager, we told him that we had been waiting for 2 hours, and he tried to defend himself by saying, “It hasn’t been 2 hours since you arrived.” Truly disappointing.

Food was delicious. Today tasted for a dinner with India goers. I can only say that the food tasted excellent. The atmosphere we have to bring ourselves next time. Highly recommended.

Delicious meal with 5 people Wide choice of delicious scents, also a lot of choice in vegetarian dishes

Very tasty and authentic dishes

Super tasty food, very nice service. Not cheap but worth the money.

Really tasty, lovely ladies in the service, nothing else can be said. We enjoyed the delicious food and the conviviality. Definitely recommended to eat in or take away. It's a shame that we didn't visit earlier, but now it's on our menu to enjoy delicious food and discover new flavors.

Just had dinner at Diwali and boy was that delicious. Besides the food which is top notch, the service was more than excellent! The waitresses and the waiter were so incredibly attentive, thoughtful, caring, and very cheerful. They have a really nice team and they are also enjoying themselves. That is why the atmosphere, the food, and the service were really more than excellent! Will definitely come back!

Excellent authentic Indian food. They even had lime pickle. Quick service. Very friendly staff.

Great food, decor could be a bit more cozy

The garlic chicken tikka is so delicious, and for me very nice because it is not hot

You have to be patient but it was worth the wait. The food actually has taste, for a change! The tikka massala, tandoori, naan and baji were all tasty. We will definitely order here again!

Delicious and affordable food! Come here regularly these days. I actually have a nice experience every time.

We eat here regularly. Excellent fresh food, wide choice and very friendly staff.

“The food was absolutely delicious! Every dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented.”

Very tasty food and friendly service. Also pleasant accessibility. In short, a top restaurant

I order food regularly from Diwali palace. It's one of my favorite restaurants in Amersfoort. Food is amazing.

Nice ambience, good food and service. Really enjoyed the lamb dish

The best Indian food in Amersfoort. Super recommended, especially ordering at home.

Delicious food and very friendly service. Price-quality ratio is very good. Recommended!

Best Indian in the Netherlands as far as I’m concerned

Best Indian food I’ve ever had! YUM.

The service was a bit slow, but when you look at how hospitable and friendly you are received, it is like joining family, the food was delicious!!

One of my favorite Nepalese/Indian restaurants in the Netherlands. I am obsessed with their butter chicken, it's delicious and the portion is huge. Definitely recommend it :)

Very friendly staff, delicious authentic food for a good price. Quick snack after a busy working day :-)

Fantastic food, absolute top service, ambiance could be a little better, but 10/10 for us, we will be back!

Very good food and friendly staff. Atmosphere is also fine. We will definitely come back more often.
