Delicious food; refined taste; friendly service:

A nice Indonesian restaurant offered a high tea for four people on special offer. The layer cake wasn't very fresh, the plantain was greasy and lacked flavor, the corn cake could have been better, the satay udang (ordered separately) wasn't great, and the nasi goring was good. It felt like a lot of it was microwaved. It's a shame, I expected more.

Had high tea there, through Social Deal. It wasn't bad, but not worth the full price either (30 euros normally). The pisang was absolutely awful, the spring roll, corn cake, and lapis were fine, and the spekkoek (spekkoek) was mediocre. I asked for iced tea sparkling twice but got iced tea green both times. I also ordered satay ayam, kambing, and udang, which were fine. The nasi wasn't great.

We ordered the shared menu for 2 people. food tastes really bad! precooked and microwaved! For the awful taste we paid 70 euro

Went there without reservation, luckily we got seat for 5 on Saturday morning. The order process was quite easy, the server came to our table and took our order. The server seems quite knowledgable with the menu. Foods were incredible! Ordered the Es campur durian! And for the love of god, it was heaven! The es teller was mid according to my friend. Then tahoe isi a little bit too sweet and miss that kicking flavor. Bakso malang was also good but again lack umami, maybe they should put more msg. Now the batagor was great in my opinion! Again, would be too sweet for people outside of Java. However tastes great with Javanese who love sweet.

Authentic Indonesian dishes, great decor, family-friendly, and very friendly owners. A bit hard to find. You have to try it once. See you soon 👋

We wanted to order lele but it was out of stock and this wasn't the first time either. I ordered still water from Sourcy water bottle but instead I received still water and had to paid €3 for this. For me the best authentic Indonesian restaurant in The Hague. The taste of the dishes equals the good quality of my Mom's cooking, who I dearly miss. Desi provides an excellent menu and the service is usually nice and attentive. A real recommendation foe D'Javas.

Not authentic indonesia cuisine. Have to pay for extra sambal provided very small portion of sambal, nasi iga bakar is actually a spareribs not original iga bakar . Ayam geprek portion is small and looks like frozen chicken . Es jeruk is actually just an orange juice . Everything is not authentic indonesian cuisine .

Dined in at this Indonesian restaurant on a weekend afternoon as a solo diner. Not too crowded as it was after lunch hour. The ayam peynet dish I had was flavorful and well cooked. The high tea spread that was going on at another table looked delicious too. Pleasant dining atmosphere.

Je loopt er niet direct langs als je toerist in Den Haag bent (nieuwbouwbuurt). Het is dicht bij het station. Interieur gezellig Zeer aardig personeel/eigenaars. Spreken Engels menukaart is erg leuk voor veganist en voor vegetariër. Interessante, lekkere smaken. Als je een 'los gerecht' bestelt heb je gewoon een hele maaltijd excl rijst aanrader: voorgerecht Tahu Isi (bij ons werd het tegelijk met et hoofdgerecht geserveerd, smaakte ook prima samen, beter nog denk ik dan als we het apart hadden gegeten)

Everything went wrong here: the reservation was forgotten, the heating was broken so people were wearing their winter coats and the service was dramatic. There is a guy dreaming something up for himself, you have to ask for everything yourself. Toilets also dirty and even the glasses were rancid. No alcohol

This Indonesian pearl is a bit hidden, but is highly recommended! Very tasty food, friendly service, delicious Es dessert too. Definitely come back again.

Ordered bakso malang and es campur. Both were okay and met my expectations. the taste is authentic, just like what I had back home in Indonesia. The staff were friendly and allowed me to stay longer to finish my food, even though they were closing (because I arrived late).

Really enjoyed D'Javas! Ordered a pempek kepal selam and es teler durian. The es teler is really divine! You could wake me up for it. The pempek kepal selam was also tasty and the sauce was also delicious! It could have been a bit crispier for me, but that's personal taste. I'll definitely come back, I miss it already hahaha

An Indonesian breath of fresh air in every way. Uniquely good.

Wat een verschrikkelijk slechte eettent. Teveel rijst in verhouding met de rest, ik had saté met gado gado; was meer taugé met klein beetje boontjes en een worteltje (?) verder niets . dat is geen gado gado zoals ik het van huis uit ken. Tjendol kwam in een klein glaasje heel waterig beslist geen kokosmelk of palmsuiker gebruikt en de ieni mini sliertjes van kwee meel? ik betwijfel t want t was totaal smakeloos. Het eten werd niet tegelijk opgediend, de serveerster mag ook wel wat doen aan haar skills. Ronduit een slechte eettent zonde van je geld.

We have never eaten such bad Indonesian food in an uninviting setting. The toilets are dated. An absolute no-go.

Ik had al eerder de website van D'Javas bezocht en was heel benieuwd. Op de menukaart zag ik namelijk aparte gerechten staan die ik (als Javaanse) van huis uit ken en die o.a. door mijn (schoon)moeder en oma's werden bereid. Dit jaar ben ik daar met een vriendin wezen lunchen. Heerlijke Gule Kambing gegeten! Prima bediening. Vorige week ben ik met iemand anders, op een doordeweekse avond, voor het diner geweest. Van de streetfood kozen we: soto babat, tempeh medoan, martabak. Lekker teh tawar erbij. Voor een toetje hadden we helaas geen plek meer :-). Wederom heerlijk gegeten. D'Javas is een aanrader als je authentiek Javaans streetfood wilt (proberen). De sfeer en bediening zijn gemoedelijk, vriendelijk. Op een drukke dag/avond zul je waarschijnlijk langer op je eten moet wachten. We komen zeker terug!

Very disappointing. The scariest I've ever experienced. Definitely not worth the money. Had to pay 3.75 extra for chips. The Cendol was delicious and we suspect the dinner was too, but I don't recommend the high tea to everyone. The people were friendly, but after the meager rack had been placed and the tea and cendol, nothing was said, nothing explained, no communication at all.

Bad hi tea for 5.50, 5 small snacks, had to ask for tea, we also didn't get the tjendol without asking. The pisang ambon came from the microwave. This was with a promotional voucher, definitely not worth the money, normally it is 35.00 on the menu. More than scandalous!!!!!

Good food and friendly staff, but working conditions seemed to be awful for the server. There was only one server for the entire restaurant and she seemed to be overworked as a result. Also saw the owner pocket money from the tip jar? Who does that?

We went there for dinner with Social Deal. A high tea for €17.50 per person, there were two of us. We got 2 spring rolls, 2 lapis, 2 corn biscuits, 2 spekkoek, about 6 pieces of fried banana that had been heated in the microwave and had become rock hard. Other snacks were tasty. We got unlimited tea and a glass of tjendoelen, which was tasty. I thought it was really rip off, paying €35 for an Indonesian high tea. Waste of money. Staff was nice. Edit: I made a reservation for April 7. Yes, I would go there again. I had to because I could no longer cancel the vouchers. So we made a reservation for today, but the restaurant was closed!! We stood there in front of a closed door. Ridiculous.

An absolutely disappointing experience. Our order came incomplete and portion size was minimal. It was almost as if they had run out of ingredients and were trying to get away with serving leftovers. The €14,50 Gado Gado (pictured), which was a replacement for another order which they did not have, was a disappointingly small bowl of steamed vegetables with a blob of sauce, the Lontong and tofu were missing. The same for the meat in soyasauce, priced at €20 I expect a larger portion than I would normally serve my cat. The Bami Goreng (€6,50) was also a tiny portion and seemed it was yesterday’s leftover. The waiter appeared disorganized and overwhelmed. When paying for our food, he was apologetic but nonetheless charged us the full amount. I will not recommend this restaurant to others and do not intend on dining here again.

Nice high tea, but not much, a bit of everything for everyone! It would be better to say that the cappucino is not included, it was also lukewarm! And pricey, 4 euros!

Had a nice High Tea with my daughters, everything was delicious, especially the tjendol, only missed the kelepon and wadjè, but hey, you can't have everything 🫣. Update, I had made a reservation for 5 people via Social Deal, but because my daughter was sick that day, we came with 4 people, I had sent an email in advance about how and what. The staff there had not read anything but removed the 5th sign and put it next to my name that day that we came with 4 people instead of 5 people. Then you would think that the voucher would remain, which was NOT the case. Social Deal was helpful and contacted that business, but the owner said that we had been with 5 people, while there were witnesses that said that was not the case. Afterwards he said again that there had been 4 of us, but that we DID have dinner for 5...... Luckily I had taken a photo with 4 dishes everywhere. What do you mean lying about something like being an owner? The food was tasty, but going to a lying mess is not necessary for me. Social Deal had handled it well and booked the voucher back on its own 👍🏻 TOP.

Had a high tea with my daughter. It was tasty, 2 spring rolls, 2 lapis, 2 corn cakes, 2 bacon cakes and mini fried banana. Es cendol and hot tea. Maybe add klepon or ondé ondé? Staff was very friendly and hospitable. We had dinner here once before with 2 former colleagues and it tasted great! We had a lot left over and were given containers to take home! Especially do the latter, because the food is really good!

It was fine and okay, but several drinks had run out and nothing should be changed about the desserts, not really customer friendly, oh yes and please be out the door before 7:30!!!

SCANDALOUS!!! Once we arrived at the restaurant we had to wait half an hour before someone came to our table to offer us something to drink. We then waited a total of exactly ONE HOUR before our food was served. We paid for a rice table for 3 people but the food was only just enough for 2!! I then informed the host that I had barely been able to eat anything, to which I then received an answer that I might have to. could order more. Sorry, but I pay for a rice table for 3 people and then I expect food for 3. I will certainly never come here again and will not recommend it to anyone.

Late Valentine's dinner :) D'Javas was a while ago, but as always a great Indonesian restaurant. We enjoyed the delicious dishes. Tjendol and Es Tjampoer added. Enak enak sekali, will be back soon.

Rijsttafel was delicious! Highly recommended. Pleasant atmosphere and very friendly service. We will definitely come and have a bite to eat with you again soon.

Portion small, taste okay, service a bit slow

Heerlijk gegeten en vriendelijke bediening. Leuk restaurant. Voor ons de eerste keer en we komen zeker terug. Het was gezellig druk in het restaurant. Eerst drie lekkere hapjes per persoon, verschillende kroepoek, en toen rijsttafel. Vooral de vleesgerechten waren erg lekker. Als toetje een lekkere Es Shanghai gegeten.

Been twice. Had super tasty food. Portions are okay, but not very generous. Some very fatty pieces of beef in between. First time we got gingerbread spekkoek, second time pandan. The second one was better.

Delicious Indonesian dishes at D'javas! The service is slower than I'm used to, but I'm happy to wait for that considering the food you get. The food itself (the most important thing) was really delicious and well prepared, I enjoyed it very much.

Food is good but owner should be ashamed: scheduling two people on a busy evening. Boy runs into panic alone because of a busy shop & lady in the kitchen. It all takes a long time, there is a shortage of catering staff, so just stand there yourself! I've been there before and the same song every time, I'm no longer too sad for words

Het eten was van zeer matige kwaliteit, zelfs gemakzuchtig opgediend (‘kontje’ van de sla op het bord, rauwe emping ertussen, gebakken garnalen ongepeld geserveerd) en zeer overpriced. Voor 3 simpele gerechten en 2 drankjes 67 euro. Maar het ergste was de bediening. Eén serveerster die totaal niet in de gaten had waar haar gasten mee bezig waren. Nadat wij klaar waren hebben we het na een half uur wachten maar opgegeven. Verbaasd dat wij onze jassen pakten en negatief antwoordden op haar vraag of wij geen toetje wilden, vroegen we de rekening. Zelfs toen vond ze het belangrijker om iets anders te gaan doen. Echt bedroevend!

Went here with a friend and I had the Bebek Penyet. We shared Tahu Isi and Siomay. She had the Mie Ayam. I loved the Bebek! My friend also enjoyed the Mie Ayam. The only thing we did not enjoy as much as the Siomay. It wasn't as flavourful as we'd like however it's just preference.

Lunch with old friends. Indonesian delights in Den Haag. Popular cuisine with the Dutch and Indo societies here in the Netherlands. Quaint dining restaurant, good selection of soups, starters, main courses and Nasi Rames, to choose from. Weekends it’s busy so best reserve. They have Teh Botol a favorite drink of mine.

Wij hebben voor een groep voor 10 personen van te voren besteld en op de dag van het feestje het eten afgehaald. Iedereen was onder de indruk van de goede kruiden, het malse vlees en de grote hoeveelheid smaak! Heerlijk eten en zo authentiek! We hebben mede daarom een geweldig feestje kunnen vieren thuis. Very good Nasi Rames, I love the Indonesian taste of it. It tasted like my aunt Louise used to cook, so I was very happy to eat here.

Gisteren wezen eten met 2 pers. Rijsttafel genomen. Alles was in orde en bediening was vriendelijk. Drankjes hadden wel wat sneller mogen komen en wij hadden liever iets meer rijst gehad als ik toch over iets mag zeuren ;) Aan te raden!

This Halal Indonesian restaurant has a nice classic interior, located at a (bit too) quiet square. Parking garage is just below the square, very practical. The Empal dish (sweet beef) and Iga Bakar dish (grilled ribs) were very nice, the Mie Ayam/bakso soup (chicken and beefball) was ok, but the beefballs were missing chewiness. The Bebek Bakar dish (grilled duck) was too hard and too small for the price.

Best aardig eten hoor maar die vrouw die tijdens de lunch bedient, wat een hork! Niet goed voor de sfeer. Ze zit ook steeds heel irritant te appen. Haar telefoon signalen hoor je voortdurend keihard door de hele zaak. Jammer hoor.

The nasi goreng was a very close match to what we have back home in Singapore/Indonesia but for 15 euro per plate, it’s pretty overpriced. It’s fine for a treat and if you’re missing authentic Indonesian cuisine. But definitely not a daily visit as it’s not cheap.

A wonderful experience in the restaurant! They have treated us charmingly and provided a warm welcome. We have ordered a variety of foods and the taste is very original. It was immaculate. They prepare additional condiments like kecap manis (soya sauce), tomato sauce, chili sauce and more. The spicy chili for the bakso is really spicy and we like it. We definitely recommend this place and will visit when we come to Den Haag!
