Indonesisch Restaurant Soeboer in Wijk 28 Centrum

Bad service really bad, I am very disappointed in this restaurant, ordered food that was incomplete. Then I immediately call the store, but 10 calls are not answered. Another customer less!! Definitely no customer friendliness.

It's definitely the worst gado any of us had ever tried. The chicken and beef dishes served cold and dry, and any level service was probably also "not available" like other items. It surprised all of us that this place still attracts enough customers because even if you only look at The Hague, and not surrounding cities, there are so, so many better options when you're looking for this type of meal. Thank god for that, because we all never want to eat here again. Shame if you think about the quality it once had..

We had a reservation for dinner here. Upon arrival we were not received, after waiting a few minutes in the restaurant, someone finally appeared from the kitchen. We just managed to get a nod, after which this person started preparing drinks and just left us standing. After watching this in fascination for 5 minutes, we left. Absurd! Never experienced anything like this, as if they don't want to receive guests.

There were no fish dishes to order, a chicken dish was ordered which was served lukewarm, extra rice was ordered and it was not received. Too bad because I have never had such a tasty meal at Soeboer in the past 20 years

Cold food confused service and not cheap

Not entirely as expected, the food was not great, some pieces of satay were burnt and a few things were missing. However, an expensive price was paid for it.

Half my order was missing. I called and was told it was coming. 2 hours later I hadn't heard anything, so I called again and they were closed.

Food average, atmosphere average, service average. Price-quality ratio moderate.

Yesterday we had dinner with 7 people, the service was below par. The food was a bit disappointing, no, no longer recommended. Too bad it was good

The food was NOT NICE at all and it arrived cold. Made me wonder how long ago it was prepared. The vegetable dish had an unattractive smell and I just threw it in the garbage. I only gave one star because I could not give less. Will definitely NOT be repeating!

The new owner has given the business a modern look. Service can be much better and more customer focused. There is no atmosphere yet and it is very messy and the bar is not yet in order. They still have a lot to learn

As far as I'm concerned, there are still quite a few areas for improvement with this new style. The penultimate time, my order was incomplete when I got home. No rice added!! Today I arrive at the restaurant at 4:45 PM. Which according to the site opens at 4:00 PM. Received the message that the restaurant will not open until 5:00 PM. Leave for a while and come back at 5:15 PM. Then the message comes that there is no staff to take the order, leave because of the rain Even then I wouldn't mind waiting a little longer. But at half past six no one in the shop says, shouts or indicates anything. Then it's done. And what do you mean, deserted by the rain? It has been raining for 6 months. As far as I'm concerned, you can't run a restaurant this way. And scare your customers away.

We had dinner with 5 people on Tuesday evening. The service was very good and we had a delicious meal. We ordered 5 rice tables (2 satay rice tables and 3 Soeboer rice tables). Including drinks, bacon biscuits and coffee/tea, we spent approximately €55. There's a lot of meat in it. And we had plenty of food left over. We were given a doggy bag with what was left. We went home more than satisfied.

Waited 50 minutes in the restaurant to pick up food. Food was cold and very little. The owner promised compensation, but after 5 months still nothing.

Terrible, noodles were cold, vegetables tasted of nothing and the satay was burnt and not very slightly.

When it's busy it's better to pick up, but when it's less it's a wonderful place to relax Not stingy served, traditionally spiced dishes, the DOGGY bags are ready if you can't eat it... staff nice and friendly! Worth repeating

Had a nice meal in Soeboer restaurant. With more friendly service we would have enjoyed our evening more. Also surprising that the furnishings did not look at all like what you see on the photos on the site.

Delicious food, but I think €4.50 for a bottle of Heineken is excessive. For the rest, nothing to complain about, there is paid parking at €6.80 per hour, but Soeboer cannot do anything about that of course.

The food was delicious, freshly prepared, including "ikan penjet", but other dishes such as sop buntut = oxtail soup was great, also the satays

It was just listed as opened on the home delivery site. Ordered, waited until 10:15 PM and guess what? Order cancelled? This location closes at 8pm???? This has nothing to do with the Soeboer restaurant on the Brouwers canal. The website is very confusing because you cannot choose what you want with dishes, white rice or fried rice, etc.

unfortunately completely changed. very crappy plastic containers and suddenly very little, we used to just get half a rice table, but that was no longer possible. unfortunately been coming for 20+ years. time to look for something else., (and that's how you think about it, not a smart move) good luck. 2 years later it has been adjusted back to the way it once was. So 5 stars again👍🏻

A very cozy Indonesian restaurant. Not many tables inside so I recommend making a reservation. This also ensured that it was pleasantly quiet inside. You can order the rice tables per 2 people. They are certainly enough, you can take any leftover food home. You also have a vegetarian rice table that is certainly just as tasty. The service is good, very friendly people and the food was ready in no time. This cozy restaurant is highly recommended!

Reserved a table at 5:30 PM. The only visitors. ICE COLD restaurant. Asked if the heating could be turned on. Was just done... Unpleasant service. Dishes were placed on the table stating what they were, then none: "This is it...Enjoy your meal...Nothing..." I was asked: "Is this all?" Yes! After half an hour, 2 eggs were served. We were almost done eating. The food was delicious. The atmosphere and warmth? Not even worth 1 star.

We enter the restaurant and a seat has been assigned to us, our order has been placed after quite some time. After waiting almost 1 hour, the waitress comes by to indicate that they no longer have cashew chicken. Ridiculous. As if they couldn't have checked that before. This was first time to visit the restaurant and last time. Do something about your service

Great Indonesian food, I like to think it is one of the best in the Hague. Restaurant itself is not to big so if you want to eat there make sure you have a reservation. Location is near the city center and easy to reach by public transport (Tram 6 across the street and 2,3,4,34 around the corner)

Delicious food here and extremely friendly and hospitable staff. Definitely go here more often and can recommend this family business to everyone.

Unfortunately not a good experience: we took two vegetarian main courses. These tasted good, but the portions were very small. We opted for nasi goring. When paying, a small bowl of nasi goreng (which was simply fried rice with nothing in it) cost 11.90. In the evening when we got home we made some more food, because we simply hadn't had enough. Price/quality ratio really lacking. The younger waitress was very friendly, but she was always very quick to clear the table. The restaurant was not full, but we kept getting the feeling that we had to speed up, it was not relaxing to eat in such a way.

Yesterday we had dinner at Soeboer on the occasion of our 48th wedding anniversary. We used to come there at least twice a month, but unfortunately it went bankrupt. It was reopened again so we wanted to see if it was the same atmosphere, service and especially quality. Everything was painted white from 1.25 meters up and all the old photos and sarongs hanging on the wall as well as the old paintings were gone and in their place was blindingly white. We were welcomed very friendly, but that is the only positive thing I experienced. The Soto Ajam was bland and not richly filled. There was no rack on the table with Maggi, ketjap, sambal, salt and pepper so that was very disappointing. We had to keep the spoons of the soto with us, which was very strange. Was, oh well. Then we ordered Babi Ritja, but the chef told us it wasn't there. Well Babi Ketjap so we took that and our neighbor who is always there for us took Sate because she is a very small eater. Things were put on the table without the babi having a spoon. There was also no spoon with the white rice and the nasi goreng and now we started to understand. The spoon of the soto ajam was for general use. The babi ketjap was made from thick and clumsy cut fatty bacon and the ketjap sauce seemed to come straight from the Go Tan bottle. Still no rack with maggi, sambal, ketjap, salt and pepper so I asked for the sambal. I got it on a very small saucer with a slightly smaller spoon than the soto one. My wife asked for the maggie and the pepper and she got two very small saucers. One with some salt and one with some pepper. When she asked whether she should sprinkle it over the meal with her fingers, a teaspoon was brought from somewhere far away. The babi ketjap made from fatty bacon was bland and not tasty and looked NOTHING like the old Soeboer from the past. The neighbor's satay also had chunks of fat and was tough and therefore definitely not made from pork tenderloin as was usual at the old Soeboer. The white wine was drinkable and the coke was the real one from the bottle so no comment on this. The bill took a while to arrive but it turned out to be €88.86. Strange that it ends at 86 cents while everything on the menu ends at €0.95. I paid without tip and said we would never come again and that was taken as a message. Unfortunately, this is not recommended and it is a shame that the "old" name Soeboer may be used here.

Food picked up noodles in a bowl, good but meat, vegetables, pale chicken leg, everything put in 1 bowl, it looked like a dog bowl, it didn't taste like everything mixed together so I didn't know what was what anymore, which was a shame. Chicken 🐔 Satay good....

Het eten was ontzettend lekker! Heel erg goed van smaak en wel erg veel. We hebben meegenomen naar huis. Is weer niet op gegaan. Bediening is zo lief en attent. Sst, niet verder vertellen. Het is daar heel druk maar wel klein. Ik denk vaak vol! Veel mensen zullen weten "Ah toe zeg lekker eten" Terima kasih dan sampai jumpa

Hier hebben we dus heerlijk gegeten. Een van de beste Indische restaurants in Den Haag wat ons betreft.

I went here for a celebration of a colleague's years of service at the organisation we work for. We ordered the rijsttafel. It was more than enough of food. The variety of tastes was amazing. Due to its diversity in food anyone can order a type of plate. Unfortunately I don't know if the vegans have many options, but there are definitely some things to order. They have halal food, but they also serve pork meat. Rest assured the food don't touch each other. My belly was full, the waitresses were very kind and in my experience the best Indonesian food I've had till now. A big statement, but for me that was the case.

Het was in één woord heerlijk, de smaakjes, de gerechten, de service. Gewoon a la carte besteld, te veel natuurlijk, maar dat hoort erbij!

Gelukkig is de Soeboer weer open met een schitterend vernieuwd interieur. De rijsttafel Soeboer was ontzettend lekker en de bediening vriendelijk en behulpzaam en de spekkoek een openbaring !!

Na de heropening, zondag 18 juni 2023 er weer heerlijk gegeten. Als vanouds dus, en dat was zo'n 1 1/2 jaar geleden nog wel anders. Gelukkig is het interieur weer gezelliger, immers die verhoogde tafels met die tussenschotten was n aanfluiting. Wat wel jammer was was dat de zaak rond 19:00 uur op 1 tafel na zo goed als leeg was! Dit kwam de sfeer niet ten goede. Hopelijk komt daar binnenkort verandering in, want aan het eten ligt het zeker niet! Ook de bediening was uiterst vriendelijk. De prijzen zijn inmiddels wel verhoogd, maar nog steeds betaalbaar.

Echt zo lekker gegeten het was subliem en ondanks dat het vrij simpel was pijpenla 8 tafels achter elkaar voelde het goed en was her sfeervol

Vanaf de koningstraat heb ik er met regelmaat gegeten de smaken en kwaliteit van het eten werd de laatste jaren wat minder maar nu na een facelift van het interieur is ook de kwaliteit en smaak van het eten weer top misschien nog wel smakelijker dan ooit!

Super restaurant aan de rand van centrum Den Haag. Heerlijke rijsttafels!

Klein en knus Indonesisch restaurant met voortreffelijk eten. Reserveren misschien wel handig. Rijsttafel Soeboer is een aanrader. En wat over is gewoon meenemen naar huis om er daar ook nog een keer van te genieten.

Wat jammer zeg. Vanavond met vrienden gehoopt op de beleving bij de wereld beroemde Soeboer, maar de deze beleving bleef uit. Restaurant zat helemaal vol waardoor de keuken en de bediening waarschijnlijk helemaal in de stress zijn geschoten. Eén van de dames van de bediening onbeleefd en best wel onbeschoft, ze was zwaar gepikeerd dat we na bij 1 1/2 uur vroegen hoe het met het voorgerecht was. Drankjes hetzelfde probleem en met het hoofdgerecht was het niet veel beter. Vier rijsttafels waar verschillende gerechten van ontbraken. Aantal waren echt heel lekker, maar sommige, niet door te komen zo droog en taai. Klaar mer eten, tafel bleef vol, nagerecht maar niet genomen, Waren er eingelijk wel klaar mee. Nogmaals heel jammer, waar is de Soeboer van vroeger?

Vegetarische rijsttafel besteld samen met wat losse ‘snack’s’ Eten was erg smaakvol, goede combinatie van kruiden en pittig. Alleen sommige gerechten waren droog, dat was jammer. Maiskoekjes absoluut favoriet!

Eten was super lekker.... de bestelling ging alleen niet helemaal volgens plan duurde al met al 30 minuten en was wat we beateld hadden, goed opgelost dat danweer wel...;-) ik hoop dat dit opstart problemen zijn... maar nogmaals het eten smaakte top!!!!!

Rijsttafel voor 4 personen.Smaak oké, miste wel wat pit.Porties wel erg karig voor 110e.Vroegen ons af of 2 persoons rijsttafel de helft was van wat op de schaaltjes lag. Vriendelijke bediening, eten stond snel op tafel ondanks drukte. -wordt geen alcohol geschonken. Conclusie: er zijn betere te vinden in Den Haag

Zo blij dat Soeboer weer terug is. Smaak is en blijft ongeëvenaard. Echt puur genieten!

Dinsdag 14 maart heerlijk gegeten zalige Rijstafel echt voor Herhaling vatbaar.

Gerechten zorgvuldig bereid, saté, rendang en ikan bali voortreffelijk. Weinig pedis. Tijd tussen bestellen en serveren was wat lang. Bediening zeer vriendelijk.

Het doorgestarte Soeboer verdient vijf sterren! Wij hebben met vier personen mogen genieten van de uitbundige en verfijnde rijsttafel. En van een goed gesprek met de nieuwe enthousiaste eigenaar. Kom naar de Brouwersgracht naar de nieuwe Soeboer! Wij gaan zeker terug.

Als het goed is check je waar je lekker indonesisch eten kan krijgen; Hier dus. Vandaag hebben wij met z'n tweeën een heerlijke rijsttafel gegeten en zijn we supergoed geholpen. Snel en heerlijk, wat wil je nog meer?

Was wat rustig vanavond, wel prima eten

Met 4 personen de rijsttafel genomen maar ik vraag mij af als je met 2 personen was geweest had je vermoedelijk dezelfde hoeveelheid gekregen echter voor de helft van de prijs natuurlijk. Soep was op verder na 6 biertjes was dit ook op. Erg teleurstellend.

Vroeger een prima en authentiek restaurant. Zo vaak gegeten! Maar nu: totaal andere sfeer door renovatie, slechte kwaliteit eten. Was totaal niet het eten van vroeger. Alleen de saté was lekker. Heel jammer!
