Delicious food always in a homely atmosphere.

Food was A-mazing! Service was ok, waitress was all alone and it was quite busy! So fair play to her. Would definitely go back and recommend to anyone wanting to have some good Indonesian food in the Hague. We had the rijstafel x3 for 6 people and we left full and happy. Prices were very reasonable. Great experience overall.

Bogor is and will always be, adoe, the Indonesian living room of the capital. Delicious, artistic food, with the satay Gambing as the standard-bearer. Wonderfully informal, cozy in all its flavors, and their sambal Badjak...a jar of it to take home. Delicious with Djeroek and lots of onion that clearly "wanders" through the sambal. Bogor...? I drive there especially from Arnhem (and back).

We were looking for a place to try our first rijstaffel and heard about this place being recommended on reddit so we decided to give it a try. We arrived just after 4pm on a Wednesday and the doors hadn't opened yet. We waited a bit outside until we heard some rustling inside so we decided to go in. Unsurprisingly we were the first folks there. The server seemed rushed and discombobulated. She took our orders quickly and for the rest of the time we had to listen to her yelling at someone on the phone and saying profanities (at least those were in English). Needless to say, the atmosphere was not great. Our rijstaffel took a little while to be served which would have been fine if we were enjoying ourselves. Instead we were just sitting there listening to the servers private call, and I think even the chef took a call at one point that we could hear. When our rijstaffel was delivered to the table, our server explained half of the dishes and left us to figure out the rest. It would have been nice to know what the other items were. The food itself was okay, I wasn't blown away but also didn't have anything to compare to. When it was time to settle the bill the server said they preferred cash. We didn't have quite enough cash to cover the whole bill so we told the server this and she repeated that they preferred cash... We said we could pay with card no problem. She said she would take whatever cash we had and would charge the leftover on our card. I understand the preference for cash but this wasn't something we were aware of ahead of time... It made us feel awkward when we said we didn't have enough cash to pay the bill and she insisted that's what they preferred.. It wasn't as if they couldn't take credit at all so I didn't understand why she was pressuring us to pay with cash. Overall, a disappointing experience as we were hoping for a great first rijstaffel experience and even did the research to try and find a good spot. The food was okay, but the service and atmosphere overshadowed the whole experience.

What used to be delicious, was now disappointing. The nasi rames was dry, the coconut was burnt, and the satay was also disappointing. Even though we had a reservation, we still had to wait half an hour and were crammed into a very small corner. I hope they improve soon!

Simply awful! Pay in cash! I don't have a problem with it if they ask, but make sure you have your affairs in order. And Bogor certainly doesn't have that... The welcome was unfriendly, the hostess rude, and the food cold and bad. All the food seemed to have been reheated, but unfortunately, that's apparently difficult, as both the satay and the chicken that was served were cold. The chicken was even still completely stuck together from the cold and was microwaved without any embarrassment, amid loud criticism from the kitchen. No, thank you, never again for Bogor!

This charming restaurant is nestled in a residential neighborhood and looks a bit like a living room inside. The service is very friendly, and the food is good and reasonably priced.

I never actually write a review last year, 2024, but I used to go there often. It was great then, but in 2024 it was so bad. Terrible. Today we saw on Google that they were back. Naively, I thought, it must be better now. Because I don't think it could be worse. The worst part is, it could be worse. While others have already written about the satay, which used to be so good. I ordered an extra portion. It was indigestible and inedible. Really warm peanut butter from Lidl. No flavor. Before dinner, I had two containers of sambal, but I stopped after five bites. Take advantage of my incredibly bad experience.

With a group of 12 colleagues we had a fantastic evening at restaurant Bogor in The Hague. The reservation went smoothly and we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff. The tables were already neatly set and we immediately felt welcome. Despite the size of our group, the service was excellent: smooth, professional and with a smile. We opted for the extensive rice table, so that everyone could taste a bit of everything. What a taste sensation! The dishes were all fresh, richly spiced and beautifully presented. From the spicy rendang to the crispy perkedel and fragrant nasi kuning – everything was equally delicious. Even colleagues who are normally not that familiar with Indonesian food were impressed. Dietary requirements were well taken into account and vegetarian options were plentiful. The atmosphere in the restaurant is warm, informal and perfect for a group outing. We enjoyed delicious matching drinks, and the pace of serving was just right. Everyone could enjoy themselves without feeling rushed. Afterwards, we finished with coffee, spekkoek and ice cream - a delicious end to a great evening. Bogor is highly recommended for larger groups looking for good food and hospitable service. We are already looking forward to the next time!

The two of us had a wonderful meal at restaurant Bogor in The Hague last weekend. From the moment we entered, we immediately felt welcome. The atmosphere is warm, authentic and cozy – you feel like you are in Indonesia for a moment. The service was friendly, attentive and gave us great recommendations. We chose a rice table with various dishes to share. Each dish had its own character and tasted delicious. The rendang was buttery soft and full of flavor. The satay was perfectly grilled and the peanut sauce was exactly as it should be. The gado gado and the sambal goreng beans were also very tasty. The portions were generous, but not excessive. What stood out was the refined balance between spicy, sweet and spicy. We drank a fresh Bintang with it, which made the experience complete. The dessert, spekkoek with ice cream, was a perfect ending. Everything was served at a nice pace – no rush, but also no long waiting times. The interior is cozy with Indonesian accents, without kitsch, a real eatery. It was clear that the cooking is done with love. For us this was an evening to remember. Bogor is, in our opinion, a must for anyone who loves Indonesian food. We will definitely come back here!

Very nice cozy place. Cheerful ladies in the service and give very good advice. This was our first experience at Bogor but certainly not the last. The beans were crispy and the sajoer was like in Indonesia. The interior is indeed really outdated. Still we like it. You don't find such things anymore. The batik on the table everything clashes with each other but it also gives such a homely atmosphere. For us it was very pleasant tonight and certainly worth repeating! My favorite Indo for years. Unfortunately Bogor is no longer the Bogor of the past. Where the satay used to be the tastiest ever, it has now changed to sticks in watery mush. The rest is also tasteless. Too bad, too bad, too bad. Ambience and service nothing to complain about! But I want my favorite restaurant back!!

By now faded glory! My sister has been celebrating her birthday there for a long time, but they can't really handle large groups (14 people). The food (a "large" rice table) came much too quickly, despite the agreement that it would only come after the toast, the food was cold, too little for the group and (just like previous years) there was again not enough cutlery. Everyone had to serve themselves with their used cutlery. Dessert was not really what the waitress intended, because instead of a menu, 3 desserts were called out. Unfriendly service, but there were only two of us for the entire restaurant. I wouldn't be happy about that either. Everything is super narrow, dated and not fresh. The furniture is old and rickety. The toilet door is extremely dirty (completely black and greasy) from being grabbed, not cleaned for a long time and not painted for a long time either! The high chairs are also not clean, actually just dirty. It's time for the owner to invest a little, freshen things up, provide enough cutlery and maybe some more staff. If you come to eat with 14 people you can expect a bit more!

Lovely dining room atmosphere and fantastic food. We had the Rijsttafel Bogor (16 dishes) which was really delicious and in combination with the great service Bogor Roemah Makan is a place to return soon.

We were really looking forward to the rice table for two, partly because of the positive reviews we had read beforehand. Unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing for us. For €47 we expected a well-prepared and tasty meal, but the portions were surprisingly small and not in proportion to the price. What surprised us most was that the bami consisted of simple instant noodles — something you really don't expect at this level and at this price. In addition, most dishes tasted as if they had been reheated rather than freshly prepared, which made the whole thing even less attractive. The presentation and portion size unfortunately gave a rather ungenerous impression. We regularly eat Indonesian food, both at home and at various authentic restaurants, and can therefore say with some certainty that this unfortunately did not meet what you would expect from Indonesian food in terms of taste and quality.

Very friendly atmosphere. Staff super nice and helpful. Real Indian food. Very tasty. From extensive rice tables to small portions. Something unique: you get a carafe of water!! Unfortunately we had to wait a long time.

Over het armoeiige, vervallen interieur waar niets meer aan gedaan lijkt te zijn sinds de jaren ‘70, heb ik het dan niet eens. Heel spijtig, maar bij Bogor komen we nooit meer terug

Heerlijk gegeten in een huiselijke sfeer. Bijzonder vriendelijk en heel snel personeel. Lekker speciaalbiertje van de tap. Heerlijk vers kokosijs in een halve kokosnoot, prima spekkoek. Zoals Indonesisch eten bedoeld is! En dat voor nog geen 30 euro per persoon!

Everyone can read this. I don't like to post this because this restaurant is actually also a part of my family's heart because my father worked there for years. My father has unfortunately passed away but he would be ashamed of what it has become now. Ordered and picked up for over 85 euros today. From the Westland there especially half an hour through the rush hour because it is our favorite. We called in advance and were immediately answered unfriendly and after ordering immediately asked for cash. Why actually if I want to pay by card? Then the food. I ordered ikam bali ketjap. They immediately said oh that takes half an hour we will make it fresh for you. I said I'll give you the benefit of the doubt because it takes a bit longer to prepare it the right way. They convinced me that it would be fine. When I got home and opened the container And took 2 bites I knew enough... Misery! Then the Daging in banana leaf which was dry and crumbled. The beans tasteless. The sate kambing suddenly turned out to be lamb meat. I think kambing is still goat meat. We also got it 2 months ago and then we also had a nasty encounter with the unfriendly lady who walks around there and the food was already less but still gave the benefit of the doubt. The lady can still be called arrogant and certainly not like before. Those ladies were nice and received you warmly and you felt like you were coming home. No, Bogor has changed over the years and especially the past 2 years. The people who, like me, have been eating here for over 30 years will certainly know it too. I really wonder how you can help something so beautiful to go to pieces. It even hurts a little actually. Hopefully the owners will do something about this. And the times come back as they used to be, the coziness, the cozy atmosphere, the friendliness and most importantly, the delicious food. Back to the old recipes I would say and different staff. Hopefully you will do something with this!

Had a delicious meal a month or so ago.

My favorite Indonesian restaurant ever. Delicious food many times. A few months ago the food was already less than I am used to. Tonight, however, everything hit. It was really very bad. Cold rendang, no more nasi goreng, white rice was very strange, the satay was in a watery strange and tasteless sauce, the snow peas tasteless. In short, the old glory has disappeared. I'm actually quite indignant that they dare to put something like that on the table. After having eaten there an estimated 50 times at least, I won't be back. Thanks for the good years Bogor. Time to stop.

A pleasant restaurant with an intimate atmosphere. Very nice staff. It's busy. The Bogor rice table was ordered. As a vegetarian, I don't like the meat dishes, which my companion ate with relish, but I was not happy with the vegetarian part. The sayur lodeh was not well seasoned (I didn't taste any salam or galangal at all) and everything that was fried was swimming in the oil. An unrecognizable dish with labu Siam, other vegetable dishes, everything with a puddle of oil. The satay was fine. So in total a divided pleasure. I won't be back there.

Very unsympathetic, bad and rude service. Leffe beer in a small glass with half foam, for 5.5 euros. Nasi king requested, the message was, it's gone, tomorrow again. In short, the last time we have been here, because of the service. Very unfortunate.

Alleen goede herinneringen aan Bogor.Vol verwachting er vanavond weer geweest. Geen idee wat er is gebeurt sinds ons laatste bezoek. Kleine loempia,s 6stuks ronduit smerig. Pangsit 6 stuks taai ipv krokant. Gado Gado witte Kool ipv Sperziebonen en Taugé en Emping Nasi, oud en opgereuteld met een gesneden plak ham ( !) De bediening was vriendelijk en de huiswijn was best.

The food is not particularly good but ok. Clinging too much to the past can be exaggerated, this place and especially the sanitary facilities are in need of a makeover. The staff was a bit surly on arrival but later friendly, but the sign stating preference for cash payment was a bit uncomfortable, I almost excused myself to pay by debit card, I never pay in cash.

Picked up food today but it was very disappointing. We got rames, but about 3/4 was rice and that was supplemented with a very small amount of different dishes that were tasty in themselves, but very little and not a lot of taste. So it wasn't worth it for your money unfortunately..

Real delicious indonesien food in a more simple ambiente. They name it dining room. This Restaurant exist since the 1960‘s. Extremly recommendable.

Deze plek is geweldig voor een ongedwongen avond uit. Heerlijke muziek op de achtergrond. Het eten was werkelijkwaar verrukkelijk. Om je vingers bij af te likken. We zaten gezellig aan het raam bij de eerste kamer. Het is er zo huiselijk, zo gezellig! Bediening was vriendelijk. We werden hartelijk ontvangen. Wij komen zeker weer terug! Had dinner here yesterday with a group of 10 people. What a chaotic mess it was. It was really really bad on all levels! The food: We communicated what we wanted to eat at 5:00 PM. It wasn't until 7:00 PM that it was thrown on the table, literally thrown. It turned out that all home delivery orders took precedence over our order. The meat was tough, dry, old and burnt. It tasted like plastic. The staff didn't even come by to ask what we wanted to drink. We always had to speak to the staff. Or we made a list of our own drinks. The staff: Unfriendly and grumpy, they clearly couldn't handle the crowds. And if you asked them something, you were almost snubbed. We were celebrating a birthday. When half the table was empty, the waitress came with an ice cream with a star in it. Didn't even wait until everyone was seated again. Clearly the insight of 10 people who don't have it!!! And what I really disliked is that we could just pay the full amount. No drinks were offered to us to accommodate us, nor was any discount given on the bill. In addition, no one really bothered to explain or apologize. Apparently things were once different. But after yesterday we will never come to this restaurant again and we certainly will not recommend it. Oh yes, and today: We all have stomach aches and we're just sitting on the toilet. It was a really great visit!

I really liked Bogor in the past, but this time I found it sparse and not very tasteful. I thought Pedis was hard to find. And the portions were really not what they used to be, even the spekkoek was really meager... 4 thin slices. I hope Bogor will do something with this info..

A restaurant that has been around for some time. The Indonesian cuisine is neat and tasteful. We discovered this restaurant 30+ years ago through Happinezz. Now that I have been working in The Hague for 5+ years, it was time to go back again.. The taste of the dishes has changed little and is reminiscent of Beb Vuijk's cookbook. Of course there are many things to comment on. The food is tasty and recognizable. Too bad we had to wait more than 45 minutes for the order to come through (table 6; 7 people). It is special that a rice table for 2 people that initially appears to have been ordered later can be served earlier. The staff is also more likely to eat with similar dishes; It looks or looks like a major blunder. No; This is also not an occasion where I would propose to my girlfriend. There are sufficient and more fully-fledged businesses in The Hague where this is possible. But the food was okay.

It's a decent place for Indonesian cuisine. Do make a reservation beforehand if you want to eat in the restaurant.

Been coming to Bogor for years and the food is mostly very good. I also often get something and, although this always lowers the quality a bit, this is usually fine. However, today I had a special delivery of bami rames for almost 23 euros (!) and that was really disappointing! It looked like a container with leftovers from yesterday, there was very little noodles and there was a layer of moisture at the bottom, making everything very wet. Everything tasted the same, especially watery.. I am really very disappointed and will order elsewhere for the time being.

Went despite bad reviews, and it was a good thing. We had a delicious meal and the staff was so friendly. Not shy about a nice chat. The restaurant was packed again, which also shows how popular this place is.

Picked up food, what a disappointment! Nasi goreng is dredge fat fried in chili oil, there is not much else in it. No taste either. The bami goreng does have some pieces of carrot and some leek and pak choi, but it has no taste either. Gado Gado wasn't special either and there were 3 snacks of prawn crackers on top IN the sealed container, which were of course completely sticky and limp. Why not put some pieces in a separate bag, there were also 2 whole boiled eggs in it... The service was not really very friendly either. No more Bogor for me. A little more attention to the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff would not be out of place.

I was there in May and it was a major disappointment. The food was not tasty and it was completely different from before. I think the kitchen staff has left. It was the same the last time. Very unfortunate because we liked to eat there.

We got the rice table and it was incredible. Definitely more than enough for two people. We had Indonesian in Amsterdam and this cannot compare- it was simply so much better here. The flavors and spices were outstanding and the food was fresh. A little expensive but worth it for a night out!

Na een dagje uit met vrienden gezellig voor het raam uit eten. Parkeren ging goed in de toch wel drukke straat. Hartelijk ontvangen door een jonge vrouw met prachtig zwart haar. De rest van het personeel was ook uiterst vriendelijk. Snelle attente bediening. Heerlijke kleefrijst met Ikan Bali (makreel) met Super Sambal! Lekker biertje....de andere gerechten waren ook super. Always good I wrote this four years ago. I'll get back to you. My parents came here with a pan of nasi. My favorite for years, but now also one of the children's. Unfortunately, it is terribly painful. What about a kind of waitress (that word is just too much) who is too miserable to come to you and we now know Bogor in terms of staff. How can you operate in a kind of cycling shorts... Sorry, it hurts me. The food you ultimately came for was also just bad... unimaginative and certainly not tasty. Come on Bogor is becoming my favorite again 🤩

We hebben daar met 30 man een rijsttafel gegegeten. Eten was verrukkelijk, de entourage gezellig en de bediening perfect. Een echte aanrader om daar samen met vrienden/familie een heerlijke Indonesische maaltijd te eten.

Echt onwijs gezellige avond gehad en heerlijk gegeten. Wij kunnen ons totaal niet vinden in de recensies. Bediening leuk vlot personeel en vriendelijk zelfs als het super druk is! Wij komen snel weer terug!!!!!!

I am writing this review on behalf of my mother because she was so disappointed with her order. She had ordered satay kambing but it turned out to be chicken and the sambal goreng tempeh had been exchanged for gado gado. When she said she didn't want gado gado but tempeh and otherwise wanted her money back, that was not possible. She had also ordered crispy fried fish with the sauce separately, but when she got home it turned out that the fish had been covered with the sauce and was therefore completely soft and limp and could therefore no longer be made crispy in the air fryer. In short, 1 big disappointment. Too bad because we always have a good meal at Bogor, but the service for takeaway is substandard.

This has been a good restaurant with good food for a long time. However, things have only gotten worse in recent months. Ordered food yesterday and when I came to pick it up one of the dishes was not there (had already ordered hours before, so it was a bit of a hassle to call to let them know). When I asked which dish resembled this in terms of taste, the person was very difficult and eventually pushed a menu under my nose with which I could choose it myself. The other food was just plain not good. We had it for 5 people and no one liked it. It can happen from time to time that things are a bit disappointing, but this is now the third time in a row with a few weeks in between and it is only getting worse. For us, this was the last time we ordered from there.

We visited early on a Saturday evening (5.30 pm) and accepted a table on the basis that we could only stay for one hour 15 mins as we hadn't reserved. We came upon this restaurant by chance not realising how popular it is so didn't reserve. That was OK. The food came quickly - we had a vegetarian rijsttafel. The food was middling. Good range of dishes but all were lukewarm and given our lack of time we just accepted this. On paying the bill, we were asked to pay cash - not asked if we could but told to. Like most people who has cash these days and for such a popular local restaurant, I couldn't help but wonder if the very sharp head waitress was trying it on because we were visitors.

But last week: How bad, how bad... after more than 40 years, if this doesn't change, I'm going to say goodbye to my favorite restaurant. Went yesterday but what a bad experience, never experienced that before. Although the dishes were great again {only...maybe they contained V-tsin}, the service was terrible, what a mentality, never experienced something so bad in all those years? Where are those nice people who always left such a good impression? The people who were led here yesterday June 5, 2024 by a grumpy lady, who already had the p in it when I asked if there was a new chef or a new owner because I thought the sambal was different than usual, but the biggest dissatisfaction was that orders were forgotten, were not complete, topped by what I considered to be poor begging to pay in cash, exacerbated by loudly thanking for the cash when someone did pay in cash because that was appreciated. Get rid of it, will you let me know when this lady has been replaced and the overall picture is back to normal? If not, that's a shame, but you won't see me again after all these years! Previously: My favorite for 45 years, no common spices in all the dishes, just great!

Well, Bogor continues to surprise. Sometimes very good, sometimes mediocre. The nasi kuning dish from my last visit was prepared a bit carelessly and tasted just adequate. The rice table was dominated by excessively coarsely cut meat dishes. I keep coming, because the quality is always a surprise. Service and atmosphere make up for a lot.

Food still tastes excellent, but it is not as it used to be. Portions have apparently been adapted to the current times (lots of rice, less meat). No more special sajoer lodeh, homemade pieces of prawn crackers are now common. Satay babi turned out to be made of chicken and the braise had lost its Indian character. But all in all tasty

Very tasty traditional Indonesian food with a high price/quality ratio. Oversized living room restaurant (I'm guessing 100 people eat there every evening, ex takeaway) which has been running for a long time, is known to the Indo locals and is always full... I enjoyed it. Comfortable atmosphere!
