De Poentjak in Wijk 28 Centrum

Authentiek Indonesisch Restaurant, al jarenlang een begrip. Serveert diverse rijsttafels en deze zeer perfect op smaak.

Ik had voor 5 personen gereserveerd en kreeg de ronde (4persoons) tafel toegewezen. Het was dus niet eenvoudig de maaltijd ontspannen te gebruiken mede doordat de verlichting bij deze tafel veel te wensen overliet. Het heeft mijn gasten en mij best wel gesmaakt al vond ik de hoeveelheid vlees wat tegenvallen. De extra fooi van 10% werd aanvaard maar daar is het wel mee gezegd. De ober was er niet echt blij mee.

Leuk intiem restaurant met de sfeer van tempo doeloe. Heerlijke authentieke gerechten en een uiterst vriendelijke en correcte bediening. Prima prijs-kwaliteitverhouding. Al jarenlang een begrip in Den Haag en omgeving.

Este pequeño restaurante solo sirve menús fijos de múltiples platos indonesios para degustar y compartir. Teníamos seis personas y pedimos el “mejor” menú. Era mucha comida y la comida era generalmente sabrosa y bien preparada. El servicio fue atento y agradable. Algunos de los platos estaban un poco demasiado cocinados en mi opinión, pero en general una noche muy agradable.

Mijn collega heeft hier donderdag 5juni gegeten. Vervolgens al gelijk die avond begon het met hevige buikpijn en diarree. Hij is doodziek geworden van het eten en heeft 3 dagen lang daarna op bed of op de wc gezeten. Ik zou ook meegaan die avond maar kon uiteindelijk toch niet gaan. Achteraf ben ik hier blij om. Ze waren in totaal met ze 3e waarvan ze minimaal 1 dag met buikgriep hebben gelegen en mijn collega waarvoor ik schrijf zelfs 3dagen. Zei hebben gelijk gebeld en zijn langsgegaan bij het restaurant en er wordt dood leuk gezegd ja daar doen we niks mee je kan het op de e-mail zetten maar verder gaan we niks doen. Schandelijk slecht is deze tent! Het feit alleen al dat dit of voedselvergiftiging heeft veroorzaakt en buikgriep wordt er gewoon smerig en onhygiënisch met eten omgegaan. Om als klap op de vuurpijl ook geen compensatie of begrip te krijgen is werkelijk onbegrijpelijk. Deze tent nooit meer.

La comida era increíble. Auténtico indonesio. Personal relativamente rápido, muy amable. Y el precio era realmente razonable.

Personale molto educato e servizievole, cibo impeccabile e di qualità superiore rispetto ad altri ristoranti sushi. Unica pecca, i tavoli sono un po' piccoli per tenere diversi piatti.

Dit is een Indonesische rijsttafel (Poentjak royale/deluxe) zoals niet eerder ergens anders zó lekker gegeten. Wat een klassetent, en dat al meer dan 40 jaar aan de Kneuterdijk in ons prachtige Den Haag. Een parel van smaragd op culinair vlak zou ik zeggen. Fijne aardige bediening, vlot, zalige gerechtjes en die oersfeer die je bij een Indisch restaurant verwacht. Niet voor niks een van de lievelingsrestaurants van Mark Rutte en inmiddels bezocht door vele prominenten. Ik snap nu ook waarom; hier wil je iedere week minimaal een keer eten!

Convenientemente ubicado cerca del hotel VOCO al lado nuestro grupo eligió este restaurante para un rijstafel. Fue recomendado por muchos lugareños. Ambiente auténtico y personal multilingüe amable. Los platos seguían viniendo y viniendo. Tuvimos el “Sumatra” para 9. El precio es muy razonable. Me encantó todo excepto el hígado que nunca como. No puedes equivocarte aquí. Muchas opciones. La cerveza indonesia es bastante buena también.

Heerlijk rijsttafelen in de Poentjak aan de Kneuterdijk. We waren er op een donderdagavond, de vroege sectie dus van 17-19 uur. De latere was al vol. Uitstekende klassiek Indische gerechten. Snelle en vriendelijke bediening in een sfeervolle goed bewaarde inrichting. Een aanrader, wel reserveren want er zijn er meer die hier van houden.

Heerlijk gegeten met een grote groep. Leuke authentieke entourage zelfs onze kleinzoon van net twee heeft veel smaken kunnen proeven. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar

Alleen het interieur en de sfeer zijn een bezoek waard. De rijsttafel viel me tegen. Wel veel bakjes, maar niet echt bijzonder. Op de saté gambing (geitenvlees) na, die was smakelijk. In mijn beleving was het vroeger in de jaren 70 (voorlaatste keer dat ik er was!) veel smakelijker.

l was transported back to my childhood time in Indonesia by the nostalgic decor and taste of the food! Everything I had here was super delicious. If I had to pick, the Lamb Satay and Sambal Goreng Chicken Liver of the Rijsttafel set were highlight for me. Staff were also very attentive and friendly. Highly recommended.

I think the best Indonesian dishes are served here. Not only the rice tables but also the individual dishes taste delicious. The ambience is unique. Everything is served on chaise longues on laid tables. You feel comfortable here. Reservation is necessary to get a table.

Amazing Indonesian restaurant with a great classical ambiance. For a business dinner we ordered rice tables, meaning they just fill the entire table with delightfull delicacies. If I could, I would eat Indonesian every week! The staff is very hospitable and made sure we had a great time. Thank you very much, would absolutely recommend.

They have a nice menu where they’ll serve you like 20 different dishes, and the best part was the lamb! Great service as well. Though the interior is a little dusty, I mean, actually dusty, like they should bring a duster to the entire restaurant, but lovely inside!

Great place for an Indonesian meal. Dishes are varied and (for a layman) very tasty. The table service has been rejuvenated, but has a comparable dedication to the traditional service. Imagine yourself as a world leader and dine here. The toilet is a downside: dated and on the first floor.

After making a reservation, we went to lunch with a large group. We had to wait a very long time for the food and two of us left before the food arrived on the table due to another appointment. Rijsttafel was good and tasty. I found the service less. I won't go here with a large group anymore.

How nostalgic can it be, especially now that Garoeda has become a hip gastronomic destination, we must cherish poentjak as our heritage. Food is delicious, not spicy (sometimes a shame), maybe a bit small Portions in the rice table. Service is fast and courteous. Atmosphere 100% cozy

We came after 8pm without reservation and they kindly let us have a table. Food was great but the staff didn't have adequate knowledge for details such as allergenic ingredients and veganism. Delicious dishes are on the varied menu. The dishes tasted more than good. Soto ayam, satay kambing, satay manis, satay ayam, satay babi and for dessert delicious fresh bacon biscuit.

We have eaten here a number of times and it remains a great experience! We have eaten out a lot, but this has not yet been equaled! Fantastic staff, you get the necessary extras, the customer is king here and we don't say too much. This is our number 1 when it comes to eating out. We now understand why Rutte liked coming here!!

During my stay in The Hague this summer, I wanted to try the Rijsstafel. I found this Indonesian restaurant on Maps and without booking, not far from where I thought I would drink a good digeo during the Euro. I chose the Rijsstafel "Sate", accompanied by 2 glasses of white wine and then a "Coupe Poentjak". Great atmosphere and service, but the dessert, sorry it's one star less: the Indonesian fruit cocktail was purely and simply fruit in syrup served in a school canteen ...

For truly authentic Indonesian food, you might be better off going elsewhere. The food lacks flavor, spice and fresh herbs. The food was lukewarm and little. Price/quality and quantity ratio is hard to find.

Ordered a Sumatra rice table for two people today. What a huge disappointment this was, the satay was very tough and the rest of the food was also cold. Unbelievable that you also have to pay €32.50 per person for this. The quality of the food is really so bad that we have no words for it. As far as we're concerned, don't eat here because it's really not worth it!!

I visited this restaurant with very high expectations as it had high Google ratings. The owner was very talkative and the atmosphere was not bad, but the food still tasted light and was very different from the taste I had experienced during my trip to Indonesia. Perhaps the restaurant caters to Dutch tastes, but I would have liked to see the real Indonesian flavors. If only they had more confidence in their own food.

Still a beautiful colonial appearance here in this cozy and cozy Indonesian restaurant, you quickly feel at home here. I am quite critical when it comes to Indian food (because my roots are there too), but if the satay kambing is good, the rest is also good, as they say in Indo circles. And that is the case here again! Employees are attentive and personable and you get some Emping (nut prawn crackers) in advance. Afterwards we had a delicious meal. There is a photo of an employee between Rutte and Macron, who have also been enjoying their meal in a corner here. And that makes sense because the restaurant is opposite the courtyard. It is recommended to make a reservation in advance.

Heerlijke rijsttafel in een mooie , smaakvolle ambiance uit vervlogen oude Indische tijden. Echte authentieke Indonesische smaken. Grote variatie van gerechten die we gezellig met elkaar kunnen delen. Twee kleine minpunten, er is geen gemberthee en de bediening is een beetje afstandelijk.

Hmm…. Gemengde gevoelens op aanraden bij een dagbezoek aan de stad Den haag de dag afgesloten met een rijsttafel. Mag zeggen dat ik vele indonesische gerechten heb gegeten echter dit viel enigszins tegen. De saté krijgt een 9 De rest onder de maat Eten werd snel geserveerd de ene ober ( waarschijnlijk de eigenaar) deed echt zijn best, zijn assistent had een slechte dag. Ondanks dat ik waarschijnlijk niet vaker naar denhaag ga zal ik hier niet terug keren, Na de recensies te hebben gelezen is het ooit beter geweest

Authentiek, uit de oude doos, herkenbaar jaren 60-70. Eten goed Poentjak rijsttafel prima en voldoende, traditioneel. In de geest van toen heerlijk gegeten.

Met een groot gezelschap uitstekend gegeten (ook voor vegetariers) , ontspannen sfeer en zeer correcte attente bediening.

This Indonesian restaurant bring you back to the colonial times the moment you step in the front door. The interior is a little dated and could be a little cleaner, but this adds to the interesting atmosphere. The good was delicious, with good vegan options. This restaurant’s interior hasn’t changed for decades which delivers a unique atmosphere. The food is great I always choose one of the traditional rice tables. And as dessert, you have to try the Tjendol a Indonesian drink with cocosmilk and palmsugar. It was a pity I could not change some of the dishes for others. Even not with paying a bit extra.

We had dinner here on the advice of Prime Minister Rutte and it was fantastic! Never tasted Indonesian cuisine before, it was beyond expectations. Everything is right here, the welcome, the service, the authenticity of the restaurant and above all the food. Definitely worth repeating if we stay in The Hague again.

It's great that you imagine yourself in Indonesia for a moment, it looks a bit old and perhaps it is a matter of laziness to renovate it a bit. The food has a reasonable taste, but I found it very little. For me, the portions were very small for a group of 6 people. One bowl with some pieces of meat and that also applied to the other dishes. At the Rendang for the second time with a lot of fat and not biting through. When you dine for a considerable amount of money, you expect to leave the building with a little more satisfaction. It is not easily accessible for people who have difficulty walking. Toilets are small and for the gentlemen you have to climb some difficult stairs. The entrance is also narrow.

We have a few Indonesian restaurants in London but I wanted to try a 'proper' one while in Netherlands. The staff are very friendly and the food was really good. I like that you can share, lots of small bowls so you can try at least one of everything! The price is great for what you receive, you get your money's worth for sure

I am from Hong Kong and my local friend recommend this restaurant to me as he mentioned that this is super native food in The Hague and even Holland’s minister always go here. Food was amazing and people were super nice there. Price is super reasonable will visit again next time.

What a wonderful atmosphere! Nineteenth century. It was a tight entrance and the toilet upstairs was not very convenient for someone with mobility problems. The restaurant was full, but the wall cladding prevents it from becoming a chicken coop. Very good attentive service. Delicious food, but could use a little spicier. The missing fifth 🌟 is purely based on taste. If you eat here, just indicate that you like/don't like spicy food. The amount of food is just fine, otherwise you can order more. Had a great evening!

We did a reservation the day of and glad we did because past 7:15 pm it was all booked. There are so many choice on the menu but we went with the Rijsttafel "Poentjak". This was our first time order this experience and it was really nice. One by one all the food came out and sat in a hot metal box that was heated with candle. The food was: Nasi Putih & Nasi Goreng (Rice), Krupuk (Prawn Crackers), Serundeng (Coconut with Peanut), Ikan Teri (Dried Fish), Atjar (Pickles), Gado Gado (Vegetables in Peanut Sauce), Rudjak Manis (Mix Fruits), Babi Ritja (Pork Meat), Daging Besengek (Beef), Sambal Goreng Ari Ajam (Chicken Liver), Sate (Satay in Peanut Sauce), Ajam (Chicken), Sambal Goreng Telor (Eggs), Tumis Sajuran (Mix Wok Vegetables), Sajur Lodeh (Vegetables in Coconut Sauce), Sambal Goreng Rebung (Bamboo Shoot), Sambal (Chili). The service was really good, the employees check on us a lot to see if everything was ok which was really nice. My favorite was the Daging Besengek (Beef) and the Sambal Goreng Telor (Eggs). Nice restaurant!

Good rice table for a reasonable price €28.50. Somewhat worn, dated interior that evokes the atmosphere of an old Indian restaurant. Something needs to be done at the entrance with a cramped revolving door and cloakroom! Friendly, cheerful service. Definitely going to eat there again.

The most original Indonesian restaurant I have been in The Hague! We had the rijstafel menu “Speciaal”. Very tasty lamp and chicken satay, aromatic fried rice and plenty of other small dishes to try from slow cooked beef, to chicken liver and chicken with coconut oil and grilled vegetables. Very big variety of dishes in very good quality and price! I totally recommend it. When you enter this restaurant you feel like you are transferred in another era because of its special atmosphere and old decoration!

Our group of 7 had a very enjoyable dinner here. Located in a beautiful building with a pretty dark wooden interior, this restaurant has excellent Indonesian cuisine (various rijsttafel options, including vegetarian) and attentive personnel who advised and cared for us very well. There are lots of cozy corners, and we were seated in the front with a view of the Hague's hustle and bustle outside. A wonderful experience!
