The selection of dim sum is enormous. All the dishes tasted fantastic. We had steamed and fried dim sum, babi pangan, sweet and sour pork, and fried bananas. Once again, we were very satisfied. Dim sum lovers will find a wide selection at this restaurant. We ordered steamed and fried dim sum, sieuw yuk (crispy fried pork belly), and mixed vegetables. As always, the dishes were delicious. The staff was very attentive. We always enjoy coming back.

It would be a real shame if this one disappeared as well.

Truly always quality, whether it's the dim sum, the noodle soup, or our favorite, lam yau kai! Truly the best Chinese food in The Hague!

We (3) came for dinner. We had a small starter, a soft drink and a main meal. The food was nice and tasty, the portions are good. We decided not to go for dessert. We paid 50euro pp and to be honest, find that to expensive for what it was and i will not go again.

I usually go here with the children; the price-quality ratio is very good, large platters of delicious food that you can also share because of the quantity, a beautiful place that doesn't usually look like a standard Chinese restaurant, a great small selection of steamed or baked/fried dim sum. Perfect for a light eater like myself, super friendly service that gives a lot of attention and time to the guests and also works incredibly hard.

It was taken away; strangely enough, the food tasted better two days later than on the day.

I randomly came here to order something for my family to take away. I was greeted warmly and escorted to the takeaway counter. The people behind the counter were helpful and pleasant. I received the containers, neatly packed. At home, we thoroughly enjoyed the food. Everything was delicious! We will definitely be ordering here more often.

The food was delicious, but the lady who served us admitted she couldn't read our minds after bringing the wrong dish. We've been guests there for 40 years, but the service has really gone beyond the pale in my opinion.

Good Chinese in the Statenkwartier

It's wonderful when a good restaurant stays the same! Delicious and straightforward. Hardly anything has changed in the past 40 years. You know what to expect, and that's nice. We go there for the dim sum after a shopping spree at Frederiksplein or a visit to the Kunstmuseum or photography museum. Predictability can be a real bonus sometimes!

Neither of us found it very tasty. We had bami and nasi Ramses. The menu is very extensive, which is actually not such a good sign; the dishes were not fresh. After ordering, it was on the table within 5 minutes. The bami was not properly heated. Disappointing flavors and also quite pricey for what was served.

I've been going there for over half my life, and they're still so sweet!!!! And the food is simply delicious!

This has been my family's go-to Chinese restaurant in The Hague for years — we absolutely love it! My personal favorite is the noodle soup with wonton and char siu — so comforting and full of flavor. We always order the chicken satay (perfectly grilled and rich in peanut sauce) and never skip dessert — the fried banana cake is a must-have! Delicious food, cozy atmosphere, and consistently great service. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic, heartwarming Chinese food. 🍜🍢🍌

The food was surprisingly delicious. The atmosphere inside was also nice, but the waiters all had stern faces towards customers with Chinese faces, without a single smile, as if saying an extra word would be a waste of their lives.

Frozen meals at your own risk The menu consists largely of frozen ingredients, especially on the lunch menu. The bao still had a piece of paper wrapping stuck to it. When I pointed this out to the server, I was told that's the risk of a frozen bao: "Most people know there's a piece of wrapping." That's indeed correct, but I think if you're paying for frozen food, the wrapping should at least have been properly removed. The argument that the wrapping is there to prevent it from sticking was also incorrect, because the steamer basket in which the bao was served already contained a piece of wrapping. In fact, because the wrapping was still there, it was practically integrated into the food. In other words: this owner is more integrated than the wrapping in the bao, because this food is more Dutch than truly Asian.

Every year, we celebrate Grandpa's birthday with a Dim Sum lunch at Walong. Little kids grow up, partners join in, and travel time gets longer for the oldest, but traditions are meant to be upheld 🎏🧧🪭

Lunch A and B were served outside on the terrace in the sun, with a glass of wine. We thoroughly enjoyed it right in the middle of Fred.

Went to eat here again after a long time. I remembered that I had a delicious meal last time. I don't know what happened in the meantime (about 3 years), but I didn't recognize Walong anymore. The food had almost no taste, was served lukewarm, and the prices were sky-high. They should remove the word 'Indisch' from 'Chinese Indisch' restaurant; we ordered pangsit (chicken in puff pastry, among other things), but received fried puff pastry without any filling and/or flavor whatsoever. There is nothing Indisch about their food! The service itself was okay, but – just like the food – it could have been more distinctive. In any case, we won't be coming back here.

Normally I eat very well at Walong, but this time it was disappointing. Two colleagues ordered number 165, which is also shown as a picture on the website (see first image), but the chicken was barely cooked; it was so pale and tasteless (see second photo) it was just like soup. Two colleagues were very disappointed.

We ordered food for our mother's 89th birthday. The food was lukewarm and bad. The spring rolls were rancid. The satay in the Nasi and Bami rames was tough, and the beef dishes in the rames were tasteless and tough. I have no idea what else I encountered in the meal, but it was rubbery and indefinable. The Babi Pangang was okay. Furthermore, the nasi, Chinese vermicelli, and bami were lukewarm, just like the pisang goreng. The only thing that was actually tasty was the Babi Spek, but that is also good cold.

Just lunch, very extensive menu, everything is possible. Delicious small wonton soup, satay ajam and pisang goreng. Beer, espresso afterwards. You sit outside. Recommended..

Atmosphere only 4 stars because renovations were taking place.

Ordered nasi rames. The order was fast. Rendang, babi ketjap and spicy egg are very tasty. The vegetable on the menu is Sajoer Lodeh (vegetables in coconut). I got other vegetables without flavor with tofu. I also did not receive the sambal goreng Tempeh. For nasi I got Chinese nasi (white rice with ham) instead of Indonesian nasi. Was expecting spicy fried rice at Rames.

You may sit outside along the Fred when the weather is nice. The food is okish

I didn't know about the restaurant for a long time, which was because I had had a particular favorite Chinese-Indonesian restaurant in The Hague for many years. When it was surprisingly closed, I accidentally discovered Walong on Frederik Hendriklaan. On our first visit we ordered a combination of Babi Pangang, Tjap Tjoy and Sate as well as fried prawns with vegetables and cashews. There was actually nothing wrong with either dish. They tasted okay, but not great either. The same was true with the service. You can't really complain here either. Everything went correctly. Food and drinks, even those ordered later, were served quickly. The service staff were not unfriendly, but very distant. The price-performance ratio is good. And the ambience is also appealing. Conclusion: We had a nice evening, but the “wow” effect was missing. Nevertheless, I would definitely visit Walong again.

Always top Walong. Food prepared with care. I think it's normal if you ask for a doggy bag.

FOOD POISONING SUCCEEDED. After eating here I was in the hospital with food poisoning. Severe stabbing pains in the stomach and vomiting. I don't recommend eating here.

This used to be one of the most popular and best restaurants in the city in the 21 years I lived in The Hague till 2021. Just had dinner there with family at 7 (they close at 9 p.m. on Saturdays!). After being totally ignored for 35 minutes I literally pulled a waiter by the sleeve to place an order of drinks and food. We got our dinner but had to beg them to bring the drinks belatedly. Zero reaction to guests’ comments or complaints, like you’re talking to a brick wall. It’s a shame how it deteriorated. Was one of our favourite places but after tonight we’ll never go there again.

I've never been to an Indonesian restaurant. I came because of the dim sum, which was heavily advertised in the reviews. I love dim sum and was not disappointed. For the main course, the menu completely overwhelmed me, I probably should have prepared it a bit. So I decided on something that said combination. Then came a combination of different pieces of poultry. Everything very tasty and with crispy skin. However, the dish was too dry for my taste (not the meat) and I didn't like it without any vegetables. But maybe that's exactly how I ordered it.

A late dinner at Walong as we fancied Asian food. Dim sum and Hot and Sour soup were good choices! The staff are very helpful and service is fast. There is a lot of choice on the Menu, Chinese recipes for all tastes.

Beetje hip ingericht Chinees Indonesisch restaurant. Heb er Peking eend gegeten, vlees was heerlijk mals maar de huid was niet echt knapperig gebakken wat toch wel hoort bij Peking eend.

Wellicht heb ik net de verkeerde dingen besteld, maar ik heb niet zo smakelijk gegeten bij Walong. Ik had vooraf verschillende gestoomde dimsum gekozen, dus een mandje met 5 soorten dimsum. Een beetje op de gok, je weet niet wat je krijgt. 4 van de 5 hapjes bevatte garnalen en 1 broodje was volgens mij met varkensvlees. Een soort bapao broodje. Ik had iets meer afwisseling willen zien in de soorten hapjes. Ook zaten er stukjes bot in het varkensvleesgerechtje. De hete sauzen erbij waren niet erg lekker. Ik miste zoetzure. saus of soja. Hoofdgerecht was een noodlesoup met beefballetjes en bok choi geloof ik. De groente was erg smaakvol en vers maar de soep zelf vond ik erg saai en niet zo lekker. De noodles smaakte en roken wat verouderd en waren ook vrij hard. De beefballetjes leken wel van smac gemaakt ofzoiets, van dat nepvlees. Het waren er heel wat en ook vond ik ze erg groot van stuk, dus lastig eten. De verhoudingen klopte niet voor mijn gevoel, de smaak van sesamolie overheerste in de bouiilion. Ik moest 34 euro afrekenen en vond dit teveel voor wat ik gegeten heb. De kwaliteit/prijs verhouding klopt niet. Zo’n soep is zn prijs niet waard. Wijn en thee vond ik ook niet erg lekker. De groene thee word heel bitter na 3 kopjes uit het potje. De wijn was goedkoop maar duur. Personeel is beleefd maar erg afstandelijk. Ambiance is gezellig. Het was erg druk tijdens de lunch, dus een goed teken. Maar ik ga helaas niet meer terug.

Super, super, super! Ik haal hier vaak af en vandaag gingen we ter plaatse eten. Het personeel is zo vriendelijk en aardig. Het eten is super lekker, echt een aanrader als je lekker Chinees of Indonesisch wilt eten!!! De combinatie dim Sum met gestoomde en gefrituurde dim Sum vind ik zelf het allerlekkerst, je krijgt dan van alles wat!
