Thank you for taking the time to respond. Unfortunately, your response reinforces the concerns raised in my review rather than addressing them. The choice of words such as “you could have just left it” and comments about the packed food come across as derogatory, dismissive and unnecessarily confrontational towards a paying customer who simply shared their experience. No restaurant is perfect, and every business receives both positive and negative feedback. The difference lies in how that feedback is received. Constructive criticism should be viewed as an opportunity to improve rather than something to defend against. Regarding the waiting time, the fact that there were only two people serving and cooking is understandable from an operational perspective, but it should not become the customer’s responsibility. Customers pay the prices listed on the menu with the expectation of receiving a reasonable level of service. If staffing limitations result in significantly extended waiting times, it is fair for customers to mention that in their reviews. As for the food itself, my comments were based solely on my personal dining experience. Taste is subjective, and I fully respect that other guests may have enjoyed their meals. However, that does not invalidate my experience any more than my experience invalidates theirs. I genuinely wish you improve your service for future customers ! — Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. To begin with, our food was served more than 1.5 hours after placing the order, which is an exceptionally long waiting time. Unfortunately, the quality of the food did not justify the delay. Several dishes lacked flavor, the tofu was heavily overloaded with what tasted like a generic supermarket-style satay sauce, and even the beans were poorly prepared and unappetizing. Overall, the meal fell well below expectations in terms of both taste and quality. If you are dining with young children who may struggle with such long waiting times, or if you value your time after a busy workday, you may want to consider other dining options.

All the dishes were fresh, incredibly flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. You could taste that everything was prepared with great care and passion. In addition, I had a Soda Gembira, which was wonderfully refreshing and perfect as a drink to accompany the meal. A really nice and tasty addition to the meal! The service was also very friendly, attentive, and hospitable, making us feel welcome immediately. The warm and cozy atmosphere made the evening complete. If you are looking for authentic Indonesian food in Eindhoven, Djawa is absolutely highly recommended. The rijsttafel and the Soda Gembira were amazing. We will definitely be back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Djawa is a small, home-style restaurant where you simply can't miss the rijsttafels. Once again, a table full of delicious Indonesian dishes, well-seasoned and nice and spicy (pedis)! The tjendol was delicious too!

Delicious and diverse food prepared in an authentic way and full of flavor. Friendly staff and you can eat at your leisure. Small and cozy setting with tables that can be pushed together depending on the group size.

We ate here on Sunday, March 29th. We ordered an Istimewa rijsttafel for two people. The friendly waitress first brought us delicious soup, followed by three types of tasty satay skewers. Then the table was filled with lots of delicious small dishes. We had a wonderful meal, but couldn't finish everything. The leftovers were then given to us to take home in convenient containers by the waitress. It was a successful evening, and the next day we still enjoyed the portion we had taken home!!

We ate there twice within a week. The first time with a group of friends. Because we enjoyed it so much, my wife and I went back again a week later. They also have a wide selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes.

Tucked away on a quiet, peaceful street, this spot offers an incredibly warm and cozy atmosphere that makes you feel at home instantly. The food is authentically Indonesian.I was especially impressed by the elaborate menu—there are so many great options to choose from! Excellent value for money and a wonderful overall experience. Fantastic authentic family restaurant! We ate here last week for my boyfriend's birthday. We ordered a delicious rijsttafel (rice table) for two. Even though we're big eaters, we couldn't finish it all, but the staff kindly packed it up. The owner had even prepared a small treat for my boyfriend's birthday upon request. We had a chat with her afterward; the people were super friendly and definitely worth the money!

What a wonderful and honest Indonesian restaurant! We had a delicious rijsttafel here and were glad we reserved a table on Monday evening because the place was absolutely packed! And that says something, I think, because people come for the quality, even on a day of the week when many restaurants are closed. Excellent restaurant, not many tables, frequented by locals

We ordered Rice tables for our parents 50 years marriage anniversary. But unfortunately 2 x vegetable dishes were missing. They said it was for 3 persons but that wasn't . We had a picture of the rice table for 1 person and there was the same vegetables portion for 1 person , not 3

It almost feels like stepping into an Indonesian museum. And it has a real living room vibe. They play Tetris with the tables so everything fits perfectly! We opted for the most extensive rijsttafel (rice table) so we could try as many dishes as possible. Our Dutch grandfather sometimes blushed from the spicy food, but he held his own. For us, well-trained global eaters, it was perfectly manageable! We had a delicious meal and enjoyed a full evening of entertainment. I should also mention that the service was excellent and the people were welcoming. I lost my ring, which I only realized when I got home. And they did everything they could to find it. Apparently, I threw it in the toilet. Don't ask me why. I didn't notice. But I am eternally grateful!

Tongseng kambing; I will try it next time..... We had a vegetarian rice table and a 'meat' rice table, supplemented with a satay of kambing and it was very tasty. I had a dish with 'potato' for the first time (ever); unfortunately I did not find it a supplement. The liver was tasty - I should do it more often. More than enough - unfortunately nothing left for a 'doggy-bag'. I wish you a nice holiday 🥳 and thank you for the delicious food.

Beautiful decor, peacuful music, no QR codes but real service instead. The server was very kind. Large menu with starters, meals and separate items. We tried about 10 dishes, all very good, especially anything with chicken. Ayam satai was exceptional, ayam panggang was great too. Our table cloth was rather dirty on arrival, the server wasn't forward with offering drinks, a main course, or the bill after taking all our plates, but I'm not sure whether to care about that too much. Definitely would visit again.

This Indonesian restaurant in the old Philips neighbourhood Strijp. The restaurant is rather small (about 6 tables) so reservation is recommended. The food is ok but rather flat. I like it a bit more spicey. The presentation is awesome and the staf is great. Prices are fair.

On advice, I ordered food here to try. I should have done this much earlier. The food is so delicious here. So much flavor. The meat is butter tender. Everything just looks incredibly well cared for. The young lady who brought the food to my house was also very friendly. I'm sure I will order here more often. And everything was packaged separately instead of everything mixed together and on top of each other like I recently had at another restaurant.

Vandaag voor het eerst een Makanan Vegetaris gehaald bij dit restaurant. Het eten was minder sterk gekruid dan ik gewend ben. Echter overheerlijk en zeker voor herhaling vatbaar! Het smaakte vers en voor een 1-persoons schotel heb ik behoorlijk wat gekregen. Zeker 2x eten van deze rijsttafel! Een absolute aanrader vind ik!!!

Das Restaurant ist eher klein, hat etwa Platz für 36 Personen, ist nett eingerichtet. Die Bedienung ist freundlich, sehr sachlich und rücksichtsvoll. Das Essen ist sehr lecker, das lohnt sich sehr!!!

The best Indonesian rice table in the country as far as I'm concerned. Everything is super fresh and super tasty. Try the pangsit in advance and the three types of satay, each with its own sauce and just take the largest rice table. What a party!

Heerlijk uitgebreid gegeten. Zeer vriendelijke bediening. Huiselijke aankleding. Kortom zeker een aanrader. Het zit hier bijna altijd vol . Reserveren vaak daarom noodzakelijk. Veel terugkerende klanten dat wil wat zeggen.

It had been a long time since we had gone to an Indonesian restaurant. We had not yet discovered Djawa in Eindhoven Strijp. It is a charming restaurant with extremely friendly service. The dishes are a feast for the nose and the tongue! You can order both rice table and individual dishes. The price is on the higher side, but this is made up for by the quality and service!

Restaurant Djawa kennen wij al sinds midden jaren '80. Vrijdagavond, 03 november 2023, daar uitgebreid gegeten en de smaak is immer hetzelfde, chapeau! Wij komen terug!!!!!

Heel heerlijk vegetarische rijstwafel vegan is ook mogelijk. Ook met vervelende kinderen was het leuk. Ze vonden het ook heel lekker.

Heerlijke rijsttafels en gerechten in 'de huiskamer' van restaurant Djawa. Zowel bij eten in het restaurant als bij afhalen altijd goed. En niet te vergeten, zeer vriendelijke bediening.

Heerlijke rijsttafel gegeten in de huiskamer bij Djawa. De ambiance en sfeer is geweldig in deze huiskamer waar het restaurant gevestigd is. Rijsttafel was heerlijk en uitgebreid. Je moet geen haast hebben om hier te gaan eten want het duurt allemaal net even iets langer allemaal. Tip; neem een post huisgemaakte sambal oelek mee voor 4 euro! Lekker!
