Ate at Oktoberfest 2026. It was great, friendly staff, and we got the table we requested so we had a view of the fair on the market square 😃👍

As usual, we had another delicious meal in a pleasant atmosphere and with excellent service from the staff at Dods. Always a treat!

The food tastes delicious. However, the scampi salad was on the small side. Especially for that price, you get a generous portion elsewhere at the market. There was also very little avocado. A shame, I would have liked some more.

Our first experience. We went here for food and drinks following a tip. Cozy place, great atmosphere, and good food. Friendly staff. The price was also fine. Highly recommended!

Good food. The service was less attentive to empty glasses or when an order could be taken. There is a lot of smoking under the canopy. If the terrace on the market itself is open, a smoke-free zone outside would be easy and highly desirable! Smokers do not fully realize how annoying the nuisance is, especially when you are eating. And non-smokers also like to sit outside.

We enjoyed ourselves so much here! It's a shame it's not in our hometown. But then again, we'd be bankrupt in no time.

I come here often and the food is always very tasty! The atmosphere is always good. However, perhaps a tip for the kitchen: the portions of pasta and baby calamari are always different, sometimes smaller than other times. And the tiramisu is really mega delicious!! Highly recommended for a meal here, or just for a nice drink (maybe with a snack on the side).

A while ago, a group of friends and I were invited to DODS in Sittard. We were received with incredible hospitality and treated to all kinds of delicious delicacies. Everything was flavorful, well-presented, and displayed with visible pleasure. You can tell from everything how much attention and enthusiasm goes into this establishment. Combined with the cozy atmosphere and personal attention, we had a wonderful afternoon there. DODS is without a doubt a top-notch establishment where quality, coziness, and genuine hospitality come together. Highly recommended!

Waitress walks across the terrace. After 10 minutes still haven't been offered a drink or a menu. (It's not busy, by the way.) New people arrive on the terrace. They are served immediately. Waiting to see if we will be served. Hand raised is seen by the waitress. Then walks away again. When she walks away, I walk away too 👋

Very unfriendly and poor service!! This place doesn't know how to treat customers. A few months ago, we came in for drinks with a group. We were inside for two hours, and literally only once did someone come over to ask what we wanted to drink. I then went to staff members myself several times to order/argue, and eventually, after an hour (no lie), we received the majority of our order. We then had to wait another twenty minutes for the rest. The staff kept pointing fingers at each other. On top of that, the bill turned out to be incorrect! It's a good thing the music was decent, otherwise we would have left long ago. And then another unpleasant experience: It was my wife's birthday recently. She called to reserve a table. This was confirmed over the phone by the young man on the other end. Unfortunately, we did not receive a confirmation email, despite her request. We were later told that they were too busy to email back. On the day itself, my wife was running a bit late, so I called to let them know they would be arriving about half an hour later. I stated that I was calling regarding my wife's reservation (I gave her name again). The girl on the other end of the phone indicated that it would not be a problem. When my wife arrived with her friends, there was no one to greet them. She had to ask herself if they could already take a seat at the table she had reserved (which had been occupied two minutes earlier). The man in question suddenly said that nothing was reserved and that they didn't do that, in a very unpleasant and arrogant tone. When my wife asked for the manager, he indicated that he was the manager himself. He showed absolutely no compassion and gave no indication whatsoever that he wanted to help the ladies even a little bit with a possible solution. If this is how you treat people, then you don't deserve to run a business; what a disgrace! Afterwards, he did respond to messages (by another lady), in which everything was subsequently denied and blamed back on the customer. That is even sadder than the whole incident. My wife's birthday evening was ruined in any case, thanks to DODS: shame on you! In any case, we and our friends are never coming back!

Nice restaurant with good food!

UPDATE: They keep bringing up all sorts of excuses to prove they are right; it is regrettable. The customer is being portrayed as a liar. We only received a response at the moment a review was submitted. No one was willing to speak to us properly or respond before that. Both my partner and I can confirm that agreement was indeed given over the phone that we, 6 or 7 ladies, could sit at the oval table in the conservatory. I asked specific questions about this and also indicated that we would be having something to eat. This was important because of my birthday party. If I had known this, I would never have bothered to arrange all of this. I spoke to one person, and my partner (when he called politely to report that we were half an hour late) spoke to a lady. No one told us that there was NO reservation or that this was impossible. Upon arrival, no one paid any attention to us, and we were spoken to in a very unfriendly and even hostile manner. So, none of their story about making amends is true. No alternative was offered. We had to go somewhere else, and after these unpleasant experiences, that is exactly what we wanted! Since I can no longer reply, here is my response to their message. -------------------------------------- People, please read the reviews from the last few months carefully: forewarned is forearmed. I can't give 0 stars, but what a worthless place this is! Do you want good service, tasty food, friendly and reliable staff, and a correct bill? Then stay away from HERE! I tried this place three times and every time something was wrong. The place is "run" by young guys who do NOT acknowledge you as a customer; everyone acts like a "manager." Orders are incorrect or simply don't arrive, the food is substandard, and the service is very poor. I heard this from others as well. The last time was the final straw, and we will never set foot inside this lousy place that doesn't acknowledge the customer again. Made a reservation by phone in advance (3 days) for a birthday party with drinks & bites (specifically asked for the kitchen) for 7 ladies. Difficult to reach, but eventually succeeded and a promise was made. Asked for confirmation, didn't receive it. Emailed and asked for written confirmation. Didn't get it again. Eventually arrived on the day in question with the ladies, stood waiting inside for 10 minutes before anyone paid us a second glance. No one took action and no one seemed to know anything about a reservation. Empty tables and a strange crowd in the evening, by the way. Then a nonchalant "macho" waiter came over to say that there was no reservation (and that was that!). I pointed out that I had called several times, that it was my birthday, and that we were supposed to get the large table in the conservatory. The gentleman responded cynically and curtly that he had no reservation. When I pressed him on this, I was told that he had told me over the phone that he wouldn't reserve a spot for drinks (?!), called me a liar, and when I asked if I could speak to the manager, I received the answer: "And who do you think you are speaking to now?!" Absolutely no understanding or respect, no solution, we were stared out the door. Very hostile, even. Never experienced anything like this! I have proof of my conversations and emails, but he didn't care. There went our "party," and there we all stood. Apparently, this place doesn't consider customer friendliness and service important. Careless behavior from the waiters. We've had and heard about unpleasant experiences before, but this was the last straw for us. We will never come here again. If you treat customers like this, you don't deserve to run a business! P.S. Fortunately, we were warmly welcomed across the street and were able to go there, so not everything fell through.

Cozy terrace and delicious food. (Unfortunately, only a few craft beers.) Varied menu.

The terrace was cool and well-ventilated, which is what prompted us to sit there to escape the sun and heat. Inside, the music was loud, making conversation impossible, so we stayed on the terrace. The staff was very friendly, but the dish I ordered (eggplant parmigiana) was absolutely inedible: the eggplant was raw! We pointed out the problem to the waitresses, who told us they would inform the kitchen. There was no response, no alternative offered, no compensation, and we had to pay for this inedible dish! Furthermore, the cheese used was not Parmesan, as indicated on the menu, but probably mozzarella. I have a lactose intolerance, so be careful! You can't just substitute one ingredient for another without informing the customer. My neighbor ordered a pizza and didn't finish it… In short, definitely don't eat here!

As a restaurateur, I always pay attention to the details that create the atmosphere and hospitality. Atmosphere and Service: Unfortunately, it's very stuffy inside (there's neither air conditioning nor fans), which is why we had to sit on the terrace. However, the staff regularly lose eye contact with the guests there. The golden rule of service – keeping an eye on the table – is only sporadically implemented; you practically have to search for the staff. Bar: It's a serious service error to serve water glasses with ice and lemon without asking. Adding ice to every glass without prior consultation is a faux pas – after all, a guest might have sensitive teeth or health conditions. The sangria also had far too much alcohol: this drink should be refreshing, not literally overpowering with an unbalanced recipe. Food: The bruschetta were good as usual; it's hard to ruin them. But the pizza was an absolute disaster. One had the unmistakable feeling of being served a cheap, ready-made product from the supermarket freezer, which had also been poorly and unevenly reheated and was almost cold. A guest always senses disrespect through the food. Selling a frozen product as a restaurant dish is absolutely unacceptable. I hope management takes action and invests in staff training.

Had a tasty meal, service terrible

First of all, the reservation. We had reserved a table on the inner terrace, but there was no room when we arrived, so we looked for another table (the young man did his best); we were assigned a table with a terribly uncomfortable bench, then moved to another table right next to the bike path! At one point, I didn't feel comfortable there! Then the food; it was lukewarm and soon got cold! The waiter offered me a drink on the house as an apology. Nice gesture!

Music a bit loud at times and sometimes we had to wait a long time for service, while we were asked countless times in the first few minutes but were still spelling out the menu. Had a good meal and nice atmosphere!

Went here for a cocktail. The Pornstar Martini was very small. And that for €12.50 is a shame, because other places have bigger cocktails. The atmosphere is good though, and the staff is friendly.

Have often gone there for food and drinks. Large and tasty selection to choose from. The new pizzas are also very tasty!

Great food, great drinks & super top staff and always a good time

The service was abysmal. I asked the waiter if he'd be right there. After he walked past us six more times, I asked again if we could order something. At that point, he acted like a fool. A missed opportunity, so I left, but whatever, there are plenty of others who'll put up with being treated like that.

We went out to eat with 7 people and I had a lukewarm pizza taco; I have rarely eaten such a tasteless piece of cardboard. I mentioned it and the only answer was that it was a traditional recipe. We arrived at 6:30 PM and the first course (some sort of platter of appetizers) arrived at 8:00 PM, even though we had ordered immediately upon entering. The drinks also took a very long time each time, and the main course arrived at 9:30 PM. For us, once is enough, never again.

Despite the crowds, the service was quick and friendly. The food was tasty. We had reserved a table on the first floor because there were no other options left. However, on the waiter's recommendation, we were still able to take a seat on the terrace in the sunshine.

We had a delicious meal. Highly recommended. I come here often with my son; today I brought my husband along. He was also impressed. We ordered pizza & crispy chicken. The service is also very friendly & attentive.

The sandwich was well prepared; the meat and vegetables were not overcooked, perhaps slightly less grated cheese. I would prefer the music to be turned down a notch; it was too overpowering. The service was adequate, and the time between ordering and being served at the table is generally sufficient as well.

Excellent burgers and fries. Nothing healthy. Fast food with lots of sauce options, but as is usual in Europe, all extra sauces cost.

Cozy location, delicious food and super friendly staff

We came here for the second time with a 2.5-month break in between, and the waiter still remembered exactly what we were drinking. Food takes a while to be served, but that is understandable given how busy it is. The wait is therefore really worth it. The starter was superb, the main course truly delicious, and the dessert also really top-notch. The atmosphere is amazing. The service is cheerful, driven, and truly excellent. See you again next time!!

The food was delicious as always. The service was poor this time. The lady who helped us was curt, and we had to call her over after a long wait before she came to take the next order (all small dishes). The wrong dish was also delivered twice, and the receipt also had the wrong dish on it, so she didn't fill it out correctly. A shame, because this made our evening less enjoyable.

The food was good, but the service was unfortunately very slow and forgot a few things. It was very noisy for part of the evening.

We went for dinner on Wednesday, January 28th, with five people. We made a reservation online and requested a low table in the (heated) conservatory, and that request was duly honored. However, that evening it was very cold, and despite all the heaters scattered throughout the conservatory, it was a bit chilly. The sofa seat is half open, causing a cold draft from the wall (there was a kind of hole in the wall through which a cable came). We hung our coats over the armrest and later even leaned them against our backs. The table next to us had finished earlier, and we asked to switch tables. That wasn't a problem, and the draft was somewhat less there, but still there. It's certainly nice to have guests coming in, but because the door kept opening and people sometimes forgot to close it, the cold air came in even more. The service was otherwise friendly and efficient. The food looked delicious and tasted great: (spinach lasagna, two spare ribs, pizza taco, and chicken parmesan). We'd love to come back, but in slightly warmer weather ;-)

We had the DODS platter as a starter, which was fine, but the olives weren't good. For the main course, two people had the scampi pizza. It didn't taste like pizza, and we didn't like it. The spare ribs and the lobster pasta were fine. The service was friendly.

Good and friendly staff. I found my pizza taco completely tasteless. The pizza wasn't bad, but the taco meat wasn't seasoned and was therefore as flavorless as the pizza crust. The appetizer and dessert were very good, though.

Good and affordable food. Nice atmosphere. If you want a more extensive meal, you should definitely sit upstairs; downstairs quickly creates a very cozy café atmosphere. A downside for me is that dogs were allowed upstairs (small dog in this case).

Christmas Eve. Fantastic evening. Warm, cozy atmosphere, delicious food. Choice of Christmas menu and/or à la carte. And we had a very friendly hostess/waitress. And affordable.

We were seated at a table that was too high and stools that were too low, making it uncomfortable to sit while eating. The door also kept opening and closing, making it very cold. The staff turned up the heat, but this didn't really solve the problem. They were helpful and friendly, though. Overall, we had a wonderful Christmas Eve!

I had reserved a table in the heated conservatory, but I forgot that it's mostly high tables, which I don't like. That wasn't a problem; they immediately moved me to a low table inside, and there was no fuss at all. Unfortunately, I've encountered this differently in other establishments. The food and the atmosphere was perfect, but the servers was coming around my empty drink 8x and in the meantime they serve everybody just not me, sitting in the inside on they’re phones doing nothing when they see that they’re customers have empty drinks. Maybe because I’m not speaking they’re language. But only because of the servers I will not come ever again. For this price I expected a little bit Moore.

We had to wait a long time, and the food wasn't good (the pasta was dry and the steak pieces were overcooked). We definitely won't be returning.

There was a young lady working, she was very pleasant. But the young man... No attention to detail or service. Mozzarella sticks cold, fries cold! Smash burger fine, but not for €25. Club sandwich very meager. Cheapest toasted bread. Goat cheese sandwich was good, though. The food is completely out of proportion to the price. Crazy expensive for the quality. Tables seated after us got their food, drinks, and even the option to place an order first. Agreed, but not again.

The restaurant's decor is magical. I was there with my family on Saturday, August 30, 2025, and ordered three pizzas and a panini. Well, although the panini looked great, the Italians should sue them for their pizza! Their pizza is simply pizza toppings arranged on a tortilla wrap

The food was delicious! But personally, I thought it took too long to get our food. It took almost two hours between sitting down and the main course. And after the main course was finished, it took ages for the deposits to be collected or for us to be asked if we wanted anything else to drink. Because of that, we decided not to have dessert because it was taking so long.

Dods Bodega restaurant in Sittard is a very large pizza, but tasty. Plenty of seating. It's the place to be.

Overall, terrible! Upon arrival, it took far too long for the host in question to come and take his drink order. The women on the terrace piqued his interest more! The time between ordering and being served was far too long (and it certainly wasn't rush hour). The pasta with so-called tiger prawns was actually a mouse-sized amount of dry, tasteless pasta. The so-called tiger prawns were more like crayfish. Very poor for €26,-, OHDS! My wife had spare ribs, which were excellent, that much must be said! When paying, your host, who was so charming, asked if I wanted to pay by card or cash. After indicating that I wanted to pay by card, a card machine was shoved in my face with the message "€90,-"... no further boo or bah, and no receipt! I asked your host for the receipt first, which I think is the polite thing to do so that you know what you're paying for. After I was given this receipt, I couldn't be more spontaneous, because, well... the gentleman obviously didn't get a tip for his hospitable and friendly behavior! Tip... adopt a more hospitable and interested attitude... no more DODS for us!

'Rowing with the oars you have', they say... Well, you'd better leave these 'oars' on shore - then paddle with your own hands... Had to wait a long time for drinks, not getting a menu when you ask for one, unfriendly, inattentive, antisocial-sighing and (even) eye-rolling service... No, once and (unfortunately) never again... Too bad, because the terrace is nice...

Leuk en gezellig aangekleed terras. Ondanks de toch ietwat toeristisch en centraal gelegen ligging zijn de prijzen niee astronomisch. Wij hebben hier genoten van de allerlekkerste nachos die wij ooit geserveerd hebben gekregen.

Het eten is oké maar sommige hoofdgerechten stijgen 30% in prijs terwijl kwaliteit minder goed is. Ik begrijp dat een verbouwing betaald moet worden maar dit klopt niet meer. En ik vind het echt jammer

het was super lekker we hebben twee spaghetti carbonara en een pizza speciaal. En nog een pizza het duurde best lang en daarom heb ik hem vier sterren gegeven ze hadden ook een nieuw systeem. en ze waren binnen wat aan het praten en het duurde lang.

Too bad you don't get nuts or something like that with special beers, that's just part of it. At many restaurants/cafes you get that, even without asking. The prices are accordingly.

Super long wait before we were asked if we wanted something to drink, same with food. They did not listen to our wishes and it took a super long time before we got our food. When it arrived, the wrong order and they said that the mistake was with the customer.

A restaurant with lots of outdoor seating, very friendly staff and a good selection of food and drinks. Everything is freshly prepared and very tasty. The sanitary facilities are currently being renovated.

We order a pizza and a bowl of nachos at 9:00 PM, then at 10:10 PM we ask where he is and we are told that the kitchen is closed. In other words, don't order food here because you will be hit bizarrely hard in the neck, DO NOT ORDER HERE😡😡😡😡
