A very nice spot if the kids want to spend a day in the water. Bring chairs, a parasol, and a cooler full of goodies, and you can spend a whole day by the water. (It can get really super crowded on nice days, though). Water park, nicely conceived.

We had a team-building event and drinks there. We received excellent service; everyone is very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommended!

Great food for a reasonable price.

Last weekend, we went to Down Under in Nieuwegein to celebrate that one of my friends is about to become a father. We were a group of 12 and enjoyed footgolf, beach volleyball, and the water park. Afterwards, we rounded off the day with a delicious dinner. A nice quote had been prepared in advance. For a very reasonable price, we were able to arrange all the activities *and* the food. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and always quick to respond whenever we had questions. All in all, we had a great day. Definitely recommended for groups looking for an active and fun outing!

Last week, we had drinks with 20 colleagues and an extensive selection of appetizers. Fantastic atmosphere, and despite the huge crowds, we received excellent service. The appetizers were tasty and varied. Highly recommended!

Nice place and location, but the food is disappointing. I had a club sandwich but it was completely burnt black; I asked for another one and received one, but no apology or any compensation. Not very polite. The previous times I've been here, the toasted sandwich and the steak were also disappointing, unfortunately.

Afternoon lunch with my aunt. Lovely young lady/waitress who served us politely. It is quite noisy outside, probably quieter inside. Nice weather and beautiful location by the water. Food portions were good. Definitely worth it.

Had lunch for the first time. HOW nice is it here! It felt like a holiday. So cozy, such delicious food, friendly service that could have been a bit faster, but we were so comfortable, it didn't matter. Definitely worth repeating!

I was there today with our football team, all 14-year-old teenagers. We were told to shut up; it wasn't fun. We all indeed got three pieces of food: a bitterball, a 1/10 frikandel, and something vague that I still don't know exactly what it was. The manager was very grumpy, while we as parents were really looking forward to throwing a great party, but everyone quickly lost interest and thought: "We're just going home, so we can sort it out ourselves with that fantastic restaurant." Never again. There was one person there who wanted to come by with a company this summer. They won't be doing that for a company outing of around 65 people anymore. They can just forget about those top guys there!

We consider it a disadvantage that you were not reachable by phone, so we could not let you know that we would be arriving later.

The atmosphere is good in a beautiful location, the food perfect as always; I have been there multiple times. I think there was a shortage of staff today. I had to wait almost an hour between the starter and the main course and had to ask about it myself twice, only to be dismissed with an insignificant answer, unfortunately.

I was here only for the outdoor activities, but I can't complain. The explained everything well, showed support and tried to help me during the activities too. Would/will come again.

The Greek salad was generous. Table service was open-minded and good. There was no loud music outside, which made for a more pleasant conversation. Stunning view.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a delicious meal at Down Under last time. The menu is surprising and varied, with beautiful dishes that are truly prepared with care. Everything that was served looked fantastic and tasted just as good. The staff is incredibly friendly and hospitable; you immediately feel welcome and well taken care of. The location completes the picture; it is truly a great place to sit, especially in nice weather. A little tip: have the wine tasted first 😉

I was here with 3 people, really a top spot. First we went bodyboarding, really great, then waterskiing and that was fine, and the water park was really fantastic, you could do whatever you wanted, no strict rules like not jumping off your stomach or anything, and very nice people. Afterwards we had something to eat, lemonade, a bit of a taste of garlic, but the food was super, highly recommended.

Bavette without vegetables and with a meager side of fries. The fish stew was well-filled with fish in itself, but unfortunately, both dishes were served lukewarm. Additionally, we found the sangria to be heavily watered down with water or sparkling water. It was a liter for two people, but to be honest, we hardly noticed it. We asked for an ice cream for a 7-year-old child. The host then pointed out a dessert for €11.50, even though we had already seen that on the menu ourselves. To us, the question was quite clear: a regular ice cream for a child is different from a dessert for €11.50. Unfortunately, the host did not seem to grasp this, or pretended not to understand. We found that very disappointing. For that reason, we did not order cheese, coffee, or anything else. The service could really be better, and we ultimately found the dishes mediocre.

This swimming pool has opening hours that are far too limited. I don't understand why the municipality lets them manage this. Only when the weather is rated 8 and on limited days. In the past, it was actually possible to access the beach when it wasn't open. I thought that was fairer. It is just nature, after all. Normally I get a season pass, but I was able to use it so little last year that I decided to go to another beach further down the road this year. Very poor service!

Nice place! The food is tasty, but not always that warm. The location is nice and you sit wonderfully by the water in the sunshine.

Very cozy place. I think it gets really busy in the summer. But don't order a Rendang sandwich, because it looks and tastes like nothing. I think they should try a Rendang sandwich from Tante Lien on the Oude Gracht in Utrecht sometime, then they'll know what a sandwich like that is supposed to be like.

Had a delicious meal! Perfect fries and amazing satay! Beautiful and convenient location; parking was no problem at all. Service was very professional and efficient! We will definitely be back!

Down Under in Nieuwegein is a nice spot with plenty of parking. The restaurant has a cozy layout, and when the weather is nice, there is a really lovely beach/boho vibe. The service is really excellent: attentive, friendly, and hospitable. You definitely feel welcome here. The food and drinks are fine and fit well with the relaxed atmosphere of the location. All in all, a lovely place to enjoy yourself, especially on a sunny day.

We came for the indoor surfing. Definitely recommended, partly due to the friendly staff and the fun activity. The indoor surf track was extremely loud, though. If you are easily bothered by noise, bring waterproof hearing protection. Earplugs were sold out during my visit, so bring your own.

Exceptionally bad food (2 x Rib Eye). Tough, not medium (partner), no vegetables with any main course, and after sending it back to the kitchen we got the same meat back. Still didn't meet expectations. Could only eat 30 grams out of 250 grams, too tough, partner likewise. Returned everything and left it. Yuck! Ordered an extra salad, uninteresting, pieces of chicken, lettuce, and tomato. Cancelled reservation for the Easter brunch (6 pers.). Waitress (16 or 17 years old?) said she would "pass it on" to the cook. Haven't heard from them since, even though they have my contact details. We won't be having lunch here again either. Bye Down Under! The bill? €130.70 for 2 people.

Unfortunately, I got sick the evening before the activity, and they are not being helpful. A voucher or exchange is not possible. You lose your money immediately. Even 1 star is too much. Thank you.

Down Under is a little piece of Australia in the heart of the city! The food is tasty, the service is friendly, and the ambiance is super cozy. Definitely the place for a nice beer and a burger. Their pulled pork and ribs are a must-try. Worth five stars!

I had a kids' party here for my son's party. Indoor bodyboarding, the kids loved it. It was fantastic from the very first reception! Friendly staff, good explanations and guidance. The instructors are super enthusiastic!

The food was delicious. I don't eat meat, but the Caesar salad was easily adapted. Lovely spot by the water!

We had a really fun and active day at Down Under indoor surfing today. The instructors were great and enthusiastic! After a bet, the boss even showed us a cool trick. We had a great time! Lunch was delicious!

Last Saturday we went indoor surfing here. We had a great time, and the instructors were fantastic!

What a load of rubbish!! I've never felt so unwelcome. Upon arrival, we first had to wait for two employees to finish their conversation, only to then sit at our table for 12 minutes waiting to be helped (not that it was that busy), but the service just didn't come. The person who greeted us walked right past us at least ten times as if we weren't even there... Then a table next to us, who arrived after us, was helped. At that point, we just got up and left, never to return. What unfriendly staff!!

We did an hour of indoor surfing. It was a really fun activity, and we had great instructors. Definitely recommended. We didn't eat there, so I didn't give it any stars.

It's a very nice location by the water, and there's free parking available. The atmosphere is lovely; you can sit outside in the summer. The welcome and service were good, especially the young gentleman who served us; he was polite and attentive. However, I can't say the same about the food. The presentation is nice, but the portions are very small for the price. Bread isn't served with the meals. I ordered an eggplant dish, but the eggplant inside was almost completely undercooked. I liked the ravioli with pumpkin sauce; maybe it would have been tastier with a little Parmasan cheese inside.

Went bodyboarding here for the first time today. €28.50 per person for one hour. Or so you'd think. Nowhere does it say you'll share the lane depending on how busy it is. I checked the terms and conditions and the website. There were 14 (!) of us on one lane. Since only two people were allowed on the lane at a time, we were each on the lane for maybe eight minutes. That's an expensive eight minutes. Had I known this beforehand, we would NEVER have gone there.

Nice spot by the water. The food is good, but the portions are small for the price. Salads are served on small plates without a piece of bread. Friandises are so small you almost choke on them.

Regular visitor for after-work drinks and dinner. Fun place, best with good weather.

We had a wonderful meal with our group of eight. Sitting eight of us at a round table was lovely. The previous decor felt more cheerful and relaxed, but the current interior is a bit duller.

Had dinner here with a team. A great concept with shared food. You choose from a variety of dishes to enjoy together. But "regular" individual dishes are also available. Friendly service in an environment that's a mix of Scandinavian and beach club. Highly recommended.

What a surprisingly good experience! Delicious food, very attentive service, and a simple atmosphere. We had several special requests, and each time they were handled very courteously and adequately. Everything was done with a smile, correctly, yet relaxed. The food was delicious and well-balanced, and there's a special menu for allergies.

My son unfortunately broke his arm before the planned birthday party. They were friendly and very flexible, and we were able to reschedule. Excellent service!

The instructors at the indoor surfing lessons were very enthusiastic. It was great to see them. I've been there many times and will definitely be back. During the safety briefing, I think more attention should be paid to paying attention to what other people's boards are doing. If you fall, pay attention to other people who are falling. Otherwise, you'll get a board hitting your ankle or shin, which can be very painful. The new online booking system is a relief; no more getting no one on the phone ten times and then being told there's no room. While booking, I accidentally selected two people. I then deleted them because I couldn't change them. When I tried to make a new reservation, it looked full because the first one was still holding. After 20 minutes, I was able to book.

Had a fantastic children's party. Good explanation, a pleasant welcome, and a fantastic instructor who led the party with passion and challenged everyone at their own level.

It was a bit uncertain whether our party would go ahead due to the wintry weather, with snow and icy conditions. But they handled this very relaxedly. We were warmly welcomed with a chat and a joke. We were assigned a room with our own table where we were given drinks and a donut, and we could open our presents. Then it was time to change, which was quite a challenge with eight kids between the ages of 8 and 10 who had to put on wet wetsuits. Luckily, we were finally ready in time. After a short, clear explanation, they got started. The first round was a bit tentative, but soon they were using the "tricks" they'd been shown. They all loved it and talked about it for a long time. One tip: Replace the changing room with small cubicles. You'll now be in the changing room with everyone you were in, so children and adults are together. Other than that, everything was really well organized, beautiful location, clean, and very friendly staff.

The bodyboarding kids' party was fantastic! We had a blast, and compliments to the welcome and instructors! We'll definitely be back.

I had a fantastic experience Down Under. My 13-year-old son and I went indoor surfing. After getting used to the water, we made rapid progress in just two hours, thanks in part to the expert and friendly guidance of Job and Luna. Congratulations, and we'll definitely be back.

Cozy modern business with excellent service.

Christmas dinner 2025 demonstrates a lack of respect for the clientele. Poor quality food, a cramped buffet, poor seating and tables, poor staff, and a poor atmosphere. Poor food: poor supermarket-quality bread and toppings, too small, and little cutlery for serving. For example, you had to pick up French cheese with your hands. Jam in supermarket jars. The hot food tasted bad; parsnip soup was in undrinkable glasses, and it was also a soup the children didn't like, etc. Buffet setup: the same food on both sides, placed far too close together. This led to spills. Little walking space, rows of people standing on and against each other, etc. Seating: small chairs at often round tables, pushed together in rows. It looked like a drab canteen in a large factory. There was little dining space and even less seating. Staff: too few, and they were running around like headless chickens, constantly asking if everything was good. Long waits for overpriced drinks. Atmosphere: No atmosphere in this junk shop. NO CHRISTMAS ATMOSPHERE, AT ALL. I feel ripped off: 45 euros for bad supermarket food, and then another euro/a fortune for soft drinks and wine/beer.

I booked an hour of indoor surfing for a birthday, hoping to do something with water in winter as well. It was our first time Down Under, and we were pleasantly surprised. We received a friendly welcome and clear instructions before we got in the water. Thanks in part to the excellent guidance, we had a blast. Definitely recommended if you're looking to step outside your comfort zone and can handle a few bumps!

The starter was surprisingly beautiful and tasty, the dessert perfect, but the main course was the worst. The meat was very bad; it was tough and we didn't finish half of it. There were 4 of us, and 3 of us were inedible, it was chewy. We pointed it out but nothing was done about it. If they had responded to that earlier, they would have done a good job. It's a shame for such a highly regarded restaurant.

Super fun to do, but the reception and information upon arrival were very brief, and we didn't feel very welcome. The guidance during the walk was fine.

The staff was friendly and welcoming, but the service was also super fast and excellent. The food was delicious, and we really enjoyed it. The whole atmosphere in the restaurant was fantastic! It felt like you were enjoying a meal at a tropical beach club in Curaçao. All in all, a fantastic experience!

Great location. In the summer, it's lovely to sit outside and watch the water sports enthusiasts. But even in bad weather, it's really cozy inside. And last but not least: the food is great!

We had a fantastic event at Down Under! After a warm welcome from our host, we were divided into groups for various activities, and there was truly something for everyone. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the food was delicious. Everything was taken care of down to the last detail. All in all, a very successful event; highly recommended for companies or groups looking for a fun and well-organized day!

The children's party was great fun. The boys were well-supervised by two girls. One was a bit more patient than the other. There was some real irritation at times. This needs to be supervised, as the children present noticed. The food was excellent. It arrived on time. And the kids were allowed to get their own drinks.

What a terrible afternoon we had here. We came eager to bodyboard, but just before we were to start, we discovered we'd been assigned to a group of 13 children around eight years old who were having a birthday party. No advance warning, no notification when booking – nothing. When I politely pointed this out to reception, I received an extremely rude response: it would be "at our own risk" and they "couldn't do anything." No attempt to offer any assistance or find a solution. Ultimately, we decided not to participate because it simply didn't feel right for two thirty-year-olds to disrupt a children's party by standing in the middle of it. The manager later offered to refund only 20% of the amount, claiming that the "system wasn't technically possible" to refund the money or issue a voucher. As if that were our problem. In short: a complete waste of time and money, with staff who showed no understanding or customer service whatsoever. If you're looking for a fun experience or a professionally organized activity, please stay away from this place.

We came to try indoor surfing. I asked beforehand if this was safe for beginners, and they confirmed it was. But this is so clumsy. To my great surprise, there was no helmet or other protection (because the surface was supposedly soft enough), the instructors didn't go beyond helping me get on my board, and they were more interested in the end of their workday than anything else. I've been home for six weeks now with whiplash after falling off my board; the surface was far from soft...

The children thoroughly enjoyed the bodyboarding party with food. The selection of snacks wasn't plentiful for halal eaters, but the service and activity made up for it. Thanks for the great service! We had a wonderful time.

Friendly, helpful service. I know better than anyone that serving large groups isn't always fun. It was the right person with the right group. One small point for improvement is that the side dish (fries) comes at the same time as the main course. Most people were already finished. But if that's all it takes 😉

We came to surf the indoor wave. Seven brave guys subjected ourselves to the roar of the artificial wave, and we did surprisingly well! It was challenging, fun, and a good full-body workout! Recommended for everyone. Small tip: bring earplugs (custom-made hearing protection). It's really noisy inside. Not surprising with those jets :)

A delicious, varied menu perfect for a group meal. We went for dinner with 10 adults and 2 children to celebrate something. The menu isn't too complicated and offers enough variety to accommodate the 3 vegans in the group, as well as the children. The location is great because it's situated on a small lake with lots of activities, from beach volleyball to water skiing. Seating indoors and outdoors was no problem. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The price is definitely reasonable.
