Super cozy Spanish restaurant. Great atmosphere, really feels like you're in Spain for a moment. The food and wines are delicious and the service is super friendly too. We will definitely be back!

Nice atmosphere, really feels like you're on vacation for a moment. The tapas were also very tasty. We ended up here by chance after another restaurant was closed, which was our original plan. Very glad we did in hindsight. The Tinto di Verano was good.

A restaurant with a very nice atmosphere and very helpful and friendly staff. We visited it twice and we didn't have to wait. It would be good, of course, to make a reservation especially if you are a large group. There were two of us and they seated us both times and we sat at the bar. The first time we tried seafood paella and the second time meat. I preferred the meat, chicken and ribeye. Don't forget to drink sangria.

The food was okay, but unfortunately the service completely ruined the experience. From the beginning, one of the waiter was so rude. When I ordered both pata negra and patatas bravas, she laughed at me and said, “Pata negra is not potatoes.” I replied that I knew—I was ordering both dishes. It was an unnecessary and embarrassing interaction. Later, she accidentally dropped a plate, and food splashed all over my white shirt, jeans, and my new bag. I understand that accidents happen, but what really disappointed me was that she didn’t apologize, didn’t acknowledge what had happened, and didn’t even check if I was okay. The broken plate, food, and glass were also left on the floor instead of being cleaned up. To top it off, when it was time to pay, she handed us the receipt with the total clearly visible, held out the card machine, and simply asked, “How much?” It felt like she expected us to leave a tip after the experience we had. When we didn’t, she didn’t even say thank you or goodbye. I don’t mind paying for good service, but respect and basic courtesy should be the minimum. And for this average food? I won’t be coming back.

I rarely leave negative reviews but they really ruined our evening. The food was just okay but the service is disastrous! It's not only due to the unfriendly staff but also they are unbelievably understaffed and our order was forgotten and didn't go into the system or whatever. Instead of apologizing, they lied and said the food is on the way which it wasn't since they asked me again what did I order! A word to the management: Hire more people during busy days or don't accept reservations or walk-ins if you can't guarantee serving everyone.

We were at Duende Dos and it was a great success. We were treated very well there, Rafael did a fantastic job, he took excellent care of us, and we also found the food very tasty. We will definitely be back.

I love this place, it’s definitely a gem. I felt like I stepped right off the plane into Spain for lunch. The food is magnificent. The service was friendly, attentive, and professional. The ambiance is warm, relaxing and friendly. Make sure to make reservations, so you don’t miss out on a table, because they get booked real quick. Ideal to eat for lunch or dinner. We will definitely make sure to return back soon to explore more of their wonderful menu.

Great alternative to central Amsterdam food

My girlfriend and I had such an amazing time here! We walked in without a reservation and besides the food did not expect too much :) our waiter with the earrings (João?) definitely made the evening worth our while. Service was amazing and we will be back 🥰

Duende Dos is the best Spanish restaurant in the Netherlands, hands down. I cannot recommend this place enough. Every time I have a friend visiting me in Amsterdam, I make sure to bring them here every time!! Amazing food, friendly service, and lovely atmosphere. It checks all the boxes. I find the prices to be good too, and you are able to get a lot of high quality food for a very reasonable price. We go to Duende very often and Rafael took care of us last time. Despite how busy the restaurant was, he always made sure to check-in and see if we needed anything. A server like him can truly make an experience so much more memorable. Thank you for the amazing hospitality as always ❤️ We are already looking forward to our next time here!!

Next after a home cooked meal at home with 'mamá' expect to be in for a piece of Spain at home with the family from Duende Dos - remember to order desert to make your meal complete. All is home made and served at your table. Bravo!

Our second visit to this restaurant is a huge disappointment. We were here about 3 years ago as well, and I think I would have given it 5 stars back then. Our visit yesterday was the complete opposite. When we entered, someone (who later turned out to be the waiter) asked if we had a reservation; he then went outside to deliver an order and made us wait. The table was dirty and grubby (judging by the paper tablecloth, it hadn't been replaced). We were given a filthy menu (see photo), and we noticed that the other menus on the tables didn't look any better. After fifteen minutes, water was placed on the table without a saying word. After more than 35 min, not a single order had been taken; in fact, no one spoke to us (like; just a moment, it's busy, everything to your liking, do you want a drink, not even good evening, etc. nothing). We got up and left the restaurant, and enjoyed delicious tapas at another restaurant. I give 2 stars: 1 for now, and an extra one for our experience about 3 years ago. Too bad, we went there with high expectations.

The service here is so bad; they say on the phone that they don't take reservations. I arrived at 5:00 PM on Friday. They were completely empty, and then they said, "Sorry, you can't eat here. We have a lot of reservations," even though they normally don't accept them. I don't think they just let anyone in.

This restaurant is absolutely fantastic. It has a very good selection of Spanish dishes of extremely high quality. It's usually fully booked, even during the week, so reservations are often necessary.

Stepping into Duende Dos is like coming home. The service is exceptional and friendly, the food arrives quickly, and it's the closest thing to being in a corner bar in Spain. The bread with tomato, the croquettes, the padrón peppers, and the tortilla are generally spectacular. Some things could be improved, like the calamari, but I would still go back (and I still need to try the paella!), just for the atmosphere and the shots.

I've been here a few times now, and it's absolutely the best Spanish restaurant in Amsterdam! You'll truly feel like you're in a Mediterranean atmosphere. The food is delicious, and the staff goes above and beyond to ensure you have a wonderful evening. The tapas are wonderful, but definitely try the paella!

Delicious food and great service. It feels like a little piece of Spain in Amsterdam. As a child, I went to Centra with my parents, then I discovered Dos, and it's now the best choice for delicious Spanish food. The chef and waiters who moved to Dos after Centra closed brought decades of experience, and it shows. If I lived closer, I'd eat there more often!

I’ve been here around 6 times now, and it has genuinely become one of my favourites in Amsterdam. The food is consistently great, the people are incredibly warm, and the ambience is just lovely every single time. Their sangria, calamari, and the bread with aioli are my must-order favourites, always perfect. It’s actually quite rare to find restaurants in Amsterdam that pair amazing food with such genuinely good service, and Duende Dos absolutely delivers on both. The combination of the friendly team and delicious food keeps us coming back as loyal customers. Highly recommended!

Delicious Mediterranean food with reasonable price in Amsterdam. However, the staff barely speaks english/dutch and they are too loud with each other. But it’s Spanish so it’s understandable!

The food was quite nice but nothing too special. I did like the sangria. The most concerning part is the quality of the seafood (or maybe it is undercooked) as it did make me sick in the evening later when I got home. Would not take the risk again to go back.

The food was good, and you definitely need a reservation — it can be quite hard to get a table otherwise. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. The (head?) waiter seemed constantly rushed, and the whole experience felt chaotic. Most of the staff were not very friendly either. For example, after having sardines as part of our first batch of tapas, I asked for new cutlery before ordering other dishes because the smell was quite strong. The waiter simply said “no” and walked away. Super strange, as it’s quite normal not to want to mix flavours that don’t go together. Overall, good food but poor service — a shame, because the place has potential.

Came there last Monday, asking if they offer take-out. They said yes, I came back one hour later just to hear they do not offer take-out. I told the guy that one hour earlier he hinself acknowledged they offer take-out, he just raised huis shoulders and walked away. So rude!!!

Great restaurant, good Spanish food. And not too expensive either. But our cramped table next to the door by the fire extinguisher was a bit of a letdown... The friendly lady on the phone could/should have mentioned that when we asked if we could arrive at 6:30 PM instead of 6:00 PM (they use settings for 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM). Otherwise, everything was fine: friendly, good service, and excellent food in a nice restaurant.

As a Dutch person you are completely immersed in the Spanish language by waiter Rafael.

Very cute and tasy :). The interior was quite cosy although a bit noisy. We were here on a sunday and place seemed fully booked, we had made a reservation in advance as well. You could see they were working very hard and food was relatively quick, but it was a bit hard to call them to your table sometimes. The dishes were very delicious, i personally really enjoyed the endivias. The seafood soup was also very rich. Oh, and the chocolate mousse was so thick i thoroughly enjoyed it. Would love to eat here again.

We tried sooo many different dishes and all of them were so good. The fried eggplant and the calamari were my personal favorites. This is definitely a good place to go with a larger group so you can try a lot of the options and share a bit of everything. The waitstaff was so nice, they really made the experience worth while.
