Duende Dos in Jordaan

Feels like an authentic Spanish bar (it isn’t hard to imagine that you’re in Madrid). We loved the atmosphere, the people who attended us, the (natural) wine and of course the food!! Highly recommended

Hi, I don't understand the reviews. Some people are making absurd comments; maybe they weren't even there, just out of spite. Anyway, Xuende Dos is very good and very respectable.

Delicious food and great service. It feels like a little piece of Spain in Amsterdam. As a child, I went to Centra with my parents, then I discovered Dos, and it's now the best choice for delicious Spanish food. The chef and waiters who moved to Dos after Centra closed brought decades of experience, and it shows. If I lived closer, I'd eat there more often!

Duende dos is highly recommended. Beautiful lighting, delicious tapas, and friendly staff!

I’ve been here around 6 times now, and it has genuinely become one of my favourites in Amsterdam. The food is consistently great, the people are incredibly warm, and the ambience is just lovely every single time. Their sangria, calamari, and the bread with aioli are my must-order favourites, always perfect. It’s actually quite rare to find restaurants in Amsterdam that pair amazing food with such genuinely good service, and Duende Dos absolutely delivers on both. The combination of the friendly team and delicious food keeps us coming back as loyal customers. Highly recommended!

The food was delicious. Really delicious. Always busy. It's also very noisy and warm. The floor is made of glass. Definitely recommended.

Marvellous - make sure you go and eat the freshest seafood from the grill. Returned a couple of days ago and it’s still fantastic. Squid and chicken on the plancha are both excellent. Great atmosphere and friendly service. It’s always popular so best to book

Delicious Mediterranean food with reasonable price in Amsterdam. However, the staff barely speaks english/dutch and they are too loud with each other. But it’s Spanish so it’s understandable!

The food was quite nice but nothing too special. I did like the sangria. The most concerning part is the quality of the seafood (or maybe it is undercooked) as it did make me sick in the evening later when I got home. Would not take the risk again to go back.

The food was good, and you definitely need a reservation — it can be quite hard to get a table otherwise. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. The (head?) waiter seemed constantly rushed, and the whole experience felt chaotic. Most of the staff were not very friendly either. For example, after having sardines as part of our first batch of tapas, I asked for new cutlery before ordering other dishes because the smell was quite strong. The waiter simply said “no” and walked away. Super strange, as it’s quite normal not to want to mix flavours that don’t go together. Overall, good food but poor service — a shame, because the place has potential.

First of all, Duende Dos is an excellent restaurant with very respectful staff, excellent food, and highly professional waiters/waitresses. Highly recommended.

Came there last Monday, asking if they offer take-out. They said yes, I came back one hour later just to hear they do not offer take-out. I told the guy that one hour earlier he hinself acknowledged they offer take-out, he just raised huis shoulders and walked away. So rude!!!

Still a success after all these years. And it never disappoints.

Great restaurant, good Spanish food. And not too expensive either. But our cramped table next to the door by the fire extinguisher was a bit of a letdown... The friendly lady on the phone could/should have mentioned that when we asked if we could arrive at 6:30 PM instead of 6:00 PM (they use settings for 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM). Otherwise, everything was fine: friendly, good service, and excellent food in a nice restaurant.

Great food. Almost all dishes tasted above average. The only 1 which was a bit of a let down is the pan con tomate. The pimentos del pedron and pulpo was the highlight for me

As a Dutch person you are completely immersed in the Spanish language by waiter Rafael.

Very cute and tasy :). The interior was quite cosy although a bit noisy. We were here on a sunday and place seemed fully booked, we had made a reservation in advance as well. You could see they were working very hard and food was relatively quick, but it was a bit hard to call them to your table sometimes. The dishes were very delicious, i personally really enjoyed the endivias. The seafood soup was also very rich. Oh, and the chocolate mousse was so thick i thoroughly enjoyed it. Would love to eat here again.

We tried sooo many different dishes and all of them were so good. The fried eggplant and the calamari were my personal favorites. This is definitely a good place to go with a larger group so you can try a lot of the options and share a bit of everything. The waitstaff was so nice, they really made the experience worth while. Thank you to the whole team for the amazing food and experience.

The waiter Rafa was amazing, super attentive, fun and nice. He made our dinner amazing. The food was extremely tasty, and it was great to pick from so many options. The vibes and employee truly made the dinner amazing. Definitely recommend and definitely will come back !!!

It's been a while since I went there. I thought it was mostly dirty. The floor was sticky. The chairs were filthy. The toilet was filthy. The little boys at the bar were noisy. It used to be much more pleasant at Etuc.

I loved it so much. Rafael was the best server . It was my friends birthday and he made the evening perfect!! Muchas gracias❤️

One of the best Spanish restaurants in Amsterdam. Some of the staff used to work at Centra aan de Lange Niezel, where I regularly went for the Zarzuela and Paella de Paella de Mariscos. They've brought their signature flavors to Duende Dos. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

This restaurant was built up by some friends, so I had some big expectations. The food was ok - shrimp was overcooked, mussels were watery, several dishes were above average (garlic chicken and calamari), but many others just average. Crowded, noisy, and the service was slow-ish - it seemed under staffed. That said, it could have been an off night? Everyone in our party kept saying that Duende original would never mess up this badly. Decent price though.

The tapas were delicious, but the manchego was old and crumbly. The paella was made with risotto, which unfortunately ruined the dish for us... paella is usually black or yellow, but not red... The carajillo was a very strong coffee with a touch of brandy, unfortunately, and not flambéed at the table... The service was chaotic, and the flower boxes by the window had completely withered, a shame because the view itself was magnificent. Not worth repeating.

The best restaurant in Amsterdam! We've been coming here for years, and every dinner, no matter the occasion or company, is a success. The friendly and vibrant atmosphere, the diverse staff, and the impeccable personal service make everyone feel instantly at home. The food is deliciously fresh and perfectly prepared. A bit too little vegetarian for our taste, but who knows, maybe someday... Highly recommended: the grilled asparagus, prawns a la plancha, and the mushrooms. In short, our favorite place to eat for 20 years!

Our first meal in Amsterdam was a wonderful one. Excellent service, wonderful ambience, friendly manager, and delicious food. If it wasn't our first time in the city, we would've definitely gone a second time so next time will be just as wonderful.

A Spanish tapas type restaurant. Sort of playing on the traditional Spanish tapa bar. The food was ok. Service was good and the atmosphere was nice. Prices as expected. Great to go as a group. Being from Spain, I would say the tapas could be better, but nevertheless worth a visit and having a taste of Spain in AMS.

The food is really good, the staff is also nice The only thing they must improve is the AC, this is need because the place becomes a sauna in hot days.

The acoustics are terrible. The noise level is so high that it’s almost impossible to keep a conversation. I don’t know how the service was because you couldn’t hear the waiters. The really need to fix this.

I loved Duende Dos. The service was excellent, everyone was really friendly, and the fish was so fresh and tasty. I have so many favorites on the menu that it’s hard to choose just one! This was my second time here this week, and I’ll definitely be back!

Highly recommended! They serve fresh fish and they know how to cook it very well. They know how to advise you on the orders because you would like to taste a lot, but then you would not be able to eat it all. Friendly staff. Maybe the place is a little too noisy, but it depends on the volume of the voices of the customers.

Paella Marinera had no taste at all. Rice was very dry, hardly any herbs (was light orange) fish very dry and overcooked.

Food ok but portions too small for the asking price. Be careful because the photos of the menu that you find here refer to 5 years ago, the prices have drastically increased. Eg. Polpo alla Gallega on the Maps menu cost 11 euros, now on the restaurant menu 17.50.

We went to both, this is the nicest one for interior. But very rude staff mamber. and older taller and bigger gentleman that smack plates on tables and doesnt like his work at all. Probably should look for something else. The rest was nice especially the girl that helped us.
