We had drinks with 12 people on Thursday afternoon. We ordered two platters to share, but unfortunately, everything arrived on one large platter, which is difficult with 12 people. The beer glasses are also too small; the bottle doesn't fit in all at once. What you get is delicious, and the service is also good.

I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant, where the service, communication, and food are top-notch! 🍴👌 Every detail is meticulously crafted, from the welcome to the last minute of your stay. We often have lunch here and we really enjoy it. The prices are reasonable. Chicken Katsu is our favorite. The atmosphere is good and it's cozy.

Great restaurant in the centre of Waalwijk, overlooking the market. Kandinsky has a slightly different take on old classics on the menu, with fresh ingredients and a inhouse oven to bake!. Service was great and the food was fresh and tasty. We will definitely be coming back once in a while for a lunch .

For years, by far the most popular place in Waalwijk. The food is good but pricey. The most popular dish is the Kandinsky satay, which is unbeatable. The beer is good, but the selection is limited.

The food and drinks were excellent. Normal restaurant prices for 2025. The terrace is nicely decorated, and the interior looks neat as well. The staff could clear the table a bit earlier and be more accommodating to small children. No other comments or complaints.

Delicious lunch dishes for a reasonable price.

Had a wonderful lunch here! They serve the best "uitsmijter" (fried sandwich)! The atmosphere inside is also great, and the staff are friendly! I saw a child who couldn't eat from the menu and was treated to chocolates by a waiter! Delicious! And when my girlfriend struggled, they politely waited to take her order until she was ready. Definitely worth repeating!

Artistic, beautifully decorated, and with creative and delicious food. I would recommend Kandinsky to everyone. The seating is fantastic, both inside and out, the service is good, and above all, the food is delicious. They've given classics like "12 uur," "pinsa," and "carbonara" a unique twist.

Good food, but nothing special, waited an hour and a half while everyone around us had already had, eaten and paid. Starter simply forgotten. Too bad, better experiences here in the past

Cosy terrace and enthusiastic (but very young and inexperienced) staff. Food was mixed in quality, burgers were great, fries were a bit limp and without salt, no salt on the table either unfortunately. Biggest surprise were the croquettes on bread. For a single croquette with a small slice of bread you pay € 10.80 here! (Unfortunately I only saw this afterwards when paying). Almost 11 euros for an Ordinaire beef croquette with a really small slice of brown bread and a small tub of butter. And then the croquette also tasted like old fat. It must be me.... But I don't have to go here anymore.

After my father was so enthusiastic about this recently, we went especially for Father's Day. The food was delicious, the girl did her best but the total experience was still a disappointment. We were put in a corner next to the toilet, where at one point a horrible smell came from. Everything took a very long time We were there at 6pm and not finished until 9pm and that for only a starter and main course. We skipped dessert.. It wasn't even super busy but there were a lot of problems with us and others. Too bad because it could have been great!

Had a nice lunch, super friendly service and special interior! On the table was an anniversary booklet because the business has been around for x-number of years (I forgot how many years), that speaks with how much passion and teamwork this business is run.

WOWWW if I could give 10 stars I would immediately! We were unknown in Waalwijk and were hungry. We went to celebrate that my husband has a new job (in Waalwijk) and ended up here. What incredibly enthusiastic staff and a fantastic lunch we had. Good price/quality ratio. We were really surprised. Everything has been thought of, even the ceiling of the toilet is attractive. Beautiful decoration. Nice illustrations on the menu, etc. I'm afraid we'll have to come here for lunch more often now. ♡

Heel gastvrij en meedenkend! Toen ik aangaf dat ik een biertje van de tap niet kende, mocht ik gewoon even een half glaasje proeven. Heel goed meegedacht met paprika-allergie, en bij vervolg drankje werd gevraagd van wat voor soort bier ik hield en er werden een aantal gesuggereerd waarvan de uiteindelijk gekozen versie echt heel lekker bleek en goed bij het gerecht paste. Enthousiaste bediening met kennis van zaken!

What a wonderful experience I had at Eetbar Kandinsky in Waalwijk on Valentine's Day! When we arrived it was quite busy, but the waiter with the long blonde hair welcomed us with a warm smile. He offered us a spot outside, complete with heating pads and heaters, which really made the atmosphere special. It was a cold evening, but thanks to those extras it still felt comfortable. The waiter took the time to advise us about the menu. He enthusiastically talked about the fish dishes and the concept of slow food, which really made me curious. The exclusive Valentine's Day menu also sounded fantastic, and I appreciated his heartfelt recommendations. It was nice to see that he was not only friendly and correct, but also had a sense of humor, which made the evening even more special. He even asked a colleague for help with wine advice as he had less knowledge about it, he said, which I thought was fair and professional. When the food arrived I was impressed with the presentation. My sirloin steak was wonderfully tender and perfectly prepared, and the flavors were really great. My friend ordered pasta, and she loved it too. It was nice to enjoy all those goodies together. We decided to end the evening with coffee and a shared French toast, which was a perfect sweet treat to end the meal. All in all it was an evening full of delicious dishes, great service and a cozy atmosphere. The waiter made a great impression on us; his commitment and enthusiasm for the menu really added to the experience. It was clear that he did his job with passion, which made the evening even more memorable. Eetbar Kandinsky truly exceeded all my expectations, and I can't wait to go back and enjoy that fantastic experience again! 🍽️🥂

Supper cozy atmosphere, plenty of options outside to keep them warm when it's cold. Inside, cozy and warm. Food is good and tasty as usual, large portions and quality products. Small point for the glasses and cutlery. If you look closely you will sometimes come across a greasy spot. (Smoothies are highly recommended)

It's always a good time here. Both in the restaurant and on the terrace (at this temperature you sit on a heating pad and/or have a fleece rug). In terms of wine, I usually get advice and that works out surprisingly nice/good😃🥂 They also have a nice menu with something for everyone.

Het lunchgerecht was echt weer super heerlijk. Wat een fijne kaart heeft Kandinsky, al jaren. Ik kom hier heel erg graag, ook voor diner. Vriendelijke bediening die eventuele vragen of opmerkingen meteen echt serieus oppakken. Ik las in een andere review een opmerking over gerook op het terras. Dat vind ik ook jammer, maar ik kan er mee leven. Ik ga daarom wel liefst binnen zitten, zodat ik niet tegelijk met mijn lekkere gerecht rook zit te happen. Toch vind ik het nog steeds een dikke tien.

Nice and enthusiastic staff, delicious lunch! There could be more vegetarian options added and the cappuccino should also mention that oat, coconut and soy milk are also a portion (because that is possible👍🏻).

Nice cozy tent in the center of Waalwijk. Even though it was busy, you could still hear each other well. The music wasn't too loud either, perfectly in the background. The food is really delicious and, despite the crowds, it is ready quite quickly. Super! The presentation also looked very good. And the service is absolutely great; super nice and helpful. They kept a close eye on everyone, so you didn't have to shout for attention. In my opinion, definitely recommended!

Op een prachtige zomerse dag in oktober onverwachts in Waalwijk. Geland op het verwarmde terras van Kandinski. Gezellig terras, lekkere muziek,ik, lekkere stoelen, dekentjes en uiterst vriendelijk personeel. Als snack/voorafje worstenbroodje geproefd, was prima. Daarna de varkens-sate, heerlijk gekruid, lekkere saus met krokante pinda's en huis gemaakte atjar waar ik best meer van had willen hebben. Lekker kopje losse thee na. Kortom heerlijke namiddag/avond en op naar het theater. Ik kan eigenlijk maar 1 negatief punt noemen en dat er geen rookvrij gedeelte was op het terras. Ik ben letterlijk weg gerookt door mijn buurtafeltjes.

Reasonable . Food was good. But took a very long time. Seemed to have been forgotten tables around us ordered later served earlier. We also had a nice meal after we asked how long it would take.

We are regular customers at this restaurant. Sometimes we just stop by for a drink, other times we spend the evening with a few friends, and sometimes we come for lunch. I always leave this place satisfied. Great service, beautiful ambiance, excellent food, and drinks. I highly recommend it!

Ended up on this terrace by chance. A very simple map; not daring and not varied. The Rendang was okay; Enough. The wine was served in a special way; with knowledge and charm. The whole is sufficient, but the menu could use some ambition

Excellent drinks, food and service

Eten was hier meestal gewoon prima. Nu vonden wij het qua prijs kwaliteit erg tegenvallen. Varkens cote ( ribstuk) bleek een veel te dure spare ribs (28,80 ) en aan de parelhoen zat weinig vlees. Bijgeleverde groentes prima.

Just before a visit to the De Leest theater in Waalwijk, I just had a main course here. A fantastic hamburger with home-made fries 👌🏻 A nice 0.0 beer and a cozy atmosphere. Brabant hospitality and definitely worth coming back!

Zojuist geluncht bij dit restaurant! Wij vonden het erg rumoerig en de muziek stond te hard! De bediening wel vriendelijk, maar iets te joviaal, er werd geen smakelijk eten gewenst of gevraagd of het gesmaakt had achteraf! De gerechten waren lekker, maar volgende keer gaan we ergens anders naar toe waar we wat rustiger kunnen lunchen!

Cozy place that serves dishes with ingredients you probably don't know yet, without the 'cold poop' quality that an expensive restaurant gives you. Many dishes are organic or slightly more animal-friendly. There is no vegan on the menu, but there is vegetarian. Ober thinks his job is the best in the world, and that enthusiasm makes us very happy. Some standard vegan dishes would be an improvement.

Erg vriendelijke bediening en eten is top, verrassend, smaaksensaties. Heerlijke wijnen. Alles vers en gebalanceerd. Een leuke avond die iedere euro waard is. Dat kan je vaak niet in andere restaurants zeggen. Absoluut hier geen teleurstelling.

Delicious brunch: eggs with bacon Feb. '23: Kandinsky has upgraded. The menu is extensive with excellent (also vegetarian) dishes (how about rillette as a starter with all the trimmings). The wine list is also very mature. Recommended !!
