Very nice restaurant, but the food is very expensive.

We sat on the terrace for a while after shopping. The sun was strong that day, so our rest was welcome. We didn't intend to have a full meal. The snacks were well catered for.

I 100% recommend this restaurant! We went on Saturday night and chose the delicious bitter balls, fries with truffle sauce, and croquettes — everything was simply sensational. On the same day, we tried to go to another restaurant, but we weren't well attended to because there was a show happening in the square and the place didn't have the capacity to serve all the customers. At Wijckers, however, we were promptly attended to and, even with the restaurant full, the dishes arrived quickly and were spectacular. Excellent experience, both for the service and the food. I highly recommend it!

The mussels were not good, actually much denser and super small.

What a gem this restaurant is; everything is great: the food, drinks, service, and atmosphere. Dick does everything for his guests; if you don't have a table, Dick fixes it for you. Nothing but praise.

We were kicked out of nowhere. We sat there the whole evening. After going up and down, we were no longer welcome. Our drinks were taken away. And the staff was very unfriendly. The whole terrace was still full, but we were no longer welcome. Highly recommended!

I'm giving this place 0 stars. We were gone for fifteen minutes due to private reasons. Our drinks weren't finished yet, we came back to sit down and the man started shouting at us and threatening to call the police to make us leave the terrace. We politely said we would finish our drinks and then leave. The whole terrace was still full. The man had no respect (I think the manager didn't want to give his name). No respect. Never go here, they just want money from you.

Despite the heat (38°C), it was very pleasantly cool inside. The staff were very friendly and the food was also very tasty. I will definitely come back here again.

We enjoyed the delicious food; we had the satay. Tender meat, a delicious plate full, and the presentation was great. And...very important: very hospitable. We were warmly welcomed by the host. A real gem, with an eye for everyone walking by, but also able to keep track of everything on a very full terrace with an open and friendly attitude. There are very few who understand this part of their profession so well. Compliments!!

We were here yesterday. Great food, nice atmosphere, very attentive service that often stopped by to see if you needed anything. We sat here for about 3 hours and the staff were constantly running around. I didn't see them rest or chat with each other for a single moment.

We have been to Wijckers in Waalwijk a few times, but the last time was so bad and below all standards that we will never go there again. Uninterested service, fueled by the manager who truly misses the mark when it comes to friendliness and service. The manager ruins the entire atmosphere in the restaurant and has a negative influence on the staff. I would like to tell the manager that there are plenty of much better and absolutely cozier restaurants in the region where you are welcome.

Had a super fun and enjoyable evening with my wife, brother, sister, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law. The food was delicious, the service superb, the menu was explained very clearly, and the staff were very friendly. In short, worth repeating.

My visit to Wijckers was unfortunately very disappointing. Upon arrival, we felt completely unwelcome. The staff seemed disinterested and unfriendly. When I asked a simple question, it was answered curtly and without any explanation. They made no effort to think along or communicate in a friendly manner. For me, the quality of a restaurant begins with the way guests are greeted. A warm welcome, a friendly demeanor, and proper communication should be self-evident. Unfortunately, that was completely lacking here. This immediately created an awkward atmosphere, which negatively impacted the rest of our visit. I regret having to write this, because pleasant service makes a huge difference. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving the hospitality and professionalism of the staff!

I come here 3 times a week to see acquaintances and have drinks with them and the atmosphere is great. The staff always has a smile and is friendly and attentive. It's just great.

We wanted to make a reservation because we were traveling from far away. This was no longer possible, as they said there was always room. When we arrived, there wasn't really any room. I didn't particularly like one of the dishes, and when I mentioned this, I received a rather telling, unwelcoming response.

Worthless service; we arrived here with a small dog. Initially, they apparently hadn't seen it, but the policy seems to be that dogs aren't welcome inside. That's perfectly fine, but if you're so keen on adhering to that policy, it would behoove you not to take a drinks order first and then make people pay for it. The inconvenience was already on my end, and now it's double. As a customer, I can't know that you refuse dogs, and I'm not going to sit having lunch on a terrace in the cold with a heavily pregnant woman and a toddler, surrounded by cigarette smoke. It's a real shame they treat customers like this.

We had a wonderful dinner! Plenty of choices and the portions were perfect! My little girl (14 months) also thoroughly enjoyed the whitefish with mashed potatoes and carrots!

We had a lovely lunch on the sunny terrace. The service was good and prompt. There's no need to worry about your glass staying empty for too long; they were incredibly attentive. The food was good and the portions were generous.

Extensive beer menu. Excellent bitterballen. Quite pricey, though, and don't empty your glass too quickly, as it'll be refilled as quickly as possible, only adding to the bill.

Hello. We had the poke bowl and the oriental salad. The oriental salad had too many noodles to fill the plate. The poke bowl was even worse...the sushi rice was really bad. It was a round disk of rice at the bottom of the bowl that was stuck together. It was impossible to separate. The rest of the bowl was decent. In short, the food we had was mediocre. The blonde lady who served us, with very long eyelashes and nails, had left her smile at home. Phew, she wasn't in the mood. Get rid of her. The other staff were very enthusiastic and super friendly. Just count, there were way more than 10 staff members walking around... The bottom line. Some food and drinks for lunch for €42. Mwoah, we'll look for a different terrace in Waalwijk next time and see what they have to offer for that price.👍

I've been there three times now! The wait was long, even though it wasn't busy at all. I found the food tasteless, and the Aperol Sprits tasted watery.

I was frustrated that two tables were served before me when they arrived after me. When the 2 tables received and finished eating their meals and I was still waiting, I realised that our order must have got lost. I asked the wait staff whether my meal was coming soon, he checked with the kitchen, and returned to say it would be another 3 minutes. I work in catering and know that my meal could be put together in 3 minutes. I would have liked an apology for the late meal. It's good to be honest.

We come here very regularly and are therefore very satisfied. What we only find very annoying is that now that it is terrace weather, there is a lot of smoking under this covered terrace while the doors to the inside are open. As a non-smoker you sit in the stench of vapes and dirty cigarettes all evening. A smoking ban on the covered terrace would be very welcome. It is not nice to have problems with your eyes and throat all evening while you are sitting inside.

Had a nice lunch here today. I had reserved a table, and they took into account that we had someone with a walker with us. The restaurant has a good atmosphere and friendly service. We will definitely come back again.

One of the favorite spots to pop in for a meal or just a drink in this adorable city. Great atmosphere and helpful friendly staff with a variety of foods to choose from on their menu.

I think it has been getting worse lately after a year, a lot of noise and crowds. Food is being cut back. And some staff members got out of bed on the wrong side.

Dick is a real host, previously at mister van Dijk and before that at Leeke (The gangmaker and suuuuper nice), now here in his own restaurant. I like to eat at his place, also friendly staff, nice restaurant and if you have comments or wishes, you are listened to, in short customer focus as I like it. Recommended!

Long wait at least half an hour after reservation

Sat on the terrace for half an hour, none of the staff sees that there are new guests, they come to the tables next to you but just let you sit. Then we went to the neighbors I have been working in the catering industry for 46 years, but this is the... Biggest rookie mistake is that there is no attention for new guests.

Early brunch with the kids because of shifts and they open at 11:30 am. Just forgot that Easter Monday has a Sunday opening from 11 am... ...they opened for our reservation at 10.30 am, super class. Good, friendly service, delicious food, definitely in our top 3.

Unfortunately today 29-03 a lesser experience on the terrace. When visiting the terrace I sat down at the table with my daughter and her friend...a table for two people. A table next to me became available and I wanted to use it to enjoy the sun, but I was asked to use the other table again. At that moment there were several tables available on the terrace and I was surprised by this request. And such a request is of course just not right. Great place. Point of attention, make sure the portion sizes don't get smaller and smaller.

We come here almost every week, and every time it is like a hot shower. Super tasty cuisine with something surprising on the menu regularly. Very friendly owner who welcomes you and assigns you a cozy place, and friendly and prompt service. What is also striking is the indoor climate and the acoustics, which in our experience are simply perfect. Our opinion, the 5 star restaurant in Waalwijk, 5 stars.

This afternoon we drank 2 beers on the terrace, paid for it properly and went home through the market, but we were loudly stopped by a waiter because we had paid for the 2 beers from another table (waiter's mistake). We had to go back to pay for our own beers, which cost 50 cents more, crazy for words!!!!

Delicious food and plenty of choice. Serving is very fast, so you have to slow down to avoid being outside within a few minutes. This is certainly a good location for people who want a quick lunch. Sitting around for a while and having a drink is of course always an option/choice.

I find the staff arrogant. If you say something to the owner you will not be taken seriously. The bread was very hard and chewy and therefore not tasty. They could have a little more respect for the customers.

Beautiful tent. Nice crew, slow indifferent service Chicken satay worthless. Straight from a cheap frozen package, I think, so you can throw away the sauce right away. after long time of waiting for to take an order, dessert was missing...

Been twice now for lunch and both times it was good. The chicken satay was very tender and the eggs benedict almost perfect. The atmosphere and service are good. The prices are high but appropriate. This tent is highly recommended.
