Eetcafé de Lachende Koe in Wijk 00 Drachten

Leuke tent en het eten was ook best lekker, maar geen hoogvlieger. De Saté Royal en Gevulde Paprika konden mij en mijn vriendin best aardig bekoren, maar het is niet iets waar je lang over napraat.

I'm unsure whether I want to write a review or not. I've decided to do it anyway. For the fourth time in several years we decided to eat at Lachende Koe in Drachten, because it was always pleasant and the food was always good. To our great regret, we have to conclude after tonight that it was the last time we were here. What a shame. The business appears to have been taken over by a catering family in 2023. We had made a reservation for two people and were looking forward to it. We were allowed to choose our own table, which was a bit strange, the previous times it was always full. When we were seated we could immediately order a drink and we were immediately told that there were no more Spareribs and the Salmon was also almost gone. We had already decided to go for the three-course menu. The starter was brought out in no time, really quickly, the waiter already made the joke of "Oooh that's left over from yesterday, that's why it's here so quickly". We had a good laugh about it. I don't know if he noticed that it had seemed that way afterwards. The Mustard Soup was quite salty but at least tasted like Mustard and had bacon in it. The Crispy chicken, which was clearly pre-fried and was therefore quite dark on the edge of the chicken, the crispy layer around it had black burnt parts. The temperature was also between cold and lukewarm. As a main course we both ordered a farmer's schnitzel, with fries in a bowl of plain black burnt fries. Well what can I say. It wasn't good. Mushrooms, onion and bacon, again burnt mushrooms (really black) and burnt onion. With a farmer's schnitzel you expect something extra, this was quite unimaginative, it would have looked better at home. Within 30 minutes we were served both courses, to be honest much too quickly, we were having a nice evening out, or at least that was the intention. After dessert, which was excellent in the form of a sorbet and a coffee "Laughing Cow", we honestly left Drachten a bit disappointed. We were out and home again within 2 1/2 hours. The waiter also indicated that we were disappointed. But I honestly don't feel like it will be passed on. That's why we decided to share our disappointment in this review. I think it's such a shame that the always so cozy place has become so run-down, broken toilet seats, crockery with corners missing, sticky tables. And what struck us was that the staff only consisted of men, no problem, but it was noticeable. M.n. one of them was wearing jeans that were really gross, but I think the service was a little less so. It seems to be really difficult to find good staff, and in any case, there are no catering tigers working there these days. They are very nice and they do their utmost, but it still detracts from the atmosphere and the level of the business. We were allowed a dessert on the company's account, but at this time we felt that we could not make it and just paid. But to go here again, no.

I had a wonderful meal here. The food was truly delicious. I had the mixed grill, which was truly delicious. Patrick and the young, blonde hostess were also super good hosts. I would highly recommend this place for a meal. The service was excellent and the food was good. Definitely worth repeating!

De lachende koe, lachen zal je vergaan als je hier eet.Zelden zo een trieste bedoeling gezien. Prijskwaliteit is compleet zoek. Voorgerecht ( carpaccio ) was smaakloos. Varkenshaas met stroganof saus was op zich prima. De salade was compleet verlept, de patat was te ver door gebakken in olie die duidelijk al lang geleden vervangen had moeten worden. Dessert : ijs met slagroom. Dit is was pas echt smakeloos. Overduidelijk het goedkoopste ijs wat er te vinden is op de markt en daarbij is deze ooit eens helemaal gesmolten geweest gezien de vele ijskristallen ( echt grote stukke) die er in zaten. Slagroom was meer lucht dan dan je deze proefde. Wat wel goed was, het drinken. Op de vraag of het had gesmaakt had heb ik toch maar mening gegeven. De jongeman keek mij aan en liep vervolgens hard weg. De bedrijfsleiding zat aan een hoge tafel groot gedeelte van de avond in jogging broek wijn weg te slempen. Er werken erg veel kinderen. Om 19:00 stonden deze allemaal bij hem midden in het restaurant om de uren registratie af te handelen.( tot en met 15 jaar mag je maar tot 19:00 werken). Dat jeugd een restaurant runt is allemaal goed. Uit kosten overweging begrijp ik dat ook. Alleen is deze manier discutabel.

The starter was fine. A problem arose with the main course. We ordered food without nuts, and what did we get with nuts? The dishes only arrived when we asked for them. The accompanying fries were overcooked, leaving a nasty aftertaste. The second course was completely undercooked... When you ask for a drink, you don't get one. Finally, you get ice cream with a dirty spoon in it, and no, it wasn't the ice cream that was on it, but just the previous customer's leftover food. Gross, absolutely disgusting!! Such a shame! We always loved coming here. Such a shame!

Went here today as an outing. We came in full of enthusiasm. Unfortunately, this was not fulfilled... Dirty table and no clean cutlery. Also found hair in the food. Had to wait a long time for the food. we sat at the table for 3 hours for a 3 course menu. The food was also not good. Reported this and received nasty reactions from the staff. The toilet was very dirty. Not recommended. Schnitzels come out of the frying fat. The salmon was very salty and tough. Customer friendliness was hardly present. Kok heard us, but gave no response except for an angry look.

Highly recommended is the drinks board for 2 people

Terrible, take a good look at everything up close, and the staff was far from enthusiastic, no, we as a family will certainly not return here.

Voor ons was het de laatste keer. Via social deal een diner bon gekocht voor 28.99 pp, geen hoge verwachtingen, prijs kwaliteit verhouding is dan oke.... Ambiance: Het is erg donker binnen, condense zit op de ramen, personeel zit aan een hoge tafel midden in het restaurant en loopt continu heen en weer, muziek stond erg hard. Eten: Voorgerecht was heerlijk. Hoofdgerecht, patat was niet gaar en niet krokant, de sausjes lopen over de rand heen van het kommetje en de lepel was goed gedept in de mayonaise! Spareribs waren droog en smaakloos net zoals de varkenshaas. Een open keuken is leuk maar je kan ook goed meekijken hoe het er aan toe gaat met de hygiene, zoals hoe een jongen met Airpods in de oren een sorbet opmaakt en met blote handen fruit uit een blik haalt. Erg gedateerd en meer geschikt voor studenten.

After a bad experience a few years ago, I decided to try it again. This is really the last time, price and quality are really bad.

Cup of coffee with a delicious pastry. ☕🍰☕🍰 Especially when the wind blows from the northern corner, it is wonderful to relax here on the terrace!

Great restaurant with great prices and great food. Very friendly service

Yesterday we had dinner with the three of us. Looks like an old brown café and the delicacy is part of it. I was able to quickly select a table and the menus arrived quickly. Drinks were served in no time and this continued to be the case. Starter arrived quickly and tasted great. The main course also came quite quickly and was not of a high standard, but for that you have to go to a real restaurant. It was fine and sufficient. Acoustically the building is dramatic. Since there were many groups, we could not understand each other, but the groups came out loud. Maybe install some wall or ceiling panels. A little more light would also have been nice. Dessert took a while, but was also fine. All in all, a satisfactory price-quality ratio.

The laughing cow's car just passed by in Hoogersmilde. Honk at everyone, 70 where you're allowed 30, raise the middle finger. Nice staff in a company car.

Het licht is erg slecht, de bediening vlak en plichtsmatig, en met name was de vega strudel heel erg slecht. De patat zeer matig.

After having had a nice, cozy and good meal here a few years ago, I wanted to go here again as a surprise, unfortunately, a disappointing experience. Cutlery on the table was dirty, as well as the table, windows and edge of the paneling. The starter was okay (if you like thick lettuce as a garnish), the main courses were not. The snitzel was very greasy, the mixed grill had little flavor. Steak well done and dry, spare ribs dry and tasteless. No marinade or the like. used (as shown on the posters for the unlimited spare ribs menu) Meat served on a cold plate and without any decoration. We complained about this but received no response and had to pay the full amount. Unfortunately, faded glory as far as we are concerned!!

Ate here last week with two friends. So drinks are included via social deal. When we entered we noticed how humid it was, the water was running down the windows. We were taken to a table and quickly given something to drink. And they also continued to drink smoothly, as the glass was empty and you quickly had a new one. The starter was also delivered quite quickly and was tasty. Then it took almost an hour for the main course to arrive, so that took a bit of time. When serving, we immediately indicated that we would like a bowl of fries. Well, we're still waiting for that. The bowl of lettuce was also very little for 3 people. The food was tasty! Then came the dessert, one friend had already received it and two were still waiting. You would like to eat together. All in all, you can have a nice meal there for a good price, but the service is very messy and it doesn't feel cozy.

Soup was broom salt and something was wrong with 2 of the 4 main dishes so they were sent back to the kitchen. Received new dishes, but then the fish turned out to be spoiled. Potatoes were burnt, but not cooked. Fries not crispy, but limp. Restaurant is poorly lit, so several guests had to read the menu using the lights on their phones. In short: definitely not recommended.

A lot from the fryer. And of all the staff, only 1 could smile. The extractor hood didn't seem to be working. Our clothes smelled like we had been stone grilling. Staff with unkempt haircuts stood in the open kitchen. In short. The laughing cow in Drachten is crying with its hat on.

We selected this eatery/restaurant together with friends because the menu looked good and the location was great. Upon entering you will be warmly welcomed and the atmosphere is pleasant. We chose salmon, sole and vegetarian strudel for the menu, which looked delicious on paper.......... well that was a bit disappointing. If I may give some advice: Get better kitchen staff!!!!!!!!! The mustard soup was a bit salty, it looked like a salt shaker had been thrown in it. Despite clearly stating that no lemon should be served on the fish, there was still lemon on it. The fish was neatly taken and 15 minutes later the silt sole was served without lemon. I then cut the vegetarian strudel, it turned out that there were still plastic remains of the puff pastry in it. That was also taken back and served again 15 minutes later (without plastic). Overall a negative experience. We won't be coming back here anytime soon.

As soon as you enter you are shocked by the smell of frying. An average snack bar has a fresher environment to eat. The food is the most unimaginative thing I have ever eaten. Nothing you put in your mouth will put a smile on your face. But what does it matter. It's packed and most people seem to be enjoying it. And it seems cheap. My advice is, for example, go to Bistro Nijeholt in Beetserzwaag. Then you pay almost 7 euros more, but you really enjoy your food. Okay, the wine is not free now, but it is really tasty, unlike the house wine which was free. In short, way too expensive for what you get at the laughing cow.

Good food But it is used as a drinking pub by young people. Suggest her to have unlimited drinks with a two or 3 course menu from the menu. Is your restaurant improving?

Good service and delicious food

No sandwich, no breadboard and old fat.

Made reservations for Friday evening to have dinner with friends. First we were practically handed the menus because the waitress was very busy. Girlfriend (30+) has a hearing aid and the music was very loud. Asked if it could be turned down a little, but we were told that it was a cafe and that they did not want to turn the music down. It's ridiculous that people with disabilities are not taken into account! After having a drink we immediately left and went to another restaurant and had dinner there.

Heerlijke avond gehad, gerechten waren dik in orde. Het was druk maar dankzij het personeel wat geweldig hun best deed liep alles op rolletjes. Vriendelijk en zeer aangenaam. Drankjes werden regelmatig aangevuld. Het was er zeer aangenaam in alle opzichten.

If you like crowds and noise, you've come to the right place. The tables are very close together. The service is quite fast considering the crowds. The kitchen can also handle the capacity well. Our carpaccio was tasty but could not be cut through the sinews. The dressing was applied rather sloppily. Ordered two pork tenderloins. These were fine. Fries weren't really hot. Too bad because it was well cooked. Tiny bowl of lettuce.

We had a nice dinner. It's not a culinary tour de force, but hey, you pay €34.95 for a three-course menu including drinks! (draft beer, house wine and soft drinks) If you are looking for something culinary, you should not go to a cafe. If you just want to eat good food and have a pleasant evening without having to pay the top price, then you can go here. Service is also good, and if you want to choose between The Bears and the laughing cow, I would definitely go for the laughing cow! The steak could have been a little warmer, but otherwise it was fine! I do have a tip if you eat there: sit on the raised part near the light if you want to know what you are eating, or what your table companion looks like... I personally thought the rest of the restaurant was too dark. The atmosphere is nice, but I also want to know what I'm putting in my mouth, so to speak... Tip for the owner: provide better lighting. I've been there twice now and it remains a dark hole. If you are visually impaired, this is not a good restaurant to go to. Oh, and another tip: I thought the dessert tasting was enough for two people! If you like a nice large dessert, choose this one.

Heerlijk eten, eenngoede social deal deal

De saus bij de zalm was ronduit teleurstellend. De muziek stond net iets te hard. Bij het toetje droop slagroom over de rand bij meerdere couverts. Verder prima eten voor weinig (3 gangen).

Uitstekend lunch café, Altijd als we naar Drachten gaan, hier tussen de middag even iets eten en drinken. Het eten is uitstekend, hier krijg je nog een fatsoenlijk portie op je bord. Bediening is altijd vriendelijk.

De werknemers doen hun best! Het eten was redelijk. Oja komen vragen of er van alles genoeg is,wanneer het eten op is..dan ist natuurlijk veel te laat! Toetje was niet goed,zou de eigenaar zou navragen..niet gezien. Oja op zaterdag was het zomaar 5 euro duurder hebben wij nergens zien staan.ach het was ook zo donker dat we moesten bijschijnen met de mobiel. Onvoorstelbaar. Niet weer dus. Ik hen iig niet gelachen.

Leuke tent, wel jammer dat er forse lekkage was op de plek waar wij zaten te eten. Toen we het meldden bleek het bekend, maar er wordt geen actie ondernomen

Duurt erg lang voordat het eten er is, men vergeet je drankjes, tafel wordt niet schoongemaakt ook niet na herhaaldelijk vragen. Bediening is ongeïnteresseerd en komt niet gastvrij over.

Helaas is de lachende koe niet meer de lachende koe vanuit de periode dat ze net waren geopend. Het principe van all-in is wel ideaal. Ook de kaart is uitgebreid genoeg en volop keuze. Kleine tip, bij een bestelling van een biefstuk/mixed-grill. Informeer even hoe deze gebakken gewenst te worden. Was dit keer heel erg taai en niet door te komen. Gelukkig compenseerden de overige gerechten het prima. Qua sfeer mag er wel een klein beetje verbeterd worden. Want begint op sommige plekken een beetje "af te takelen". Al met al prima om even snel een hap te gaan eten.

Prima concept! Leuke vriendelijke bediening. Aardappeltjes mogen wel iets minder vet, iets te lang gebakken/gefrituurd. Prima prijs/kwaliteitverhouding! Ook is de wijn prima te doen. Biefstuk van 200 gram is ook prima. Kruidenboter beetje blend, maar te doen. Gezellig terras. Overall 8.5/10.

Wij wilden nog snel even een hapje eten en pakten het eerste wat we tegenkwamen vanuit het museum. Helaas een zware tegenvaller. Dat je friet zo hard bakt en de keuken uit laat gaan, het beloofde niet op de matige hamburger zit, dan heb je er gewoon geen zin meer in als kok ( naar mijn mening) De bediening had het ook moeten zien. Helaas geen foto's gemaakt. Ik heb er wel wat van gezegd maar daar werd flauwtjes op gereageerd. Eigenlijk hadden we ons onderbuik gevoel moeten volgen toen we gingen zitten en rondkeken ( donker en oude vetlucht) en weg moeten gaan maar we hadden veel tassen bij ons. Aan de eigenaar; doe er wat aan en maak er wat moois van, het kan. Top locatie.

De humoristische naam "De lachende koe" op het restaurant maakte mij zo nieuwsgierig, dat ik naar binnen stapte. Mijn maag rommelde en dan komt het als geroepen wanneer je een vrije tafel vindt. Het duurde heel even voordat ik werd aangesproken, des te vlotter kwam de verfrissing op tafel. Het menu vergde wat bestudering, maar het aanbod om voor een 2 gangen menu te gaan, met vrij drinken erbij voor één vaste prijs, was aanlokkelijk genoeg. Dat had ik nog niet eerder gezien. Terwijl er in de open keuken zichtbaar keihard gewerkt werd, dwaalden mijn ogen richting het plafond, schuimrubber platen hingen her en der los. Vreemd! Deuren waardoor de bediening naar verschillende ruimtes ging zagen er niet erg fris uit. Misschien hoort dat bij een "bruin café". Uiteraard gaat het uiteindelijk wat je op je bord krijgt, nietwaar? "Hiete seg Griette, bloasen seg Jan", zo heet waren die gerechten wel, die even later op tafel stonden. De damp sloeg eraf. Hoewel het geen culinaire hoogstandjes waren, viel de smaak niet tegen, maar het oog wil ook wat! Zo werkt de bediening erg rommelig en dat geeft een gevlieg en een geren langs je tafel. Op topsnelheid werd een biertje op mijn tafel gezet. Het ijs dat ik als desert bestelde, stond al even te wachten in de buurt van de salades. Iemand greep het glas met de sorbet vast, rende ermee naar buiten, naar een van de andere tafels op het terras. "Verkeerd bezorgd" en het sorbetglas kwam weer retour. "Het" stond weer even bij de salades te kijken. Enkele momenten later had de sorbet dan toch mijn tafel gevonden. Hoewel de bolletjes ijs niet groot waren, evenals het toefje slagroom, miste ik wel de aardbeiensaus die de menukaart beloofd had. De vruchtjes in het glas leken zelfs nog wat bevroren te zijn. 't Kan gebeuren! In ieder geval werd het laatste gaatje gevuld en de honger gestild. Aan het eind stond het afgesproken bedrag voor de deal op de kassabon. Eerlijk is eerlijk, een volle maag, en voor dat bedrag mag je niet mopperen.

Ook hier is het.softijs heerlijk en je kunt lekker op het teras je ijsje op eten

Krokante kip was heerlijk. Mix grill het vlees was erg droog.

Eten was prima, onder het personeel was er iets gaande kon je merken dit kwam de sfeer niet ten goede. In een uur waren we dan ook uitgegeten en en weggegaan. Geen gezellige sfeer helaas

Uitsmijter viel tegen, 3x zacht bruin brood op een hoop zonder boter! Daarbovenop 3 spiegel eieren en daar bovenop weer op een hoop 2 a 3 plakken slijmerige kaas. We zaten buiten en naast ons begon iemand driftig te roken, sorry maar wat is dat vies bij het eten. De koffie zou beter kunnen. Toilet bezoek nodigd ook niet uit. Jammer maar wij vinden het niet meer zo als voorheen.....

Wat een fijne plek! Fijne muziek, een vriendelijke ober en lekker eten. Ik had de tomatensoep en brood met dip. Een genot!

Altijd goed, lekker en betaalbaar.

Was een zeer mooi en prettig eetcafé met vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Ik heb er met mijn dochter een heerlijk drie gangen diner gegeten.

Een supergezellig eetcafé met de beste 80’s hits! Je wordt direct vriendelijk ontvangen door de manager of een van de enthousiaste collega’s. Er heerst een ontspannen sfeer en zeker voor de prijs is het eten top. Schone toiletten en ook de service is meestal snel. Kortom, een zaak die een bezoekje waard is voor een bedrijfsdiner, een leuke date of gezellig uitje.

Geweldige restaurant hele leuke personeel en goed eten
