There was a wide choice of restaurants in the area. We aren't from the neighborhood, so what do you choose then...? We chose this place anyway and are very satisfied! A cozy spot at a high table, friendly staff, and the price/quality ratio was excellent! A very extensive menu including various schnitzels, burgers, steak, satay, etc. A full plate including salad and fries. We had a delicious starter, main course, and dessert. A large strawberry ice cream sundae for only 4.50! We will definitely come back here again, highly recommended!

Great service and friendly fresh vegetables

The food was delicious, but the service is very to very poor. Guests have to wait far too long before they are served. Empty items are not cleared from the tables. We were also charged for one extra drink: Ice tea that was on our bill. It was for another guest (different table). There is absolutely no system to the service. No order of work.. It could certainly be better.

Went out for dinner today and had to wait 40 minutes for our food. The hamburger was a flat, overcooked, dry piece of meat. We pointed this out when paying. The reaction was, "Oh, then the hamburger received too much attention." That was the only reaction! That means you aren't taken seriously 😩

The food is good, for a reasonable price.

Unfortunately, it seems like they are being brought down by their own success. Nothing can go right anymore with an order, whether picking up or eating there. Something always goes wrong. Today they don't get something again. Ordered pork tenderloin satay twice with peanut sauce on the side. What did I get? Two pork tenderloin satays in a container with the peanut sauce poured over them and another two small cups of peanut sauce on the side... Even the bami disc was way too soft, no crispy coating. And we have been going there for many years. I go there less and less often.

No tasty fries rule, this is for such a good place and this is what I find, and those employees don't even know what they are doing.

It is a shame that I have to find my order in this condition…

You don't give 1 star lightly. We have had the experience several times that food or options were missing from an order. Based on our experience today, we have decided not to order from the Horizon anymore. With some menus, you can choose potatoes instead of fries when ordering online, but that costs extra. The last time I picked up my order, I received a comment because I had added that as a remark. I explained that the option was not available online, to which they indicated they would do something about it. Wanted to order online today and again the option wasn't available for multiple menus! So I called the Horizon and reported the “problem,” eventually placing the order by phone. Paid, but no potatoes.. 2 x €0.75 is €1.90? The frikandel was also missing.

Good cafeteria, friendly staff, and you can sit there quietly and finish your food. Despite the crowds, no problems with orders.

Grabbed a quick lunch on a long bike ride; quite a crowd at lunchtime for such a small village. You can't go wrong with 2 croquettes with bread, and they tasted fine. Unfortunately, I was short on time because I had to catch the Pannerden ferry further down the road. It didn't help that the waitress serving the terrace had absolutely no idea who was coming to sit on the terrace and in what order. I was noticed, but it took 15 minutes before my order was taken, while people who came after me had already finished their drinks. So I just asked for attention, and the order was taken with visible reluctance; I wolfed it down like a rocket and made the ferry just in time.

Spent about 1.5 hours on a Friday evening at Eetwinkel De Horizon for a tasty meal. Fast service, good quality food, and a cozy atmosphere 🍟

What a terrible place! We ate here once a week and it was always great, but the service has gone downhill. All they did was chatter with each other and wait 45 minutes for food.

Very bad monthly menu: stew with rösti, beef stew, no beef to be found, rösti soaked in frying oil. I mentioned it to the manager but nothing was done about it. Shame.

The food is delicious. Unfortunately, sometimes things go wrong with pickup. You might miss something from your order, or the fries and sauce might be a bit skimpy. The times given for pickup often run late. Something to keep in mind if you're short on time. The atmosphere inside is often chaotic; the conservatory feels more relaxed. One tip: it's very thoughtful to have a large bowl of loose mints, but perhaps replace those with individually wrapped mints for a more hygienic experience.

You can eat well there and get top-notch service. Definitely recommended.

On vacation near this Eetwinkel. The name doesn't really do it justice, it's a fantastic restaurant. It looks beautiful and cozy. I picked up my food and received quick and friendly service. My order was ready quickly and tasted delicious. The peanut sauce was truly divine. A fantastic experience!

Unfortunately, I've had a disappointing experience with the quality of the food in recent times. Last time, there was very little sauce on the frikandellen speciaal (special frikandellen); there was even more onion than sauce. It's a shame, because we ordered enough frikandellen to make it right. Furthermore, they always cater to gluten-free products; these are neatly packaged separately and clearly labeled.

Two days of delicious food, definitely recommended. Wide selection of starters, main courses, and desserts. Friendly staff. Reservations recommended.

We were on holiday in the area for a week. We came here earlier this week for an Indo schnitzel and steak. We thought it was just a regular snack bar, but we were pleasantly surprised. Both dishes were delicious, with a lovely fresh homemade salad and coleslaw. The price was also great! We ate here again today because the pizzeria was full. Despite being very busy, we managed to get a table. This time we had the fish & chips and the schnitzel with brie, honey, and walnuts. Also very tasty. The staff were friendly, and despite it being busy, we didn't have to wait very long.

A fun outing with volunteers ended with a delicious meal at Horizon, with friendly and helpful staff. Despite the crowds, service was smooth.

0 stars. Been there many times. Bought a family bag of fries, etc., and they were always overcooked and greasy, resembling chips. Threw them away, no refund. Complaints aren't addressed, and nothing is improved. Young employees who work there came in with McDonald's food and ate it. They don't even want to buy and eat their snacks at this restaurant. I was amused by how this happened while I was waiting. I won't go there again. Food preparations were botched.

The food was delicious, and the cafeteria was beautiful and cozy, with good and friendly service. Normally, I wouldn't call a cafeteria a place to dine, but this is more of a restaurant with a lovely terrace AND, importantly, they're dog-friendly. Absolutely fantastic! If we vacation in the area again, we'll definitely go back. Highly recommended!

Price quality is fine. Order regularly. Only now three times mistakes in my order. Once pork tenderloin satay where the whole satay was forgotten. Then once ordered schnitzel but got the wrong sauce. And once I ordered a separate pork tenderloin satay and it was listed as a menu. I had ordered separate fries so double fries. Too bad! Otherwise fine. Update: now ordered again and again a menu price is charged. It's getting really crazy now!

Were here for the first time today and we are thrilled, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, the food was very tasty and visually very appealing, the offer of a 3-course menu is particularly noteworthy. We have eaten at De Horizon before, so we thought it was time for some words of praise. We had a delicious meal together and enjoyed a schnitzel and chicken satay menu. Restaurant-worthy layout (plate presentation) of what is served. The price-quality-quantity ratio is nicely balanced. Quite cozy inside and, if the weather permits, a nice large covered (partly heated) terrace outside. It was quite busy on the afternoon of Sunday... good sign! ...however, fast service from friendly staff. More than enough parking options in and around the business. Toilet facilities are not extensive, but are just as important: neat and clean. Soooo... see you next time!

Service very nice. I go there often and unfortunately the floor always gets dirty and the table gets sticky. I go there every two months and I notice more and more that it is getting dirtier. Hope it changes again. I like sitting outside there in the summer. Unfortunately, food always tastes different and I always take the same thing. But service as I said was very friendly.👍🏼

Nice place with plenty of choice for vegetarians. Nice interior. And many choices on the menu. Fries were good, I would just prefer regular fries over the thinner ones. Nice staff. We go there often and it is always great.

For the third time now I received a burnt and overly greasy snack. I can understand that something like this can happen when baking. What I don't understand is how you dare to share this. Employees working under pressure? Too young. There is a structural problem with quality control.

Also available for pick-up for fries, snacks, ice cream, etc. Dining area nice menu, schnitzel, steak, burgers etc. We had a nice meal here, schnitzel for me and fries with frikadel for my daughter and with apple sauce. Nice opportunity for a quick bite to eat.

September 12, 24..2 And back again, but now for lunch, the fried eggs were perfect and the carpaccio (without bread because of KHA food) was delicious and more than sufficient. We highly recommend Eetwinkel De Horizon, especially because it is much tastier than the restaurant at the nearby Landal park. We actually wanted to know this at the start of our 2 week holiday...

This afternoon I was again in this restaurant. I ordered ribs... The presentation and quality of the dish was very good. If last time they forgot to bring cutlery, this time they brought it right away.
