Unworthy of Ekmekci in terms of service and atmosphere. Upon entering, we had to squeeze through a group of young people who were smoking in the doorway because of the rain. A lady who said something about it to the staff was yelled at that they could stand there, while the smell of smoke hung inside. The cards we were given were pasted, which made the decision that we only had a drink here and then left again. The pin machine did not work, so I had to go further down the road to withdraw money, after which the wrong amount was also charged. Bizarre that an owner does nothing about smoking guests in the store and that a visitor is also yelled at about it. We were sitting with a baby and even that did not make the staff do anything about it.

I worked there the food is not fresh the plates are not clean the tuna is 5 days old it stinks the vegetables are old the chickens are 2 weeks old doner is not fresh

Excellent breakfast with a variety.Food was lovely and drinks very enjoyable.Only 1 person is working there so you must be prepared to wait a little bit.Although nice experience!

Unfriendly staff. Waited 60 minutes for my food. The woman behind the counter was on her phone the whole time.

Hair came out of my salad, and they blamed us. We also wanted our money back, but we didn't get it because they didn't have cash in the register.

A very disappointing experience at Ekmekci on Bos en Lommerplein. I've rarely been treated so poorly in a restaurant as I was here. Even though the place was practically empty, I had to wait an absurdly long time for my order. No apologies, no explanation—just plain disinterest. What made it even worse was the rude attitude of the staff. As if you were bothering them by even ordering something. Finally, the hygiene is seriously lacking. Tables were dirty, the floor was sticky, and everything looked unkempt. This is definitely not a place I'll ever return to, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Food was OK, but now no wow. Unfortunately the tables were dirty. These weren't cleaned specifically when we sat down.

We came in and everything was dirty, from tables to chairs. A young boy in the kitchen was eating something and uninterested. There was no greeting or anything else. We couldn't choose a place because it was so dirty, used gloves were on chairs, no idea what for. We left quickly, without ordering anything. It's a shame, that square is a beautiful place and I think there is enough potential.

Not recommended! Made me sick! When I walked into the shop I saw two young guys working. No problem but they didn't really clean. One was doing nothing and the other was eating his own food with his hands and preparing my food at the same time. Then I was allowed to choose a spot to sit. But everywhere was literally filthy. From chairs to the table and the floor. Once I got my food it didn't look and wasn't filled. I looked at the mince and it was very hard and unchewable. I literally had to take the mince off to be able to eat it properly. During checkout they didn't even have change and the manager had me wait until one of the guys had to get change and the process was not customer-oriented. After my experience with this tent I had a lot of problems with my stomach and intestines. After a few days my complaints had not gone away. This tent MUST have another guidance or close.

Super kind staff and amazing food! Had an amazing chai latte and I loved the jazz music! Great views too and lots of booths by the windows. I recommend the baklava. Highly recommend this spot: )

Tried the Mexican chicken and beef. Was amazing!!! Very flavorful. The staff were nice and had a good atmosphere. Would love to try other things too. Only thing would be better is to offer a slightly bigger size/portion.

Not recommended. After having been to another branch of this eatery a few times, we went to this branch in Amsterdam Bos en Lommerplein for breakfast. When we met, two boys aged 14 and 15 were already in the kitchen making food. Bad food. Even though the boys did their best, you really can't expect these guys to prepare decent food. The Gozleme is made from Lebanese bread. The boys were offering themselves more than the guests. Bread was cold and really expired. Definitely not recommended. It took an hour for those boys to finish preparing dinner.

What a disappointment. There are two kiddies working here who neither know what a Gözleme is nor are they able to serve people. You wait forever for the food to arrive, the tables are completely dirty and not cleaned and people leave the shop annoyed because they have to wait too long even for tea.

Today we ordered and picked up lunch with colleagues, and it was a huge disappointment. The buns were extremely dry, flat and very tasteless. The filling was so minimal that we wondered if there was anything in there at all. In addition, everything was out of stock in the middle of the day, no mushrooms and no feta, how can a place that makes gözleme not have feta cheese at 12 o'clock, we thought it was strange. We really regret spending our money on this. This was our worst lunch experience ever. Very unfortunate!

The man behind the counter smokes cigarettes and doesn't wash his hands. After I spoke to him about it, he became aggressive and bad-tempered!

Everything was deliciously freshly prepared, we received an extensive luxurious breakfast and unlimited large glasses of Turkish tea. In addition, the restaurant is nicely decorated and very clean. We enjoyed it and will definitely come back., Highly recommended!!

When we were served this, we had breakfast and it also seemed old and spoiled, like the olives and some kind of spread, the bread was on the hard side. And the service could certainly be a lot better. Never again.

DON’T GO TO THIS PLACE! You arrive and literally you don’t know how you can order, there was just a single man that didn’t pay attention to the customers, in his phone. (We could figure out how to order thanks to the machine that is next to the door that says that for ordering in the machine is just take away, for eating in you should seat in a table and order with the QR code) Once we sat down, the table was really dirty, with food from other past customers. We ordered two cappuccino, one with oat milk (due to there was an option in the menu) and one Mexican bowl. After ordering he said to us that he didn’t have any beef, if was fine with chicken. After waiting around 15min (there was only one single table more) he placed our order. We realised that when he was pouring the milk in the coffees he was looking to us to make sure that we were not paying attention so he could use the same milk for both cappuccino (my girlfriend is intolerant to milk). As we were looking to him, when he gave us our coffees, was in that moment that he told us that he didn’t have any oat milk, when he could told us at the same time as he told us about the beef. At the end he didn’t have any options for my girlfriend so she couldn’t have her coffee. We end up me eating by myself and my girlfriend just looking. The coffee was disgusting and the food was not worth it for the price.

This place is amazing from the loaded fries to the gozleme even the drinks are delicious. The atmosphere is relaxt and the owner youssef was very kind and a great host. I will definitly come back to this place.

Inside it smells very bad of oil. Chairs/benches are very dirty and there were still food scraps on the tables from previous visitors. Finally brought the food; When ordering it said that the small hair salon was "sold out". There were no more bags so this had to be taken from the warehouse :)

Delicious food in a cozy restaurant

Very amateur working people. They neither pay attention to their uniform nor their nails. Dirty utensils are araising everywhere. Finally, waiter wated from us to change our table while we were on the half way of our meals. I don't recommend that place.

I really don't understand how this location is displayed properly on Google? Literally the worst tent I've ever been to. Breakfast was dramatic beyond words. Gozleme order what do you get? Prepared lovage with minimal filling, see photo. A real waste of money. You also wait an hour before you get your food. They barely have any staff and they don't even speak proper Dutch. Never again for us!

Unfortunately, it was a very bad experience. The air filter was not activated, so we became very stinky because of it ,The sits were dirty, and we didn't get Smit with our order, and the place is not matching the reviews

Disappointing Experience! The quality did not match the reviews. We were disappointed to find no simit (sesame bread), and the Gözleme was so empty that all we could taste was the bread. Additionally, the service left much to be desired, and the entire place had an unpleasant odor.

The staff is very cheerful, kind and fast, plus the setting is very nice with the tree in the middle of the restaurant, it is very friendly. The fries are very good as well as the kumpir and the gözle, I recommend 100%

Unfortunately we couldn't eat there. I had made a reservation for yesterday at 10am, but after that hour the restaurant was still closed. I tried calling and nothing, no one's name on it. We mainly came here for more than 30 km and unfortunately had to look for another place where we could have breakfast.

Went to lunch with a colleague. The food was tasty, we had gozlme. The restaurant was not tidy, our table was dirty with leftovers from the previous visitor. Management could try harder. During checkout the cashier was on the phone while she was talking to me at the same time. I hope something is done with the feedback because I think it's a nice concept.

After ordering, I was asked several times what was ordered. The entire time, employees were yelling at each other. After half an hour only some of the food arrived, and after a total of 45 minutes the drinks we ordered arrived. After about an hour we left the restaurant without eating. Apologies were made several times. Rarely seen such chaos.

Had a “gozleme” and to call what they’re doing a gozleme is an insult to the real dish. You must use a saj to cook this, and I didn’t see a saj. Secondly, you must use butter on the outside of the filo while on saj so it doesn’t become dry, again they didn’t do this. Lastly, they literally put fries in the potato version 😂 you’re meant to use mashed potatoes mixed with onions, spices etc. for the potato filling What they’re selling is NOT gozleme, it’s still decent food but not a gozleme.

We have been to Ekmekci before. The first time we were advised to use the QR code to order. No sooner said than done. Half an hour later we still hadn't received anything, even though the entire restaurant was almost empty. The manager was arguing on the phone, female employee was sitting around doing nothing. There was only 1 boy who was very sweet & very helpful. He tried to help us immediately. Unfortunately, he is treated inhumanely. Instead of that the manager and his wife were going to apologize, this boy did. All Mr. Manager can do is delegate tasks and not take responsibility for the mess he causes. It's that I don't know the language, otherwise I would have gotten a good dose of juice on the phone. To the young employee, chapeu! You literally run the whole place there by yourself. May Allah reward you insallah!

The food was tasty but there is a lot of room for improvement in terms of service. The gentleman is very loud and talks a lot unnecessarily. You will also be asked if you would like sauce with your meal and you will eventually be served a meal-worthy platter of mezze's. This only happened after all the gozlemes were gone. It was also a shame that we were not able to eat 90% of the mezze dish. I will avoid this location of ekmekci from now on.

I bet all comments are fake I’ve been waiting my order for 2 hours and now it says it’s been delivered, but nothing has arrived. Later, the gözlemes that arrived are completely dry and cold. When I ate at the restaurant, they couldn’t even prepare a single gözleme in an hour, and the delivery service is even worse.

Today, October 18, 2024, I visited Ekmekci in Bos en lommer in Amsterdam with my niece. The first time we arrived was 12:40. We saw that not a single table was free and was still full of trays and food remains from previous orders that had not been cleared away. So we were forced to sit by the window, which we actually didn't like. I sat at table 4 and my niece at table 5. We placed our orders online with a QR code and paid at 12:45. My order was ready fifteen minutes later and was brought to my table. Then my niece still had to get her order. 45 minutes later she still didn't have it. During this hour of waiting, all the tables that were still dirty were still not cleared, which meant that other guests even came and sat and left. Next to us were a number of tourists who also waited a long time for their food. During this time while waiting, I only saw 2 employees working in the kitchen and the other 2 'ladies' were sitting outside drinking a cup of coffee and smoking. This is very unprofessional, while your restaurant is dirty and guests are waiting for an hour for their order. My niece decided to ask how long her order would take. The employee indicated that her order was not in the system and he did not receive a receipt. She HAD to show her debit amount to ensure she would get her food. After indicating this, it took another fifteen minutes until her order was ready. In the meantime, one of the employees also started eating in between meals and we saw this. I ordered some fries myself and I saw with my own eyes that the fries were already ready, but that they had put them back in the fryer for 30 seconds. The fries also came to our table very hard and brown. We really didn't think this was okay. After my niece's order arrived, everything had already become cold. During this time, the 2 ladies were still smoking outside, while the entire restaurant was a mess! When we wanted to leave we wanted to mention the fries. The gentleman did not let us finish and immediately offered the money back for the fries, even though we did not ask for it. I would also like to say that the 2 ladies were wearing very inappropriate clothing. So we waited an hour and fifteen minutes in total for food and also received fries that were well done twice! This is scandalous!

Most traumatic experience ever. I thought I would have a nice afternoon lunch with my kids. Let me say that the owner and a female colleague were friendly. But very ignorant, chaotic, slow, and you always forgot something with customers. He remembers nothing, and then: sorry, what did you want again after 30 minutes!!! We waited a total of 1 hour for our bland food. When we were there, customers had gotten up and left. I thought it was a nice place, it has potential, but this way you won't have any customers left. Never again for us.

Very disappointed. I had a good experience eating there, but there was a mistake in the billing and the restaurant owner starting SHOUTING at me when he refused to reimburse me for the incorrect charge to my card. Extremely rude and explosive TEMPER. Completely unprofessional and absolutely toxic.
