Elhorst Alkmaar in Centrum

The drinks were fine. Good value for money. The lunch menu is decent. Quite a reasonable selection. I opted for the Caesar. It was a good sandwich. I just thought it was a shame that the quality of the chicken was noticeably poor. I would consider going back.

Charming restaurant with helpful, friendly staff. I had a high ice tea with my 12-year-old daughter. The sandwiches could be customized to her liking! Very nice. The ice tea was also delicious! The food was so delicious that we couldn't finish it. Highly recommended.

Today my girlfriend and I went to eat cake. The cake looked delicious, but from the first bite we both noticed that it was not fresh. It was obvious that it had been made a long time ago.

This is really a smokers' tent. Smoking is allowed both inside and outside. Also under the canopy, where smoking is completely prohibited in the Netherlands. However, drinks were brought along properly and to my satisfaction. After I asked a few Germans to stop smoking, they stopped. Then Dutch people came along and even ashtrays were offered, under a canopy and under parasols. They should have been denied access. The law clearly states: "The outdoor terrace is located in the open air." That was clearly not the case. It's like going back in time 50 years. It's just that I was free and didn't feel like carrying out a citizen's arrest for my right to inviolability of my body. It was brought along fine, but this really deserves a report to the NVWA. Smoking is only allowed in the open air and must not cause any nuisance to people inside. This also includes our own staff. Even if they smoke themselves, the NVWA can still label it as a nuisance.

We sat outside and no one came to take the order. Finally walked in myself.

A delicious Hot Chocolate Brownie

Ooit een van de betere lunchrooms , helaas was het afgelopen zondag een ander verhaal mijn man kreeg eerst het broodje , ik na een half uur en onze zoon kreeg niks paar keer gevraagd waar het eten en drinken bleef maar werd door het jonge personeel weggewuifd, geen tweede keer meer

Wil je een gezellige, mooi aangeklede en heerlijke high tea babyshower, dan ben je bij Elhorst aan het juiste adres! Als je voor de uitgebreide versie gaat, krijg je een lekker soepje, wrap, prosecco, jus d’orange, hartige broodjes en veel lekkere zoetigheden. Ook hele fijne bediening.

It was my mother's birthday, she got a lemon cake here and it was not tasty, not dirty, but just not tasty. I wait for improvement

A mediocre experience at Elhorst: Floor roll of warm ham: The floor roll was tough and the ham was not properly warm. The knives could also be sharpened or replaced, they are very dull. You expect a crispy, fresh sandwich at a sandwich shop, but that was very disappointing. There were also food scraps on the floor from previous guests, all of which had already been trampled by other guests. Bah! This is not a calling card for your business. Elhorst is deteriorating, there seems to be no enthusiasm anymore. Shame! The two of you pay 30 euros for that.

I came here more than 40 years ago. The food was different then, but good. Nowadays the place is beautiful and atmospheric. The menu is original in terms of names. The food is prepared with care and looks "clean". Lettuce is the way lettuce should be and the rolls are fresh and delicious. This restaurant has grown so much over the years in everything! My compliments!

Shopping in Alkmaar on Friday and then a nice lunch at Elhorst! Delicious food, every time.

Went through a report and had a kind of cream puff that was very tasty.

Not worth repeating. The service was neat, nothing to complain about. The coffee was excellent and adding a glass of (still) water was no problem. The brown bun with carpaccio was actually quite tasteless except for the dressing, which was much too sweet. But the special special (cheese, roast beef and ham) was really worth crying over. On two thin slices of pathetic factory (brown) bread (on the menu "farmland bread") that seemed to have come out of the freezer in terms of temperature, were those square slices of cheese, on top of which slices of cheap pressed ham and exactly one slice of roast beef. This was all stone cold (cheese not melted, meats not fried). Separately on that pile were 3 small fried eggs, the whites of which had not yet set. The whole thing was tasteless, lifeless and just plain cold. The only upside was that the bouncer was taken off the bill after my complaints. That's neat. The website and restaurant signs state "freshly made lunch with love and passion". Unfortunately, I haven't been able to discover any love or passion or anything fresh about it, unfortunately.

De kwaliteit/kwantiteit/prijsverhouding is de laatste tijd vér te zoeken bij Elhorst. Nog niet zo heel lang geleden kreeg je er wat bijzonders, met 'winnende broodjes. Nu is het assortiment sterk vereenvoudigd en de prijzen zijn écht niet leuk meer: 13, 50 Euro voor een simpele witte vloerbol met twee plakjes carpaccio en een heel klein beetje rucola, pijnboompit en parmezaanvlokjes er over kan gewoon écht niet. buiten de Amsterdamse Van Baerlestraat. (verschil: bij Elhorst spreken ze nog Nederlands...) En dat is dan nog maar één van de goedkopere broodjes ... = Het is mooi geweest - ik kom hier niet meer terug, bij Backwerk 100 meter verderop kost een betere kwaliteit en hoeveelheid nog niet de helft.

A coffee and an orange juice for 13 euros... It's not cheap here, but the rest is fine. Friendly service, quick and friendly.

very poor service, no one came to us, we had to call all the time to place an order. We couldn't even ask to pay, so we decided to go inside and pay there. No one paid attention to us or anyone else.

Food is of good quality! There are so many delicious choices that it is difficult to order something every time.

Unfriendly waitress. Looks like I was bothering her and I just ordered coffee. I also ordered a chocolate brownie and got a chocolate cake. The cake was bad : tons of sugar and no flavour. Certainly not going back.

Nice, cozy place! Kids toast was more than enough, nicely served. Club sandwich was also a lot, nicely served. Small point of criticism, a little more sauce could have been added. But very tasty! Homemade ice tea with lemon & lime was also sublime. Hot chocolate with delicious whipped cream and apple pie. Top shop in the middle of Alkmaar! Wonderful stopover.

Be sure to try the Elhorst tea. If you like fresh spicy tea, this is recommended.

I don't judge the food (but judging by other people's comments, it was tasty) because I ordered coffee and chocomelk with whipped cream and caramel. It tasted sweet :) there is also a coloring corner for children, so I highly recommend it! The downside is that the tables are next to each other right next to the door, so it's very tight... you can hear what the people at the other table are saying :(

Bought pastries at their new shop next to the lunchroom, thought they were very poor quality and expensively priced, will never get them here again, which is a downer. Tastes like frozen pastries and for that price

Favorite place to eat in Alkmaar. Come here often, never disappoint. They have a super extensive food menu and many coffee specials. I also really like the price-quality ratio. It's cheap in my opinion for what you get. Delicious!

Very tasty, differently prepared coffees, with caramel or with speculoos or….or…. Many different sandwiches, toasts, salads, hamburgers or simply different croquettes. There are also fries. The selection is very extensive, also in the cake area. All in all, very large and deliciously prepared meals.

Service is consistently good, even when a bit busier, four stars for the occasional minor error on repeat orders (ordering a coffee with syrup, repeat ordering and then getting a coffee without syrup). Food quality is very good, food is tasty. Unfortunately, a large number of things have been removed from the menu, namely everything with goat cheese.

Ambience quite pleasant. You had to wait a long time for service and drinks, even though there were many service staff on site. Tomato soup was standard and not well seasoned and the club sandwich only had packaged sausage instead of real chicken, which was a shame. Drinks were good though.

Nice, cozy place and good service. Menu very extensive, but it was a lot of ready-made food and tasteless. The bun was not fresh, the boiled egg was so hard-boiled that it also confirmed the suspicion that it was not freshly cooked, roast beef was also "factory roast beef" and there was no taste... for the price asked, you can. expect fresher food. In short; great experience, but a shame that the quality of the food is not top notch.

Elhorst is really a place where I just walk to when I'm in the city, to relax and give my feet a rest from shopping. You will receive a very warm welcome here from the owner and staff. The cappucino is so delicious! Difficult to choose from the menu because you actually want to order everything ;) the food is served creatively, a party on your plate. De Laat (street) has just been renovated, it's really nice to sit here. The only point: the toilet is upstairs, so you have to climb stairs. So if you have difficulty walking you can easily eat here if you don't have to go to the toilet :)

Delicious tall tea, a bit of a shame that there was no air conditioning.

We deliberately made a stop here on the way from Limburg to Texel. After being completely ignored for half an hour, we got up and left to catch the ferry in Den Helder. My wife said: "I'm going to the toilet now and talk to them!" I then said: "You can't do that. They certainly like us, right?" Pity.

Had a high tea today at Elhorst Alkmaar. Personally, I thought the high tea was quite simple and the sweet snacks seemed to have been taken out of a box. I didn't think the high tea was value for money. Fortunately the staff was very friendly!
