Short rib pita is super delicious hummus is smooth as silk falafel is crunchy and green like the Amazons service is super friendly inside looks spacious and comfortable. Congratulations to everyone involved. I will definitely visit them every time I am in Amsterdam

Had lunch on Saturday afternoon around 2:30 pm. Spacious terrace, was full because of the nice weather. Despite that, we were still able to get a spot outside. It was quite warm that day and it was also full inside! I think that says something about the quality of the place. Had to wait a very long time before we got a menu, at least 20 minutes. In the meantime, we had already looked up the menu on the website. After ordering the food, it also took a very long time before it was brought. We ordered a chicken platter and the Hummus, it was really great! Worth the wait, everything was fresh, the pita breads too! In terms of waiting time, you need some patience, but if you take that into account, you will have a great time 😊

Super yummy food and perfect service! We ordered Esh Hummus, Falafel Pita and Labaneh to eat and Nana to drink, and everything was soo tasty!

Lovely vibes! Unfortunately I didn’t actually try the middle eastern cuisine, but the pizza was delicious! The combination of Goatcheese, honey and arugula was delicious! There are lots of seats outdoors and it’s got a lovely ambiance to the place. Would recommend to anyone! FYI, you’re better off booking a table as it gets busy. 🤩

Had the Shortrib Pita. The meat is slow cooked, like pulled beef. So many great flavors, one of the best I have ever tasted. You can sit outside too.

The place is huge and beautiful, with impeccable decor. The menu isn’t very extensive, but everything we ordered was delicious — the pita bread is definitely worth a visit, the best I’ve ever had. Plus, the prices are fair and the location is excellent. It’s definitely worth a visit!

Best pita and hummus you can find

The food is something different than pizza or burgers, it all tastes very good, must be because of the fresh ingredients. The quality of the pita bread was excellent and was freshly prepared like the other dishes. The portion size is generous and definitely fills you up. The service is friendly and accommodating.

If you love garlic with something nearby, this is the place for you... All the dishes, from pizzas to rest, have plenty of it. If you don't love it, don't worry, the rest is onion.

Had a delicious takeaway pita. It was a busy evening but the staff properly managed our expectations with a smile and easily delivered within the time they estimated. Lovely falafel with a crunch and a soft inside. Tasteful tomato salad, fresh pita and a very smooth hummus. Would definitely recommend!

Really delicious, generous portions, vegetarian and meat options, tasty cocktails. I had hummus and pita and coffee, my group had chicken shawarma sandwich, chicken shawarma plate, and falafel plate. Everyone was very happy!

Highly recommend the food, fresh, delicious - really good, on our four-night stay we went each evening. The pitta with veal kebab was very good, falafel and shawarma good too. Service is terrible and lets Esh down. If the food hadn't been great we wouldn't have bothered again. Twice we waited 20 minutes to even be brought a menu, on the third night our food took 45 minutes to arrive. Fourth time we were wise so asked for a menu then got the person to take our order. The table staff are young, nice and polite but not very well trained.

AMAZING authentic Mediterranean experience- not to miss while in Amsterdam. We loved the sampler dinner that allows guests to taste practically everything on the menu. Service was excellent and the ambiance is super fun. Loved the Cava and the homemade hummus - the gluten free pita was perfect. can’t wait to return on a future Amsterdam visit.

While on our holiday to Amsterdam we’ve been to Esh Pitabar TWICE! The first time the schwarma was so well seasoned and tasty that we had to have our least meal here before going home. The Parma fries were also nice and fresh. Really recommend for a not too expensive meal.

The best falafel of my life. Every flavour sweet salty spicy Smokey in every bite perfectly balanced. Could not recommend more. The zoug is not particularly spicy though. Maybe could do with more of a kick but everything else was fantastic.

We settled down in the sun at Esh Pitabar, hungry, thirsty and a bit euphoric because of the spring and the prospect of what the day would bring us. The waiter came over, friendly, but visibly confused. He started in English. We in Flemish. It's in English again. We are in Flemish again. Strange, because... he just spoke Dutch to his colleagues. It went like that for a while. As if we were participating in an experimental language project at the University of Amsterdam. Anyway, there was wine. And then everything becomes more fluid. I ordered pita chicken shawarma. She the humus. And then came the flatbread. Best described as a cloud that decided to be edible... Deliciously eaten, wonderfully seated. And even though the waiter didn't know which language we actually spoke, he knew how to serve us well.

What an outstanding dinner we had at Esh. The atmosphere is convivial and friendly (with a great patio), the service was warm and knowledgeable, and the food was top notch. We wanted to try both the pizza and the Middle Eastern specialties, so we went with the Margarita (always good to get a baseline on the pizza) and the chicken shawarma plate. The pizza was delicious. It had a Neapolitan size, but more of a crispy crust which was really nice texturally. The chicken was marinated and flavorful and the hummus was top notch. The drink program was nicely curated with some really interesting options. I wanted something non alcoholic and went for a grapefruit lime spritz that was fantastic. Sort of like a virgin Paloma. We just moved into the neighborhood and this is a perfect place for a delicious casual dinner. Highly recommended!

Don't order the new tomato juice they have: Minute maid tomato. They have replaced the Big Tom with this tomato juice. It tastes artificial and disgusting. I asked to spoke to manager to give feedback but they never showed up. The food is still good.

Really nice gem outside of the city center. The meals are large and very tasty. I recommend pizza with goat cheese and hummus with chicken, the taste is really nice. The bread is freshly baked. We will definitely return here

The food was fine but they marketed it as if it were Israeli. There is no such thing as Israeli cuisine. It was all stolen from Palestine. Or as Ottolenghi chef Sami Tamimi aptly writes: With the occupation of Palestine, not only the land, but also some of its culinary traditions, have been claimed by Israel. Tamimi criticizes restaurants in Europe that call themselves Israeli but serve Palestinian food. "Sometimes they don't even bother to change the name of the dish, then it has an Arabic name. I grew up in Jerusalem in the 1970s, I certainly know what Jewish residents ate. Many had never heard of tahini. I have nothing against Israelis, or anyone else, preparing or enjoying Palestinian food. But don't claim it as yours. So much has already been taken from us, there is so much trauma and displacement. At least give us that recognition.

We had a very good dinner today :)) I made a reservation which is definitely recommended !! Sadly they were already out of two things I chose from the menu :/ But my friends named it the “best dinner we had during our time in Amsterdam” It was really delicious and such a nice evening. Got a terrible food poisoning in this place. Please avoid it‼️I was literally sick for 4 days, one of the worst pains of my life. Was not able to stand up, had the worst fever ever, couldn’t even drink water without vomiting. Please don’t go to this restaurant

Esh has the best hummus in Amsterdam and there isn’t a close second. All of their food is incredibly tasty and their gozas (homemade sodas) are also something you must try. In a city with 1,000,000 Esh is one of the only restaurants my wife and I have visited 5+ times over the last 1.5 years. Cannot recommend this spot enough!

It was a sunny day, we were sat outside. 3-4 waiters in the entire facility. Waiters forgot about us for a while (no menu, no interaction, dirty table for 10 minutes), then got our order. It took 40 minutes for the food to be prepared. Knowing these dishes from home, it shouldn't take as long. We were brushed off by the team, saying "it's on the way". Schnitzel bites is just 3 pieces of chicken (9€). Mediocre hummus plate (12€), no salt. Kebabs plate (19€) were also mediocre. The size of the dishes is also not proportionate. The 2 things we liked- fries (6€) were good. Pita bread (complimentary with food) was fluffy and soft. But for that price point and long time of waiting for the food and it not being worth the wait, we can't recommend this establishment. 😞

10/10 the food was spectacular, the gluten free pita/flat bread was one of the best gf alternatives I’ve had in Amsterdam. The service was impeccable.

Since from the beginning everyone was nice, very friendly and welcoming! We made reservations because the place is always full and we got a table right away. Reserving in advance is always a good choice. I recommend. We ordered the Esh Experience and I got so impressive with the amount of food that came to our table! Just check the photos. The Esh Experience is for a minimum of two people. That was the best choice! It came quickly, it was delicious, I have nothing else to say but good things! I totally recommend Esh for lunch or dinner. Congratulations for the great business and I wish all the best!
