Pleasant location, very friendly staff. The food is good, but the quality of the menu varies: the falafel is amazing, but the nachos are laughable and not authentic at all (green beans and carrots on your nachos???). All in all, a pleasant experience, but not one I'll necessarily repeat.

Two of us went out to dinner today, ordered a round of drinks and an appetizer. After we finished our appetizers, no waiter came to our table for 20 minutes. She preferred to set the tables and stare into space. When she finally came and took our main courses, we weren't offered anything else to drink. The waitress was very inattentive. Then, when it came to paying, it was absolutely ridiculous: I had €29 to pay, but didn't want to tip, and I didn't get my one euro change. My companion paid by card, but unfortunately, the first attempt failed. The waitress LOUDLY announced in front of everyone that there weren't any funds on the card!!!! Absolutely embarrassing and a disgrace!!!! It worked on the second attempt! I've rarely seen someone so unsuited for the restaurant industry!

Fabels isn't what it used to be. You're all crammed together. The food is okay. Unfortunately, the current format is more of a junkyard. It's a real shame for such a location.

Mediocre restaurant. They didn't ask if everything was to my liking. When my husband put his debit card out to pay, no one came by for a few minutes. So I paid at the bar. I had the carpaccio salad, which, unfortunately, contained olives. I wouldn't go there again.

Enjoyed delicious appetizers (tuna and sundae crackers) with fresh ginger/mint tea. The weather cooperated, but the terrace there is perfect. The atmosphere inside is also good.

Had an informal business lunch here. Great atmosphere, parking a short walk away. Friendly service, delicious food, and definitely not expensive.

Highly recommended. Good value for money. Our waitress, Yente, was probably the best service we've ever had. For example, a woman at the next table choked, and Yente immediately had a glass of water ready for her. Overall, a lovely evening. Thank you!

Rustic. The food is typically Dutch. Lots of fried food...from fish to meat...with fries, etc. But nothing earth-shattering... You probably won't be particularly surprised.

Stopped in for a quick drink, just making it as the skies opened up. Classic Dutch pub, offering all you would expect. Jan on tap, which was ok and the classic deep fried food which was a good late afternoon snack!

Great little restaurant. We were there on a Tuesday, unfortunately, without a reservation. We had to wait at the bar for a bit (they initially said 20 minutes) until a table became available. After only a five-minute wait, we were seated. The staff is super friendly, and the food is delicious. I had a melt-in-your-mouth lamb fillet, and my wife had a chicken skewer with a fantastic peanut sauce. I highly recommend this restaurant, but it's best to reserve a table in advance.

We had dinner here on a Saturday around 6pm and were pleasantly surprised. According to the website, we did not need to make a reservation, and luckily that was true, there was still plenty of room inside, although the terrace outside was completely full. The food and drinks arrived quickly and tasted really delicious. The price-quality ratio is excellent. The service was also great: very friendly ladies who were fast and attentive. In short, a nice place with good food, good service and a pleasant atmosphere.

We were staying in Alkmaar and decided to get a bus to Bergen. This lovely little cafe was situated at the back of the church, looking over the ruins. There is seating inside and out, it was very busy which isn't surprising. The coffee was lovely along side an almond croissant 🥐. Service was excellent and we loved it.

Had a delicious meal with the five of us. It was very busy, but after a very friendly welcome and a short moment on the terrace, we were given a cozy table. Delicious food, nice service. Our evening was great. Recommended.

Burger was very dry. The sandwich that was ordered was not special and not richly filled. Service was good! It was a cramped situation, I could barely get out from behind my table.

We had dinner here on Christmas Day, it was great. We only found one major disadvantage, we had already gone through what we wanted at home, including the price. Now we received the menu on the spot, where all dishes, except for drinks, were 5 euros more expensive. We thought that was a shame, because it cost you 4 desserts. Because 12.50 for a dessert goes a long way. Advice, next time post online what you have that day plus the price. This way others won't be surprised. For the rest, plenty of staff on the floor, including live music.

Super nice atmosphere, staff who have a very good overview and really work as a team. Received free bread and butter when the waiter thought it was taking a long time before we could get to the table, which was very thoughtful! Food was good and the menu with classics that you won't easily go wrong with!

Delicious lunch. The atmosphere is very good. The service is helpful and friendly. Nice and varied menu. We ordered an Angus pastrami sandwich with truffle mayonnaise. Tasty combination with Mediterranean garnish. Out of season you can walk in here, but during the season reservations are a must. Especially if you are coming with a large group, make sure to make a reservation. I would love to come back here again. Absolutely recommended!

We went for dinner. There was no free table around 19:00, they said there would be a free table after 1 hour and we could wait at the bar or at the table outside. As they said, the table inside was empty after 1 hour. It has a crowded but friendly atmosphere. The waitress was very helpful and polite. Food is delicious, price is average. I recommend.

Madam, sitting alone at the 6-person table, was sent away for our sake. We were 3 people. Foreign..... One waitress made a very rude comment to us. All in all not a pleasant lunch.

No reservations (not possible with less than 6 people), but the four of us were able to enter at 6:30 PM, even though it was already pleasantly busy. Friendly welcome and prompt assistance. Just pick out something tasty and there is also something to choose from for the children (although they often choose the same thing 🙈). Excellent food...no complicated dishes, but just good. A great place for the family. Definitely recommended in Bergen.

Here you'll find the best apple and nut tart ever! If I'm in the area, this is a must. Highly recommended. The ambience invites you to linger.

Ended up at Fabels in Bergen (inside) together with a friend. My dining companion ordered the spareribs and I went for the tournedos. I can only conclude that this is/was one of the best and tenderest tournedos I have eaten in a long time, chapeau Fabels! The sparerib also has a very refined taste and is wonderfully tender. However, there were no garnishes or vegetables with the spare ribs, so I asked for them. Despite the improvisation, it tasted great. Also old-fashioned fries with creamy mayonnaise for 2 people. The menu is very varied and ranges from meat to fish and from vegetarian to Thai... Very varied and something for everyone. The interior is very pleasant and cozy, despite the fact that this is a large catering establishment. The lighting is pleasantly dimmed and there is an attractive small lamp on the tables, in short, very pleasant seating. The service also deserves a special mention, it was very attentive and attentive. The contact was friendly and courteous, nothing was too much. It has been a long time since everything was right about this experience, so again Fabers.. CHAPEAU..!! PS; 1x tournedos 1x sparerib 2x glass of beer 1x bottle of Spa red €78-. (+€12 tip) Finished at €100 and well deserved.

Great place. It's a bit noisy inside, but there's a lot to look at and it's fun. The waitresses are very nice and quick and are happy to help you. We had the starter plate. Everything was explained in a friendly manner. I haven't eaten so well in a long time. We were thrilled and will be back. It was nice to be able to watch the chefs at work, how they carried out their work with calm and total routine, even though there was no space left in the restaurant. Great, keep it up!
