I actually want to give even less than 1 star. The man who served us was incredibly rude and gave us a nasty goodbye. The fries were literally in the fryer for 1 minute (we were standing right next to it), which is why they were soggy and raw. I also think the peanut sauce has been reheated for three weeks because it was sour and disgusting.

Prices on the boards do not match what the owner puts on the card. When you confront the owner about this, he immediately adopts an aggressive tone. He also refuses to give back the money you overpaid. FRAUDULENT PERSON! FIRST-CLASS SCAMMER! It turned out we weren't the only ones he had done this to that evening!

Terrible experience. Cannot take orders correctly and had to wait forever. When it finally arrived, I received the following horrendous meal: crumbled pita bread with 2% chicken shawarma, 75% tomato, and 23% average sauce.

The owner just wanted to steal my laptop. I had forgotten my bag and refused to give it back “because I was being loud”. Very strange and unpleasant man as an owner, and the food is pretty crap.

I thought I'd get a Turkish pizza on King's Day. I think they use these pizzas to pay the Royal Family. So €15 for a meatless pizza apparently also means without truffles and gold leaf. Not very humane in my eyes, especially considering different prices are listed on the boards. Fala-fell off...

On King's Night, they make up the prices right before your eyes! €30 for two small kapsalons. Before you realize what's happening, it's already too late. They don't give a damn that the sign says €11 each. Bizarre. Don't go here!

The atmosphere was great again at Falafel City, especially because the party lights were back on. The frikandel was delicious again; I'll definitely order it again next time. The order column wasn't working, which I thought was a shame.

Fairly mediocre doner, for a rather high price

The dürüm was far too expensive, and the staff was very unfriendly. My girlfriend and I were wrongly accused of not having paid. After a lengthy argument, she ended up paying double for a dürüm that wasn't even worth the price. Not recommended!

Oh my gawd, I got home from work and I just wanted some delicious fries. All the other places had such long lines, so I went to this one. It was completely empty, which should have been a sign that I shouldn't spend any money there. €5 for fries. I could count the fries. DO NOT ORDER HERE.

The food is very mediocre. The fries are limp and tasteless, but the doner kebab is perfectly acceptable. Unfortunately, the coleslaw is also very sour and probably not fresh but from a jar. The chicken wings are also inedible. The quality could be a bit better here.

I'd like to pay tribute to everyone whose final destination was Falafel City after a night of heavy drinking 🍺. The realization, the harsh realization the next morning of what disgusting food you've sunk your teeth into. It can happen to the best of us. Is it a cult favorite or just pure disgustingness? I'll probably reach that conclusion sometime soon on a Sunday night at, say, 4:36 AM.

Sorry, but charred hockey sticks weren't falafel; please remove that from the name. I'm not picky, but it was the worst falafel I've ever had, by far. I took them out and just ate the bun and lettuce (I was hungry).

Falafel was fried way too hard. The employee kept checking his phone. It didn't taste good. When we pointed this out, he shrugged and went back to... his phone. Skip this city or make a point of ensuring falafel isn't over-fried.

Although the atmosphere of the restaurant could clearly be better, I have never had a better kapsalon. The vegetables were crispy (nice and fresh), the fries and meat were impeccable, and the service was great, very pleasant!

I'm writing this review at 4:15 am. Around this time was also the moment I stopped by here to get a late night snack as all the other places were already closed. The taste of the food is not too sublime, but it is as expected, just like at other döner shops. The only sad thing is all the products that are displayed at the counter. The lettuce, cucumber and tomato looked outdated and the open door was crawling with insects. I even had to point out to the employee that one wandered onto my durum döner. The man standing alone, with a wireless earpiece for music, did the right thing and immediately threw it away. I got a new durum, but still with the same vegetables as before. Nothing more to point out and I was just hungry, so I just hoped for no insects in my durum. A little extra protein doesn't hurt. The man was friendly!

The food is mediocre at best, I ordered a broodje falafel, and the falafel is broken apart and deep fried which isn't pleasant to eat, the gentleman who made it seemed pretty sweet but the food is terrible.

From the dirty t-shirt from the wait staff to the dirty tent, don't do it! The food was not fresh, appeared to have been there for a while, heated in the oven...rancid. When we flew to clean the table the mess was kind of rubbed with a wet cloth...it made it even dirtier...DO NOT EAT there!

The place is very dirty and looked unhygienic and the man shouted the whole time I was there and the food might be the worst I’ve seen in Utrecht. The sandwich is fallen apart and fries are practically frozen and the chicken wrap is chicken nuggets with cabbage. Would never recommend

Waited 35 minutes for fries, mayo and Mexicano. After we had to ask for our order after a long wait, we received a perforated Mexicano and fries that were colder than the South Pole, so we quickly went home disappointed. The mice were another pleasant addition, they were plentiful and not afraid of the guests. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone!

The Falafel wrap is delicious! These are real falafel made in front of you, the other ingredients are fresh and good. I haven’t tried other sandwiches but I recommend this one. (PS: I am french)

The food was quite good. The service was amateurish. I didn't feel welcome. The hair salon was pretty good!

After a long afternoon of shopping, we settled here for a delicious bite to eat. After placing the order for 1 hair salon with the employee who apparently had already smoked two joints, I waited for my order at my chair. Once I got the big hair salon I started to enjoy this meal. As everyone knows, you start by eating the lettuce, then the doner and then the fries. When I arrived at the fries it turned out that I had not placed my order correctly. Here you have to indicate that you want fried fries, instead of raw fries. Ridiculous of course! When I walked to the employee with this somewhat less pleasant surprise, he said he would bake me new fries. This was also ready too quickly, and when the employee under the influence walked towards me after three minutes with another lukewarm bowl of fries, my clog broke. He put the bowl of fries in front of me and grabbed another fries, dipped it in the mayonnaise, and ate it. I threw these raw fries in the trash and walked away white hot and annoyed. This unpleasant eating experience left a very unpleasant aftertaste. I'll never come here again. Unless after going out, because then everything is tasty.

I'm from Bosnia. I know what a good falafel and döner kebab is like. Falafel City has the best falafel and döner kebab I have tried outside of my country. Fantastic place, visited two nights in a row and will try to visit whenever I can

11:15 PM, I feel like having a snack and… Wow, that's a beautifully delicious Turkish pizza cheese I had. I was offered coriander sauce and, with all my experiments, I have never had such a striking sauce on a pizza before. In addition, a delicious, rich and fresh filling, I would never want it any other way. Emotional to the bone, I started my portion of fries with mayo. Exactly as it should be, right amount of salt and a slightly acidic ointment. A tear falls down my smile. Falafel City, Fa-Love-el City.

I thought I would get a nice durum falafel at falafel city, but it was the driest, most disgusting durum I have eaten in a long time. Later I also had döner and it was not much better. If you need something to eat quickly, fine, but not much more

Falafel City is by far the most disgusting and dilapidated place I have ever stuffed my mouth with a durum. And I can tell you that that was at 3am, and believe me, that's exactly the time when my standards drop drastically in just about every area, but my choices apparently don't get any better. Kebab as dry as the inside of a pebble with about the same taste and texture. If I came across this after days of wandering around in the desert without food, I would walk an oasis further. I recommend you do that too.

Ok, this place is very hit or miss, but when it's good you can't deny it. Best value for money on the falafel wrap, I recommend getting the green sauce and looking to make sure they have the fresh green falafel mix.

Atmosphere within the snack bar is mediocre, there is no music and the interior is dated. A hair salon costs €9.00 and for that price I expected a culinary tour de force. Unfortunately. This was not a good hair salon, tastes like pancake. Fries are undercooked. Onion, tomato and döner are chopped too coarsely. The owner has decided to put parsley in the hair salon, which didn't sit well with me. I'm actually only satisfied with the lettuce, but that is semi-finished. All in all, I am not satisfied with this case. I won't be coming back here anytime soon.

Hair salon was severely substandard. Tastes good, but 2/3 of the container was only filled, which was far too little for a hair salon of 9(!) euros. For that amount of money you expect a little more value for your money. Employees were not nice either, very grumpy and rude.

The falafel is amazing here and it is freshly made! If you are looking for a vegetarian snack in the city centre? this is the place to be!

Falafel city is always there for me when I'm all out at 3am. More reliable than a clock. My mother came here when she went out when she was 20 and now I keep up the tradition. There is no hangover or midnight dip that cannot be fixed by a Kapsalon, falafel sandwich or durum from falafel city. Falafel city is the officiant at my wedding and godfather to my children. If falafel city ever needs a kidney, I have two to offer.

Falafel is freshly made and is therefore very tasty. You can choose from 7 toppings and it is a great portion for an evening meal. The service is fast and friendly. The best falafel durum I have eaten in a long time.

Greatest snack bar I have ever been

Ordered 6 Mexicano sandwiches. After receiving the sandwiches we saw that no sauce or salad had been added and additional costs were added. Also the mexicanos were burnt service I thought was very bad never again falafel city

I ordered 2 shawarma sandwiches and 1 chicken corn sandwich. I indicated that I would receive lettuce and sauce on all 3 sandwiches, but that was not included. After receiving it, I indicated this neatly, but the gentleman very rudely said that it would cost extra money, which he was supposed to indicate before I bought it. The photos also show lettuce and sauce. Then someone shouted at me in another language.

During corona, very nice and friendly help a few times and a good experience here, but the last two visits were a disaster: yesterday was the slowest employee I have seen in a long time. Ridiculous atmosphere today, people pushing forward; The staff did nothing about it, even though they could already see who had been here for ten minutes and who was pushing ahead: they gave the cocks first instead of helping people honestly. The prices are also absurd: fries war 4 EURO (!) (haven't seen this expensive anywhere), healthy sandwich 4 EURO. Go to Bambi around the corner or to Huzur on the Voorstraat and pay a euro less for both... I would look further.
