Had a tasty meal, but warm and delicious vegetables aren't really their thing.

My favourite restaurant in Harderwijk and it keeps being that good after a year. This place hits all the spots for me. The first thing to notice is the atmosphere. It's unique, decorated like a living room and where you'll find so many details..tv's on the wall, trinkets everywhere, colorfully decorated and a selection of table top games to play while waiting for your food. And the service..the waiters and waitresses are all so friendly and professional, fast, helpful and hardworking. Some stand out and will put a smile on your face. This is why you'll want to keep coming back. And ofcourse the food..right as you come in you'll see and smell the different meats on the charcoal grill slowly cooking to perfection. It's mouthwateringly good. This night I went for the chicken and it was absolutely delicious. It is a meat heavy restaurant and all the favourites are there. Portions may be large but the food is so good. From the bread to the fries to the mains..it's al good. With the large amount of good restaurants in Harderwijk this still stands out. Couldn't recommend this more: if you are visiting here you must eat here atleast once. 10/10.

This is highly recommended! What a gem in the center of Harderwijk (park at P 't Scheepje). We had a truly delicious meal, a lovely atmosphere, and incredibly friendly service. The little games on every table were also a nice touch. We are from Utrecht, but we will definitely be back!

The waitress was professional, friendly, and accommodating with our one-year-old. The meal was very good, but the portions were a bit small, especially the fries offered with two main courses. The meat portion on the children's menu was disproportionately large compared to the adult menu. The music was rather loud, with no way to change it, which made the atmosphere a little stressful in the heat. You can see the cook grilling meats over a wood fire at the entrance to his kitchen.

The food was delicious and plentiful. The atmosphere was very nice. The service was also very attentive and friendly. My only criticism is that there were four of us ordering the three-course platter menu. It was incredibly tasty and plentiful, but when you're a party of four, you get two pieces of salmon and two chicken halves. The quantity is really more than enough, even a lot, but it would have been nice if it had been served in four separate pieces. As it was, we had to cut the chicken halves into pieces ourselves, which isn't practical on such a full platter, especially when trying not to touch it with your hands. The salmon was also attached to a kind of charcoal board, which is really difficult to cut neatly into pieces. If the kitchen had already divided it for four people, there would have been less of a mess.

What a lovely, atmospheric restaurant! We had a delicious meal! The staff were also very nice (especially Ines 😉), which made the evening complete! Highly recommended!

Lovely small terrace. Incredibly friendly staff. Located on a nice little street with a lot of foot traffic. The price-quality ratio is great. Had a delicious flammkuche. The restaurant inside is spacious and very cozy. Lots of dark, robust wood, and nice decor. Good lunch/dinner menu without any pretension. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, the burgers were served lukewarm, and the waitress paid little attention to this, meaning we couldn't point it out. We mentioned this when settling the bill, but little attention was paid to that either. I didn't have a pleasant experience this evening; I wouldn't eat here again…

Delicious food and great service

We went to Dikke Dirck last night. We walked in and what a nice atmosphere, details everywhere, I saw something new every minute. And then the food arrived quickly; it was amazing. I shared a steak tasting platter and a hamburger. It was incredibly tender and everything was good; we also had spare ribs and chicken. Worth every penny and super friendly service. We went again the very next evening. Highly recommended.

The fish 'n chips were really badly prepared. Almost charred black. The grease was dripping off, right through the (not very hygienic) wooden board on the table. The garnish looked terrible. And then having to rummage through a cup of fries... This was not our idea of ​​a nice meal out.

The food was cold and very little. We were given a small dollop of hard herb butter to put on the steak. The steak was cold, so the butter couldn't melt on it. The warm vegetables were cold. The chicken burger was cold and poorly cooked. A tiny pot of sauce in a cardboard container. For a steak costing almost 40 euros, I expect more. A tiny portion of fries. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was good. But of course, you go to a restaurant primarily to eat well... a shame.

I have never eaten anywhere as delicious as here! Plus, everything was served quickly. Highly recommended! Will definitely be back more often 👍🏼

Definitely worth it! Enjoyed a delicious dinner in a cozy atmosphere. The food (meat, fish, vegetables) is prepared on the charcoal BBQ/grill. As a result, the taste is exquisite. 👌🏾 The meat is of good quality, the staff is very friendly and enthusiastic, and there was a nice atmosphere! Waiting a bit while your food? Grab a fun game of Mikado or perhaps another game. Park in the Houtwal P14 parking garage, which is a good parking garage with charging stations, by the way. From there, it is about a 5-minute walk to Dikke Dirck.

The food was delicious. They really went the extra mile to prepare a dish for my wife that wouldn't affect her allergies. The chef even came out to discuss it with her. The service was very friendly. The prices were reasonable and the portions generous. It was a real pleasure.

Been here for lunch. When you walk in you'll find a warm cosy place which sets you back in time. Service is efficient en very friendly. Food was very tasty and prices are normal. For popular times a reservation is advised.

Bavette medium rare was the intention, but it was tough, raw, cold meat. What a shame the chef couldn't cook it properly! Went back twice. A big fail! The staff did their very best, were very friendly, and asked if everything was to your liking. It wasn't their fault! The atmosphere wasn't either. Just very disappointed that the chef couldn't cook the meat properly.

We ate here last night. The steak was cold, and we'd ordered two steak tastings for €39.50 each. They arrived with one meat platter and tried to tell us it was for two people. 400g of meat for two people, almost €80. Sorry, but I feel completely ripped off; I'll never go back.

The burger was good (although still red inside, which is something you have to appreciate). The service was also good. The people were friendly. What I didn't like so much was the fries (yes, you can screw up fries too). When I squeezed a fry, the grease dripped out. The orange juice was supposedly freshly squeezed, but it was fermenting. Oh yeah, and one carrot and half an egg cup of cabbage with the salmon is a very small amount of vegetables. I'm giving it two and a half stars (which seems a bit low), but it's not for me because I came to eat and drink, and in my opinion, that was quite subpar.

I found the food significantly overrated; the ribs were supposed to come off the grill, if at all, only for seconds. Unfortunately, dogs weren't allowed in the restaurant; they could have announced this on the website. The heater outside was turned on after the third reminder.

Perfection! That's the only word that I can find to define this restaurant. Stuff perfect, the food exceptional... I found my favourite restaurant in Netherlands! Good job!

What a fantastic place! We had a fantastic meal, and everything was so delicious. From a delicious appetizer, to a fantastic main course, to a dessert that was simply exceptional. The service was also superb. And what a wonderful, homey atmosphere there is in the place. Highly recommended.

Had a delicious lunch. This was one of the tastiest salads I've had in a long time. Everything just a little bit extra special: goat cheese wrapped in filo pastry, a poached egg on the side, a delicious dressing, and a well-filled salad with caramelized walnuts, among other things. Tea and coffee with a piece of homemade butter cake and a few tumtumms, and a candy jar at the cash register. Details like these set this restaurant apart from many competitors. Inside, you'll be amazed by the sheer number of things to see. The service, courtesy of the friendly, energetic women, is swift, as is the kitchen. We'll definitely be back.

Unfortunately, this time we received a bad review. The last time we ate here, we were satisfied. Not this time. We ordered lunch and the fries were very greasy and almost cold (it happens), which was fine. But my mother's sandwich had a sharp piece of wood in it (which she almost swallowed). Because of this, she only ate half because she didn't dare eat any more. We received no apology, and nothing was done about it when we paid. Again, mistakes are human and can happen, but this was also dangerous. You pay a considerable amount to eat somewhere, so you can assume everything is good. I think it always reflects well on a business when they go out of their way to accommodate you. That's what makes people return (as far as I'm concerned). This time, absolutely nothing was done, so unfortunately, we won't be back.

Der dicke Dirk is a very cozy and homey restaurant. The outdoor area is also very unique and beautifully decorated. The food is excellent and very lovingly prepared. The same goes for the drinks. From a German perspective, Dirk's isn't exactly cheap, but we always enjoy coming back.

En spontan tur til hardewijk gjorde at vi kom forbi denne café. Super i mødekommende tjener som gav en god introduktion til menukortet. Lækker moscow mule og god øl. Vi bestilte et bræt med lidt forskelligt. Det smagte dejligt. Dog kunne vi godt tænke os noget brød til. Det kom også hurtigt. Maden smagte dejligt og servicen var i top. Prisen var måske lige til den gode side i forhold til kvaliteten😊 men det er sagt med et smil da servicen trak op
