Awful food waited 15mins for 6 boneless fillets and 2 corn on the cobs in a empty shop. When receiving the order it came cold so we told the guy he was very rude towards us and asked us if we wanted it heated up in the microwave . These 5* reviews are not it 😂

Chicken wings were very dry and fries were super soggy. I would only visit this place if it was night and everything around would be closed so there’d be no other option. And even then I wouldn’t expect it to be an enjoyable meal😕

Unfortunately, I fell under the hype of good reviews. The chicken itself is not juicy, dry and tasteless:( Fries are soaky. Years ago, when the rapper and streedfood guru named -action bronson- showed me this place on a Netflix streedfood, I immediately went to take a look here. He gave 5 stars and I have been coming there for years and have eaten the best chicken ever.. For the people who complain, do just like me and always ask what time they fry fresh chicken, so you have no reason to complain.

La hamburguesa de pollo es como Pollo - fil - A con esteroides! He estado visitando Amsterdam durante 19 años antes de que amigos de Canadá me presentaran este lugar hace dos años. No podía creer que nunca lo hubiera descubierto antes. Sus hamburguesas de pollo son similares a las que encontrarías un Pollo - fil - A cubren todo el bollo. ¡Son enormes! Y excelente combustible para empezar el día, o seguir adelante después de medianoche ya que suelen estar abiertos hasta las tres o cuatro de la mañana.

One of if not the best fast food take away in the centre. -Their fried chicken is noticeably well marinated, has a thick crispy crust and and is not dry at all inside. -Fast and friendly service -Good prices for the size of the servings -Great location, next to a nice canal and in the heart of the Amsterdam historical centre. -A few tables to eat inside if needed

I had high hopes coming to Favorite Chicken and Ribs- and it exceeded our expectations. The chicken was sublime, but I can't talk for the ribs. Attentive staff. Combo meals sufficient. It was the highlight of our Amsterdam trip.

They make very good chicken and the prices are average and the portions are large. The place is very small and looks a bit ghetto, but the staff is very friendly.

After a visit to the Oude Kerk we were looking for something quick and tasty to eat. Delicious chicken wings, also boneless, if desired and level of spiciness also as desired. Different sauces and delicious fries and everyone is happy, including the children. Nice service!

I have no idea about chicken place but in front of this place we witnessed how they lift a refrigerator in Amsterdam.

Unfortunately I got old refried chicken which was not so pleasant. Dry, blend and not really what I expected. For juicy fried chicken I will look for other locations next time.

I did not expect to see a fast food joint in this neighborhood, but the sign stood out. Looking for a quick late lunch, I stopped in for a large fried chicken sandwich and cole slaw (quite good). It was not expensive and the owner is friendly.

I have no idea who on earth these people in here think they are providing such amazing chicken. I’m from London and never in my life have I been to a chicken shop this good. I stumbled across this place because it was late and I was hungry, mate, even their opening hours are insane. Good chicken, good opening hours and good people. It’s seasoned so well I don’t even think KFCs Colonels secrete recipe can match up to this and they better keep it a secret from me because I would bring this to London if I could it’s that good !! From when the owner asked us to stay because he wanted instant feedback, that’s how you know it’s good. He knows he’s chicken is A1 and wanted to see the instant satisfaction in our faces. I accidentally stumbled upon this place looking for dinner near the Red Light District in Amsterdam. The place isn't that clean, but it's exactly what you expect from a hole-in-the-wall fried chicken joint. The fries are great, and the chicken is even better. I ordered a side of sambal that really pushed things over the top. Don't visit here if you want fine dining. This is great food at an affordable price.......nothing else.

If you’re looking for a favourite chicken joint away from home then this is definitely the place for you! Located few doors from the church in red light district you will come across the favourite chicken shop the food is good but slightly on the pricy side (understandable it’s in the city centre) but value for money is not to sure! If your missing home chicken then this place is for you

As my lover and I stalked the streets of Amsterdam, gazing wistfully across those famed canals, my stomach humbly growled and reminded us of our mutual hunger. Hence, we deemed to Google what chicken based restaurants could be found in this strange alien city, and incredibly - found Favourite Chicken and Ribs. An absolute gem of a restaurant, it huddles in the between buildings, a jewel in plain sight. The customer service was excellent, perfect English and words spoken with a cordial smile, menu was tasty and stocked everything a good takeaway should, prices were extremely reasonable - and oh, the chicken - such tender breasts, such juicy meat - the taste of the goujons lingers in my mouth still when I reminisce. Storytelling aside, it's a really good chicken place and if you're mad for a bit of juicy chicken akin to supermac'ss or the local chipper's then this is a good spot.

Parfait !! le monsieur a été adorable avec nous ! il nous a tout bien expliqué en fonction de ce qu’on voulait, ce qui nouc coûterait le moins cher etc, ila été patient avec nous parce qu’on arrivait pas a se mettre d’accord. il nous a bien récapitulé ce qu’on avait pris puis le prix qui est largement abordable pour le plat qu’on a mangé ! les gérants en général étaient souriants et agréables avec nous. le poulet était bon et chaud. Il nous a même offert un hotwings ! vraiment n’hésitez pas à y aller si vous avez une soudaine envie de poulet frit (comme j’ai pu avoir)!!!

Le monsieur qui nous as accueilli était un amour! Décrit chaque menu, chaque spécificité correctement tout en nous indiquant le prix. Patient et aimable, on y mange bien et on a même eu un poulet en plus ! Je recommande :) (ps: ferme à 3h pour les petites fringales)

After decades of searching. I have found THE BEST CHICKEN Shop in the world… (New Edit at the End) From the long standing 20ish years to the unassuming touristy backdrop and 14 seater interior. This place packs a punch when it comes to product and flavour. I was that excited when I took the first bite that a small sharp sound of “umm” came out from my mouth when my belly pushed upwards. The Chips… Perfectly salted. Great dimension where you can pick 2-3 up at a time and dunk them in the most delicious dollopy mayyo and thick ketchup. The Chicken. So perfectly fried, fresh in small batches with bright white meat that is so juicy and tender. The coating is subtly spiced but where they win is in not dredging the skin in too much flour so it’s too crackly or too much coating, the chicken here is king and the seasoning and skin are just adding to it. The wings etc have different coating and more flour and a bit more spice and coating but still relatively mild and very good. The Coleslaw. This is what coleslaw should be like. So fresh. So crispy and creamy at the same time that I wanted more, and more… And more… Went second day in a row and will go again today as I doubt I’m going to have as good chicken again in the short term. I tried the burger the next day which was great too, nice big fillet piece but the stand out here is the chicken pieces, chips and coleslaw. (Don’t mess around.) You must visit. Don’t be alarmed by size of space or it’s basic interior and sometimes boisterous crowd later on the evening 10pm onwards. Earlier evening is best. This is for me, as good as fried chicken gets and for someone who has travelled extensively, and tried fried chicken in most of the capitals, I can say Amsterdam has the crown for this one. Even though “The Favourite” is a London import, the owner has adapted the recipe slightly and that’s what makes it special. I must admit I had been to a coffee shop earlier in the day so was flying at slightly high altitude but I can assure you that is also a way to do it if you haven’t. By the end I had a little flock (No pun intended) of people who would go with me after I told them about it. I could have started a cult now that I think about it. For me that first visit was as pure as good humble food can get… Cheap too. I’m almost emotional thinking about it. 🥲 (New Edit) Although amazing, I think I was high when writing this. The food on the last day I went wasn’t so fresh, the chicken had been out a bit longer. Sadly didn’t taste as good as it was when fresh and I think the butchery on the chicken could be a bit better, extra bone around the knuckle for drumsticks needs to be removed properly. Consistency issues. A 3.5 for that visit. Also write the order down to hand over as it’s easy to forget. One other thing. Whatever you do, even if on the brink of starvation. DO NOT GO to “The Favourite” in ROTTERDAM. It would have to be THE WORST fried chicken shop in the world. It’s amazing how much a franchise owner can make or break a brand. And I don’t believe the two branches are related. They can’t be.

There are restaurants, and then there are institutions. I stumbled upon Favorite Chicken and Ribs years ago, in the hight of the pandemic. I had just moved to Amsterdam, and it was a grey cold autumn day. Favorite Chicken and Ribs provided the light that I missed from my caribbean homeland with its crunchy delicious fried chicken. I have tried finding other places in Amsterdam that serve up chicken like this, and non come close to balancing price, taste and environment. There is no glamor in Favorite Chicken and Ribs. You get what you paid for: chicken. Often times in situations of dire need, like a savoury guardian angel. Countless late nights of parties have been finished off at this establishment, which closes later than the mayority of eating places in Amsterdam. On some of these nights, drunk strangers have paid for my meals out of pure generocity, likely inspired by the taste of chicken. Sometimes the staff have snuck in an extra little pice of chicken just to be great. Overall, a great establishment. While we should all be transitioning to vegetarianism, if you have not yet made the jump to a plant based diet eat yourself some Favorite Chicken and Ribs.
