On August 10th, I ordered 2 chickens and 1 portion of fries for takeaway. I asked for mayonnaise, but upon arriving home, I received 2 small containers of butter sauce with a slight garlic flavor for €55. I feel completely ripped off; the menu lists a whole chicken for €21.70. I will never come here again; they are scammers. They don't even speak or understand Dutch, and their English is practically nonexistent.

There were no customers at the restaurant. We were sitting on the bench outside, simply talking. After about two minutes, an unfriendly cashier came over and told us to leave in an irritated tone, saying, “The bench is not for love, it’s for customers. This is bad for the restaurant.” We are shocked. We have never been treated so rudely before.

Simply amazing! The food is great, and the chicken is some of the best I've ever had. Plus, we were treated super well and loved the restaurant! I highly recommend it!!

I wanted to give 5 stars, but the lack of alcoholic drinks can’t be ignored. Let’s start with the positives: + Great Portuguese grilled chicken, really reminded me about the ones you have at Portugal (way better than the UK Nando’s). + Diogo was quite professional and welcoming, especially compared to other places we’ve been to in Amsterdam. The noticeable minus: - No alcoholic beverages served, which should be a “crime” when serving such delicious food. We were very close to leaving and seeking another restaurant, but Diogo’s politeness made us stay. I was really hoping to have a super bock :(

A great place for simple and tasty food. The chicken is gluten and dairy free which my partner requires. The garlic rice was superb. For me the Pri Pri sauce was way too spicy.

From entering we were greeted wonderfully and the staff is wonderful. The Chicken is unbelievably juicy, cooked perfectly and I think its amazing how they leave all the juice underneath the chicken to dip your bites.The whole ambiance of the restaurant is great. Definitely give it a go you wont regret it!

The roast chicken was good, but I was expecting a more authentic Portuguese flavor. We also ordered rice as a side to take away, but the portion was quite small. Two roast chickens with two sides came to €59. That said, it still helped satisfy our craving for Portuguese food.

The atmosphere was terrible; the ground floor was constantly crowded with delivery riders. Although their Google listing states they are open until 10:00 PM, that wasn't our experience. We arrived on a Monday and were seated at 6:30 PM after confirming there was space. We had to go to the counter to place our order. It wasn't until I went to order at 6:50 PM that a staff member informed us they were actually closing at 7:45 PM and we would need to leave by then.

Your operating hours on google maps should be updated regularly. I walked over to pick up some food at 8:15pm only to be told by apathetic employee that the restaurant was closed since 7:45pm. There seemed to be no interest in informing prospective clients of operating hours when I pointed at the discrepancy (restaurant is meant to be open until 10pm). I work in hospitality and this would all be fine had he not been dismissive to my remark — he made it pretty clear I was a bother. It’s a shame because the chicken is actually pretty good, but that alone is not the sole factor when I decide where to spend my money. Plenty of places around.

Came here on a friend’s recommendation and it was really good. The rice with garlic was especially tasty. We had a simple tomato and onion salad on the side, which worked well. The chicken is bone-in, so just keep that in mind—splitting half a chicken might be a better call. If you’re after a quick, satisfying meal, I’d definitely recommend it.

If you're craving a Portuguese-style grilled chicken, Franggo is undoubtedly the place to find it. Young and friendly staff, good food, calm and pleasant atmosphere – I highly recommend it.

We loved the chicken, it was very tasty! My husband is Portuguese and we were served by another Portuguese person, which improved our experience. We also tried the coxinha (chicken croquette) and the pastel de nata (Portuguese custard tart). This location is small but we managed to get a table. I recommend it!

Amazing piri piri chicken! Portions are generous, we shared a whole chicken with three (plus three sides). Do note the establishment doesn’t serve alcohol, which was not an issue for us. The mango ice tea (canned) was the best combo with the chicken ❤️ You’re seated upstairs and do have to walk down to order, so maybe not the best to dine in if you’re to able to get up and down stairs easily. Would highly recommend and will return- definitely as takeaway as well!

This used to be good, but the quality has been steadily decreasing for a while now. I used to order almost every week when I moved to Amsterdam, but for the past few months the chicken has been dry and tasteless every single time. Perhaps this is specific to online orders, but it's not a good sign anyway. I hope things will improve!

Incorrectly informed about allergens several times, which resulted in illness.

I have had the piri piri chicken from Portugal several times and I could never find a good restaurant that could give you that authentic dish until now. They also have great appretizers and local Portuguese drinks to try out such as Sumo!

If, like us, you're hesitant to eat chicken outside in Turkey, you can try the oak-fired chicken you've been craving. We also had potatoes, and they were even better than Fabel's.

I went there a few months ago and found the chicken quite disappointingly lacking in flavour. The service was good and the atmosphere was also welcoming and cordial, however the food simply wasn’t that good considering the price point.

We didn't enjoy the experience. The chicken was very dry, the potato burnt... Overall, it seemed more like a takeaway place. Very expensive for what it was.

The chicken lacked flavor and juiciness, more forgettable than fiery. The fries were limp and bland, a complete miss. With so many better spots in De Pijp, this one is easy to skip.

We are real Nandosians and tried our best to find something like Nando’s in Amsterdam. However, the experience exceeded our expectations! Half chicken with butter lemon sauce was mesmerizing! Their rice and chips were also very nice + the girl serving us was also a very nice person!

This went from being a restaurant making one of the juiciest and most delicious grilled chicken to one of the driest and tasteless. It used to be really great but lately that has changed. I hope they go back to what they were but I am not optimistic about trying their food again any time soon. Just to be fair, we ordered it at home so maybe their delivery quality is just bad. The chicken is very boring and the fries were stale and tasteless. Also piri piri salt for the fries on the side? Fries need to be salted immediately when they come out of the frier. This is basic!

Mwah. Tastes the same as rotisserie chicken from outside any butcher's. The sauce is thin, not hot and unimpressive. The chicken 'bitterbal' was OK. The tomatoes tasteless, onion too big pieces and too much. Won't be coming back

Terribly bad service. Ordered food and it took a very long time, so I called to ask where it was. I mentioned that if it took too long, I would cancel the order and call them. Then, after about an hour, it was finally on its way — only for the restaurant to cancel the order. I called and asked what they were doing. I placed the order again, and then it took another 45 minutes. In short, I waited almost 2 hours for the food. Food is fine but pretty cold.

Their chicken are awesome. You just have to be patience. They have tons of delivery orders. When I was there they warned me it will be a 50 minutes wait on the food. But it was worth it.

Nice Portuguese place for a flaming chicken. Chicken had a good flavor and both sauces added something and were tasty. The fries were crispy. The Portuguese bread was a disappointment, quite pricey for some normal bread with some olive oil and butter. If you want to eat something quickly, this is a good option, it is self-service, which is a shame for these prices, but this could change. Employee was certainly friendly! I give it a 7/10, not exceptional but excellent chicken, well flavored and the fries are nice and crispy. Drink I recommend a guarana....Thank me later✌🏽

Really tasty portugues style chicken, we were looking to eat for a while. And we found this place by accident. It was an really pleasant surprise. Super tasty chicken and nice staff. I really recommend this place. They even have Brazilian Soda" Guarana " which is Worth tasting ! 🤤🤤🤤 We ate two people for less than 20 euros.
