Van 't Spit - Amsterdam - de Pijp A restaurant in De Pijp where you can eat well. Service was good and friendly. The fries were way too salty, the half chicken and salad were tasty. Interior is good for the type of restaurant. I can recommend this restaurant.

I found the experience in this restaurant very overrated. Yes, the chicken was tasty, but the sides that are ordered separately are far too pricey for the portions given and make it entirely too expensive for an evening of chicken in a fast food setting. However, what bothered me most was the incredibly disinterested and unfriendly service

The chicken tasted really good! The sides were took as well. I’m only giving 4 stars before my half chicken in some parts was a bit too pink, and got me a bit worried if it’s undercooked. Service was also good, the staff are nice and friendly.

Fries soaked in way too old oil. Service way too hasty like there is no tomorrow. You feel the stress down to your bones. The first years were great, but things have now really deteriorated.

Every sauce is delicious, and the chicken is also delicious. Half of it is just enough.

Best roasted chicken in Amsterdam

Came in with my friends and asked if we could have a few drinks, we explained we wouldn’t eat. We were invited to sit at the bar. After we had a drink and right after we ordered a second, a waiter (or manager)? Came to tell us that some people wanted to eat at the bar, so we must give up our seats and just stand up. There were other people sitting at the bar too and no one was eating, but he only told our group that we needed to give our chairs to other people. It’s a shame because the food smelled really good and the atmosphere at the restaurant was great, but this is the worst we’ve ever been treated by a waiter before, and that’s saying something in Amsterdam.

Delicious chicken! Good fries and coleslaw

Very nice environment and I really enjoyed the food I had the chicken ,the mash potatoes the corn and the coleslaw the one more tasteful than the other and drinks was good too…

1 chicken for two and add the accompaniments. Excellent cuisine. Top notch atmosphere. Great service.

The food and chicken is great. The apple sauce is also unique. The only caveat is that on busy nights the service is not that good, it took them 30 minutes yesterday to just take my order and another 30 minutes to bring the food.

Usually not fond of roasted chicken but damn this chicken is soooooo good! It’s so flavorful, tender and juicy at the same time. Especially when you add the spicy sauce, my oh my, the flavor will dance in your mouth. Their crispy chicken is also delicious! Good ratio of breading with perfect seasoning, not too little, not too much. However if you come here on weekends, the service might be slow. It took an hour to get our orders but the chicken worth the wait.

Hele lekkere plek om te eten! Samen met een paar bijgerechten was de halve kip was voor mij meer dan genoeg en erg lekker! In het speciaal de zoete aardappelpuree vond ik heerlijk!

A pub with limited food options. We ordered roasted chicken, crunchy chicken, and organic fries and they were all delicious! It was a delight surprise that they provided many sauce options (mayo, chili, sweet and sour, and wasabi mayo (?), not to mention the tomato sauce, bbq sauce served at the table). Staff was super friendly and ambiance was great too!

Best chicken grilled in Amsterdam.

I wonder if you would serve food to your guests in your home inside such damaged plates. You just can't serve with those plates and bowls. All of them(5-6 pieces) were damaged, it's dangerous to use them in that state apart from the very bad look. I'm sure you can afford buying proper ones. This is not hip nor stylish...

Amazing chicken and service. The staff there are really nice and helpful.

BBQ chicken is always a winner and they do it well. All the sides and sauces are great too. Take away is also possible, but would recommend going to the restaurant for the atmosphere and get the best out of the taste. Downsides: No reservations possible and waiting staff can be a loof and disinterested

Heerlijke malse en sappige halve kip, goed gekruid en leuk geserveerd. De extra bestelde groene salade was eenvoudig maar ook heerlijk van smaak. Leuke avond gehad in een gezellige ambiance en voor een prima prijs. Personeel erg vriendelijk en attent. Aanrader!

The moment you walk into this place you can sense the atmosphere of a place that is out of the ordinary. It is no reservation only, so just come early and you will have a table. Eating at the bar is an option, or waiting at the bar till a place outside in the sun comes free. When the food arrived I felt just like I was swept off my feet! Mind blowing experience, Freddy took care of us. Quick tip from him: use that lemon on the chicken! Chicken is all they do, and they do a DAM good job at it here — value for money is also definitely a 5 star 💫 Thank you, team!
