Guys, just because you're participating in TGTG doesn't mean you can put all sorts of old junk in the packages. What I received went straight into the trash at our place. Puff pastry that is wet and sticky. Pudding that has discolored and hardened. You just have to throw that away. Don't throw it into another package. Edit: Following my email and review, I was offered 2 fresh tompouces.

The coffee is very cheap, the place is comfortable, the people are very friendly, just try it, it is highly recommended, come on

I used to enjoy this place 5 years back. These days icecream is not that great and old lady behind counter tried to rip us off for 5 euro. Pay attention to the price.

The ice cream is average, if you do not like extremely sweet things do not order oat milkshakes, the elderly woman behind the counter is rude and had a petty attitude. The whole story I came with my family and ordered two shakes and two scoops of ice cream for €15.60. However, my oat milkshake, was disgusting. Apparently, they used oat milk with added sugar, and it ended up being undrinkable, so I didn't drink it. We had actually stopped by to use the toilet, not knowing that using the toilet costs € 0.20 cents even if you have ordered something. The man’s toilet was free (locked broken) my son used it but it was dirty and smelly, the women’s toilet was locked, so we explained the situation to the women behind the counter (I bought my shake to use the toilet and now the shake was undrinkable and the toilet not usable). The younger woman would have let me use the toilet, but the older one said no, she first questioned the young woman very rudely “what did you serve them” and then said to me “everyone has to pay and it is my problem if I did not like the shake” and she even tried to shame me saying “ is it a problem to pay €0.20?”. Well it wouldn’t have been a problem if the €6 shake I paid for hasn’t been undrinkable. We of course left not paying 1 cent more to this lady and found a nice clean bar where we were allowed to used the toilet for free.

The ice cream was good, the staff at the counter were friendly, but they closed our table and wouldn't let us sit down 30 minutes before closing time, and the outdoor terrace looks neglected and dirty.

The elderly lady who helped us was very rude and rushed us to choose while being very polite to the people before us, the ice cream is ok but it is quite sweet and after scooping they don’t clean the scooper, so there was chocolate ice cream in the mango ice cream and there was also weird hairs in my ice cream. Luckily the vibe is quite nice and chill… it’s nice but could have a lot more efforts put in it.

Always a great atmosphere and everyone, regardless of social standing, is welcome. Great ice cream!🍦🍧

Stopped here for an ice cream and: - The owner was very unfriendly, mean and prenteded not speaking English when later on I heard her talking in English to some customers. I tried to speak dutch and she was constantly finishing my sentences even when not guessing what I wanted to say. - The toilet for women is paying, even if you're a customer of them. Men's toilet is free of charge but it has only the standing sort of toilets. - We ordered two "scoops" of icecream. In the menu it was clearly written 2,10€ each, but they charged us 7,40€. Plus, they weren't specially big, quite the opposite. If you're around the area, you better look for another place to stop by.

2 scoops, served by an 80-year-old. 2 scoops, €3.70. Jesus, too expensive. You won't see me there again anyway. I don't need to go there for the atmosphere anyway.

A Hague institution: a must to grab an ice cream, a cup of coffee, and an egg sandwich with mayonnaise. Strike up a friendly chat with the passersby, and before you know it, an hour has passed. It doesn't get more The Hague than this.

The old lady (from what I’m reading, the owner)who served us the ice cream was very unfriendly, made us feel uncomfortable, like she didn’t want us there, just because we couldn’t understand what she was asking us in dutch. A young waitress which was very nice tried to help us. Ice cream okay.

It's been seven months since I arrived from Turkey. I'm trying to learn Dutch. In Turkey, I was a philosopher, but in the Netherlands, I'm illiterate; sometimes I mix up words when ordering coffee :) It's 500 meters from my house. I've been there four or five times for coffee. The young girls and the slightly older woman working there treated me normally. I didn't feel like a stranger. And I've read the other reviews; life doesn't have to be perfect. I'm going back today. 🙏

I love this place. Everyone goes to Florencia! Their coffee is mediocre but I can’t resist the charm of this place. Banana split is very good! But one thing I don’t love is that women need to pay 20 cents or something to use the toilet, but men don’t! 20 cents is not a lot but this is a different matter!

Got some ice cream purely for nostalgia's sake, and encountered a slightly older woman behind the counter who treated the customers before us with disrespect—it was truly bizarre. She wasn't very friendly or welcoming to us either, but luckily we could laugh about it. The ice cream is okay, like a dime a dozen ice cream parlors these days. The coffee was okay too. The price, well, a bit expensive for the first scoop, but if you order three, the price is right... in short, the best ice cream in The Hague? No, definitely not anymore. Would I make a detour for it? No, definitely not. It's nice to experience pure nostalgia for once. Yes.

Whenever I'm in The Hague, I always stop by Florentia for a nice ice cream or a cup of coffee. Friendly people. Great quality.

Unfortunately, this shop didn't look inviting from the outside, and there were no seats inside. The clientele lingering outside wasn't particularly inviting either... we moved on.

Ordered a 2-liter ice cream box on September 22, 2025. Upon unpacking, it turned out to be only 80% full. The box didn't even have a lid, just plastic wrap. A plastic bag for carrying it wouldn't come off either. The woman in question has managed to lose me, at the very least, as a customer.

I don't recognize the sour reactions. We enjoyed two scoops of ice cream together. Okay, the selection isn't huge. The first scoop was €2, but I was surprised that the second or third scoops were cheaper, which isn't something you see very often. I even wanted a second ice cream, but opted for the excellent coffee and tea with a slice of cake, which was €6 and a bit more. Spacious terrace with a friendly, friendly atmosphere.

The ice cream is good, but the ambiance is lacking. It's not a proper ice cream parlor.

By far the worst ice cream I've had in a long time. I ordered two scoops in a container. One Stracciatella and one Amarena. Normally, Stracciatella should contain small pieces of chocolate, and sometimes a slightly larger piece. This time, I was really searching for the chocolate. The Amarene was completely pink and didn't contain any cherries. As I know it, Amarene should be more white, and you'll occasionally find a cherry. The containers of ice cream in the refrigerated display case simply didn't look good. I had the impression there were a bunch of factory-made containers with chemical coloring. There's absolutely no artisanal fresh ice cream here. The scoops were very small, and the ice cream tasted watery. Such a shame! The strange thing is that I had driven especially to Florencia because I used to have delicious ice cream there (more than 15 years ago). Unfortunately, this was my last visit to the store. I wouldn't recommend Florencia to anyone. There are plenty of other ice cream parlors that serve delicious ice cream.

August 8, 2025: After dinner, we had a delicious ice cream here and ate it outside on the terrace. The atmosphere was pleasant. The ice cream was good, and there was plenty of choice.

Little bit like a flashback to the 20. century, but people were friendly and ice cream was good. 🙂

To avoid. Unfriendly owner. The affogato (espresso + vanilla ice cream) had some taste of another ice cream with it. The owner charges to use the bathroom even if you ordered for 10€, and it’s not even clean and had no towel. The outdoor area is okay, but inside has a weird smell unfortunately.

Just been there with my wife. Got four scoops of ice cream in two containers, costing almost 7 euros in total. The scoops were tiny and they even scraped them off! They used to have the best Italian ice cream. Now, everything tastes the same and watery. I mentioned it to the woman behind the counter, but she said, "My scoop is just so small." I don't think I'd been there in twenty years, and that was also the last time. I'll never go back. It's a faded glory, and they're ripping me off!

Extremely rude and unfriendly to customers! The staff gives you a tiny, measly scoop of ice cream. If you say anything about it, you're snapped at. The old woman seems to be the owner and is also the one who served me. So she's the one who's so terribly rude to you as a customer. I live in The Hague and have been here once now, but I'll never go back. They're riding on their old reputation, but that could use some updating. Extremely unfriendly and disrespectful. So be warned if you're considering going to this ice cream parlor! I advise against it.

I dont know what kind of ice cream they have but it tastes like you have just mixed food coloring and flavour. You will find better ice cream anywhere else.

This iconic Hague ice cream parlor is almost a century old. It's a cultural heritage. The Hague Photo Museum previously dedicated an exhibition to this legendary Italian ice cream family. I still get as happy as a child when Adriana, who should have retired long ago, scoops a delicious waffle with Malaga and pistachio for me.

Really tasty Ice cream. I am sure to eat again when I visit good price and extra unique flavors like matcha or mangococo. Forgot to take a picture. In general balls are small so you need to take advantage of the good price and buy more. 1-2 balls is not worth it. Also in mens toilet you don't have to pay but for women you pay 20 cents. I have never seen that before.

I'm from Amsterdam and have been looking for an Almond sandwich for a long time. Here it was just in the display case. A nostalgic place, beautiful to see.

You can eat in a pinch but there is still a lot of room for improvement.

Stopped by Florencia Koffie & IJssalon in Den Haag on a warm day with no expectations—just kids craving ice cream. It seemed like a popular local spot, especially known for their coffee and ice cream. Prices were standard: 2 scoops of ice cream for €3.20, and I got an affogato for €4.20. The presentation was a bit underwhelming, but the taste was decent. It was super busy, with people constantly coming and going, especially on the terrace. The atmosphere felt a bit hectic, and unfortunately, the elderly woman behind the counter didn’t seem too happy—hopefully just a rough day, but it did affect the vibe a bit. All in all, it’s an okay place for a quick ice cream or coffee stop, especially if you’re nearby. 3/5.

After years I visited Florencia again to get an ice cream. Unfortunately what a disappointment. They dare to charge 1.90 euros per ball and then you get a very small ball that falls exactly into a small square container. There was also little flavor to the ice cream. Gone are good memories of this case.

Just got an ice cream... really nice to relive the old cozy swear there... enjoy your eyes and ears... you hear all kinds of things

A security guard further along recommended us 'one of the oldest and best places in the area' for a coffee. I immediately liked the old-fashioned interior and the service was fast. Plenty of seating outside and a cozy atmosphere with a group of elderly people hanging out on the benches in front of the door. Nice place, I'll come back soon!

Great place! The large terrace is completely packed with all kinds of things. Good atmosphere and very affordable.

Ice cream is okay, just coming back from Italy, the pistachio in particular is a real disappointment. The frozen yogurt and whipped cream is very good.
