Fong Sheng in Noord

Delicious meal, nice athmosphere, gives China vibe, but is quite pricy. We used parking of the theather Orpheus just few hundred meters from the restaurant.

Inedible, everything went straight into the bin. Tough bean sprouts in the spring roll, incredibly disgusting babi pangang, tough meat, not fresh. Even the noodles tasted like nothing. A waste of money.

Fong Sheng Apeldoorn is an excellent Chinese-Indonesian restaurant where hospitality and flavor go hand in hand. The dishes are always freshly prepared, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented. The portions are generous, and the quality is consistently high, whether you order takeout or dine in. The staff is friendly, fast, and makes you feel welcome. The menu offers a wide selection of traditional favorites and house specialties. The price-quality ratio is excellent. In short, Fong Sheng is a reliable choice for anyone who enjoys delicious Asian food in a pleasant atmosphere.

Good food, great flavor, not too sweet or salty, attentive service. The restaurant is a bit dark, but spacious, and the seating is comfortable.

What can I say: it advertises itself as being open until 10 p.m., but at 9 a.m., if you walk in as a guest, you're practically kicked out. Unfortunately, it can only give one star.

The food was quite expensive for what was served. Fast service but we weren't looking for that, wanted to eat quietly and chat and that didn't happen. Not worth repeating.

Had take away food and I really liked it Peking duck and babi ketjap. Unfortunately I don't live nearby otherwise I would definitely pick up again.

Waiting times were very long, about 90 minutes. Because theater goers were given priority. Food deserves five stars.

Yesterday I bought €89 worth of food, the taste and quantity of the food did not even come close to that of an average Chinese restaurant. I was able to eat a little bit of it and had to throw the rest away, the meat was very tough, the chicken was very dry, the meat tasted really bad and smelled a bit. I ordered here for the 3 time to give it a chance, but I will never go here again, it's really scandalous, it almost made my girlfriend throw up, I really don't understand it, even the koolojouk was very soft, almost everything I ordered had no or the babipandang was also inedible and fuyanghai had a bad taste. Very unfortunate and a waste of money.

Old restaurant. Food tastes slightly different than we are used to. It's beautiful in itself, of course, but I didn't think it was great. Tried it here, but won't be back. Lots of fat in the meat.

Very satisfied with the restaurant. The owners (who are also the waiters) are very friendly, they work hard and try to make the best of it. The food was very tasty. You get a lot and also of good quality for a very good price. Maybe they can make the menu smaller.

For a simple meal it's fine, but if you're really looking for a culinary experience I'd look further. Overall a decent experience, but it didn't leave a lasting impression.

What happened to this once famed restaurant? When we walked in on a Sunday evening, we noticed the peace and quiet, even though it was always full. The waiter was very rushed and unfriendly. As if they had to leave in an hour. The food was, let me be kind, very mediocre. Never again.

I would advise against dining at this restaurant, especially on a Saturday evening. Although they accept guests for dinner, they seem to struggle to deliver the service promised. If you are planning to go to a show at the Orpheus theater and are considering eating here, I would advise against it.

- Nice location, where you can sit quietly and sort of separately with a group. - Large round table where you can comfortably seat 10 people. - The service is good, not rushed and there is enough space between courses. - I liked that I also had the opportunity to decorate the room/table in the afternoon. - The food was great, tasted good and looked neat and tidy. - Another thing I thought was great is that not too much food was served. If you want more, you can indicate that. This way you prevent too much food from being thrown away. In short, it is highly recommended to visit here.

Nothing is what it should be. Service is friendly. The food is not worth a star. The restaurant looks cozy. We had the Canton menu. Crepes with Peking duck that swam through at great speed without leaving many traces. Flavored with too much and too strong sauce. Then a tasteless wantan soup; it really had no taste. The fried crab claws are of course made from pressed white fish, surimi. Not too good. The fish fillet is also a tasteless pressed white fish bite. The flavor comes from the sauce. The tenderloin is pure fake, namely bavette (long coarse thread, much less tender than steak, let alone tenderloin). We felt cheated. Quick ice cream, pay and drive an hour home after a great concert in the Orpheus theater. Oh yes, we tasted the nasi and noodles and didn't touch them.

We had a delicious meal. I found the waiter very rushed and not friendly. Took the card out of my hands while I wanted to tell them what I was going to order. He ran between the tables, which doesn't look very pleasant. A friendly chat was in order, even if it was just to ask whether the food tasted good. The burner was turned off while we were eating before we had even finished eating. The lady who occasionally came to help and stood at the cash register was very friendly!

Ate at the Chinese restaurant for the first time in a long time. Fong Sheng is a hit. The food is really fantastic and the atmosphere and service complete the whole experience. They will definitely see us here more often.

It is the Chinese/Indian of my youth. Tasty, large portions and fresh. There are hardly any restaurants like this in the west of the Netherlands anymore. And certainly not as tasty Chinese/Indian as here.

Old fashioned Chinese Restaurant that is becoming rare these days. We now understand why, at prime dinner time the restaurant was empty, we were the only guest until we were joined by one other guests. If there would have been more guest, then I would have scored the atmosphere a 5. The food was OK, nothing special, the service was super good.

Too expensive for quality, and not enough food

Very disappointing and disgusting what we ate. Wan-tan soup had no taste at all and balls seemed undercooked. The spring roll was greasy, dirty and cold. Very unfortunate Fong Sheng because it used to be always good.

Nice meal! The service seemed a bit stressed since we came to eat with 11 people. Ti pan with sweet-spicy sauce was a bit bland. Furthermore, the food was excellent!

Not too shabby. Fong Sheng is a classic in Apeldoorn and we have eaten there quite often. Our waiter helped us choosing the correct amount of food, and we enjoyed talking with him. The food was excellent and not too pricey.

Good old-fashioned Chinese food

Excellent Chinese restaurant where you can order delicious dishes. The staff are friendly and even though I didn't order in advance, the food was ready very quickly. Unfortunately, the Yang Chow Mien is prepared with noodles and not noodles, even though I specifically asked for it. But even with noodles it was still very tasty. A small downside is that they do not sell sambal in cups. I did receive three of those very small containers for free, which is of course very nice, but I would happily spend a few euros extra for a large amount of sambal. Nevertheless, a good Chinese restaurant and therefore highly recommended!

Very good food with a wide menu to choose from. Friendly staff who also give you good advice about the food. Personally, I like my food a bit spicier, but not too spicy. The choice was well advised to the gentleman.

Yesterday evening, for a change, I didn't pick it up, but went for dinner. There was nothing wrong with the food, but I found the service very clumsy and blunt, not really nice, impatient and continuously checking our food by looking in the rice pots, and without asking. If we had enough, we had to take the food away in a hurry. Not fun! Don't think we'll eat there again. Being a little friendly isn't much to ask in these corona times.

Well, the food is good, but the environment is a bit outdated. It is very dark inside..and the carpet on the floor is not ideal...I hope in the near future to come back and see an improvement, a nice renovation!
